Ren's eyes snapped open seconds before her 0500 notification. Having had an absolute time sense for avoiding trouble beat into her since she was little. She reviewed the message that Isuzu had left for her about the new infantry on the ship. Rolling out of her bunk she yawned and stretched in a very cat like manner. Scratching at her lower back she smacked her lips and began to dress in gym cloths.

Twenty seconds into dressing her alarm notified her to be up, Renko simply turned it off with a thought. Twenty seconds later Renko was standing over VelCroix-Hei.

"Wake up soldier. It's time for morning P.T. and we have one more infantryman to wake."

Without waiting for VelCroix-Hei Renko walked out the door and down to the second enlisted bunk room. Walking in without hesitation she approached Akira's back and reached for the back of his neck.

Telepathically shouting into Akira's mind, "RISE AND SHINE! TIME FOR PT!"

"Creepy-" Strelgar trailed off, the fact that she though that he was asleep made him chuckle. He kicked the pad when it made a noise making it slid into a corner. He jumped back onto his bed laying down acting like he was asleep, knowing that something was in fact going to bother him. when she showed up to wake him from a nonexistent sleep. It was so common now he could almost call every event he would be involved in, it just happened so much.

He crawled out of his bunk, as he stood and as quietly as he could he followed the woman. Boss lady know where to go, I follow her. He did so leaving his data pad to still make noise in the corner it rested.

Akira was dreaming. He was back on his farm, taking care of the largest tree stump they had. Legend had it that a demon had been imprisoned inside the tree long ago, but Akira believed not in such superstitious nonsense. If it was physical, it could be destroyed. Such was the nature of the many home-made explosives wrapped around the trunk.

As he sat back, well out of range of the shrapnel and any shock wave, the hairs on the back of his neck stood on end. It felt like something was watching him, something dark and demented. Checking to see if his twin sister stood behind him, all he saw was empty air. Shrugging, he crawled into the foxhole he had dug, and pressed the red button to remote detonate the explosives.

The stump was utterly destroyed, and all that was left was a smoking crater. Warmth spread through the cockles of his heart at the glorious sound, scent, hell, just watching the explosion had been awe-inspiring! It was his best one yet!

However, that warmth turned quickly into a chill as the smoke began to form into a shape 20 feet high. It formed the shape of his twin, looking around, then spotting the foxhole Akira had dug. It grinned, revealing pointed, flaming teeth, and it ran across the ground toward him. Akira tried to climb out of the hole, almost making it, only to fall back in as the moist earth

Moist earth? It had been dry that day

gave way under his footing. When he looked up, his sister was coming straight at him from the sky, all teeth and claws. It opened its mouth, as if to eat him. Akira covered his head with his arms as the monster roared, "RISE AND SHINE! TIME FOR PT!"

Akira woke up, leaping from his bed and landing feet first on the floor. His eyes looked up to meet Renko, his twin sister, and he just shook his head. Telpathically, he responded. "Hi sis."

Sighing Renko got directly in Akira's face and thought furiously at him. "WHAT WAS THAT?! DOWN AND GIVE ME A HUNDRED SANTO HEI!"

Renko stabbed her finger at the floor to make her point. It was taking all her military control not to box his ears like their mother did when they were flippant.

Before he knew it, Akira was on the floor, doing a hundred push-ups as quietly as possible. It was more ingrained in him than anything, when a superior officer gives you an order, you respond with: "How high?"

What puzzled Akira, and why he was searching the rank listings of the Moirai, was why his twin was asking this. When he discovered why, Akira winced. Oh god, oh god, I am going to die by the hands of my sister.

He finished the hundred, and bowed to Renko, taking a step back so as not to bump into her. His thought back was meek and colored with a slight bit of embarressment. "Sorry Ma'am. I didn't know you were in charge."

"Well now you do. And now were five minutes late for PT. Which means were going to have to work five times faster! NOW MOVE!" Renko hissed the last as loud as she dared as she pointed at the door. "both of you move! I want fifty laps around every hall on the ship now!"

Shifting to a private circut with Marmalade Renko became far more polite. "Marmalade? Could you do me a favor and increase the gravity to two gee's in the halls while we run?"

Kumiko groaned and managed to roll off of the bed before waking up, unconsciously trying to swat that dratted alarm that she had meant to change from 5. After picking herself up, and dressing, she heard some of the other crew members up and about, though seeing as she was still half asleep, it was a miracle this registered at all. Some how finding determination in her subconscious, she headed down the ship to find coffee.

