"I've considered it once or twice. The problem is that my mind is relatively vast, and requires a lot of space to operate in. The Robot-Avatar has this built in, but an organic brain simply might not be able to store enough of my mind to make it worth the transfer. I might do it one of these days though, if I was certain PNUgen wouldn't hunt me down for genetic-engineering without their permission." Kip laughed.

"Very true." Kip laughed, after finishing his mouthful, "Which I have to say I am not doing here, going around a dead systems remains. Not much adventure here, or much risk."

Kip's faced dropped, and he let out a sigh, "Oh I have a lot of meaning. I look after the ship, everyone on its needs, both major and trivial. I run a good deal of NovaCorp administration, make a lot of decisions, live through the mids of others in the Game, and run hundreds of thousands of simulations of every situation just for the hell of it, predicting everything before it happens, and occasoinally getting it right, playing games of logic with myself. Destigning stuff when I feel like it, so my life has ... meaning, of a sort, I just don't live much."

"Well I've heard it said that the difference between a wise man and a fool is that a wise man wants to live quietly for a cause while the fool is willing to die for one." Harm chuckled a little bit at that, "I can't say that I am willing to live quietly so I wouldn't trust all that I have to say."

"I haven't heard that idiom before." Kip laughed, before looking puzzled, "Strangely. In any case, there's a certain truth behind it. However I am nearly a man," Kip's complexion was replaced for a moment with a cascade of numbers, "Or wise", His image came back, now with a large D printed on his forehead.

"Well don't take it to literally. If you did then I can't say that it would apply to me." Harm said.

"Well your certainly not a man, unless you've been hiding something from me." Kip replied smoothly, sitting back in his chair and drinking lightly from his glass, "But I do not think you are unwise, you seem to see to the heart of things with some degree of competance." It was clear that he was kidding on the last bit, he did mean it as a compliment.

"Well, I don't think that A.I.s are into that kind of proof but I can assure you that nothing of that sort is being hidden from you,â€

"Not that I would mind of course." Kip continued, "I most certainly would not require visual proof of anything, certainly not anything about you Harm. I think that anything I want can be achieved by simple, civilised conversation, which is actually surprisingly rare here."

"That brings up an interesting question... can an A.I. be gay? I mean if you have no gender to start out with aside from what is given to you later by either your creator or your users then does that mean you have a definite male or female sexual identity?â€

"I believe in human terms the average A.I. would be termed 'Pansexual'. We are not attracted to the body, at least not usually, more to the mind and the personality of the person in question. Gender, and the body, is quite insignificant, or at least this is how it is with me." Kip replied, looking thoughtful, "However I suppose some A.I's might favour a female or male personality, and therefore prefer to associate and have a relationship with someone of that sex."

"So it would seem. Though I'm sure that could lead to some interesting encounters.â€

"Certainly, but then again simply stepping out your front door is likely bring you to an interesting encounter." Kip said lightly, "Although I haven't stepped outside my front door - well ever actually."

"Well, I'm sure you wouldn't want to air condition the outdoors... especially this deep in space." Harm said.

"But it's getting so stuffy in here, I'm sure opening all the windows would get the place nice and fresh in no time." Kip joked, "But you're right. I have responsibilities here, no time to go off adventuring, no matter how much I would like to."

"Ever considered creating a completely isolated self sustaining avatar and going to see the universe?" Harm asked.

"Simply put. Yes." Kip replied, "I have considered it, and that was one of the reasons I created the robot-avatar who is now so busy in the kitchen." Kip gestured vaguely towards the kitchen the door, "But I have yet to find any place to go with my avatar, or found anyone to accompany it. This may seem somewhat naive, but I'd like someone to be with me during my first expedition into the big wide world." Kip adorned this statement with a self-mocking smile.
