RP: UCS Zenpyou [Mission 1] Blackened Wings

David waited for the other two peacekeepers to arrive and then departed for the Zenpyou. As they started their final approach a bright flash burst through the opening in the hangar doors. He was told that the ship was clear so what had happened? He rushed back to the ship as fast as it would be safe for him to proceed.

When he entered the bay the sudden presence of gravity pulled down of the armor and the two bodies he had been carrying. His armor dipped down and touched down hard on the deck. He dropped the two prisoners and ran over to Natsuko while calling over the comms: "Report! What happened are there any in need of medical care?"

Roken wished he was wrong at that moment, the blast was sudden and even where he was standing he could not avoid it. His shields burned out before he was knocked back against the hangar wall, the collision knocking him out and damaging one of his augmented eyes.

He did not know how long he was out but it was not an issue at the moment as he groaned, the world around him slowly coming back into view....cracked and a little hazy. Roken tried to blink wincing as pieces of metal and fragments from his right eye shifted and dug into his skin. He coughed as blood splattered inside his helmet. ugh my head.....wha....Nat...Natsuko... Roken tried to move but that only made the pain worst, his HUD only showing partial information on the status of his armor. Right arm and leg are in bad shape but no breach....gotta try and move.... Roken made a second attempt only then realizing that his armor was providing enough power to critical systems.

Roken could barely hear a voice over his comm's as he relaxed himself, “R....Roken...its Roken sir...I'm hurt...what about the others....wha...what about Natsuko...?” His voice was weak, he had to spit most of the blood out of his mouth so he could would sound like he was gurgling.

Denkou, unaware of the impending blast, hit the side of the hangar bay quite hard. Luckily though, he hadn't yet powered down his armor's shields, so nothing overly horrible happened to him. Shaking his head groggily, he rose to his feet, and started towards Natsuko and Roken, slightly off balance, but conscious and mobile. Finally, a use for all of his physical combat training. It looked like he'd been hit much less severely than either of the other two. "Sir, I'm..." He had to pause a moment to compose himself. "I'll be fine; the blast just threw me against the wall." Hearing Roken, he winced. "I think the other two may need immediate medical attention though." With this said, he moved to check Roken, leaving Natsuko for those more medically inclined.

Gin followed the Sub-Commander back to the Zenpyou. Upon seeing the obvious flash of an explosion. Unci, I thought they said things were secure, what the heck happened? she thought as she accellerated towards the bay. She applied reverse thrust just as she came in so as to minimize the impact. She deposited her prisoner next to the two Stryker had deposited.

She ran across the bay to the other figure who was stuggling to move. It was obvious that his armor was pretty fragged. She could just make out the pilot's name. "Roken just stay still and lie there. Sub-Commander Stryker is checking on Natsuko. We'll get you out of the armor and medical assistance is on." she said, "Sub-Commander Stryker Roken's armor is pretty torn up. He's going to need medical assistance." Then she pulled her toolkit out and started working to extricate Roken from the armor.

Zero had since helped Tesuro get the captives and the injured to the medical bay under a lock down. When he got the message for injuries, he headed back out to go look for Natsuko since she was closer, he knew basic first aid like all soldiers were trained in at least. "Natsuko... Hey are you still alive? Answer me give us some kind of sign you're still among the living," he asked her over the comm.

Ai had dropped off her prisoner person, who was taken away by some other people. She didn't know who, and quite frankly she didn't care. All she cared about at that moment was Natsuko. 'N- Natsuko... You better not die.... You better not! I'll never forgive you if you do!' Ai shouted telepathically to her friend. She felt some tears starting to well up, from fear of losing her best friend.

'Darn it Natsu.... You'd better not leave me....'

By the time Zero arrived on the scene, Roken was already conscious but was injured as well but Natsuko seemed to be the one who needed the most attention. "Roken. how badly damaged are you?" he asked as he looked around.

