Re: [Mission 10] Finding Freedom

Sune turned his head when he heard the door to the bridge open. Nika, but she was in medical and the blast shutters deployed. One more thing for the engineers to investigate and make sure are working properly after we complete this phase of the mission.

"Himeya-Hei, come take this station. You are more proficient, we have made one attack run on the scout and are closing again to attempt to disable." He said standing motioning for the starship operator to take the seat.

"I will go and man the systems and safety monitoring station, and run sensors from there."

Re: [Mission 10] Finding Freedom

"Understood. Working to stabilize." Yaichiro's fingers flew across the system, rerouting power and other systems around damaged areas and generally attempting to keep the ship together. Like many before him, he wondered just how much of the Eucharis was left from when it was first launched. Keeping propulsion balanced when the auxiliary engine had taken damage was among the hardest chores, but he somehow managed.

When the system was stable enough to keep going without immediate input, he'd do a little work on the CFS repair, but he was mostly occupied keeping what they had up and running.

Re: [Mission 10] Finding Freedom

Sune made his way over to the Systems and Safety monitoring station, and logged in, he configured one of the screens to let him monitor the sensor data.

There were a number of systems flashing, CFS, the damaged cannon, and the starboard engine. The Engine appeared to be operating normally, but the cannon was another matter. As he watched the status of the CFS showed that it was reinitializing.

"CFS functionality has been restored, I am configuring it for shields at the moment leaving us using the STL engines Taisa. It appears that engineering is attempting to stabilize the cannon's containment." he called out.

While monitoring the sensors, he entered a message into the system for the engineers. It would appear on their status boards so as not require them to divert their attention.

To: Engineering Dept
Subject: Problem Report

Possible fault with internal blast shutters. While the shutters did deploy in the collision, and going to battle stations, the shutters apparently failed to lock.

Jalen-Heisho.

Re: [Mission 10] Finding Freedom

Takeyu smiled as his eyes darted across his screen; shifting power loads and also realigning the containment field wasn't an entirely easy thing to do - especially during combat, but he finally managed to stabalize it and read a positive feed from the containment. "Field stabalized, but we'll need to fix that engine as soon as possible," he muttered without thought.

"Ughs..." he grumbled when he saw the message from the bridge and wondered what could've caused that problem, and then shifted his attention to monitoring the systems that were active, while also keeping a close eye on the containment field. Though he had to wonder how Kumiko was doing with shields.

Re: [Mission 10] Finding Freedom

Inside the damaged engine cluster on the starboard wing, loose and damage containment field plates were held against the inner wall of the containment unit by the increased repulsive force they were putting out. In front of them, glowing blue globs of anti-matter jittered wildly in midair. At the rear of the containment pod was a gaping hole and the panels near it were working way over their normal levels to make up for the ones that were torn off in the explosion.

Ahead, the scout took a glancing blow from the Eucharis' main cannon, narrowly avoiding a direct hit by maneuvering to the side. Its starboard side was now scorched and ragged, with a mist of vaporized material trailing from it and one of the wings below no longer present. As it kept firing at Eucharis, it began to rapidly launch its complement of pod fighters. A flash of distortion revealed its CFS snap back online behind the exiting fighters.

On the Eucharis bridge, Hanako turned to Sune. "If we took that ship's transponder, do you think we could disguise Eucharis as her with holographics and just 'walk in' to their territory posing as it? This could be our easy ticket to HX-13."

Re: [Mission 10] Finding Freedom

Nika nodded and quickly settled down onto her seat.

"Multiple signals detected!" The neko tapped into the system, "Confirmed pod fighters from the enemy ship." Logging into SPINE, taking note that the main cannon was stabilized but not 'user friendly' at the moment.

"AA-Guns now engaging the pods." Targetting the pods, Nika set them to auto-track and shoot, "Attempting to disable the ship as piority with AS weaponries." The neko let loose the AS type weapons in alternate bursts, draining the target's shield as much as possible, finally launching the torpedos, which's trajectories were to hit its target's engines from behind.

Re: [Mission 10] Finding Freedom

With the ships still practically right next to each other, Eucharis was caught in the full blast of the torpedo explosions and shook violently as the shockwave instantly hit. Inside, sparks were flying and the lights went out. A two-tone "shields down" alarm played on the bridge.

A number of pods had been blown into Eucharis' hull by the explosions and exploded or self-destructed their missile packs, causing explosions and fire and/or decompression in the power armor bay, the wardroom, the cargo bay, and the starboard passageway between the bridge door and the main passageway, trapping the bridge crew.

The other ship was in similar condition; its shields were also down but the scout's hull and internal systems were still intact except for a mangled launch bay on the front.

A second alarm went off on Eucharis' bridge just seconds later, warning that the anti-matter containment was about to fail in the starboard aux engine cluster.

Re: [Mission 10] Finding Freedom

Yaichiro knew they had no time to stabilize the antimatter field again -- it'd take too long and it was too far gone anyway...he'd have to purge it.

"Bridge, we have to jettison the antimatter capsule or purge the antimatter within 30 seconds, and the risk of it hitting debris or the other ship is high. We have to get out of dodge the moment we start to purge, but I'm hoping the antimatter will at least give the enemy the damage we need."

