Galar strode towards the hangar, confident due to his new post, even if it was a tentative one as Shoi Kohosei. Being suddenly promoted was a definite ego boost, however, Galar made sure that it did not show. Making his way through the hallways, he finally reached the hangar area. The Anisa Star Fortress was certainly an interesting place, he thought. As he watched, engineers poured over ships of different sizes, both military and civilian. The hangar was certainly crowded at this time of day, but as far as Galar could see, there were even more people than usual. Galar had just arrived via shuttle about three hours previously and had taken a little time before the set meeting time of the crew. Finally arriving in the main part of the military hangar, Galar looked around, searching for something. Querying the network, Galar acquired the map layout and the dock layout as well. Now aware which ships were docked where, Galar made his way towards an oblong shape near the back of the hangar, suspended, and yet supported by beams and docking claws. Obviously a new ship, the YSS Moirai, as it read on the side, was ready to take off. There were no mechanics around it and it was in pristine condition. Aside from the few guards standing by the entrance, there was, in fact, no one there at all. He approached the guards, bowed his head a little and said, "Shoi Kohosei, Captain of the YSS Moirai. Thank you for keeping watch over my command." Nodding back the guards silently aknowledged his thanks. Taking a look back, he saw someone approaching him. It was a young female Yamataian with brown skin and piercing grey eyes. He was drawn to the eyes; it was rare for anyone to have grey eyes of that shade, and Galar had found someone with the same color eyes as his own. Smiling, he said as he checked the dossier on his crew, "Itto Hei Hibiko Renko, no? Nice to see you."

The young Yamataian smiled as she came to full attention and saluted. "Sir! Itto Hei Hibiki Renko reporting for duty!"

As Renko walked up to the commander, Kumiko started walking towards the ship, having determined it was her new assignment.

Behind the two Yamataian women, a petite neko with shoulder-length black hair and dark, bronze-toned skin approached from the same direction. Kuroaki Isuzu wore the alternate male-style uniform, complete with black longcoat and tricorner hat, and was carrying a datapad in one hand an a large travel bag in the other.

As she walked towards the ship, Kumiko reflected on her last assignment, and everything that had gone on, from running security at the conference, to eating with other security team members at a restaurant.

Where did those to run off to... ah; there. Kumiko was much taller than her, and Ren far more energetic, so the pair had quickly left Isuzu behind after disembarking from the shuttle. It was a little annoying, but something she was accustomed to. She could have flown to keep up, but Isuzu was busy reviewing the NH-29S upgrade approval she'd just received. Apparently, the operation would be performed on her new ship.

Well, that's a relief. With the way things had been at Pisces Station when they left, she hadn't relished the thought of getting it done there. It just seemed like one disaster after another... Shuddering slighly, the Neko moved to catch up with her companions, as they seemed to know where they were going.

Lyf Kenna found himself sitting in a small lounge when his personal computer began ringing with its alarm clock message. Sighing, he half-glanced at the message that told him it was time to meet the other crew members before closing it. He was hoping to have just a little more time to finish his computerized book that he loved to read.
Closing the programs and shutting the computer, he got up and checked his electronic map of the station. “Let’s see,” he thought, “The hangar should be that way.” He proceeded to walk into the nearby hangar and surveyed his surroundings.
He saw a nice new ship and someone in an officer’s uniform talking to someone. “That must be the captain,” he though.” Quickly checking his clean- cut hair, he approached the figure and came to attention. “Lyf Kenna, sir,” he said saluting, “technology and medicine specialist.”

Galar, only slightly surprised when the Yamataian man came up to him and saluted, said, "You must be Lyf Kenna, Santo Hei." Bowing to both of the recruits, he continued, "Unlike in the Nepleslian's military, we do not salute to our commanders, we bow." Galar remembered his own troubles with the command chain and his punishments from these. Almost grimacing, Galar looked around, looking for the two others he was still waiting on. Spotting one of the two remaining crew from his dossier, he smiled once more, inclined his head and said, "Kumiko Endoh, Santo Hei, I assume? Good to see you as well."

Mentally smacking herself for making the same blunder a second time on her second real assignment Renko bowed deeply dropping her arm. "Excuse me for my fumble Sir!"

