"Take care of each other. Watch your backs, and help each other out. I guarantee you'll be much happier with the results. The sooner you're acting like a squad, the sooner you'll be able to work as a squad, and that will make your lives much easier." Aendri shrugged. "Or you can keep dicking around, and go through what will potentially be the worst time of your life. We're just here to make you ready, I don't care how much you enjoy it." With that, he turned on his heel and left the room, struggling to keep a smile off of his face. Thank god I didn't have to deal with that one. I don't know if I could've kept a straight face at the whole panties thing.

So here is where my new life begins.

The new recruit covered her eyes for a moment as she adjusted to the new light coming from the the shuttle's opening. She lowered her hand as she got to the top of the ramp and saw the grassy landscape of the planet UX-13 I, what would be her home during her training.

Well at least it looks pretty... Keiko thought as she walked down the ramp, inmediatly noticing that it was harder to do so than she was used to. ... though the gravity really doesn't contribute to the experience.

Still she could see the sense of building a training facility on a world with heavier gravity. Boot Camp was supposed to be a hellish experience, so feeling everything heavier fitted right in with what she had imagined.

Keiko sighed, adjusting her bag strap over her shoulder to make it a bit more confortable and with her other hand she took out her orders reading them one more time while she waited.

"Get to UX-13 I then report to Nitô Heisho Valencia Ramiro or Honorary Joto Hei Aendri Shasos'Shol... that's a difficult name..."

Noticing a bench nearby Keiko went there to sit for the moment to wait. She then said to nobody in paticular "I wonder what kind of person they are." Even thought she suspected that they would be the terror in her life for a good while now she couldn't avoid but feel hopeful. Well at least the view is nice...

Keiko smiled slightly, looking at the scenery as she waited.

Ramiro's comm buzzed to signal that it was 5:20 and time to get up. He quickly woke up, changed, showered, shaved, brushed his teeth, and had enough time to grab a metal pot and spoon and arrive at the recruits' room with 30 seconds to spare. At promptly 5:30 the wake up call could be heard coming from the parade grounds. Ramiro started banging the pot and spoon together. "Rise and shine ladies. It's late! 5:30am. Report to flags in promptly 30 minutes. Breakfast will be served at 0615." With that Ramiro turned and left the room. He walked down to the instructor's wing of the barracks and found Aendri. "Alright let's go, training starts today." Ramiro let out a big grin as he thought of all the fun they would have today.

---------------------
Just then Keiko could see a cloud of dust on one of the dirt roads. The cloud got bigger and then a vehicle could be faintly seen coming down the road. When the LUT arrived the driver pulled up about a foot from Keiko. The she didn't even bother to get out when she said, "Yamauchi-Hei? We've been expecting you. Get in." The lady waited for Keiko to get into the vehicle and then took off down the road towards the campus.

Yup, that would be me.

Keiko nodded once and then bowed her head slightly at the lady driving the vehicle. Since she didn't seem to want to waste a lot of time she quietly got into the passenger seat.

She rested her head on her hand as she looked to the road ahead.

Aendri was already sitting at his desk, dressed and ready to go. He was typing something when Ramiro came, but he quickly ended that and stood. "Of course. The recruits already up and moving, or do we get to go poke them along?" He belted his sword on, knife and pistol also included today. "I'm ready when you are, by the way."

"Oh, ouch." Ramiro started to say with a slightly sympathetic look. "I already took care of it. But I'm sure there will be more opportunities to screw with them." Ramiro let out a grin as he said this. "And we have a late-comer arriving this morning, She should be at the front gate just after flags." Ramiro then left the room and waled out to the parade grounds. At promptly 6:00 the flag ceremony started. It took roughly ten minutes before it was done. Upon conclusion the recruits were instructed to report to their designated instructors. Ramiro raised a hand so his duo could find him.

----------------------------

The LUT took of down the road, leaving a trail of dust behind. After a 20 minute drive a gate with a checkpoint could be seen in the distance. Once the LUT reached he checkpoint the driver handed some papers to one of the guards, who leafed through them. He waved the driver through at which point she pulled into the campus and then parked on the side of the road. "They just finished with flag ceremonies. You'll want to find your instructors, which for you shouldn't be too hard. You're looking for a tall, mean looking guy and a man with a sword at his waist." At that the driver waited for Keiko to get out and then took off down the road.

Osaka was the last of everything since she was a late sleeper, last to breakfast, last to the flags, however the first to the meeting spot. It seemed even boot camp couldn't change her sleeping habits as her eyes drooped and her hand lazily drifted into the air. "Osaka here sir, ready to go." she said in a tired voice.

Got it, so tall, mean looking man and sword guy...That sounds just wonderful

Keiko got off the vehicle and waved goodbye to the lady that drove her all this way as she took off. Once that was done she slung her bag over her shoulder, tried to adjust once again to the uncomfortable gravity and then took off herself. It shouldn't be too hard to find where people were gathered for the flag ceremony.

It didn't take the new recruit too long to find her new superiors in the crowd of new recruits. At least they seemed a lot better than the mental image she had conjured out of the brief description the lady had given her.

She picked the tall man to approach out of the two, he was a little bit closer and he didn't seem to have a sharp murder implement hanging at his waist.

Once she was at his side she gave him a little bow before saying... Oh how did it went?... Oh yeah "Yamauchi Keiko Santo Hei, reporting for training. I'm looking for Nitô Heisho Valencia Ramiro or Honorary Joto Hei Aendri Shaso..." Keiko struggled a little to pronounce the last part of the name "Shaso...s'Shol"

Having been one of the first to rise and make it to breakfast, Yoshiko had a bit of time to linger and enjoy her food, figuring that after today things would get much busier.

