Re: [Mission 15.1] Gifted

Space

As if to answer Takeyu's question, Akemi responded to Helen, unfazed by the possibility of temporary death. "I would do so, but I do not have a teleportation unit equipped. I am secure with dying and being brought back." If it looked like any heavily damaged battle pods were going to try a kamikaze attack on Sune's shuttle she'd momentarily switch to sword mode and attempt to intercept them.

Re: [Mission 15.1] Gifted

"Got it, Shosa!" cried Konoka, and followed Ramiro out, readying her weapon and shooting a burst of defensive fire at the first enemy that came her way. I won't let these monsters get Himeni! she thought to herself with a look of determination. No matter what.

Re: [Mission 15.1] Gifted

Telemachus

We will see how much time two power armors can buy us in this mess. Worse case scenario we get as close as we can with the shuttle and we abandon it and fly using PA to the Eucharis. Just hope it does not come down to that. He altered the random movement sequence in an effort to buy them a bit more time after that he turned to his passenger.

"Is there anything unusual about that planet? I am curious why the NMX had such a sizable force in close proximity to it." he asked Hanako Two

Re: [Mission 15.1] Gifted

Shuttle

Listening to Helen's transmission, she sat in the seat next to Bors. "Your mental backup up to date?" Tomomi asked as she attempted to coax the shuttle's computer system to give her a sensor readout of the battle pods nearest the VIP shuttle and any other important targets of opportunity. The possibility of them being around long enough for the rest of the team to teleport them seemed slim to Tomomi. At least she could do something to help by taking an enemy with them.

Space

Noting that Bors and Tomomi had still yet to vacate their ship despite the failure of its shields, Akemi decided to speak up. "Kurita and Bors, although I am not an officer, I am still your superior. As such, I strongly urge you two to follow Klein-Shosa's order and join us in your armors before your shuttle is destroyed. You were told to take care of your newly assigned unit Bors. I believe the best way to do that is to use it now."

Space

Through the armor team's effort, the shuttles were screened from incoming missiles and it kept pods dodging with meant less accurate shooting for them. In the midst of battle was a huge help and helped the escaping craft hold out longer.

As the shuttles streaked through the swarm of NMX pods, they were able to stay ahead of most of the their attackers but the shuttles were still shot to hell, losing shields, most engine functions, and atmosphere as they were filled with holes all over the place. But somehow they made it. A shimmering teal light shined all around them as they reached the fold sphere around the Eucharis. With a glimmer of blinding light, they reappeared in safer space several light years away along with a handful of enemy pods that the gunship quickly shot down. They were safe.

"All personnel return to the ship as able," Shosho Hanako directed over the radio. She had Blueberry open the cargo bay so the Rapid Deployment Modules could be put back inside.

Sune's Shuttle

Hanako 2 looked around at the smoldering cockpit, then out the window at the YSS Eucharis. She turned to Sune. "Thank you all...being rescued was a very good Yuletide gift." She gave him a warm smile through the AMES helmet visor.

As they drifted closer to the gunship, Hanako also answered his earlier question. "There was nothing unusual about the planet as far as I could tell."

Aboard the Eucharis - Cargo Bay

Akemi quickly flew into the ship, headed to the armor bay and began getting out of her Mindy and into her uniform.

Re: [Mission 15.1] Gifted

Telemachus

"Glad to be of service ma'am." Sune replied as he nudged the battered T7 towards the shuttle bay. He was using thrusters only since he was only having to bring into the bay. Once approached the threshold he activated the CFS propulsion to allow the Telemachus to come a rest on the floor with a slight impact.

As he started the shutdown procedures he looked at the rescued Hanako. "We should probably get you to the Medical Center to be checked out by the Ship's Medical staff. I am sure that the Shôshô will come down there to meet you." he said as he stood up and opened the cockpit door.

