RP: Lorath [LoD-Lorath-Trishka] Fortunate Daughter

Prologue

Assigned to a mission of reconnaissance, the LSDF Trishka had expanded the Lorath Matriarchy's knowledge of the northern most reaches of territory beyond the scope in which they had once known. Venturing where few had gone before outside of the accidental, or the truly adventurous. What came of their exploration which saught out the source of aggression against the most northern of Lorath settlements, was not a conflict, but instead, a discovery of the unexpected, the Iromakuanhe Astral Commonwealth.

Upon the discovery of the Iromakuanhe, the Lorath Matriarchy pushed for a near immediate establishment of peace and friendship treaties, ensuring that the Matriarchy would have friends to the north, friends which would provide a helpful eye, and a guiding hand, for future colonial expansion which would press the northern-most boundaries of settled space. Though, what came of the treaty was also knowledge, and questions. Questions such as how the Iromakhuanhe knew of the Matriarchy prior to their arrival, and even knew of the Nepleslians, and the Yamataians with such detail. Though, something which served as a piece of the familiar, was the unexpected retrieval of a daughter of the Matriarchy, one of the Lmanel.

Upon conclusion of peace accords being signed, the Trishka set to port, using the luxury of Hyperfold to make the return trip all the easier. None the less, due to the need to perform repairs upon the Trishka at the Biesi settlement, the journey to return one of the lost had taken weeks. Though, eventually, the ship set down upon Nyli III, where the most ideal equipment was for refitting the Trishka, and there was the place where they unloaded their unexpected passenger; Nall'Tis "Harmony" Hulut Llamnel.

"You do know that there was a push for a ceremony, right?" spoke the Fyunnen Commander of the Trishka, Korr'ih, who stood alongside Nall'tis at the loading bay which was soon to open once the ramp was extended. "Since you were the first to contact the Iroma, and the first to be so far north, there was some commotion about your discovery. For the sake of making the return home easier, I managed to minimize the presence of our media coverage down to a single camera, and a reporter which will be documenting the return for a later broadcast. Though, I do have orders to give you a medal once we're off the ramp, but that can wait until after you greet your family." Korr'ih explained, as she stood with arms crossed, her gaze looking to the door anxiously. She disliked the public eye, but, there she was, headed right into it. Not only for the sake of the Lmanel which they had recovered, but also her performance in regard to leading the ship in a mission which had such favorable results.

"A welcoming ceremony? Really? With the hell my body went through... I don't know if I would put up much of a fight..."

The woman beside Korr'ih looked to her with a smirk as she idly scratched at her shoulder. It was still difficult to get used to the lack of a wing, but that was now her lot in life. With a sigh she stretched out her remaining wing and twitched it a little, scanning her home with a smile. It was good to be home. Away from the hallucinations, away from the people trying to kill her day and night, but mostly away from that damned sand.

"Am I To debrief the high priest and Xiaah? Or just head right home?" Harmony hadn't done much in terms of research or anything news worthy on the ride home. She had simply recovered and relaxed, thinking of her family the whole time. She idly saw the reporter as she slung her bag onto her shoulder, the wyrm tail poking out the top. She looked back to Korr'ih and waited to be told what to do.

"If anything, you're the one who needs to be caught up on things." Korr'ih spoke, as her lips pressed into something bordering a frown, but remained mostly neutral. "We'll let the media get a shot of you, your family, you receiving a medal, but then afterwards we're going to need to have a little sit-down with you to make reintegrating you into things a little easier. Not to mention, we need to get you looked at by a full medical team. After the ordeal you went through, who knows what kind of long-term effects may have taken place." it seemed, Korr'ih had been given quite the laundry-list of things which needed to be addressed in regard to the returning Lmanel. "For now though, just focus on seeing your family for a bit before we have to handle official business."

With the loading bay door open, Korr'ih turned as her once neutral expression took on a smile as she gave a wave to the two reporters, one of which was a Helashio who was operating the camera, while the other was a New Tur'listian, who approached with a data pad in hand, with an attached microphone.

"Not so fast." Korr'ih spoke, as she approached the reporting pair first, holding them at bay purely through her authority. "Questions and close-ups can wait, let her greet her family first." and with that, the reporters backed off as Korr'ih turned to Nall'tis; "Go ahead." she spoke, gesturing her head to the end of the ramp.

