...What exactly is wrong with being a Yamataian over a Geshrin?
I look at it more like a small vaccination than this GINORMOUS UPGRADE IN ABILITIES RAGH I WILL BE UNSTOPPABLE!
Let's take a look at the Yamataian package over Geshrins:
Same strength
Same mindset with a digital storage center in the mind.
Self-healing capabilities (SLOW and are far inferior to Neko)
Slightly better disease/poison resistance.
Limited, minor telepathic abilities over the Geshrin.
A rather limited (and probably useless) ability to hover around stationary object with anti-gravity. This is good for preventing death from falling and helps climbing, but really has no combat applications.
It's not that bad, and hell, it's still tremendously weaker than the Neko, like the Geshrin was anyway.
Again, IMAGINE how the culture you signed up for ACCEPTS the simplicity of upgrading. It's no more than getting a vaccination or a checkup for lice when you were in elementary school.
Unless you've been playing the "stubborn I'm-me-goddamnit-and-I'm-a-proud-Geshrin-Nepleslian" card, then you have no IC reasons to be against this. And, even if you DID have a reason to resist this, you're living in an Orwellian Dystopia when it comes to personal freedoms.
How. Could. You. Not. Have. Noticed. This. Before? Ya'll should have been preparing for this a long time ago.
But yes, I do feel for the players who, for OOC reasons, think like they're getting robbed or manipulated by the GMs. I felt a slight twinge of remorse when I had to upgrade Tom. But, really, are there any IC reasons for this not to happen?
Think of it as another step in the universe's evolution.