Kumiko bowed as was appropriate, and looked up again. "It is a pleasure to meet you, sir." As she spoke, she studied the other Santo Hei and her commander, taking in details about their appearances.

Silently, Isuzu assumed a position at attention behind the others, while her new commander addressed Kumiko.

Also slightly embarrassed, Lyf attempted to corrected himself by bowing as well. “Of, course you are right,” he said to Galar. He should have known better, but he was a little nervous for his first military foray.

Galar, knowing that these two would certainly keep this lesson in mind from now on responded, "It is no problem, now that you know, you will be the better for the knowledge." Seeing the Neko in the back, he addressed her, "Kuroaki Isuzu, correct? I am pleased that you are here." He inclined his head to her as well. "Now that we are all here, I would like to show you aboard the YSS Moirai, Kyaa class search and rescue vessel. Please follow me."
Stepping inside, The crew was accosted by a Nekovalkyrja sprite, one that Galar knew from his dossier to be the EIES avatar Mochi. Smiling widely, she said, "Welcome everyone! Galar Kohosei, I'm so glad you came right on time. Let me guide you all to the bridge where you will spend a great deal of your time aboard this ship." With that the avatar walked off along a well lit, white corridor. Galar motioned for everyone to follow him once more, and made his way after Mochi.

Following the captain Renko pinged a quick telepathic thought to Isuzu, Is it me or is that EIES wayyyy too chipper?

Kumiko nodded, and followed, showing no surprise at the sprite, and walked along behind Galar.

Lyf followed as well, taking note of the ship's mechanical workings as he walked along."It's a very nice ship," he said as he followed the captain.

Acknowledging Vanatosk-Shoi's nod with an abbreviated bow, Isuzu followed without a word. Hard green eyes darted around the corridor as they walked taking in everything and cataloging it for further study. New ship; she's young, Isuzu replied to Ren.

Winding their way through the ship, they passed the mess hall and the laundry room on the right, and medical bays on either side. On their way to the ramp, Galar said to Mochi, "This ship has a very interesting layout. But, then again, this does make it easier to defend." Responding, the avatar said, "Yes indeed, having the airlock on the bottom floor makes the entire ship easy to defend against a boarding party that doesn't burn a hole directly through the hull itself." Galar, realizing that it could be a good lesson for the entire crew, said, "Everyone, make sure you note how this ship is laid out, we may have to defend it someday, you never know."

Renko, already quite familiar with the ships layout from the plans she'd downloaded prior, began to make defense plans for the ship should the issue come up. "Sir! Yes Sir!"

Kumiko nodded in response, pulling up the plans to view them in this light.

Isuzu nodded, though she guessed that the layout was more to give incoming and outgoing medical teams better access to the surgical theatres. As security, she'd probably spend a lot of her time down here on the operations level, so she committed it's layout to memory and marked it for later; she'd have to find some good defense points.

Lyf hoped that he wouldn’t have to do too much fighting inside their own ship, but took Galar’s advice and looked carefully at the layout. He took special note of the medicine bays. He figured that he would probably be most useful there.

Continuing up the ramp to the second deck, the group passed through a hallway with two squad prep rooms, one on either side. Next they came across the quarters. Here Mochi said as she walked along in front of the group, "Your quarters will be inside these two rooms; the rooming assignments will be available for you to download off of my system." They made a right turn and came to a door which opened to the bridge. Stepping inside, Galar looked around, there seemed to be everything they needed here. Sitting in the command chair, Galar motioned for everyone to gather around. "Alright, now it is time for me to give you your first assignments."
Looking around at the crew standing around him and Mochi, Galar said, "Renko Hei, you are an infantry, thus you shall be our first line of attack, if we should ever need to take a mission on foot, and to be honest, I would rather that than having to fight in space, this ship really isn't suited for that. Your battle ready station is in the first squad room. I believe you know where that is. If we should ever need to fight you will help lead the sprites into battle." He turned to Lyf. "You are our medic, but you also have skills in mechanics. You will report to engineering if a battle should arise and be prepared to tke a power armor into space or ground, wherever we may be." Looking at Kumiko and Isuzu, he said, "You two will accompany Lyf to engineering and perform those duties as well. However, I will need some of you to stay on the bridge and temporarily pilot the Moirai, as well as man the comm. You two can do that at times, as you have received some training in those areas, no?"

