Armor Storage

Murr eyed the newest method of donning the armor as she watched Tiodorno step into his chosen module to watch the process. After a few minutes of watching, she moved to her module and began the process in getting the new armor on.

At first she paniced, but held still the way that Tiodorno did. Her heart raced as the aromor was placed around her. She wanting to jump out and go for the conventional spacesuits which she was fully trained on during her Zero G training.

She was going to miss the Stakos. Specially the one she had faced combat with. Learning the hard way of what it could do and not do.

Once she recieved the signal that it was finished assembled on her. She took a few tentive steps. At first she was confused as it didn't feel like armor at all and moved as if she was wearing her normal bulky clothing, but a lot smoother. She moved to a cleared area and began cavorting around as if her suit was suddenly infested with biting fleas. High jumps where she banged off the ceiling and crashing tumbles to the floor. She put it through it paces to see how compatible it was to unarmed fighting manuevers. She wanted to break it before they left the ship to see how much it could take in punishment by the operator.

Definitely worked up a good sweat in the antics of hers. Then began the process of communication checks as she moved to get her aRotysa Tyokame Nortejo from the armory as instructed. She snagged a few extra clips, remembering her berzerker rampage from her first encounter. ~~Better to have it and not need it~~ Thought raced through her mind as she moved from the weapon stowage room to allow others access.

With her cybernetic interface with the armor, Murr tried to speak using her mind along with the suit's vocal programming. " 'Esting ..... Won ... Toooo. Tree... For... Five... " She rolled her eyes at hearing what she was producing through the suit's vocalizer system. She smiled as she knew it would get better with more practice. She just had to tweak the voice synthisizer to produce a more feminine sound than the flat neutral default voice it came with.

Armor Storage

La'tâ had some complaints about Tiodorno's idea of a good set up, but she kept them to herself, if things got bad she was sure he'd reconsider his plan. She then looked through the armor and found the smallest set of armor and read the manual quickly for how to don the armor. "Since these are fitted to our size, are they going to be issued to us or the ship?" She stepped onto the platform and let the machines go to work putting the armor on her.

After the mechanical arms put the suit together on her and let her down she decided to start it our on intermediate setting slowly getting used to the increased strength. While she was in this mode she made her way over to the rifles, picking one up and a few extra magazines. She was about to do more with the suit when she glanced over to Murr seeing her put the armor through it's paces. She decided that a stress test wasn't required and she simply needed to get used to how the armor operated so she switched it to full power and then did a few light jumps, and then a full flip to see how the suit corrected her. And while her landing was a little unsteady it was manageable.

Reading over the brief, Memi to note of three spelling errors, one grammar error, and lack of diagrams. All in all it was still informative, though it did nothing to alleviate the anxiety of going back into a hostile environment. Couldn't one of the others gather the data and transmit it back to him. Then with out the stress of the environment weighing down on him, he could go over the data and get the answers needed.

Stepping up with a scowl and a sigh, Memi let the machine suit him up, then reached for the helmet once it was finished and he was suited up. Securing the helmet,he set the armors control level basic, and knelt next to the case that contained the vid recorders. He started working on attaching one of the recorders to his shoulder. he feared he was going to have to use hull tape.

Armor Storage

Toidorno stepped out of the module and calibrated his armor. He also reviewed the data being sent to him from the bridge. The Surveyors had arrived on scene and the Yome would shortly. He walked over to the armory and selected a weapon from the racks. He stepped back out and slung the Rotysa Tyokame Nortejo over his shoulder. He adjusted the three extra clips that he had taken on the armor's belt.

"Here is the latest information on the Âmuso Ibâka. She is adrift in the nebula, no vessels are currently within sensor range. Initial scans show that the ship has taken considerable weapon fire. There are weapon scoring across much of the hull and most of her weapons appear to be heavily damaged.

The power systems of the Âmuso Ibâka appear to be operating on backup power at a reduced level. Sâvyjo Hewid Letes once we are on board and we confirm no hostiles, it will fall to you to get to engineering and assess the situation.

Sâvyjo'sa Memi Sotar, the Ruoka Bultor specifically requested that no one but our Kynlumu'a was to go through the records of their Kynlumu'a. This is due to the sensitive nature of the ship's mission. Once you find the quarters for their Kynlumu'a you need to look at the data and see if there is anything present regarding who attacked them. After that, prepare to store the records of the Âmuso Ibâka's Kynlumu'a, and naturally any personal accounts that they have.

Everyone else take a Tyokame Nortejo and four clips. While we have no indications of life signs, I prefer that we are armed just in case there are some hostiles still on board. Sar Memi, you have the option to not take one since your assignment is Lore collecting, and protection."

Tiodorno looked at the information updates coming in from the bridge.

"The Yome is going to take a position 1,000 meters from the Âmuso Ibâka. We will EVA from the Yome to the Âmuso Ibâka and enter via the upper airlock."

Armor Storage

Murr secured her clips and the extra she had grabbed to the armor she was wearing. She liked it so far. She was a walking tank, yet with the agility of not having it, once she gotten used to it and then shunted the mechanical operation to her subconscious that moved her naturally, fully intregrating with the Armor. She loved the way the tail part of the armor also moved with her tail. She had a built in club for those that tried to attack her from the rear.

~~ Merrrowwa! ~~ Murr thought as her Armored form emitted a soft mechanical rumble of a purr? Growl? As the suits vocal emmiters responded to her thought, "Errrowwa," then gave a soft chuffing sound like an old steam powered engines, 'Puff! Puff! Puff! Puff!'

Murr crashed to the floor, shaking as she lost the motor function of the suit, as the Puff Puffs increased in intensity as Murr lost it to the laughter at the sounds she was emmitting through the suit vocal emmitters.

