Never breaking her stride as the announcement was made, Sakamoto spoke regardless of whether or not they could hear her, the woman's voice aloof yet dulcet,

"Ara~ I do trust Navian, though, neither of you understand it seems. Shikata ga nai." It couldn't be helped. It was, for her, disappointing that she actually could trust the Elysian, and perhaps even more so that neither of them understood this, or the why behind it. Perhaps, even more importantly, was that it was simply best this way; that they would never come to understood why this would be something that the Jiyuuian woman lamented, even though it would mean they would come to understand her as a person all the more.

Making her way to the wardroom, she searched for a special something; ice cream mochi.

Nothing drowned out sorrows like sweet treats.

"Lllllistening?" came Asuka's most tentative response. "Should I have said 'Boo'?" She seemed seriously concerned about the omission, but a second later her hands swept down to her sides again, and her demeanor had completely changed. She shook her head in emphatic disapproval, and said in her usual opinionated fashion, "I never trust anybody I've just met."

A "BANG" could be heard from underneath the solid metal floor of the Bridge, followed by a quick bark of "Bugger!". A few metres under one of the consoles surrounding the Bridge, Sein rubbed his aching head in half-darkness after his outburst. Silhouetted by the dim light of a service lantern, coloured wires scattered about the crawl space he had made his way into, the man glanced up to where a smattering of artificial light streamed from a nearby grate. The Juni hoped that nobody had heard that - or thought it was an intruder - and that he could complete his checks before they all convened formally for the first time. A ship was only safe once checked as far as he was concerned.

Boss alerted Eden to the disruption on the bridge and the captain shouted, "Not yet! We haven't even gotten off the ground!" She floated forward at a rapid pace, turning with the contours of the ship's halls as she made her way to the bridge.

"O-oh!" she exclaimed when she saw the threat was minimal, if even one, at all. "You are one of our science advisors?" she asked of the blonde juni. "I would welcome you aboard but it seems you already made yourself at home! How are things looking?"

On his hands and knees, Sein was startled by the sound of a female voice emanating from above. Luckily this time he managed not to smack his head into the roof in reflex. Turning from the jumbled masses of cables and towards the grate once more, he could see am inquisitive face peering down at him. Pushing the goggles he was wearing up to his forehead, he noticed the officer's uniform she was sporting and raised an eyebrow curiously.

Giving the best salute the cramped space could afford, he smiled through the dust dancing in the beams of light. "Yes, ma'am, that'd be me! Doctor Sein- Wait, hold on. I mean Santô Juni Seinosuke Iemochi." he smiled, unruly blonde hair reflecting the dim light from above. Taking a moment to glance around the electrics scattered around him, the man returned his gaze to the officer above him. "Everything's looking shipshape erm.." he took a second to shield his eyes and check the woman for insignia. With a start, Sein realised who he was talking to. "Uhm, I was just double checking Captain!" he grinned sheepishly, running through his head whether he had clearance to be here or not.

"Good to hear!" Taii Eden replied. "Good to hear, indeed. Tell me, Seinosuke-juni... Or can I call you just Mochi? Or is there something else you would prefer to be called? Tell me, what do you see yourself doing aboard the ship as one of its science officers? Being a part of the away team, staying on the ship to man the sensors, or working in the lab? All of the positions are open to you and, typically, I would choose for you, but I don't know what you specialized in as well as you do."

She stood arms akimbo, looking down at him but in no way doing so metaphorically. She was treating him as an equal to herself, letting him decide his position aboard the ship and how he went about being on the Kaiyō's crew.

She walked the halls with careful experience. All of these vessels were the same, the Executive Officer's quarters were always in the same spot. She called the door and tossed her duffel bag inside before walking in to move it on top of the bed so she wouldn't forget. She looked at it for a moment to remember if everything was there before she brushed the white central section of her Type 35 uniform and turned back into the hallway.

She walked with a certain step, a step that showed experience though hid something else. Something odd maybe, no one knew yet but her. Her NSP sat carefully in its holster and moved with the motion of her hips. She finally did get her steps right. Her hat moved slightly to one side over her ponytail, she pushed it back into position lightly and checked the distance.

She walked to the bridge doors and tapped the door threshold out of anxiety and anticipation. She walked through the door and spoke calmly and lightly, in the tone of soprano, "I'm looking for Taii Tieien, her executive officer would like a word." She couldn't see the Neko's sleeves to see if she was the Captain, and was unknowingly looking at the officer she was looking for.

Sein raised both his eyebrows as his Taii spoke, realising that she had a command style very different from what he had anticipated of a person of her rank. That being said it was a pleasant surprise and a wise move - having your specialists explain where they best work can only increase their potential. He blinked once as these realisations coursed through his head, consciously suppressing them so he didn't keep the Captain waiting for his response.

"Mochi is fine, Taii. I used to be called just Doctor, when I was in combat training they called me Sein but Mochi works as well." he smiled and gave a nod to show he meant it. "Oh- I have a doctorate in Biology and some Xenomorphology training, so I can be useful in case of meeting any unknown lifeforms mostly." A second passed as he considered the positions available. "Honestly, ma'am, I'm happy to go wherever I'm required.. As long as I don't get shot at too often. I'm not exactly an ace in that department." He added with a sly grin.

With that, the sound of boots on metal and the vibrations through the floor that come with it rang down from above. Whoever it was sounded official and he didn't want to interrupt a potentially important conversation between the newcomer and the Captain. He kept quiet and didn't go back to checking over a nearby bundle of cables, opting instead to silently observe.