At the bottom of the loading ramp were a few of the black-uniform clad LSDF, who stood alongside a moderately sized group of Lmanel, all clad in animal skins and furs, traditional as could be. Though, mainly, it was a large number of youngsters, circled around a pair of adults, without a doubt, it was Nall'tis' family, and that was made especially clear as the large and broad shouldered male nudged one of the LSDF members aside, to allow his wife through to greet their daughter first, before he'd follow along behind her, with the runts in tow.

Harmony's mother sat at the bottom of the ramp fidgeting with her shirt top. She hadn't seen her daughter, had honestly thought the girl was dead after the second year of her missing. But there she was, standing at the top of the ramp, and sadly enough for her mother, looking worse for wear.

During her time away Harmony had acquired a deep golden tan, sharper now then she had before. The tan would help to off set the colors of her new scars, or honestly the lack of coloring. Riddled with claw marks and even a few bullet wounds, no injury was more startling than the fact that the poor girl now only had one wing. Something she had lost in a fight with another wyrm of the planet she had been on, it was odd looking to say the least. As she saw her mother and father, tears formed in the sides of her eyes as she dropped the bag she had picked up moments ago, holding her arms out wide for a hug at the top of the ramp.

Harmony only had to wait a second or so as her mother had already taken off running for her before the bag had left her hands. Scooping up her daughter in a tight embrace, the woman let loose a strangled cry of joy as she felt her first born in her arms again, the first time in almost half a decade. It wwasn't but a few moments more before Harmony's brothers and sisters were there two, embracing her around the hips and legs.

With a smile and a hug of her own, all Harmony could muster for her mother at the moment was a simple, "Mom, I'm home..."

What unfolded before the watchful gaze of the camera sent by the Lorath media outlet was something which had an undoubted fate of becoming part of the Lorath propaganda machine for the next few months. A reunion of family, made possible by the northern expansion of the Matriarchy, and the ship which had once been commanded by the Fyunnen princess, and was now commanded by her personal guardian. Certainly, it was the stuff of a propagandist's dreams.

Contributing to that ever so pleasant scene, was Harmony's father, who approached only once his wife had exchanged greetings with their daughter. Seh'nael had a smile upon his lips, but it was one framed by an expression of relief, as he looked upon his eldest daughter, the daughter he once thought lost, and soon embraced her in a hug, before looking her over, and whispering to her; "You've earned more scars than a Fyunnen no doubt, though, it has certainly made you all the more of a handsome daughter, I'm proud of you." as he spoke those words, the strong Lmanel's voice was rough, as the words flowed through a throat tightened with emotions.

Away from the reunion, Korr'ih spoke with a small group of Lorath Self Defense Force personnel, along with a leather-robe clad representative of the Lmanel. It was a hushed discussion, remaining out of earshot from the two reporters which were present. Largely, the discussion regarded plans for what was to happen next, though, at the end of the conversation another one of the covered topics was made clear, as Korr'ih stood by, with a wooden case in her hand, with a flat sheet of gold riveted onto it. A plaque, and in her other hand, was a small black box with what was intended to be presented to Harmony before the eye of the onlooking camera.

"You should have seen the things I fought for these scars dad." Nall'Tis smiled as she hugged her father in return. After giving him a peck on the cheek, Nall'Tis squatted down a little to see her younger siblings, not caring for the cameras on her as she began to pull out the various items and trophies she had brought back from the planet. Some were grisly with blood still on them, others much nicer like a pendant or trinket of some sort. Soon enough the different items were passed on, though she kept her hands on the more dangerous Wyrm tails that she had collected.

Nul'Tin looked her daughter over once more before she moved off with the children. She wanted to hug and hold her eldest, to keep her sheltered, but she knew better. She also didn't want to give cause to her crew mates to tease and poke fun at her, so she would wait until they were off camera.

Something she did notice though, was the lack of Nall'Tis's bonded Companion, Peace.

"I'd like to hear all about them." Seh'nael spoke, as he felt the light peck against his cheek, which brought a smile to the lips of the relieved father. As he stood and watched the reunion between siblings, his amber eyes took note of the missing companion, and he knew there were few good reasons for a missing companion; their own choosing to depart, illness, or death. Due to the sensitive nature of the topic, and the watching eyes, Seh'nael decided it would be kinder to her daughter to refrain from touching on the topic, as he instead spoke on the future; "They say they're going to take you for some talks and exams, but the moment they're done, they'll be letting you loose back into the world. When you're due home, we're going to celebrate." what he really wanted though, was to ask her all sorts of questions, to worry for her, to find out just what she had been through... but he knew that she was going to be doing that for a while once the greetings were over.

