If you were supposed to get an email from the forum but didn't (e.g. to verify your account for registration), email Wes at stararmy@gmail.com or talk to me on Discord for help. Sometimes the server hits our limit of emails we can send per hour.
For instances of it happening after 2018 (because Ame has had me do this for certain characters between then and now), I'm just reasoning that the promotion realistically happened once for the character but that separate orders for each promotion step were sent from the ship to SA-PERSCOM with the first rank backdated. Typical clerical maneuvering stuff.
It definitely used to be a thing back in the day before the "how to promotions work" wiki page got added so it's totally understandable. As with most regulations in the military, the guidelines were likely added because some person was going ham (I'm not even going to guess because it's ancient history) and I wanted everyone to be on the same page.
It seems like people are wanting more GM posts to intersperse the regular posting order, am I reading the room correctly here? I'm open to what you guys need or were expecting and could post tomorrow/today or wait another few days. I wouldn't want to push people out of the scene but am happy to post more than twice a week if that's what this mission calls for.
I just don't want to be posting too much since I'm too used to posting orders and get worried that I'll be making it harder for others to jump back in.
@ Nameless and megabirb the regular posters won't have trouble with jumping in and finding their place, don't worry about that. If you're worried about that, my advice is to not always be doing the actions that the GM describes as able to be taken, if that makes sense. It helps everyone to see others just post until their heart is content, I'd say. But I understand a bit better now so I'll wait for more of you guys!
Remember, if I didn't write the damage some enemy weapon takes for your character then you still have a chance to avoid it or have someone help you avoid it!
I'm glad the edit I made worked for everyone! So sorry, again! Hopefully this post fulfills a little bit more.
As for this GM post, I hate writing "and then everyone was somewhere else" but Hoshi's fear about the aether generator asploding justified me moving us along. Basically we went down the launch bay ramp enough to be well underground and the elevator shaft goes up to a half dozen levels with doors on either side as well as a top floor singular door (we'll get there, wait on the top floor door) which everyone should be able to open up like William did this elevator door and shoot into. Upon opening the doors, they'd see the same kind of mecha in cubby holes in dual rows, with around fifty behind each door. Have a little fun with mayhem and chaos and write whatever damage you think makes sense to these. They're heavy duty as we've seen but unmanned in this state, so any additional shielding is probably not online.
Hey, just thought I'd drop by and say that I posted about Aiko going to the Kikyo no Sekku (Yamatai 4th of July). I mentioned that anyone from the Kaiyo can have come along, so if you have the time and energy to participate in that Open RP thread then there's your in! No obligation, though!
It's not very original, but I wanted a name for these enemy mecha other than "enemy mecha" so designated them Killthyar in RP. Go ahead and use that if it makes your narration easier too
Well, not sure if this is going to work out as I imagined it, but if it does, if anyone wants Sif to lead the 15 mechs chasing her to them, I think it's alright to say that she flies by to let the crew play a little duck hunt.
I understand and appreciate that, Gles. This mission (though it has its heavier moments planned) was made because some players said they wanted to do mecha and I do too, so it's just a more fun one. That's why there isn't DR attached to your mecha and you can make their abilities up as you go. It's supposed to be a bit more fast and loose than what's to come! Don't feel too strict on yourself to make something super high quality (even though your last post was!) but instead make something fun that makes you smile!