The flag ceremony being over at quick as it started, Yoshiko then looked for her instructor. Finding him was relatively easy as he was rather tall. Yoshiko then made her way over to where he was standing, just after the other recruits and bowed in respect. "Santô Hei Yoshiko Kit, reporting Sir!"

Ramiro glanced down at a small clipboard. "Yamauchi-Hei, you're with us for the duration. There are three others currently in our platoon and if you have any questions, don't ask; consider whether the knowledge is important or if you should already know it, then ask." He turned to look at the small group. "Alrighty, today's the first day of the hardest few months of your lives. Today is review of stuff that you should have learned at boot camp and then we'll go into basic training. Report to the school house immediately." Ramiro then walked over to the LUT he had parked on the road and sped off to the school.

Well then... I won't be asking much... if I can help it. Keiko thought.

After her new Nito Heisho gave his orders Keiko realized tha she didn't knew where the school house was. I'll guess I'll follow him, if the other recruits start running somewhere else... Well then I guess I'll very embarrased but nothing I'll die of.

And so the new recruit sped off after the LUT, with her small bag and a whole lot of gravity weighting her down.

As her commander left, Osaka's shoulders fell slightly, "It feel like we just got here..." she complained, as she followed the others to the schoolhouse.

Upon arrival she would take a seat in the middle if it was available.

Ramiro pulled up in front of the school house, pausing to let Aendri get out. He walked into the building and followed the posted signs to the room he had chosen out. He stepped into the medium-sized classroom, eight rows of desks across and six back. He walked to the front of the room. "Alright, after review I think It would be best to do skills and equipment first, and then do combat later. So, would you rather cover equipment familiarization or damage control? And then we'll split the skills training."

Aendri followed Ramiro in, taking up a position just inside and to the side of the door. "I'll take care of familiarization. We're just reviewing right now, so it should go fairly quickly." He paused, thinking. "Which one of us is going to go over equipment maintenance? I'm willing, since it ties in so well to mine."

Ramiro thought for a second, "Well I forgot to add that to the curriculum, but that would make sense if you did it. My current list for Phase II has basic combat, hand-to-hand, skills, equipment, damage control, zero-g, and teamwork. I figured we would save the combat stuff for later since combat tactics won't do any good if they don't know how to use the weapons, which leaves equipment, damage control, and skills. Teamwork can slowly get tied in, since how your work together varies for each area of work. For equipment you have..." Ramiro pulled a sheet of paper out of his pocket. "Protective suits, power armors, the NSP, other common, personnel weaponry, LUTs and STVs, and aeroshuttles. It's a lot to cover so obviously we can trade off if one of us isn't as familiar with a piece of equipment." Ramiro paused for feedback before adding, "And where are those blasted recruits!? What's taking so long?"

I hate this gravity...

Keiko was the first to get to the classroom, in part due to her natural speed and in part thanks to the head start she got because she started running after the LUT almost as soon as it departed for the school. Once there she took a second to catch her breath at the door, one hand in the door frame.

Damn... he doesn't look happy...

Once she looked up she noticed that her superior officer didn't look impressed with her time... or maybe it was the fact that she was resting? Either way she quickly made her way to a empty seat, on the far left of the front row.

Yoshiko made best possible speed to the school house, which thankfully wasn't that far from the parade grounds. She managed to arrive just as she heard their instructor say "And where are those blasted recruits!? What's taking so long?"

Yoshiko nodded to Yamauchi-Hei, as she passed by and headed to an empty seat near the back. 'Well this is an interesting start to the day' she though to herself.

Saito fallowed quickly, running towards the middle of the group. After arriving at the school house, she caught her breath before entering, since she wasn't the first one there. She didn't like appearing weak or untrained; she wasn't, it was the gravity that caused issues for her, but she knew that would soon change after the a few days. She ran her mind over what she learned trying to beat it into her mind before anyone asked her questions.

Ramiro walked over to the instructor's desk and pressed a few buttons on a control panel and the volumetric display at the back of the room projected a holographic screen near where he and Aendri would be teaching from. Once all of the recruits had filed in he looked up at all of them. "Welcome to your first day of training! We will start off with basic review of what you should already know and then go into basic training. Now as all of you should know the Star Army of Yamatai is organized like this..." Ramiro quickly pressed some of the holographic buttons on his display and a second holographic screen appeared displaying SAoY information. He paused a couple seconds to give recruits time to scan the information over before continuing. "The essential mission of the Star Army of Yamatai is to keep the Star Empire of Yamatai alive, protect its allies, and engage its enemies." The screen at the front of the room changed. "Our current major threat is the NMX, which we will discuss more later." Ramiro paused and looked over at Aendri, indicating that they should trade off.

Keiko sat on her seat with her cheek resting on her hand, trying to pay as much attention as posible. It didn't seem like today would be too bad, a review of general knowledge and basic training didn't sound too bad.

Yup, there is our glorious Army... we're in a mission to protect our friends and attack our enemies, simple really... and speaking of our enemies, there they are.

Keiko took special note of the NMX, even a bored thrill seeking girl like her didn't want to cross paths with those if she could avoid it, the nasty things. Still she had the very real premonition that she would have to deal with them fairly often in her future if she lived long enough to get there.
