Huh... the first of my fellow trainees to talk with me

"I'm Yamauchi, Keiko. It's really nothing, the recoil from the rifle was stronger than I expected. My arm hurts a little that's all." Keiko said, still holding her arm a little.

"Still, thanks for your concern"

Saki bowed again and said, "no sir, nothing specific. Sorry." Her face was red but she was glad that instructor didn't chew her. Which can still change.

Yoshiro smiled at Keiko. "I am glad that you are okay, Yamauchi-san. So, what made you decide to join the Star Army?" He said curiously. "You don't have to tell me if it is personal but I thought that getting to know my fellow trainees was a good idea."

He was still walking to the classroom but at a slow pace so that if Keiko wanted to she could keep up. The gravity was starting to get to him but he did his best not to show it.

"Well then, look up what you can in your spare time, or come sit with me at a meal sometime. For now, I'll be running you through some basic skills training, while my colleague here gets the stuff ready for the Equipment and Emergency sections. If you'd like to head on in...?" Aendri held the door, waving his colleague off at the same time.

"Well..."

Come on Keiko, why do you hesitate? It's no sob story nor anything like that

"My granduncle served in the Star Army. You could say he had an influence in me" Keiko said then adding in a more light-hearted tone "And... I was bored, so I decided to go face an universe full of dangers"

"So, what's your story? Your dad died holding off an entire enemy Armada while your mother gave birth to you, afterwards they sent you to a peaceful planet on the last escape pod with a message that said 'live a happy, tranquil life' which you refused since you want to get closer to their heroic lives by serving like they did?" Keiko asked making up a whole story on the spot.

Airo did his best not to eavesdrop on other conversations, instead focusing on his own thoughts and goals. He could not, however, prevent the words 'Your dad died holding off an entire enemy Armada' from entering his ears from the pair in front of him. Nor could he stop his expression from changing at the thought of his own lost parents. He knew the comment was not for him so he said nothing, but the reminder of his parents' loss was still hard on him. He hurried past Keiko and Yoshiro into the classroom and quickly found a seat before he regained his composure.

"I guess that I was a bit of a troublemaker when I was younger. I use to steal things from people and fight just for fun. I wasn't making my parents proud of me by doing that. After working with my dad for awhile, I started getting bored." Yoshiro said as they arrived at the classroom. He held the door open for Keiko.

"I joined because I thought that there was something better I could be doing than wasting my life away being a lazy bum so I joined up. Not much to tell after that. I signed my service contract and made my oath and here I am." He smiled at Keiko and waited for her to enter before he did.

Saki looked at instructor. He seemed nice, but she still knew that she has to show proper respect. "Yes sir! Thank you sir!" She replied to him, bowed adn went into class. Airo was already inside so she just sat next to him. She looked at him adn whispered. "Way to go, I made a doofus out of me right away."

"From troublemaker to recruit... quite a trip you did" Keiko said while entering the classroom. He's quite the gentleman, I'll make sure to get the door for him on the way out

"I'll sit in the front, want to come with me?"

Airo halfheartedly smiled to Saki at her embarrassment, but was still a bit shaken at the stirring of such a deeply repressed event. "It could be worse, Saki. At least you seem eager. A bit rash, sure, but willing is better than...what I did I guess." He sighed and waited patiently for instruction to begin. He propped his elbow on the desk and rested his head on his hand. "Wonder where the nice one went off to?"

"Yeah I suppose that's true. I don't want to be a bad person and I want to do the best I can." he responded as he walked in after Keiko. "Sure I'll sit up front with you." He was blushing a bit. He had never really talked with a girl as much as he was right now so he was starting to feel a bit awkward and nervous. He sat down and smiled to try and hide his awkwardness.

Saito was quiet on the way towards the class room. She listened intently to the others but spoke nothing. She didn't even think of her past because she knew she had nothing interesting to share. She hurried into the class room sitting in the middle of the second row keeping to herself for the most part.

Aendri stepped to the front of the room, settling in for what should be one of the more boring parts (In his opinion) of the training program. Sighing, he looked up at the class. "Now, we'll start this off with the medical section. Who among you has had medical training before?"

When Aendri addressed the class Airo perked up and listened carefully, hoping it would alleviate some of the nervousness he still felt. 'Medical experience...?' Airo raised his hand timidly, having learned basic of medical field treatment, as well as being trained to perform clinical counseling sessions. He knew he wasn't as skilled as the blue shirt, but still considered his understanding to be above average.

Medical experience....Oh boy this is going to get messy I bet. Yoshiro thought to himself as he raised his hand. He had some training in it but it was all basic stuff. He didn't really know anything beyond what he was trained in before arriving at Fort Ready. He hoped that what he knew would be enough.

Saito rose her hand at the first hand with out hesitation. She couldn't help but think to herself: Surgery and medical training something I am good at for once! She looked around at the other hands in the class with a smile.

"If you don't have your hand up already, remind me to kill you later. Every one of you should have received at least basic first aid in basic. First things first though. Who among you remembers the 7 Line request?" Aendri shook his head at how tentative they were all being. If they wanted to advance much, they'd all need to assert themselves much more.

Airo hesitated a moment...he knew this one! Before he could contain it, he blurted out "Let's Pass As So Everyone Feels Safe." He immediately blushed, remembering that was what he made up and taught himself. He passed the exam on first aid, but it was this sort of protocol stuff that made Airo uneasy. Deciding to redeem himself he explained further. "Location, Personnel, Assistance type, Safe...ness, Environment..." In mental abstraction he forgot the F, but remembered S. "Factors...and...Stuff needed. It turns a long transmission into a very short one, while relaying all necessary information. You just say the number that corresponds to that letter of the acronym, and the letter detailing the situation." Airo said in one breath before he looked down hoping his face would return to a less red shade soon.

"Two amendments to your statements. First, it's not just whether you need suits or not, but what kind of suits if anything other then a AMES suit is needed. Second, it's not who the patient is, it's who you are that matters when it comes to faction. Remember, we're not the only ones who use the call, so it's primarily so we can know who is requesting help, not so we know who needs help." Aendri turned and walked towards the side of the room before turning back to the class. "Next. Casualty evaluation. Who can tell me what triage is?"

Yoshiro spoke up this time. "Triage is when you determine the severity of a casualty's injuries. It rations treatment when the resources are not sufficent for all casualties to be treated." Yoshiro said. "Triage is used in determining emergency treatment, order and priority of transport and the transport destination of the casualty.

He had hoped he got the answer right. He leaned back in his chair and waited for the intructor to speak.