Re: [Mission 15.1] Gifted

Misato stayed in the Shuttle with Bors and Tomomi, she stayed to the rear of the shuttle ready to leave it if needed. When the order came for them to leave the ship to help with defense, but as she went to open the rear hatch she realized that she didn’t have any weapons for space based combat. So she stayed aboard hoping that there would be something that she could do to help with the situation. She grabbed hold of a handle and waited. As she watched the blips disappeared her monitor she realized that they had made it to the Eucharis and they all just jumped out of system.

Shuttle Bay

Bors slouched in the pilots chair and popped off his helmet setting it on the floor next to him. After fighting the urge to have a quick smoke to calm his nerves, Bors gave a sharp kick to the control panel saying to it in an exausted, somewhat agitated tone

"I know the shields have failed, but we've landed.... don't you have an off switch?"

As if to irk him more the alarm seemed to get louder and also remind him about the air leak in the cock pit. Finally fed up Bors grabbed his knife and plunged it into the speaker, letting loose several sparks and ultimately killing the noise.

"Ill fix it later" Bors grumbled as he removed his knife.

Almost forgetting that there was someone else in the cockpit with him, Bors turned to Tomomi and said,

"Well that turned out better than expected, was about to tell you i don't have a backup when we entered the Eucharis's fold sphere, but i guess that points mute now."

Re: [Mission 15.1] Gifted

Ramiro followed the T7 into the shuttle bay, opting to escort it through its entire journey. Once he made sure the the objective was safely on board he redirected his route to the power armor bay. Once he arrived there he suited down, removing the modules from his armor and placing them in their necessary location before looking around, wondering where he should go from here. Figuring that this leg of the mission was over, he head for the bridge to resume his normal duties.

Re: [Mission 15.1] Gifted

Takeyu was just about to follow Helen's previous order when he found himself no longer in danger, with the Eucharis being right there and there being no more battlepods. He let out a sigh of relief, thankful that at least he survived yet another mission.

He followed the shuttles into the shuttle bay and landed onto the deck and took a few steps forward. He then moved off to the side to get out of the way of any other shuttles and kept an eye out, even though the battlepods were gone he was still cautious.

With a slight shake of the head he walked into the power armor bay and returned his weapons then went back to the bay and placed the armor on a rack. When done, he exited out and got dressed into uniform again. He was glad to be out of the armor, but now he was worried about the amount of damage and repairs the ship would need.

Re: [Mission 15.1] Gifted

After removing the modules from her armor and storing both, Akemi mentally interfaced with her communicator to locate Takeyu. Then she made her way towards the officer while sending him a message informing him she was ready to assist in making repairs to the ship.

Re: [Mission 15.1] Gifted

After following Ramiro into the shuttle bay and making sure that the shuttle-and more importantly, Himeni- got in OK, Konoka headed to the PA bay, got out of and stored her armor, and got into a uniform. She then headed to the MedBay to wait for anyone who had gotten injured on the way back.
As she waited for any injured to arrive, Konoka began to wonder how Himeni would react to meeting her original. After all, there could only be one "real" Hanako, right? Konoka glanced at her ST station and shuddered. Backups were a dangerous business indeed- Himeni proved that by simply existing.

Re: [Mission 15.1] Gifted

Shuttle Bay

The shuttle bay's armored doors let out a metallic groan and a hiss as they finished closing and sealing. The environmental systems rumbled as the bay filled with atmosphere. Hanako removed her helmet, nodded to Sune, and stepped out of the hole-covered shuttle craft to hear the familiar sounds of a starship interior. In a way, ships were like caves, she mused. But usually less dirty.

Her old friend Blueberry appeared at the door. "This way, please," the blue-haired neko said, leading the way to the medical lab.

Bridge

Shosho Hanako stood up from her seat and gave Ramiro a hug when he came in. "Welcome home," she told him. "I am going to greet our guest. Please set a course for the Virginia system."

Re: [Mission 15.1] Gifted

Bridge

When Ramiro walked onto the bridge, he was caught of guard by Hanako standing and hugging him. After everything that they'd been through, after over three years together on the ship, after him saving her life and her saving his, after her mentoring him into the person he was today, even after he had come home from those many months instructing at Fort Ready, Hanako had never hugged him before.