Re: [Mission 10] Finding Freedom

"Jettison the anti-matter capsule but I want the enemy ship's transponder before we destroy it," Hanako ordered Toshiro, still reeling from the torpedo shockwave. "Sune, can you prepare a small boarding team? Their shields are down so you can teleport over. Everyone else not already at a station should be on damage control."

Hanako turned to Nika. "The torpedoes have a large blast radius," she commented. "Please make sure we're not in it before firing next time."

Meanwhile, smoke began seeping out of the starboard side of the bridge and the systems and safety monitoring console flickered and then went offline. Hanako unbuckled her harness for a moment and pulled an AMES suit out of a storage compartment and quickly put it on.

Re: [Mission 10] Finding Freedom

Sune was about to respond to Hanako's suggestion about the transponder when the bridge was rocked by the shock wave. A second after the station he was at went dark.

Grabbing the intercom, he briefly considered the crew members on hand, and sent the following message. "Nayacesen-Hei, report to the Power Armor bay, you and I are going to pay a visit to the NMX." He stood and turned to Hanako, "Keep things together while we are gone, Taisa. I would hate to come back with the transponder and find you folks are dead in the water." he said with a wry grin as he made his way to power armor bay.

Making his way would have been easier since the blast shutters were still not locking. However, as he opened the main door off the bridge, and a blast of heat and flames rushed in. "Shit...." Sune swore he ducked back and shut the door. "Damn it... " He said as he removed his shirt and stomped out the flames on it.

"Looks like I will need to take an alternate path." He crossed over to the second door way off the bridge that was normally reserved for heading to Hanako's quarters. From there he made his way to the junction, and entered the maintenance conduits. Damn it, I am not an engineer, and yet I seem to spend a lot of time in these damn conduits."

He emerged past the burning area, and proceeded to the bay by the most direct path available.

The shutter to the bay indicated that it was at hard vacuum. "This just gets better and and better." he said looking for a damage control locker. He ascended to the armory, and opened the damage control locker. He pulled out an AMES and donned it, We can use the armory as an improvised airlock to get into the bay, get our gear and then put it on with the armory pressurized. he thought. With the suit sealed he entered the armory, used the suit's comm to send a message to Takeyu.

Nayacesen-Hei,
Power armor bay is decompressed. Grab an AMES and the armory as airlock.
Jalen-Heisho

Sune entered the bay, and walked over to an unassigned Mindy M2-3A, he cycled the rack to release the armor, and dragged it across the floor and back into the armory.

Once in the armory he repressurized the armory, and started removing his belt gun and other items that would not fit in the armor. He selected a Ke-M2-P3000 teleportation module and attached it to the suit.

"Charisma, please extrapolate a set of coordinates for a large enough space to teleport into on the NMX warship?" He asked.

He climbed into the armor, powered it up and once all indicators were green, recycled the Armory and re-entered the bay to wait for Takeyu.

Re: [Mission 10] Finding Freedom

Kumiko frowned at the request to take one of the engineers away from his console while they were still fighting to get the ship back into fighting shape, but said nothing. They'd managed before, they'd manage now. She looked over to Toshiro. "Sir, can I leave the antimatter to you?" Even while she was asking, she was moving ahead to working on getting the hologram systems back online, if at all possible. Her next step would be to start running through, and cut power to anything they could afford. With the damage, there was no point in straining the reactors more than they absolutely had to. "Bridge, your shields should be coming back online just about now, holographic systems soon. We're still working on the antimatter."

Re: [Mission 10] Finding Freedom

Engineering:

Yaichiro ejected the antimatter capsule on the starboard side successfully, the capsule holding multiple metric tons of positrons being flung clear of the ships by the Graviton Beam Projector Array. A supplemental capacitor held power for the containment field, but it wasn't enough to contain the explosion that pierced space shortly thereafter when the antimatter reached the battered walls of the container.

A bright flash pierced space, some excess antimatter spewing out but generally maintaining the trajectory that the Projector Array had flung it in.

"Antimatter Capsule jettisoned and annihilated. Advising Navigation to be careful we don't fly into any particles later -- the mass of the container was insufficient to annihilate all of the antimatter."

Takeyu gave a nod upon hearing Sune's orders. "I'm rerouting life support from the Ward Room and Cargo Bay's to the crew quarters and sealing both sections," he said and typed in the required commands. He then got up out of his chair and headed for the exit.

Heading down the corridor, he spun the corner and found the area littered with dead cables and pieces of the ceiling and walls. Ignoring this carnage, he headed for the power armor bay but then realized that the doors were sealed and he couldn't get in. So instead headed into the armory and changed into a AMES, making certain the suit was sealed up properly before cycling the locks to get into the power armor bay.

Power Armor Bay

Finding his power armor on the rack; he made a quick check over before moving it toward the armory, then cycled the locks. In the bay, he quickly got out of the suit and stowed it away nearby, then got into his power armor. He ran a quick check of all it's systems, and smiled at himself before heading back into the power armor bay, then looked over and selected the Ke-M2-P3000 teleportation unit, and glanced over at Sune. "Ready sir," he said and awaited teleportation coordinates.