"Thank you for the information, Mochi. I will take that all into consideration. For now, I would like you to get fitted for a Mindy in the power armor bay after you have put this all back together."

With that, Taii Eden faced, saluted, and said emphatically to her XO, "You're looking at her! What is it you would like to discuss, Norogumi-chui? I am happy to walk you to my cabin and discuss anything with you there, unless the matter is of low sensitivity and you would be comfortable doing it here. I would also like to say that it is nice to have you aboard. Your experience and training does not go unnoticed by me!"

She returned the salute with a snappy response. "Apologies, Captain. I wished to discuss out mission details." She dropped and looked ever-so-slightly embarrassed, hiding it for the moment. She blinked for a second before acknowledging the complement. "Thank you, Eden-taii, for welcoming me."

Misaki still stood just past the doorway, both of her hands tucked behind her to hide her tapping them on each other is an attempt to alleviate her fear of doing something rash or unwanted. To everyone in front of her, though, she looked official and proper. Her eyes locked on the captain, with a slight smile on her face. Her posture was tall, and adding everything else made her look like she was trying maybe a bit too hard to impress.

"Let's go to my cabin," Taii Eden replied. She ushered them there and, once inside, closed the door behind Misaki.

She walked to the cozy reclining chair of the suite and sat down in it, legs crossed as she set an elbow on the side of the chair and pushed her fist over her mouth, as if deep in thought.

"We'll be doing a good deal of battle," she replied after moving her hand away from her face and letting it languidly fall on the arm rest. "A good deal, Norogumi-chui. We'll be on the front lines, assuming the rest of the 1st Expeditionary Fleet doesn't get there before us, of the Kuvexian war! We need to get past pirates and species unknown to us to get there, no doubt. But we will get there!"

She had raised her fist again, this time in front of her body and shook it vehemently. "A good of battle will get us there, but we will get there! To victory!"

On such an exciting day for the crew , one member was standing rather lone in the Power-Armor Bay. She was an Elysian, tall and thin with a crop of black hair that draped just above her shoulders. From behind, her two neatly folded wings, an odd cobalt in color and no longer than her height, bobbed behind her as she walked down the rows of dormant power armor. One wing rested lower than the other, slightly misshapen.

As she approached the next set of armor, she stopped, straightening her crisp crimson Technician's uniform, before inspecting the suit for any deformations, problems, or other errors. She was new here, not known to many other than those who went through training with her.

Navian herself had moved on to inspecting her own newly-assigned Mindy 4E. The Elysian double-hijacking veteran was larger than most Caelisolans, as was her wingspan, and her armour took up enough space for two Nekovalkyrja models. It was unclear if she fought well enough to make up for it.

This was her first space infantry assignment, her first powered armour suit, and it cost more to make than all she'd ever earned, spent, or been given before in her life, put together. It was apparent she took this assignment with great reverence. She laid her hand on the armour with glittering eyes, as if to prove it was real. Though she was aware there were other 4Es in the bay--she wondered if the other Elysians would be roasted the way she had upon boarding--she hadn't yet thought as far ahead as encountering them.

As she leans down to check a suit, a voice above her speaks.
"Hey."

The technician had a slight nervous jolt, shown by her wings twitching slightly. She stands straight, looking at the source of the voice with two deep emerald eyes. She looked a little nervous, responding quietly.

"Hello."
The technician looks up and sees a Elysian like her perched on top of the suit's shoulders. Her hair is an absolute mess, with a red hairclip more or less shoved into it to keep it from falling. Her large owl wings are outstretched to help her keep balance. She's looking at the technician with an incredible look of boredom through her...colorful light brown eyes. Also a slightly tan hue to her complexion. Judging by what she's wearing, she's Infantry. Away squad.
"Already hard at work, you techies?"

"Already hard at work, you techies?"

She stood quiet for just a moment before she replied. "Yes. Could you please. . . dismount the suit ma'am."

The techie made a polite "shoo" gesture, keying in results from the check onto a Type 33 Datapad.

She "dismounts" by backflipping off the suit. Then, she walks away like nothing ever happened. What a showoff.

Yoshida hummed to herself a little as she speed walked to the PA bay, desperate to check out her first mindy. A spring in her step, to the point of absolute sillyness as she walked on her tip toes, quickly observing the occupants of the bay upon her arrival, grinning at everyone and thing that dared to look her way as she walked to her mindy 4. First going and looking over the armor and equipment to ensure nothing was visibly wrong, before standing in front of the mindy and deftly removing its helmet, and letting it open up before backing up into it, stepping into the open boots and wiggling a little at the feel of that smooth, cool interior.

She let it close around her, hooking into the SPINE, and started doing some stretches first to make sure that the mindy could at least move as well as she could, touching her toes, swishing her tail around, and then doing a few experimental hops. "Allright that looks good nowww..." She quickly moved on to systems like the various communication devices, the volumetric displays, and ensuring that all devices were fully charged and ready to be used. It was lnly a moment longer before she took flight, first hovering barely inches off the ground, and then going entiryely upside down and floating to the ceiling, planting her boots there for a moment before looking very satisfied and floating back down.

"I can tell this is going to be a blast." Grinning, she peeled the armor away, helmet first, re-racking it and leaning out to pull her arms away, finally freeing her feet and tail after nearly face planting, barely saving herself. "Hah... gotta watch out for that." After standing up, she set the helmet back on its rightful place atop her mindy, standing there admiring it for a moment, the smile never leaving her face, and her triangular genetic tatoos almost sretching and distorting a bit with the smile.

Yoshida spots that weird Infantry girl just leaning against the wall in the hallway. She raises her hand when Yoshida gets close.
"'Sup."