Galar thought again, "Actually, Mochi, you can handle the piloting right?" Mochi answered, "Correct. I will do the piloting aboard this vessel.

"Sir it is my honer, Sir!" Renko bowed attempting to hide the overwhelmed look on her face at being put in charge of the entire ships compliment of assault units.

Kumiko coughed slightly. "No sir, I have never had piloting experience myself, but I am sure I could learn quickly if needed. But I am prepared to fulfill my duties as an engineer, sir."

"I have been trained in communications and small craft operations, Vanatosk-Shoi," Isuzu confirmed with an unreadable, flat expression. Internally, however, she was elated. Finally, an actual engineering assignment! She'd spent a little too much time as an MP on Pisces Or at I'll be in Engineering, anyhow, she corrected; so far, the only duties he'd listed thus far were ship operations and armor piloting... but that didn't make any sense. She'd peeked the ship loadout, as it the Kyaa-class normally didn't carry any NH-29 or even Yamataian-pilotable mecha.

"I'll be happy to assist in any way you need," Lyf answered. He had some power armor experience, but he was happy to hear that someone else, namely Renko, would lead the combat.

And with that, Galar akcnowledged their bows with one of his own. Making mental notes of what he needed delivered to the ship, Galar said, "We will begin our first mission tomorrow. Please find your respective battle stations and feel free to explore the ship until such time as we need to leave the Star Fortress. I will have the necessary things delivered to the ship while we wait. That is all, thank you for choosing to become one of my crew, I am sure that we will be able to complete our mission with ease."

Kumiko bowed once more. "Thank you for accepting my application, sir." She turned and started to leave, then thought again and turned back. "Do you have any idea how much time we have until we depart, sir?"

"24 hours, Endoh Hei" Galar responded.

Bowing to Galar, Isuzu stood at attention while the others left to find their bunks or explore the ship. She had a small matter to discuss with her new commander in private. Far from forgotten, the datapad clutched in her left hand was practically vibrating in her fingers.

Ren bowed as well, and made her way towards the engineering area, interested at what lay ahead.

Lyf wandered off to look around more closely at the ship. He decided to look around in the medical bays. As he walked down the hall, he wondered what their first mission actually was, but seeing Galar busy talking to Kumiko, he decided to ask later.

Re: Mission 1 Prologue

Once the others had left the bridge, Isuzu stepped forward. "Vanatosk Shoi," she prompted, and offered Galar the datapad, flipped around so he would be able to read it. Displayed on the pad was a letter of approval from Third Expeditionary Fleet central command for one 'Ittô Hei Kuroaki Isuzu' to be upgraded to the NH-29S stealth variant Nekovalkyrja body. The reason for the approval was to 'allow for greater situational flexibility' in the crew of the YSS Moirai, and the upgrade parameters were listed as, 'at your commanding officer's discretion.'

Re: Mission 1 Prologue

Galar read over the letter, and announced to the EIES, "I, Galar Vanatosk, Shoi Kohosei, approve the upgrade for one Kuroaki isuzu, Itto Hei to a NH-29S variant. Please store for confirmation."

Galar turned to Kuroaki, "That will be quite a boon to us here in case we are in need of stealth capabilities and don't have access to equipped power armor. Please ask Lyf Kenna Hei and one of our sprites to help you with that. I will order Marmalade down there to assist you." Galar nodded and knew the order was heard by Marmalade and would be carried out immediately.

Re: Mission 1 Prologue

Isuzu bowed to Galar once more. "Thank you, sir. I will attend to it immediately," she intoned. As she turned to leave the bridge she mentally queried the ship's EIES to find the young medic that she hadn't recognized earlier.

Locating him near the crew quarters, the small neko waved for his attention. "Kenna Hei? I need you in the medical bay for a moment," Isuzu explained, walking up to Lyf.

Re: Mission 1 Prologue

Starting in Engineering Renko began to poke and prod every corner of the ship, physically examining every duct and hidy-hole for potential threats in the future. Still madly planning defensive plans based on every situation her devious mind could come up with, not simply including ship defensive plans but other perhapses more sinister plans as well.