Ramiro returned the hug with a big smile, squeezing tightly, before he released his grip to allow Hanako to be on her way.

"Thank you Shosho, for everything." Ramiro smiled at her before turning and walking to the other side of the bridge. Once he was near his station he plopped himself into the seat, pausing for a moment as he appreciated how cushioned the chair was, thinking to himself how much the Shosho did to make sure her crew was happy and comfortable and how she always kept the luxuries on her ship state-of-the-art.

With a big grin on his face he spun the chair a couple times before spinning to face his system. Pulling up the space map, he plotted a course that would take them north, avoiding the unnamed nebula just north of them, and entering the Samurai Sector via a small gap between the Ran and Tsuya nebula before arriving at Virginia.

Re: [Mission 15.1] Gifted

Shuttle Bay
With the Telemchus shut down and Hanako-2 being escorted by Blueberry, Sune exiting the shuttle. He took a moment to examine the exterior of the shuttle. Before walking away he gave it an affectionate pat for a job well done.

Turning he made his way to the Power Armor bay. He stowed his armor in its location, and put on his gun belt and rank pins.

Sune made his way to the bridge, stepped in and surveyed the bridge. He saw his friend Ramiro at his station. "Nice to have you back aboard my friend." he said as he returned to his station.

Even with the hazardous part of the mission over, there was still much work to be done. After mission reports, sensor log analysis. He unlocked his station and began a review of the various data files on hand. He knew that his Hanako would be expecting a report and his recommendations for citations etc, when they returned.

Re: [Mission 15.1] Gifted

"Tired of having me planet side, eh?" Ramiro asked with a chuckle. "Can you believe it's been almost four years? In fact, if I recall correctly, your contract is set to expire in about five months." As he spoke he began prepping the hyperspace fold drive so that they would be ready to leave the moment he was given the order.

Re: [Mission 15.1] Gifted

"To be honest, I had not given any real thought to my contract. I have no intention of leave the Star Army any time soon. So I will be renewing my contact when the opportunity arises.

As for having you back on the bridge its two fold, I am glad you returned from Planet H unscathed, and I appreciate having someone at the helm whom I can trust." Sune said with a smile.

Re: [Mission 15.1] Gifted

YSS Eucharis - Shuttle Bay

With the safety provided by the hyperfold jump, Helen rode the shuttle in as it made its landing, and rolled off the top of it once it touched down, sticking the landing after dismounting her ride in. As soon as she hit the shuttle bay deck, she went about making her way to the power armor bay to store her equipment. There was a debriefing to be done, there was no doubt about that, and Helen wanted to make herself available if her instincts on the matter were right.

It felt odd for Helen, to wiggle her way out of a new model Mindy, and it was an oddity that she disliked. When she caught wind of the fact that the ship was headed to Virginia, it brought a feeling of excitement, it was a prime opportunity for her to either get off the ship, or resupply with equipment from her antiquated home away from home, the YC-28. She forwarded a heavily encrypted message ahead, so her ship could be at Virginia, for the purpose of transferring a replacement Kylie and components... that was, if she was not going to be transferring herself. It all depended on orders from above.

Helen knew one thing for sure though, with the successful rescue of Taisa Hanako, a feather had just been added to her cap in regard to her service record. Perhaps, she thought, it would be possible to return to the good graces of Taisho Yui. She knew that ever since the fiasco which took place with the Nepleslians in regard to the tail end of the first SMX war, she had not been on the good side of the former Empress. Though, with the way things were headed in the Empire, Helen's wants for her career were simple; either serve until the war would end, and a prime opportunity to retire would be presented, or, advance to a position where she would not be prone to the whims and fancies of too many individuals above her in the chain of command. One thing was absolutely clear to Helen, as she looked at the Mindy which she had crawled out of; she could use a break from the front-line soldier routine.