Re: [Mission 10] Finding Freedom

"I have your coordinates locked on to their launch bay. Their computer room should be in the compartment below," MEGAMI told the away team,

As the same time, MEGAMI gave Takeyu an update:

Re: [Mission 10] Finding Freedom

Engineering:

Yaichiro's fingers continued to fly across the keyboard, performing various tasks. He didn't dare activate forcefields to restore atmosphere in areas just yet. He would have recommended using the blast shutters to section off the Bridge Access between the Bridge and the 0G passageway and pump the air out, but that wouldn't solve the fire at both ends -- and it was risky since the bridge's shutter wasn't working properly. They could too easily be exposed to vacuum.

"Gas line to Wardroom Hibachi turned off. Rerouting around damaged CFS power conduits...done. I don't recommend going over 42% power on the Starboard CFS through the rerouted conduits, however. It MIGHT push 50% if you redline it, but it's ill-advised. I also advise the bridge crew changing into AMES at the earliest moment the battle allows in case we wind up having to vent atmosphere to stop the fire from consuming you in there or in case you get covered in the new FOAM. Please tell me when you're ready, so we don't accidentally spray a critical console or a person at the wrong moment."

Unaware that Hanako had already done just what he recommended, he then started scanning for line signs while awaiting her reply...the last thing they needed if their Power Armor teams were leaving the ship would be for some Mishhu from those collided pods to have survived and infiltrated without their knowing it.

Re: [Mission 10] Finding Freedom

Takeyu checked the charge on his teleporation unit; then checked the coordinates. "Got the cords sir, ready when you are," he said and then thought a moment on the status update she sent him.

Though he hated to admit it; he had screwed up again. Thinking quick, he went about sending both Kumiko-hei and Yaichiro-Shosa a message:

Power Armor Bay still has life support, we have a hull breach down here. Can someone please cut life support and route it elsewhere?

Nayacesen-hei

Re: [Mission 10] Finding Freedom

Medbay

Fate was apparently against Konoka: She hated chaos above all things. Thusly, there it was. It was becoming apparent that Konoka's chances were becoming heavily DIY.....or die. Failing to see what help that would do, she grabbed an AMES and thought what might actually would help in this chaotic situation.

She would quickly find that she'd been seperated from half of the Eucharis due to all this chaos. Dodging down the passageway witha medkit, clad in her AMES, she did what she did best: searched for people in need of help. Gracious, she thought, she was becoming independent. She hadn't even bothered to cleanup her precilus medbay. But, then, even that wasn't important enough when there might be half-burnt crew out there. Grabbing her communicator, she texted Sune and hoped Fate was kind enough to make sure he had his comm with him:
Sune-Juni,
Where are you? What is the situation, and, Are you able to discern the extent of damages? If so, are you in contact with the crew? I am hoping to assist in any way possible. Also, are there any ways to locate others? Note, inform mobile crew passageway is damaged.

Konoka-hei

If anything, Konoka knew something was up. If anything else, she knew she'd try to help with that.

Re: [Mission 10] Finding Freedom

Engineering

Kumiko never even paused in her work as Takeyu's message came through, moving straight into redirecting the life support system flow away from the breached/burning/destroyed sections as best she could, and shutting it down in the cases where she couldn't do that. "Bridge, all of your primary systems should be back online now, though I'd still recommend putting as little strain on the systems as you can. Working on life support functions now." She didn't bother to check on Yaichiro's work; even if he wasn't directly in her line of command, he was still more experienced then her, so e could probably handle himself.

Re: [Mission 10] Finding Freedom

Nika winced as the ship shook from the damages taken, finally realising that the distance between both ships are too close for explosive weapons...

"Gomen Taisa..." The neko was expecting her superior to go 'berserk' on her, but suprising Hanako did not. Nika , breathing a sigh of relief, proceeded to check the status of the various areas around the ship.

"Taisa, primary systems back online..." It was then she found herself having difficulty in breathing as smoke started to fill the room. As fast as she could, the neko retrieved a AMES suit and suited up, returning back to her console.

Re: [Mission 10] Finding Freedom

Sune upon getting Konoka's message sent her a quick reply via the suit comm.

Konoka-Hei
To my knowledge all hands are accounted for and unharmed, although that could change rapidly. Take care of everyone while I am gone.
Jalen-Heisho

He then turned to Takeyu, "Teleportation unit charging complete. Coordinates set. Standby for execution."

"Bridge, Away Team deploying" he sent via comm.

Hell of a time to execute a blind teleporation, just have to hope that Charisma's calucations are accurate. he thought double checking his settings, and charging his left forearm weapon.

Looking at over his shoulder he dropped into a one knee defensive posture and said, "Definitely can not expect to surprise them unless our destination is in vacuum, our arrival will sound like a cannon going off inside. Hopefully it will disrupt anyone we encounter upon arrival. Teleportation on my mark.... three... two.... one.... Mark."

The Teleportation unit engaged and in less time than it took for him to blink he arrived at the target coordinates.
