RP: 5th XF [Yugumo Mission 1] Day 1: Perdition's Flames

"Roger that." Camellia replied as she then switched to inter-fighter comm. "Ok, we're green." She said before hitting the after burn and rocketing her hyuga out the Hanger doors.

Confirmation. A gradual humming filled Kishou's ears; a soft, warm feeling of life sweeping through her vehicle, her tool. The CFS activated. The Hyuga left the ground and hovered almost silently in the air. There was nothing more to do now than follow Sarri-san's lead.

"And we are good to go!â€

Caine just sat, relaxing in the XO's chair on the command dais for a few minutes as Kiyoko got up and filtered herself over toward science. He was still partially waking up and all as he sipped the tea that had been brought up. Man tea, wasn't his style, he prefered coffee with two sugars and cream but beggars can't be choosers. After a short while, he'd get up to stretch his legs out and steppd down off the dais and casually just walked past the stations, checking over their operators shoulders at the displays ready to offer help or support. The first one he got to was Akira. "How's it going? ya nervous?" he asked him casually.

A step of faith-the crew of the Yugumo took their first plunge into the unknown as they broke off from the rest of the Fifth Expeditionary Fleet; it was unlikely they would cross paths again in the near future.

The Last Firstborn, Forever Forward.

Shosa's Log- Alpha Shift-Day 1

The crew is overjoyed with the beginning of our first mission. We are taking the first steps into the unknown, towards our future and the future of our fleet. All departments are reporting condition green, morale is high and I could not be more pleased. In lieu of my intended senior staff, a competent group of enlisted have stepped up and proven their worth.

However, it is getting late, and if breakfast is not brought to the conference room shortly, I may just eat a datapad-that might shock Caine and Tesuro.

Kiyoko nudged Tesuro lightly as she continued on her rounds, See you at breakfast. The lift on the aft starboard corner opened, inside there was two neko's embracing each other in the deepest of kisses, Kiyoko giggled seeing them, and with that interrupted them and the two entered the bridge. Plum was a short stature neko with taun pale skin and bluish hair frosted at the tips a bright purple. Poma nearly a twin to Plum but her hair was frosted a dark red at the tips.

"Morning Kiki-sama!â€

Akira simply nodded to the absent wave that Creighton had given him; attending this and that. It was probably a good thing that he could get on his own; as Iktatsu wasn't around to help him at all. Navigation was an easy job; or so it seemed, if one was intelligent. He was not bored, so long as he had something to occupy himself with, and when he began to run out of processes to go through, he would read more so he might become better at his job.

As the Shosa commented on his good work, he smiled slightly; those lovely lips curving, opening slightly to gleam those white pearls in the synthetic lights of the bridge. He gave a sigh of elation; he was finally doing a job, on a Command Cruiser, and in the bridge. He was rather glad he didn't have to pilot one of the escorting fighters; he didn't care much for piloting. Not that he couldn't do it, but he did prefer other things.

But his thoughts were interrupted by the Ionoche; Caine-Chui. Akira's smile lessened appropriately as he looked at the man. He whom had reached out the night before, when the rudeness of Ichiro and Kiyoe was rather brusque. He allowed a slightly melodic chuckle exhume from those taut lips, but before he spoke the chuckle had ended; his tones once more of plush softness,

"Nervous? No, I am hardly ever nervous; I believe that emotion is very unwise; especially when we're doing something like this. Because I've found when you're nervous, you're easily overcome: Wouldn't you say?â€

Caine perked a brow and brushed his hair out of his eyes before speaking again. "You're right." He said. "Being nervous and hesitating will get you killed quicker than anything I've learned." Caine said in agreement. "But personally I've got a bad feeling about this 'creepy passage' so the moment you start getting any anomalus readings, let us know immediately. Even if it seems like it's small." He said to Akira. "But what's your feelings about this?" The blonde asked him, casting a momentarily glance over at the twins as they came squabbling in. "Hmm I guess that means breakfast will be soon."

"Woohoo!" Not to be outdone, Kiyoe goaded her fighter to rocket forward, staying just behind the other two. She'd changed her Hyuga's interior projectors to show the outside view across the entire interior of the cockpit, and she was enjoying the feeling immensely--it wasn't quite as nice as flying a power armor, but it would do for now.