"Mochi? What kind of small arms and explosives do we carry again?" Moving to the armory to physically check over everything available to her as head of security.

Re: Mission 1 Prologue

Mochi's voice was heard near Ren, "The list of tactical weaponry aboard this vessel is ready for download at this location." A volumetric window opened as well, listing the available weapons.

40 Type 28 Nekovalkyrja Service Pistols with 120 additional BR-28A battery magazines
20 Type 28 Nekovalkyrja Submachine guns with 80 additional BR-SMG battery magazines
32 Ke-M4-2901 Light Armor Service Rifles, with 6 additional magazines of ammunition each.
16 Ke-M2-2901 Aether Saber Rifles with 64 BR-M20 magazines and attachment cables
50 chargers each for BR-28 and BR-SMG
7mm ammunition for the Ke-M4-2701 Light Armor Service Rifle
60 Type 28 Army Multi-Species Environmental Suits (many more are located on the ship)

"Not only that," Mochi continued, "but we also have a large amount of explosives as well."

Re: Mission 1 Prologue

The grin that spread its way across Renko's face could only be described as demonic as she began to skip girlishly in the direction of the armory.

"I'm gonna have me some fun," Renko announced in a sing-song manner.

Re: Mission 1 Prologue

Kumiko went to her bunk, put her stuff away, and sat down on the bed. She thought for a moment, and then headed out of the room to the engineering bay, pulling up a map as she went so she could get there quickly. upon arriving, she noticed Ren, noticed her grin, and decided to leave her alone and explore on her own.

Re: Mission 1 Prologue

Turning away from the crew quarters to face Isuzu, Lyf said, "Sure thing. I was looking to poke around the medical bays anyway- I find them more interesting than beds." He smiled and began to walk along with Isuzu toward the medical bays. "What can I help you with, anyway?"

Re: Mission 1 Prologue

"Upgrade," Isuzu replied, acknowledging Lyf's smile with a nod and a fairly neutral expression; not precisely cold, but more than a little cautious. "May take a while; the sprite meeting us there should have the data," she added after a moment.

Re: Mission 1 Prologue

As Lyf and Isuzu found their way to the medical area, they met Marmalade, a slightly busty sprite, who smiled a small smile and said, "Isuzu-san and Lyf-san, please follow me, I have received orders to help you on the body upgrade." She led them through the room to a wall, where a hemosynth tube was inserted, and was obviously in the process of creating something. "At the moment, I am creating your new body, but in order to transfer you to this new body, you have to go through a ST backup procedure and then the actual ST process. Lyf-san, you will help Isuzu-san grow accustomed to the new body by performing the regular tests of dexterity and simple success." She looked at the two of them standing there, "Shall we get started?"

Re: Mission 1 Prologue

Isuzu nodded to Marmalade and set down her bag so she could undress, starting with her heavy woolen coat. Paying absolutely no mind to Lyf, who was standing right next to her, Isuzu removed each article of clothing with deliberate care and folded them neatly on a chair near the tube.

Though she could have easily been described as 'tiny,' Isuzu was hiding more than her fair share of curves under that male-styled uniform, and when the dark-skinned neko was finally done, Marmalade didn't seem quite so busty anymore. "Ready," Isuzu announced, stepping forward.

Re: Mission 1 Prologue

The hangar was still loud with machinery whining, shouts of people attempting to catch one another's attention and even the yelling that ensues from mistakes made by the mechanics. A young male Yamataian found himself the object of many a stare due to the blue highlights in his hair. Whispers were sometimes exchanged between friends as he passed. Obviously a military man, dressed in the standard uniform of an enlisted soldier, this man was driven towards a goal.

Blue eyes looked left, right, and then straight as Hibiki Akira walked along the main causeway. He paused, querying the network for where exactly the YSS Moirai was, and then continued to move forward. He ignored the whispers and stares of the people around him; it had been like that ever since he had gotten the new body. He caught the scents of grease, ozone, and sweat as he continued his walk, taking notes of the different ships and the mechanics working on them. Reminds me of the shop back home... Akira smiled at that thought as he continued his walk. So deep in his own thoughts was he that he almost missed the Moirai, and turning a quick about-face, he made his way to the dock. As he approached the guards, he began to pull out his identification for them to check through.