"Really only fifty? Fifty sounds to little-" Strelgar said flippantly, he always had to work hard and well fifty on this small ship didn't sound like enough exercise. "Make it more for me please." He said as he saluted his right fist hitting his left shoulder. A sly smile formed on his face, as he slid his long bangs from his face.

Renko looked at VelCroix-Hei a little stupidly for a second before she smiled at him.

"You're new here so I'll let it slide but we bow here. As for the fifty laps. I wouldn't worry about them so much. If your not huffing by the end of the first lap we'll deal with it."

The smile dropped into a scowl and she got right in his face.

"NOW RUN!"

On the second floor of the Engineering bay, Isuzu was reviewing the ship's equipment loadout when she received a forwarded approval request to increase the simulated gravity in the ship's corridors. Frowning slightly, Isuzu checked her internal clock before replying directly to Ren.

Fifteen minutes.

She then sent a general notification to the crew.

Attention, all crew onboard the YSS Moirai: gravity within the central corridor will be increased to 2.2 times Yamataian Standard for the next fifteen minutes while the infantry detachment conducts morning PT. That is all.

Isuzu turned back to the display panel she was examining and continued with her inspection.

Marmalade immediately increased the gravity as per the request and set a timer for fifteen minutes.

"Thanks I'll make it quick." Renko shot back even as she began to run at her fullest down the corridor.

"Move you slackers! I don't wanna see those feet hit the floor!"

"That is not very interesting." Strelgar moaned he really wanted to run more. "Fine-" He started his light run, which with his leg length and the fact that he was freakishly taller than almost everyone, made him move farther with less steps. I feel a little- heavier, he kept on jogging forwards barely feeling his own weight crushing him.

It was one of fathers training styles, he would load down Strelgar with his equivalent body weight and run all day. The first day for him was the toughest, but after a week he could run with double his body weight no sweat.

"Move you slackers! I don't wanna see those feet hit the floor!"

"So this is exercise-" He muttered as he made larger steps to make even with the woman that was barking orders. "I guess it works," he shrugged as he moved his bangs from his face again. I need to braid my hair again, otherwise it will become a problem. Each foot landing after the other, just a casual workout for Strelgar.

Kumiko sighed, and moved off as quickly as she could to get out of the hallways. Just because it was about time for her to exercise, that didn't mean she wanted to work THAT much.

Galar woke with a large yawn. It was 0506 and just in time to get prepared for the briefing and departing the station. Quickly, he checked the logs, and yes, the items he had requested had arrived and been placed into the storage areas.

These have been delivered as per orders. The Slyph Power Armors that used to be inside the Moirai have been replaced with these armors.

Noting that the gravity had been turned up in the hallways in order to train, Galar smiled; Ren was doing well in her position of command. She might do well as an XO. With a little more training and experience, that may well be a good decision to make. Galar started to wash up and change into fresh clothing; nothing made a better start of a mission as being fully ready. Marmalade, I would like you to bring a nice glass from the mess hall for each of the crew, myself included.

Renko poured on more speed to make sure she stayed in front of VelCroix-Hei, wouldn't due to let a junior officer out do her. She toyed with the idea of doubling the gravity again, but decided that it would place too much of a strain on the poor Geshrin's heart. The increased gravity would do enough as it was.

Renko was only planning on a light calisthenics to see where her crew sat as well as to enforce discipline, but so far the new recruits weren't showing the ideals she had hoped.

"Right lets step it up lady's! Double time!"

To prove her commands she leaned into it and began to sprint full tilt down the corridors. Renko was determined to show the two recruits that just because she was small, especially in her brothers case, she was by no means a wimp or deserving of their respect or loyalty.

The lady was running as if she had something to prove. "Please don't hurt yourself..." He muttered as she pulled away from him, he was feeling the weight of his very own body on his shoulders. It was the fact that he wasn't feeling the strain, just the fact that he now found the familiar weight of his youth on his shoulders. His father running him like this, every day nonstop. He pushed himself forward, only proving that he was only running lightly. As kept his pace, he felt sorry for the woman having to prove herself. When in his view of things she was more than enough for the command of this small soldier group. "Please don't hurt yourself..." he muttered again as he kept pace evened his breathing and used his mind to control the rate his heart beat. Sleep might come from this foolish action I just caused. Oh well lets see what comes of this.

The woman seemed to prove that she had someones vote and respect. He shook his head as his long hair got in his face again. Remember to braid hair after this Strelgar you stupid ox. He thought as he looked forward and continued.

I will not be breathing hard at the end of this, I will control my body. Not let it control me- He started to think about all the words his father preached. It wasn't the fact that he respected his father it is just, his father was the one who turned him into the warrior he is. His vision was blurring, he kept on moving forward foolishly.