Shit, looks like some detonated a bomb in here. Let's hope nobody else is hurt. But it looks like Roken's going to be fine once he's pried out of the armor. He thought as he knelt down and used his Tenshi's scanners to determine the best course of action to pry Natsuko from the armor and rush her to the medical bay. So he'd send a call over the comm to the physicians on duty requesting emergency medical assistance pronto.

"Sorry for interrupting Stryker, but I was in the area," Zero said to the superior officer, "My suit detected the explosion."

David helped to remove Natsuko's armour before they moved her to the med-bay. Natsuko had a few slashes over her body that were of little concern but what was of greatest concern was the piece of armour plate that had pushed its way through the left side of Natsuko's chest. There was no way to tell how deep it went or if it had hit anything vital. David left the shard in place in case it was in the heart. David picked up Natsuko's torso while zero grabbed her legs. David kept Natsuko's head supported with his arm as they rushed to the medical bay.

"Natsuko! Damn it! Hang in there. Your not that bad, we all had it worse on Kennewes this should be nothing." David nearly kicked down the door to the medical bay and laid Natsuko down on one of the examination tables. A volumetric display appeared showing an internal scan of Natsuko and was flashing red. The Shard had pierced her left atrium and cut into her lung which had started to full with blood. David pulled the tray of medical tools over and started to work to try and save Natsuko's life with the help of the volumetric display.

Zero helped David get Natsuko into the medical bay and laid her out on the table and assisted him the best he could. "I know you're worked up, but you're going to have to calm down and work precisely or you'll make he condition worse," he said with a stoic calm, his face revealing absolutely no emotion to what he said at all. "All you have to do is carefully extract it and her natural healing ability will start to close up the wounds it can," he stated in a level voice, reassuring in the only way he knew how.

Only his piercingly cold blue eyes showed any form of agitation over a comrade's condition, hence why he kept his face down concentrating on assisting and using his mercury silver hair to conceal it. "Don't worry Natsuko, you'll pull through it. I know you can hear me; you just have to hang on."

David looked over at Zero quickly. He gave Zero a look of annoyance but was blocked out under his helmet. David slowly removed the shard while using a roll of gauze. "Get me some Hemo-synth now, peacekeeper!" David would deal with Zero when this was over but now he had to deal with the problem at hand.

After he pulled out the shard all the way he quickly grabbed an injector for the hemo-synth. He took the container from Zero and placed it into the injector and used it to inject hemo-synth directing to the slash. "Start bandaging her wounds. It does not matter to me what they say about these engineered bodies, if there is blood then we must dress the wound."

Zero returned David's look of annoyance and tch'ed. But for Natsuko's sake, he'd get what was requested and handed it to him and began to dress the wounds carefully. He meticulous with it as if he were extremely familiar with dressing and treating wounds like that. He just gave David a look that said clearly "uh duh." Zero would take his time to quickly and efficiently get Natsuko's wounds dressed and bandaged properly. When he finished, he'd step back and dispose of the contaminated materials. "It's up to her now."

Ai quietly followed behind David and Zero, just staring at Natsuko. She was too stunned to say anything or even notice that her tears had started to roll down her cheeks. 'Don't die... don't die... don't die....' In the medbay, she just stood off to the side, blankly staring at the operation.

Natsuko's world flashed before her eyes. Oh, I'm flying. Natsuko thought as she was rocketed through the air, her brain barely had time to finish processing even that thought before her body crashed to the ground. If Natsuko had been fully conscious it would have been one of the times when she was happy to be a Nekovalkyrja, for her neko brain had automatically cut off all of her pain receptors. I'm on the ground. Natsuko's mind slipped in and out of unconsciousness as she slowly succumbed to what she thought might have been death. The last thing the neko saw was the ground at eye level. What is that noise? Natsuko thought as she felt the buzz of telepathic activity directed at her, as well as a loud ringing in her ears from the explosion.

As David and Zero rushed Natsuko to the infirmary she continued to slip in and out of consciousness, only able to catch glimpses of the ceiling as she was moved rapidly, and unable to really piece anything together, or even recognize it as a chain of events.