On the note of greetings being brought to a conclusion, the sound of rubber soles against metal flooring sounded the approach of Korr'ih, as she stepped to the group and let out a polite cough of interruption, before she spoke. "To her mother, her father, and her siblings, I would like to invite you to observe as we recognize your kin for her efforts and ordeals." she spoke formally in Lorath, the speech of a royal guard, more than that of an ordinary rugged Fyunnen from the field.

Nall'Tis stood and looked to Korr'ih as the woman spoke up. With a nod and a wave to her siblings and parents, the Llamnel girl made her way closer to the Fyunnen woman. She placed her hands behind her back and waited for whatever was to come to begin. She wanted to get it over with, to get the tests and exams over with, to get her debriefing done with, and back out into nature. She needed the familiar scents and sounds, the reassuring presence of the animals she had grown to know for so long. But that had to wait.

Nal'Tin nodded a little to the larger Fyunnen woman and began to usher she children back and away at a respectable distance to allow the media to get a look, and to allow the Commander to do what she needed. She was much like her husband, desperate to hold and comfort her child, to hear her stories and to tell her own. But that had to wait.

"Oh, ah, right." There was a moment of awkwardness, in having Korr'ih approach and make her announcement. Certainly, Seh'nael expected a little more time, though, he also knew that time was a precious thing, so there was not even the slightest bit of arguement as he stepped aside, and stood alongside his mate, reaching his hand out for hers, to provide some comfort for her, as well as for himself.

Once the Lmanel family was aside, and the reporters were in place, that provided Korr'ih the opportunity to step forward, as she first produced the slab of wood and metal, so elegantly simple in presentation, but distinctively meaningful as she held it up. "We shall begin with this representation of the Matriarchy's appreciation, which reads; 'On this day, we thank you, a beloved daughter of our Goddess, for returning home safely, and for holding home and faith in your heart in your time of hardship. May the Goddess' blessing be with you, always.'" Korr'ih spoke, her words ringing out firm and strong, as she presented the plaque to Nall'Tis. Upon presentation, it was clear that the plaque was emblazoned with crest of the Tur'listia, the Lmanel, and the flag of the Matriarchy, placed in precisely cut stone and embedded into the metal of the plaque, which was so elegantly engraved with traditional Lorath script.

What came after the plaque, only after providing a moment for Nall'Tis to look upon the first token of the Matriarchy's appreciation, was what was contained within the small case which Korr'ih held in hand, and soon opened, before retrieving a square of silver with a square rich dark green jade embedded upon it. It was one and a half inches in width on each side, and a cord was suspended from it, most clearly for being hung around the neck. Etched into the silver, was a blessing in the ancient tongue of the Lorath, a blessing from the Lmanel; meant for those who travel far, and who are revered as heroes for it, upon the Jade, was the imprint of the Hulut family seal in which Nall'Tis hailed from. "Let this proclaim your blessed recognition, as a traveler who has accomplished a great feat in her journey." and with those words, Korr'ih hung the medal around Nall'Tis' neck. "Don't forget to smile." she spoke, referring to the camera which was watching the ceremony.

Nall'Tis watched her father move off, before she stood and waited for the presentation. Looking over the first item, she let her fingers play in the script, giving it a appreciating look before she looked back up the plaque at her side now. She would bow her head a little to give Korr'ih a easier time putting the medal around her neck. She smiled as she heard Korr'ih's words, though it wasn't much of a strain to smile. She was home, her family was here, and she was at peace again.

Turning to the media after giving Korr'ih a salute, Nall'Tis gave a wave of her hand and smiled again, a tear forming in her eye as she looked out from the ship and to the planet. It felt good to be home.

After a moment of posing for the Media, Nall'Tis looked to Korr'Ih and nodded.

"Whenever you are ready ma'am, I would like to get the examinations over with. The quicker I can, the quicker I can get to the things needing to be done."

There was nod from Korr'ih in the direction of the camera, clearly, it resulted in a dismissal as the pair of reporters turned off their recording equipment. It seemed the propaganda shoot was over, and it left Korr'ih to speak candidly; "You can speak with your family once more before we leave. You can tell them you will be gone for one or two weeks. That will be how long it will take before the biological researchers and the people within the intelligence portion of the LSDF will be happy." as Korr'ih finished speaking, she gestured to one of the personnel nearby to bring both the car for herself and Nall'Tis, as well as the larger vehicle for her family.

