Kumiko moaned, and rolled over, putting her head under her pillow. Why did the have to wake us up, she lamented. I'll never get back to sleep now. She attempted to get back to sleep anyways, and failing at that, she inched over to the edge of her bed, and grabbed her clothes, and began to put them on.

Yoroko rolled over to the side of her bed, "Another day..." she mumbled with her eyes half open as she stood up and put on her uniform. After she had finished putting on her uniform she began to stretch out her muscles which were still sore from the day before. As Yoroko stretched she recalled yesterdays events and suppressed the rising bile in her throat as she thought about what had happened to the Neko, then Yoroko remembered what Noboru had said, and remembered that she had offered to spar him. "Noboru, " Yorko said looking at the mass a few bunks away that was Noboru, "you still up for a quick bout before 1200?" she asked while stretching out her legs.

Noboru had been up hours before the drill sergeant had called his morning greeting, and as such had been waiting for the sparring match all morning. First, however, he had to lodge an apology. Not in his nature, but he had to do it.

"Yoroko... Pshh. I'm sorry about yesterday; guess I just went a little overboard. I have a bit of an alter ego."

"Don't be sorry Noboru," Yoroko said as she finished stretching "you merely spoke your mind, at least you are honest about it. Besides, you didn't say anything about me, did you?"

And now it's my turn to talk. Yoroko thought as she walked outside the barracks and found a nice place to spar with Noboru, one that was slightly secluded, it's not that she didn't want anyone else to come, but rather she didn't want an instructor to stop it.

"Ready whenever you are." Yoroko said dropping into a nuetral stance.

Krasus yawned and jumped up immediately, he put on his clothes and went outside of the Barracks.
He looked up at the sky, thinking about his career up ahead. He thought briefly about his family, and then walked back into the barracks, looking for someone to talk to.
"Wheres Yoroko and Noboru? Are they already 'sparring'?" he asked Kumiko, thinking she knew.

Kai rolled out of bed a bit later than the others. after a week, he had begun getting used to the mornings, and since they had the morning off, he decided not to hurry. Slipping his usual ensemble off his ears, he stretched and yawned, noting Yuril was also still asleep, but Yoroko had disappeared. Oh well the Yamataian thought, slipping out of bed and into his uniform. he walked to Yuril and gently pushed on her shoulder "Nnh, Yuril, Wake up!" he called to the sleeping Neko.

"Very well then. I'm not gonna go easy on you, so you shouldn't either. Just don't kill me." Noboru cracked his knuckles and got into a fighting stance, feet wide and stable, arms held in a guarding position across chest and face.

Yoroko began circling Noboru "So is that really the reason that you don't like Nekos? They just won't die?" Yoroko asked as circled. "You don't like something that will lay down and die?! When you get stabbed do you want to die?" Yoroko continued to circle, "well, let me tell you something Noboru, I don't want to die," Yoroko said as she kicked forcefully at his chest, there was anger in her voice.

Yuril had sort of gotten used to the normal routine of waking up in the Fort but was surprised to be roused by... Contact? The neko rolled in the direction of the contact and yelped instinctively.

"Don't do that... I'd woken up on my own Kai-kun...", she yawned, "Now uh... Turn around Kai-kun. Look at the wall..."

Once satisfied she wasn't being looked at she hopped out of bed and quickly got dressed before her friend decided a peek or two may be worth it.

The kick made contact with such force Noboru swore he felt ribs cracking underfoot. He cursed loudly and coughed, his goggles flying through the air and shattering on a nearby tree. He himself also flew a few feet before landing, rolling and coming to a stop blind, dazed and in obvious pain.

"Damnit... I told you, that wasn't me me, it was my alter ego me... Battle ego." He couldn't bear to say much else between the fact that it felt like his chest had been ripped open and he wasn't used to apologies. he looked at his chest. Sure enough, there was a footprint on his chest, and underneath there was probably a nice red welt. No broken ribs from a brief touch test. He felt a few vertebra pop when he landed, and he tasted blood- probably bit a good portion of his tongue on landing.

When asked to, Kai turned around, always respective of his friend's wishes. Besides, peeking on a Neko who didn't like to be immodest in front of people was never a good idea.

Still turned around, Kai asked "Since we've got the morning off, you wanna go do anything,Yuril-Chan?"

"Well... I don't really have any ideas Kai-kun. What do people do on days off?"

Yuril paused to smooth out her uniform, as she waited for her friend's response.

"Sometimes, Days off are just like the way yesterday started, without the Mishhu attacking. Other days, people sit around, play games, or work on things they haven't had time for. Me? I like to practice my swordfighting" Kai said, hinting towards the trunk at the end of his bunk, which contained numerous wooden training swords. "Is there anything fun you like to do, Yuril?" The Yamataian asked.

While Kai was busy talking with Yuril, Kiyoshi noted him looking at his trunk while talking about swords. He crept over to Kai's trunk and opened it, pulling out two training swords. "Sweet!" he said to himself. "Hey Kai, Yuril!" he shouted. He tossed a sword to Kai, hoping he would catch it before it hit him. He tossed one to Yuril after, hoping she saw it coming as well. After grabbing one himself he walked over to the two.

"How about a quick sword fight, all three of us, free for all! We need to pass the time before we go."

Kai turned around just in time to catch a bokken that had been flung at him by Kiyoshi, then narrowly avoided the one he sent at Yuril "Sure, I guess, okay with you, Yuril-chan?" He asked, making sure.

The neko was pondering over Kai's question when she heard the sound of something being thrown her way. Without so much as turning in the direction of the tossed practice sword, she snatched it out of midair.

"Well... I suppose we could do that.", Yuril paused to inspect the sword, "Although I'd have to go easy on you all or I may end up breaking some bones..."

A soft giggle helped, she hoped, reassure she was kidding that she'd break their bones.

Suddenly the realization at how hard she had hit Noboru dawned on her, although she was almost in tears she walked over to Noboru and tried to help prop him up in a sitting position against a tree. "Am I alive or not Noboru? Or am I just....." Yoroko was sobbing by this point "just something that won't die?" As Yoroko said this she put her back against the tree.

Krasus was watching Yoroko and Noboru, wondering if he should go over and help Noboru.
"No; they need to work it out on their own." he said to himself, he sat down in a shadowwy patch next to a wall.

"I guess I misunderstood my purpose for that before. You could technically be described as living, but I thought Nekovalkyrja were androids." Noboru spat the blood in his mouth and groped around the base of the tree, eventually finding his welding goggles. The sun reflected off of one of the intact lenses and shone through the empty socket where one lens was before.

"Shit. Try not to kick me so hard next time."

Kumiko, noting that the others were all occupied, got out a piece of paper and a pen, and began to sketch, with no real end result in mind. Hopefully Noboru and Yoroko will work this out without having to hurt each other. she thought. It would really suck to have one of them in the infirmary this early in our careers.