Strelgar's heart, beating within his chest, responded to his brain's commands overriding his medulla's regulation. With the strain operating on Strelgar's body, and the immense need of red blood cells for the muscles expanding and contracting at the extremities of their functions, his heart just couldn't keep up. The need for red blood cells was simply to high to compete with Strelgar's iron grip over his heart rate. With a crash, Stelgar smashed face-first into the corridor's floor.

Strrelgar's vision blurred and fell into darkness due to the lack of blood to his brain. Rendered unconscious, Strelgar would not be able to finish the drill anytime soon; he had pushed his geshrin body far beyond its limits.

An alert lit one of the screens Isuzu had open, followed by a video feed of a man lying face down in the ship's central corridor. It appeared to be VelCroix-Hei; a scan indicated that he was unconscious, but not in serious condition. I wonder how that happened...

Opening another screen, Isuzu located Lyf in his quarters, only a few dozen feet down the hall from the fallen man. She shot the medic a quick message:

Kenna-Hei, please collect VelCroix-Hei. He is in the central corridor toward the fore of the ship. Endoh-Hei will be there in a moment to assist you. He should be woken and examined before the mission briefing.

Isuzu sent a quick message to Kumiko to go into the corridor and help Lyf; she'd already verified that the other engineer was nearby, and she would have gone herself, but... that reminded her: she still had to ask Marmalade about her 'condition.' Isuzu hadn't seen any of the sprites for more than a few seconds all morning, as they were all busy with getting the ship under way. I suppose it can wait for the meeting... she decided.

By not letting his heart speed up he in himself caused it. It is just he desperately needed rest and with all that crushing force it would allow it. Call him suicidal, all wanted was to do something to kill the time. Time is all he had now, after losing the second person of his heart. He lived like a puppet, not really living at all just another zombie created from the bowels of hell.

Sleep was his time of zen and to revisit nightmares of his past, he needed to find a way to escape them. He couldn't handle the dreams, every time he fell asleep he always ended up in a different place.

The face of his mother first flashed before his eyes with the words, "there is always a battle fought in mans heart, love and hate." He could feel every sorrow being surfaced, it every day tore his fragile soul apart. Then there was Jecria, she looked so close to his mother it made him sob like an old man visiting happier times. Jecria his second and most treasured love, a woman barely twenty diagnosed with a curse to die. Lies, it was no curse, she was dying from leukemia a simple and deadly blood killing disease. She would become his second love and most beloved, of course she also died in his arms just like his mother. Strelgar laughed as tears streamed down his cheeks, in his memories.

He lost so much, and now he walked a corpse of false interest. Mock caring for life, call him suicidal. He tried to kill himself over and over again, charging madly into bullets. He lived with only a few wounds to his limbs, he cried. Then he found that bracer of his mothers the pain was erased, almost as if it was put into hiding.

Now he lay there his body forcing him to obey the laws of the world, his father would laugh at him for being so stupid.

His eyes slowly flinched he couldn't sleep in peace even in black outs. He carried one emotion now, sorrow he was a sin and is now reborn as was Nuos. He didn't want to move, stuck in that stupid half conscious fate. "Ah-" he wisped, everything was clear now. I seek death and death wont seek me, I am a damned soul. I-i can't believe it I am like Nuos my deity. He felt a tear roll down his cheek, his vision would remain blurry when he looked into the mirror. He had tears in his eyes, simply he was there an old relic of the past, I have my memories and that is all. He closed his eyes again, just letting time sleep away to engulf in his sorrow.

He knew now that he wasn't meant to remain in his body forever. Lets change my strength, lets evolve to become the next great emotion of battle. He fell to unconsciousness, his dreams ended as the choice was made. I will get strength to begin my lords work. He thought, as he lay there his mind racing, as he realized that these people were only puppets on the strings of something greater. Or this could all have been caused by his brains lack of oxygen for a few minutes.

Akira followed them out, stepping into the hallway and feeling the sudden difference in his body. This is new...nicely done. He slowed, letting his sis and the giant run forward in what appeared to be a race. He knew his body could handle the strain of double gravity, but it was better not to risk it and let it adjust first, then catch up.

So he started out at a jog, after a minute, going into a run. Two minutes more put him into a sprint as he raced down the corridor. He slowed at the turns so he would slip and fall, and once had to jump; the giant had fallen. He didn't stop and help, he had to catch up to his sister. The sweat flowed freely as he sprinted through the halls of the Moirai. He queried the ship concerning the location of his sis, double-checking that he was one the right track, and booked it to catch up.