"Thank you ma'am, I'll be with you shortly." With another salute to the Fyunnen Commander, Nall'Tis made her way to her family. Hugs and kisses were exchanged, the Llamnel girl squatting down to again hug and play with her youngest siblings before she would make her way up, embracing each of her other siblings. It had seemed like the parents were busy, good on the words of the husband as the clan had grown somewhat in the years Nall'Tis had been gone.

With a hard swallow, she told her parents what Korr'Ih had said, a few more weeks, a few more weeks and she could be at home, sleeping in her bed with her brothers and sisters, relaxing in her community and seeing all the old faces. Then she would get to work. After another tear filled hug from her mother and father, she broke the contact and made her way to join Korr'ih in the car, waiting to be led off.

Korr'ih maintained a polite distance, as the two requested cars pulled up, and she watched the exchange of farewells between the returned daughter and her family. It was a pleasing sight to see, and it was something which made the mission to the far reaches of known space worthwhile. Once the farewells were completed, Korr'ih opened the door to the back seat of the car to let Nall'Tis in before she entered the vehicle as well.

Once the pair were seated, the cars made their way away from the port, and in the direction of one of the portions of the Nyli colony which held the far more industrially developed portions of the main settlement, an area which was just as involved with military operations as it was in exports and production. Checkpoints were passed, and eventually, the cars descended into a series of tunnels which were beneath the surface buildings, and after descending at least two dozen levels beneath the surface, Korr'ih announced; "We're here."

What served as a question at that moment was the issue of where "Here" was. "Here" was easily able to be described as an extension of the scientific studies labs which were located deep beneath the palace grounds on Lor. On Nyli though, tunnels started beneath the industrial complexes within the 'Central City Settlement', and extended thirty miles outside of the city, before burrowing far beneath the surface, where Korr'ih and the guest of the Matriarchy were then parked. It seemed, Nall'Tis was an important enough of a person to warrant being brought somewhere safe for her debriefing and examination.

As Korr'ih sat in the car, even as they were parked, she took a moment to speak to Nall'Tis; "If you have any questions, now is the time, I'll tell you what I can. Though, I want you to know you're here as a valued guest, if that makes this kind of place any less troubling. We don't exactly want outsiders able to find out the things you've seen and the places you've been, and with the way things have been lately, it's a precaution that is necessary."

"Will you tell me what I've missed? Or will I be waiting and someone else? And just how... Invasive will this get?" Harmony frowned a little at the idea. She knew she had undergone changes on the planet, she had felt it from the time she had spent on the planet after everything happened. She knew deep inside she was different, she just didn't know how much she was going to have to provide.

She wasn't really put off from the underground facility. Since going into the medical field, she had hoped one day to visit the labs and get to work there, she just never thought that she was going as a test subject herself. She fidgeted a little in the seat as the car stopped, and after a awkward moment, Nall'Tis went to move to the door to get out. Her remaining wing twitched a little as she kept her head ducked to get out of the car.

"Frankly, I've been out of the loop myself for the most part, we were far away from home, just as you were, but not for nearly as long." Korr'ih replied to the question from the Lmanel. "What I do know is this; our home is in constant danger, our presence in space is more important than ever, and..." Korr'ih paused a moment, as she reached out and gently grasped onto Harmony's arm. "Just know, we've had our fair share of losses, and that right now, keeping the faith is more important than ever..." At that moment, it seemed that Korr'ih had something to add, but she paused, before she went on. "I've had them prepare a file for you to look over, printed news, and video data. You can look over it between interviews." Whatever it was that she was not speaking of, it was something painful enough to even give a Fyunnen pause. "That aside, this won't be too invasive, that's all I know, just know that they do intend to release you soon, and know that we've advanced our technology enough so when they say that, they mean it."

Nall'Tis simply nodded to the taller woman as she felt the hand upon her arm. Blinking a little she wondered just what the woman was getting at, and why she had seemingly taken on a depressed look, but shrugged it off as a Fyunnen thing.

"I doubt the doctors are gonna let me go after they see what i can do now... but I guess I can hope for the best neh?"

Nall'Tis looked around a little as she waited for the woman to lead the way.

Korr'Ih would be hard pressed to take the Llamnel girl anywhere as she was suddenlywrapped up from behind in what could only be construed as a infamous bear hug! It seemed that a silent attacker had managed to get behind the Fyunnen commander. Of course, the bear hug wasn't tight or threatening, just enough to lift the girl up in a loving embrace.

