Sune watched the exchange between Hanako and Luca. He really did not know much about this Luca person. He was still thinking about his reply to Hanako. He had given her offer a lot of thought, but he was afraid that to much water had passed under the bridge.

He looked at Emiko and could see her confusion clearly on her facial features, he mouthed, 'I will explain later.' to her and she gave a slight nod of acknowledgement.

"I was helping an injured crew member," Hanako explained, examining the signature in her coat for a moment before folding it over her arm. She carefully took the old rank badge in her hands along with the business card. "I will put this in my museum," Hanako said. "Why did you decide not to reenlist? I think you could have made a good Star Army captain."

Re: Mission 18.1 - Winter Leave

The answer to that question was simple, but perhaps simple or sentimental when said. Call it wanderlust, yearning, or perhaps feeling unqualified for the task at hand after the harrowing events of the YSS Goban. He was the wrong man in the wrong place at the time and he was put even further into his place by the two NH-X that outwitted the Goban Crew, forcing them to stray into SMX space - and the 1st Fleet rescuing them incognito. "It's a bit of a story, you might want to ask SAINT about it later."

The chaos of it all caused him to go out his own way since he was fresh faced before then. He drank his troubles away with his former crew at first as they moved on within the Star Army and elsewhere. "I guess it was because I felt I couldn't contribute, so I went out and made my own future."

And on a drunken whim, Luca Pavone started the team that would end up making history as the greatest non-government odd jobbers in the universe; Responsible for bringing in murderers, destroying terrorist organisations, the containment and eventual destruction of a megavirus, evacuating a crossroads space station from the NMX and furniture delivery.

And now he had a daughter. He could feel his communicator buzz in his pocket. He was going to say something else, but he flicked it open and saw a text message from Vitalia Pavone; The NH-17 child of Luca Pavone and Naoko Aihara.

'Dad, when are you going to be home?' was the message. Her identity and species was unknown to the universe at large, and the phone simply had her tagged as 'Vita'. The picture for her looked like a Yamataian, with humanoid ears, four fingers and a thumb, curled up on a couch and smiling at the camera, face framed in hair the same colour as her father's and the length of her mother's.

He smiled and knew that he had to get a move on with his own shopping. "I have to go - my daughter needs a gift." He pocketed his communicator and made a respectful bow towards the Shosho. "Please tell Ozaki Kyosuke and Nicholas Saiga that I say Hi, and Happy holidays and thank you for your time, Ketsurui Hanako!"

And he disappeared into the crowd, with the occasional head turning to examine him and wonder if it really was him or another impersonator or cosplayer. It was still easy to spot him, and he walked into a department store, eventually meandering into the children's clothing section, receiving the occasional odd glance or speculative photograph.

Re: Mission 18.1 - Winter Leave

Eucharis

Once breakfast was over with Natsumi had returned to her cabin, grabbed her long coat and cap before heading down to the main cargo hold and off the ship. She was excited to get going and do some shopping and visit the Onsen.

She called for a cab as she waited for Bors to join her. The air was cold, causing her breath to appear as puffs of white smoke as she breathed out. Natsumi was glad for her thick coat right now, though in the short skirt of her new uniform, her legs were a bit chilly.

She wondered where Bors would want to go first. Shopping or Onsen, both would be awesome. She would ask him once he arrived, where he would like to go first.

Imperial Center Mall - Parking Lot

It took Takeyu a bit of time, he wasn't expecting to see so many people at a mall on this day but perhaps he should've given the holiday season. He fond a place relatively close to one of the malls many entrances and exits, and parked the van. He made sure to engage its security fuctions before he got out, grabbed his cap and put it on then made his way into the mall to look for Hanako and Sune.

As Sune watched Luca walk off, he approached Hanako. "So, where were we.... Ah yes, your message.

First let me clarify a few things, the acquisition of the Firebird was just one in a long line of salvage purchases I have made. I purchased her to serve as a test bed for some ideas I had to help protect our ships. It was only after getting embroiled in the political machinations surrounding the Byakuren that I made the decision to take her into service so I could get away from it all.

So yes, I thought about your message. It is a very tempting offer. I never truly wanted to leave the Eucharis in the first place. But, there is something I need to say, before I can make that decision."

He looked up and spotted a traditional sprig of a plant displayed during the holidays. He maneuvered Hanako under it.

"Hanako, you are a Ketsurui Princess, part of the most powerful family in the Empire, and while not born to the Clan, you were trained to move through the political halls. You are a beautiful woman, one that I have been proud to call my friend. Even if you are the most willful, stubborn, and frustrating woman that I have ever had the pleasure to know.

I am just a soldier, with no family, no political aspirations, and a handful of good people that I am proud to call friends. I do not know when or how caring for a friend becomes something stronger. But I do know that my feelings for you have."

He glanced up briefly at the green sprig, "This may very well be my only opportunity to kiss you, so I going to take it." He then pulled her closer and kissed her soundly.

For so long, Hanako had wanted this. And with his mouth on her soft lips he wanted him. Her body felt warm and tingly and her face flushed with a warm rosy glow and she felt hot and empty down below, leaving her in a bit of a daze. After kissing Sune for a long time, Hanako pulled away and took a deep, ragged breath before asking him, "Sune, do you love me?"