The guard on the right checked Akira's identification, nodded as he saw it was correct, and promptly sent a telepathic message to Galar, Galar Vanatosk-Shoi, you have a visitor outside.
Galar narrowed his eyes slightly and walked through the ship and to the airlock on the bottom deck. Seeing a Yamataian male with a rank pin classifying him as a Santo Hei. Bowing slightly, Galar introduced himself, "I am Galar Vanatosk, Shoi Kohosei of the YSS Moirai. What do you need?

Taking note of what Galar had spoken, Akira saluted. Might as well start with a good impression, right? Akira’s rhetorical thought bounced through his brain.“Hibiki Akira reporting for duty, sir.” With his left hand he reached into his left-side belt pouch and pulled out a data pad, which he handed out to Galar Vanatosk

Galar, taking the datapad in his hands and reading it thoroughly, nodded to Akira. "Welcome aboard, Akira-san. However, you wouldn't be related to a Hibiki Renko, would you?" Galar said this last part with a grin on his face; he could already tell the outcome of his question.

Akira’s eyes widened, and pupils shrank, but within half a second returned to normal. Uh-oh… Noticing the grin on Galar’s face, however, Akira relaxed. “I would be, Galar-sama.” He rubbed his chin for a moment, and then raised an eyebrow. “If I may ask…is she serving on board and has she arrived yet?” A glint of hope, and perhaps mischief, glimmered in the blue eyes of Akira. Please say yes and then no… This thought was repeated in the back of Akira’s head.

Galar smiled at Akira, "She, like you, had the same problem: in the Star Army of Yamatai, we do not salute, we bow out of respect. I had to repremand your sister, and now you upon the same subject." He chuckled a little. "Follow me, I will tell the others you are here."

Akira joined in with the chuckles. "My apologies. Though, it makes sense...we are twins." Akira moved in behind Galar and began to follow him up to the Moirai.

Galar telepathically messaged the crew of the Moirai, We have a new crew member that has just arrived with orders. Please treat him well! Galar, still smiling, said, "Twins you say, how interesting. And you didn't know she had transferred here?" Galar said this while walking in front of Akira, down the halls of the Moirai, to the bridge.

Akira nodded, setting his body on a sort of auto-pilot as he continued. "Yup. She is the older twin, and we have sort of a...history." Akira frowned for a second before continuing. "How should I put this...its a pity I didn't bring the rubber chicken?"

Galar let out a laugh, which only he could tell was fake. In reality, he had no memory of his family, any of them. Whether or not he had a sister was completely outside his knowledge. By the time they reached the bridge, Galar knew that he would enjoy this man's company aboard. "Hibiki Akira-Hei," Galar said, "It is time that I give you your standing orders. You will assist Renko within the area of assault and defense. You are one of our Infantry specialists, and thus you will be the last line of defense in space and the specialist on the ground. I expect you to carry out orders with diligence and efficiency. You can do this, correct?"

Akira, realizing Galar had never answered the question of whether or not his sister had been on board, nodded in agreement. "I can, Galar-sama, and will." Akira stopped a salute half-way through, then bowed. Standing back up, Akira smiled. "I won't let you down, sir."

"Then you are dismissed." Galar bowed to Akira, "Feel free to explore the ship and introduce yourself to the rest of the crew. You can get the floorplans from the EIES and any other pertinent information as well. Thank you for joining my ship, we will be able to do what is right in the universe this way."

Akira nodded, bowing once more and turned to leave. Upon the first intersection, Akira mentally called up the EIES and started to find his way to his room. After he dropped off his bag...then he could find his sister, and meet the rest of the crew. Already the Moirai felt like home, and, despite the AI being unusually chipper, he knew this was a great place to start his career. He soon realized though, that with his sister on board, things had already shifted.
He was going to have to get the rubber chicken.

Re: Mission 1 Prologue

As soon as Renko heard about the new crew member she queried the computer as to who it is. Upon finding out who as the system popped up a mental image and bio on the new soldier Renko grinned broadly.

"Oh this is gonna be fun. I need to get a rubber chicken."