Once the 'operation' was completed, Natsuko's eyes slowly flitted open. The neko tried to move before feeling a surge of pain. Finally after having been awake for minutes Natsuko spoke. "Is everyone alright?" Natsuko asked, her voice was all croaky like she had swallowed a frog.

Zero looked over at Natsuko as she came around, having been quietly keeping an eye on her to make sure she stabilized. She probably wouldn't recognize him as the person they met in the cafeteria before, but that was fine. He had removed his Tenshi since and returned it to the PA bay and was in the medical bay to help treat the wounded.

"Oh that's good," he said as he walked over and put a gentle hand on her shoulder. "Just rest for now Natsuko-san, you got hurt pretty badly. Roken's hurt too but he'll survive, I don't know if there's any other injured from that," he said to her calmly.

"Kigatsuite yokatta...." Ai murmured to herself, seeing Natsuko awake. She finally realized that she had been crying as she was about to take off her helmet. Suddenly, she became very self-conscious. The Sub-Lieutenant turned and left the medbay, though she stayed just outside of the room, not wanting to be too far from her friend, but also not wanting to be seen as weak for crying. She also wasn't about to forgive Natsuko for worrying her like that.

Working along Gin removed Roken from his armor shortly after they others carried Natsuko out. She performed a quick triage. Spitting up blood, possible internal injuries or damage to the ribs. She thought. She fashioned a pressure bandage to protect his ribs, then helped him to his feet. "Okay Roken, let's get you down to medical where we can treat you properly."

They entered the medbay unnoticed as the others were so intent on saving Natsuko's life. She helped Roken onto one of the med beds and using the equipment checked his injuries.

There was a ping as a shuttle arrived at the docking port, the airlock opening as a green haired, almost six foot tall neko floated out with his bags in tow. His orange eyes looked around for someone, or something. "Ship AI, I am looking for the captain. Could you please tell me if he is currently busy, or available?" he asked politely. "If he is currently unavailable, could you let him know one Kobayashi Ichiro is here." he finished, waiting where he entered.

Roken groaned as Gin picked him up, nodding as they made there way to the med bay. His mind had cleared up a little during that time which did not mean much as he tried to make sense of what had happened, which focused on the armors and the possible defensive device attached to them also but he knew the others would be able to sort that out once they knew that Natsuko was alright.

As they entered the med bay Gin set him down on the beds as she checked his injuries. He looked over at the others giving Natsuko a weak wave with his good arm, “..oh...your alright...” He looked at the others that were tending to her knowing she was in good hands before looking at Gin. “Thanks for pulling me out...it was getting a little warm in there..” He joked as he relaxed back into the bed.

Denkou had de-suited, and was currently in his room, cleaning out his wounds so they would heal cleanly, and shaking his head back and forth periodically, trying to clear his head from the earlier concussion. Finishing up, he stood up, and went back down to the bay in order to check on his armor, and see how bad the damage was to it and the rest of the bay, arriving just in time to see the new arrival coming on board. He shook his head. What timing, eh? Deciding to hold off on his check, he headed towards the neko. He caught the tail end of the neko's request of the AI. "Peacekeeper Kobayashi? I'm Peacekeeper Third Class Uindo Denkou. I'm sorry, but many of the crew members are incapacitated at the moment, either through injury, or the care of those injured. If you would like, I can show you to quarters, and we can get you situated until the captain can speak with you." He glanced towards the sides of the bay, surprised that the neko hadn't noticed the recent damage, including a pair of disabled power armors.

David ordered the other peacekeepers after they had stabilized the injured to transfer the prisoners to the brig for holding. He had by this point changed out of his armor and was keeping an eye on Natsuko. "I guess the lesson to be learned from this is: Never breach a anti-matter reactor with your hands." David nodded his head before looking over at Natsuko again. "I am happy that everyone came back alive, especially you and Ai. If I had lost even one of you I think this squad would lose a good 25% of it's combat effectiveness." David smiled slightly. David scratched his beard and looked around the bay. "Do you want anything? Maybe a drink or something to eat?"