Re: Mission 18.1 - Winter Leave

Eucharis

Bors peered out of the Eucharis bay doors, admiring the snow covered landscape he hadn't seen for quite some time. Tightening his jacket around himself he made his way toward Natsumi whom he guessed was waiting for him. As the snow crunched under his boots, the idea of making a snowball and tossing it at her went through his head. The idea was dismissed when he thought of what would happen if he missed and accidentally hit one of the dock workers. As Bors played around with the idea of a full scale snowball fight throughout the entire star ship landing pad, he nearly ran into his room ate and quickly got his mind back onto the task at hand.

"So shopping and the Onsen on the agenda today right?"

Sune was unsure what Hanako's response was going to be, but was very pleased by the results. His pulse was racing, a yearning caused parts of his body to respond on their own. For a moment the universe had consisted of only the two of them.

When the kiss ended he straightened up, a grin came to his face when he looked at Hanako's reaction. "Yes. Watashi wa Hanako, anata o aishiteimasu. I love you Hanako."

Hanako blushed more as she felt Sune press into her. After a moment, she had to step back to compose herself. She looked up at his face and gave him a happily embarrassed smile. Only her plans and military decorum kept her from running off with him to fulfill her desires. She took another deep breath and then straightened her uniform jacket and managed a soft "thank you." Squeezing his hand, she locked eyes with him and told him, "I have feelings for you as well. Please...consider me yours."

Just then, Sune was able to spot Takeyu looking for the two of them.

Eucharis

Natsumi smiled as Bors arrived. "Yeah! What would you like to do first?" she answered her roommates question. She was more than happy to start off with either option.

Sune replied to Hanako's comment with a grin, "I understand you have plans tonight, however I have a suite at the Kyoto Tower Hotel for the next few days. The master room is reported to have a king size bed, a large tub, and there a hot tub that overlooks the city. Perhaps when you have time, we can take care of some unfinished business."

He spotted his friend Takeyu in the mall approaching, "Well, since it seems I will be returning to the Eucharis, we will need to come up with a contingency for the Firebird." He said to Hanako as he waved to get Takeyu's attention.

Emiko watched the exchange between Hanako and her master. Her sensors giving her more information than those around her could glean. She was pleased that her master had not only resolved the conflict with his friend, but apparently taken the relationship to a new level. If she interpreted things right, she would soon have a Mistress.

Cargo bay loading ramp

Misato watched her roommate study the cargo bay, when she noticed the cab had pulled up. "Hey Mimi-chan the cab is here lets go." She sent a message to the rest of the group that she'll meet up with them later, and to give a heads up where to meet.

"Ok first thing is first, we need to swing through the warehouse district and take a look at that all, i have and see if I can get a little more unloaded."

Re: Mission 18.1 - Winter Leave

Cargo Bay

Mitsuko shook her head, pulled out of her distraction. "Huh? Oh!" With a squeak she floated after Misato to catch up, avoiding the snow on the ground. She shivered, quickly getting into the cab and out of the cold.

"Brr...hmm, appraising, unloading and rearranging cargo, Suzume-chan?" She beamed. "I'd be happy to help!"

Re: Mission 18.1 - Winter Leave

Cab

"You don't really need to, all I'm planning on doing is making sure everything is stored right and checking to see if there is anything I want to send back to the ship."

As the cab drove toward the warehouse district Misato watched the area, the snow made her think about the last mission. Sighing she remembered that when they got back to the ship she need to start working on a training schedule and mock mission. I was happy the Sho'sho' didn't kick her off the ship but as the same time she was not looking toward building a training operation.

"Mimi-chan," Misato's voice was soft and filled with concern, "Do you know anything about training operations?" Misato asked just as the cab reached in front of the warehouse that she rented space in.

Re: Mission 18.1 - Winter Leave

Cab

Mitsuko tsked at the thought. "There's never a good reason to be unorganized or inefficient, Suzume-chan." She enjoyed the ride, mostly glad to be out of the cold for a few minutes. It was nice to relax, especially when the rest of the day was likely to be busy.

She turned to look at her roommate as the cab slowed to a stop, frowning at the change in mood. "...yes? I mean, I went through training, just like you. I um..." Murakami blushed. "...I might have taken a little longer, and not scored as well in some areas. S-so I did have to do a lot of studying. It's easier to take a test, no matter what type, when you understand how it's created and graded." She hesitated before reaching over to take Misato's hands in hers, squeezing them reassuringly.

Hanako pondered Sune's offer, excited about what the night could bring. "So you will return to the Eucharis? That makes me very happy. I was thinking it may be time for Blueberry to get her own command," Hanako told Sune. "Unless you have another suggestion?"

Takeyu was pretty close to wondering if he'd taken a wrong turn when he noticed Sune and Hanako, along with someone else, in the distance. The wave Sune gave made him smile as he approached the two officers, although he didn't say anything at first due to Hanako's question to Sune, he didn't want to interrupt.

"Actually I think Blueberry would be a good fit for the crew of the Firebird. They are good people, most of them new soldiers. She just better not scratch the paint." Sune said with a grin in reply to Hanako's question.

He then turned his attention to Takeyu, "Happy Holidays Takeyu-San. You are looking well."

Warehouse

"Well here we are," Misato said as she got out of the cab, with a few words to the cabbie she made sure that it would be here when they got done inside. "Your right though, i really not sure if anything is in any form of organization. haven't seen any of it really in person."

She nodded to the watchman and showed her id. She got the location information to her section and then lead Mimi-chan down there, "here is a list of what I am suppose to have, after the last deal. if you want dive right in, but I'm just planing on going in through it quickly and grabbing a few things to bring back to the ship." Once they reached the lot she opened the door and started looking trough the items.