The grin grew even more demented as she turned from her inventorying the ships armaments and grabbed her bag. At a quick trot Renko bolted for her room with the intention of requisitioning several items before leaving port.

Renko only paused in what the map indicated as her room to drop off her bag before heading off to where she figured Isuzu would be. As soon as she released the bag on its arc into the room she bolted for the ramp down to where the Medbay's are one floor down.

Renko checked one medbay, then the other finding who she sought.

"Lyf-Hei can you do my a favor? After your done with Isuzu- that is."

Re: Mission 1 Prologue

A shiver went down Akira's back as he set his bag down in his chair, like something had just walked over his grave. Shrugging, he sat down, and pulled out a new rubber chicken, some steel wire, and a couple magnets. A few moments later, it hung inside the room, off in a corner. It was unobtrusive, yet, a constant reminder to take things lightly in life. Satisfied with the display, he started to roam the halls. He picked routes at random; hoping to meet a fellow crewman in the halls.

Re: Mission 1 Prologue

Lyf, who had been thinking about the various dexterity tests that he would run after the transfer, stood next to Isuzu looking forward. As he examined the equipment and asked the sprite a few questions about procedure, he remained completely oblivious to what Isuzu was doing for a good while.

As the sprite finished explaining, Lyf turned to face Isuzu to confirm various aspects with her. "So it looks like we'll need..." he began, but he fumbled for words as he suddenly realized that Isuzu had removed most of her clothes while he was standing right next to her.

Lyf cleared his throat. "Uhhh, we'll need to run a few breasts, er, tests after," he stuttered. His face now flushed red, he turned again to face away from Isuzu and found himself fiddling with a medical instrument. However, as this was not exactly the position he wanted to be in either, he struggled between looking away and glancing at Isuzu.

He smiled nervously to try to clear up his earlier blunder, now giving up and looking directly at his crewmate. Relief washed over him as Renko's voice came from behind him. Turning quickly, he replied, "Sure thing, just wait a minute for us to finish up here." Lyf certainly had not anticipated like this so soon when he was first assigned to the Moirai. He turned back to Isuzu, now composed and ready to proceed with the transfer. I think I could get used to this, he thought to himself, grinning slightly.

Re: Mission 1 Prologue

"Not a problem!"

Grinning Renko approached the two. Taking advantage of their distraction, Lyf on boobies and Isuzu on her new body, Renko decided to dig into Isuzu's bag for the item in question.

Finding It, she grinned dementedly as she pulled it out sneakily.

It took Renko a moment to find the instrument she needed to use to extract a small amount of DNA from the lobster frozen in the suspended animation container.

As soon as she had finished she moved to replace the block back into Isuzus' bag.

Re: Mission 1 Prologue

Isuzu quirked an eyebrow at Lyf's slip, but didn't comment. It wasn't like his reaction was unexpected, after all- though she'd hoped that a doctor would've been able to manage a bit of professional detachment. After a moment, Lyf did put on a straight face and look her in the eye, but the grin that remained on his lips wasn't lost on the petite Neko.

You'd think he'd never seen a naked patient before, Isuzu grumbled internally, missing Ren's grab for her bag as she peered at Lyf in annoyance. She almost crossed her arms under her breasts, but stopped herself; she wasn't entirely certain how the medic would take that gesture.

Turning back to the hemosynthesis tank, Isuzu squinted at the hazy fluid within. She was tempted to request that her breasts be made smaller on her new body, but quashed that notion immediately. The tiny bit of random chance that had gone into her appearance was a piece of her personal identity, and she didn't want to mess with it.

Re: Mission 1 Prologue

Meanwhile, while Lyf and Isuzu were preoccupied, Marmalade was gathering the necessary equipment for the soul transfer. Finally approaching the two, she held out a band fitted with a cord that ran to a bank of monitors to Isuzu. "I need you to attach this to your waist; it interfaces with your SPINE system in order to complete the soul transfer, and then I want you to lay on the examining table." Marmalade walked away as soon as she was rid of the cords, and stood ready at a console. "Whenever you're ready, dear."

Re: Mission 1 Prologue

Fitting the interface with practiced ease, Isuzu glanced down at herself one last time. "What about my old body? Recycled?" she asked curiously, mounting the table and lying down.