"They just need to collect the data, after all, they can just call you back in if they really do need you." Korr'ih explained as she climbed out of the vehicle. Her gaze went over the parking garage for a moment, as she prepared to get going... that was, until she felt the arms around her. At first, there was enough surprise to cause her muscles to tense and her to squirm, but after that brief second, she recognized the touch as she smiled lightly, a sort of smile she had not had upon her lips in the last two years. "You got me again." she said, indicating her surrender into the embrace, as she waited to be set down, before she would finally be face to face with the woman, the woman that was so closely tied to her fate and her heart.

Korr'ih would indeed be set down, though the reason she had been snuck up on wouldn't be evident until after the Fyunnen woman turned around. There before her stood Lren'Cdyn, head of the Fyunnen household and body guard to the High Priest, head of the Lorath Self Defense Forces. Smiling from ear to ear, the woman wrapped Korr'ih in a tight embrace before pulling her away again. Lren'Cdyn's hair had been cut since the last time Korr'ih had seen her, sporting a rather cute looking pixie cut that had streaks of red running through her hair here and there. After looking her lover over again, the excited Fyunnen pulled Korr'ih into a kiss, not caring the Llmanel girl was there.

Nall'Tis for her part, gave the two some privacy as she turned her head, a blush playing softly across her nose as she seemed to study the roof of the complex they were in. After giving the two reunited lovers a chance to get the greeting out of the way, Nall'tis spoke up, "Uh I don't know who would need to, but I'd like to talk to the high priest some time soon, if possible..."

Lren'Cydn looked to the Llamnel girl for a brief moment before shooting off a message through the network to the High priest, before stepping out of the way of Korr'ih. She still had a job to do after all...

Once she was set down, Korr'ih immediately turned and looked upon Lren'Cdyn, there was a wide smile upon her lips, before they grasped eachother in a mutual embrace. As they hugged, Korr'ih did something she had not done in some time, she laughed, she laughed from being happy and fulfilled, though, as she hugged her love, one thing caught her attention, before she held Lren'Cdyn at arm's length, looking the Fyunnen princess over. "What did you do to your hair!?" there was a tone of full on shock, and a touch of confusion, and there was good reason. A cut so incredibly short was reserved for the most lowest ranking of soldier, in fact, it was outright reserved for students in their youth even, before they had much if any social standing. For a Lorath, to look upon a princess who was presented as a peasant, was truly jarring. Admittedly though, a feeling that gnawed at Korr'ih's sensibilities, was the fact that her lover looked downright cute with such a cut.

Before any further dialog could happen in regard to the trivial matter of two lovers reunited, the request of the returning Lmanel caught Korr'ih's attention, enough so she spoke with a bowed head to her lover, speaking quietly enough so her voice would not even carry enough to echo in the garrage; "I will see you soon my love, just wait for me, I'll be done here soon." with those words spoken, she turned from Lren'Cydn with a wave before returning to her duties.

"Nall'Tis, I appologise for making you wait, I ah... I had my own reunion to tend to." Korr'ih explained, quite candidly, as she gave a nod to the Lmanel before gesturing for her to follow; "Right this way, and I am sure the High Priest will have time to see you." she assured the Lmanel, before guiding her to a set of doors a few yards away, which she opened with a key she produced from her uniform. It was not just any key though, it was a key which shaped itself as she inserted it into the lock. Within the lock, the key formed and adjusted, fitting into spaces and gaps, but only the proper ones, and as it did, Korr'ih gave a turn of the key, causing the large blast-door to slide open, revealing an air-lock like chamber, which she led Nall'Tis into.

"Forgive all of this... after the incident with the Sourcian and the Black Spiral in our old facility, we've had to alter security measures somewhat." the Fyunnen spoke, as a pale blue light, a blue so utterly high on the visual spectrum that it almost defied visibility, passed over the pair during a scan procedure. "We will be skipping decontamination if that is any comfort, the scientists don't want to miss anything that could still be part of your physiology after your ordeal."

A message would appear in Korr'ih's inbox from the matriarchy, and more importantly from Lren"cdyn stating that she would indeed catch up, and explain later.

The Llamnel girl had smirked somewhat at the reunion of the two lovers, enjoying the sight a little as she thought back to her time on the distant planet. There had been the Yamataian boy that she started to crush on a little, but sadly nothing had come of it. with a sigh, she followed the Fyunnen woman into the next room.

Nall'Tis laughed a little at the idea of the decontamination process. "I've absorbed so much from the Nucor that I doubt they will be left wanting..." The Llamnel girl shrugged a little as she watched everything going on. she had faintly remembered hearing about the black spiral incident from a friend, though at the time everyone had put it aside as a conspiracy theory. With a small shrug, she simply waited for the scans to end, not honestly phased by any of it.