Akira's eye brow quirked ever-so slightly as he made his little worried statement about "Creepy Passageâ€

Dirj took note of the key the man next to him had pressed before looking over at him. Expressionless, he nodded once.

"Thanks." he said, turning back to his own display. He pressed the key again to zoom the display back out, and redirected the sensors forward, focusing out to a slightly wider range. Four blips that had not been there before caught his eye. Dirj focused the sensors and repeated the command his neighbor had shown him.

The display zoomed in to show a wing of Hyuga fighters, slowly moving forward to a scout position forward of the Yugumo. As the WIES interpreted incoming data, the pilots' names appeared alongside each fighter, as well as a blue ovular ring around each ship that Dirj guessed was meant to indicate their shield strength.

Dirj ignored the names and zoomed the display out again. Fighter pilots were likely to just cause trouble for people like him, anyway. Why bother learning their names? Dirj rolled the wheel back a bit to widen the sensor beam and then leaned back in his chair to watch the display.

Xanatos had finished transmitting the data to Creighton. He sighed slightly as he thought that getting some breakfast would be a wonderful idea right about now. He looked around to see what everyone else was doing.

Roken was the last of the group as he launched from the hangar and formed up with the others. Roken changed his interior projectors so he had a better view of the surroundings, "well it looks like smooth sailing hereâ€

Camellia took point in the formation. She was the senior member and as such it was her responsability to lead the new troops. After a second to check her systems again, Camellia brought up the inter-ship comm.

"Ok, get ready for the jump. Remember, it's only one lightyear."

(Ok, make prep posts. Don't actually jump yet. GM's orders. And CB, Cam's last name has two rs. It's Sarri.)

Having survived their encounter with the Miharu the remains of a Mishhuvurthyar Skirmish Battlegroup-consisting of: a Blrakkrashiverinth Battleship and two of her Ghullfrashirv Destroyers were sent to scout out the regions surrounding the Katsuko's Nebula and to return to their base at Bizranko. With its main gun not operational and many of its pods destroyed the Blrakkrashiverinth was wounded, yet not pacified. The destroyers left with only a fraction of their torpedo ordinances. The ships within the group had suffered another trial-their Gravimetric Drive and Shield systems were severely weakened, and a lot of their power generation system offline caused by phenomenon encountered within the Creepy Passage, leaving them further hindered as they headed back towards Bizranko.

The four Hyuga Fighters broke free of the Katsuko's Nebula and their sensor systems returned to normal, immediately the three Mishhuvurthyar ships would pop up on their displays

The Yugumo trailed by her three Sakura Gunships emerged right behind the fighters, their saving grace that they had not separated. The three ships would flash up on Tesuro and Dirj's displays.

Yugumo announced: Mishhuvurthyar vessels within attack perimeter.

Ritsuko's eyes widened as the three enemy vessels showed up on her scanners. Holy shit... She powered up her Mindy's weapons and did a flyby of the Yugumo's command dome positioning between other members of delta wing at the bow of the ship. "Delta Wing, hold formation and prepare to engage the enemy!â€

Kiyoe tapped her volumetric display when it showed hostile targets on her sensor feeds, until the realization that there actually were enemies out there hit her. Big ones, it seemed. Now things were getting interesting. Only her military training kept her from charging straight toward the enemy--or, as an increasingly large chunk of her mind was suggesting, charging directly away from them.

Rather than ask her wing leader for orders, as orders would obviously be coming, she leaned back and took a deep breath. This wasn't her simulated combat from basic training, and it certainly wasn't her hand-to-hand practice brawls with patrons in her father's bar. It was time to put years of learning to beat people up to good use, finally. She felt excited, but was surprised to find that she didn't feel particularly nervous. All I've gotta do is dodge better than the other guy shoots, right?

On the other hand, lasery beams of energy death are probably a bit harder to dodge than swipes from half drunken men, another part of her mind chipped in helpfully. She tried not to pay attention to that one.

Dirj shot forward in his seat. The sensor display flashed red, as the WIES identified multiple hostile targets, painting each blip crimson. The impetus of snapping forward nearly carried Dirj out of his seat.

"Shit!" he cried out aloud, before he was able to check himself. He looked around sheepishly, but the Shosa was already giving out orders and was too busy to reprimand him for shouting out. Exhaling slowly to calm himself, Dirj took the controls, clumsily passing the scanners over the enemy battlegroup, he zoomed in on their co-ordinates, and the red blurs sharpened a bit.

"Urgh, what the hell are those supposed to be?" Dirj grumbled, to himself. "These damn Mishnu ships always look the same to me... Agh, where's the key that sends this crap up to the main screen?"

At least Yugumo must have overheard Dirj's muttering, for one of the numerous switches on his panel lit up and he switched it on. The Bridge's main screen then lit up, mirroring what Dirj had displayed on his screen. He went back to concentrating on focusing the scanners, trying to get the blips to sharpen more. Although he still hadn't gotten used to how sensitive the controls were, he met with some slight success.

Caine's expression grew cold, almost icy in a moment when the ship announced the arrival of enemy ships and returned to his chair and sat down. He didn't have the SPINE interface so he'd have to do this manually, he looked over at Kiyoko with a look meant to reassure her. Don't worry, we'll be alright, first thing I suggest is that we ensure that the PSC is operating at full power. He said to her telepathically as the display came up. "It looks like they're already heavily damaged and haven't quite noticed us just yet." Caine mused. From his experience the best way to deal with these things were to target the weapons arrays and propulsion.

Caine opened communications to the sylph armors that were deployed around the ship. "Scramble. When you get within range of the enemy, open fire on their weapons and propulsion systems." The blonde ordered through the comm system to the armor wings. "stay alert for pod ambushes." He said as well, favoring pre-emptive tactics here if possible. His hand tightened it's grip on the armrest of the chair as a strange sense of excitment swept over him for a moment.

Creighton said nothing as the alert came up of the approaching Mishu battlegroup. His eyes opened slightly wider at this new sense of impending doom. But with a voice of reason commanding him, Creighton sprung into action. Dashing from his seat, he made for the tactical console just ahead of him.

"Xanatos, you have the ship. Yugumo assist him and close the bridge's dome!" Creighton barked as he slammed into the tactical station's seat. Tracing his fingers across the console screen, Creighton began activating weapons and tactical maps. Above the bridge crew a silvery object began to slide across the dome, within a few seconds the bridge would be encased in its protective shell.

"Strikers going active. Yugumo load Type-29s, transphasic aether warheads. Begin charging all SEPCs." Creighton called off as he brought up the tactical screen for the Yugumo's power armors. He made a silent prayer of thanks that the CFS was active and running at full power. "Yugumo deploy variable pods, use them as point defense against enemy missile and torpedo barrages, we can't afford to let any through!"

Barely after leaving the nebula the Yugumo began to bristle with activity as its weapons began unfolding from their housings. Rapid launch bays began to open to spill their payload onto the battlefield. Upon Caine's command, all the M4s began to leap into the fray.

Creighton made a second prayer for the power armor pilots. The first barrage between dueling vessels was always the worst. With a note the Yugumo informed Creighton that the SEPCs were charged and ready. Adjusting his seating posture Creighton began to interface with WARMS and start targeting procedures on the lead Ghullfrashirv destroyer.

Tesuro's heart raced, pounding intensely against his ribs. Again he entered into his alert, soldier mode, and all personal thoughts were put into the back of his mind for later. For now, all of his energy was focused upon the survival of those sent into the fray.

Dirj had already taken care of sending the scanner readings to the bridge's main screen; Tesuro's response was only to nod in appreciation to his partner before he began spouting loads of readout information directly to Kiyoko's terminal as ordered:

"Shosa! We are facing what would appear to be a Blrakkrashiverinth style SMX battleship, supported by two Ghullfrashirv Destroyer escorts. All ships have sustained major damage; the Blrakkrashiverinth has an unoperational main cannon and major pod destruction. I cannot see the conditions of the Destroyers' weapons, but proceed with extreme caution; the torpedos may still be operational and capable of extreme damage! Readings show that the enemy's Sheilds and Propulsion Systems have been nearly eliminated, so we are at a clear advantage. That is all I have for the readings--I am ready and awaiting further orders, Shosa!"

All his personal feelings for Kiyoko were gone in this time, and Tesuro operated almost as a machine; reading to take any orders given to him from Kiyoko or any of his other superiors.