With a nod Memi realized why he was going to be the one having to go above all others... there was too much data, and all of it needed to be secured. With one last resigning sigh, he went about grabbing a Rotysa Tyokame Nortej, along with two spare clips for it. The weapon went and attached to his back, and the clips went into his over the shoulder satchel bag.

In the bag he had plenty of data storage devices, along with patch cables that would allow him to transfer the data. He had kept them on his person for the vid recorders, but they would do for retaining the data from the ship.

Now he just waited, standing here with the plasma weapon on his back and a leather satchel on his hip. He looked a bit out of place in the group.

La'tâ experimented briefly with the suits's tail, getting used to it, she even turned the laser to minimum intensity and tried to draw simple shapes on the floor. This was probably the most awkward part of the armor. "Tin-To'a, does that mean if possible we should bring the ship back on line?" She did sound a little interested in that possibility but that seemed to be the only thing she might be looking forward to on this mission "Also who will accompany Memi-Sar?"

Armour Storage

Syaboa stepped into her module and got her armour on as she stepped out in her armour she turned and watched the others as she moved in her armour slowly and she thought about her past and moved from the others trying to think and not reveal her real feeling to the others as these emotions weren't what she wanted the others to know that she could feel.

Toidorno watched the others familiarize themselves with the armor. They reminded him of baqli playing. There was no harm, if they were busy with the armor they were not working themselves up. He looked at the latest data from the Kyntago. There was definitely something familiar about the markings on the hull. Perhaps when they were closer they would be better able to identify them.

In response to La'tâ's questions he turned to her; "Our mission is to investigate the ship. If we can restore some of the systems to make that job easier. Then we will do so. That is a reason why we have a Bajao'a coming with us. As for our Kynlumu'a he will be accompanied by Sâvyjo Syaboa Purpur.

Sar-La'tâ, do you think the Tin-Ta'a is going to appreciate you carving on the deck plates? We all have tails the Anoka'ano just gives you some new abilities. Time to start moving to the Airlock. Eva is in five minutes. So don't forget anything." He then started walking towards the corridor that would lead to the airlock.

Hewid had the items that Toidorno said everyone was to have, but he also had a small case. Tools he would need when he started checking out the Âmuso Ibâka. There might be tools on the ship. But these ones he knew were in good shape, and the diagnostic items fully calibrated.

Syaboa looked over at the people as they talked and wondered why she was charged to accompany the Kynlumu'a as the newest member of the ship she was just shocked that they put that much faith in her already.

La'ta stopped with the laser when addressed about it, while it was true she had a tail she had never bothered to pay attention to the exact pointing of the tip, and wanted to make sure she could keep the laser pointed in the direction she wanted. She was satisfied with her results as well, she couldn't do laser carvings anytime soon, but she was fairly sure she wouldn't hit things she didn't aim at. "I will bring medical supplies...though I'm not sure how much help they will be if you sustain an injury severe enough to penetrate this armor."

Armor Storage:

Murr recovered from her laughter, which put her in good spirits and worked quickly through the connection she had with the suit not to transmit her thoughts. She grabbed the crate that contained her explosives after making sure her weapon was secure.

The crate was a bit heavy to be carrying it alone. Along with the suit, it was manageable, but awkward. She followed Toidorno. Being careful, she managed with a bit of struggle of manuevering through the various portals that divided one section of the ship to the next.

Murr brought up the HUD on her screen to read the data as she made her way to the Airlock. Giving herself time to become more intimate with the newest batch of power armor. Also her report on the operation of the power armor to include in her debrief when she got back to the ship.

Life couldn't get any better for her. Intregrated into a fighting team and crewing aboard a ship. It showed in minor ways as she showed independance and teamwork beyond her handicap. She wasn't using it to get the cushy jobs either as she also pulled her fair share of the scut work about the ship.

With the trust of her leaders, teamates and her of them, Murr moved with confidence into the unknown of a new mission. She was looking forward to the new challenges being brought forth of serving aboard a warship and the variety of mission it provided.

The Tin-To'a watched as the others started moving. "Sar-Murr, get one of the other to assist you. You will not be able to maneuver that container when we go across alone. Otherwise you'll go tumbling off into the darkness."

He replied to La'ta, "Accidents can happen; especially aboard a ship that has been attacked. There is also the possibility there could be survivors on board in some of the shielded areas like the labs. Best to be prepared and as self sufficient as we can be."

He stopped at the airlock. "I know you have all had your mandatory training for EVA activities. But this is different. You are not in the proximity of the World Station or in one of the bays. We are stepping out into open void with no tethers. Since the Âmuso Ibâka was fired upon there will likely be debris of varying size and composition. Low level headlamps while transitioning. Sar Hewid, you are with me. The rest of you pair up. Once we step out the next pair move into the lock and follow two minutes after."

Hewid moved up and stood next to Toidorno. He had his weapon slung against his back and had to sizable containers. The toolkit he had earlier and a box of various spare parts. "Ready when you are."

Toidorno stepped into the airlock and was followed by Hewid. Once the door to the corridor was closed the airlock started decompressing. As the air pressure in the lock lowered, the seals of the Anoka'ano expanded slightly to ensure a seal. When the panel showed that the pressure was equalized he activated the hatch. The large reinforced door slid silently to the left. Once open he stepped out and used his backpack to control his movement.

Hewid was a bit nervous about stepping out, but this was his chance to prove himself. He did not get to go with the others in the Stako. If he had he was sure that he would have been promoted, and he would have made his punla happy. He wobbled a bit stepping out the mass of the containers took a second or two for him to compensate.

Toidorno hit the cycle command from outside and as the door slid shut he activated his thrusters to start them moving, programming the unit for a pulse burn so that he would accelerate for half the distance and slow down for the other half. It ensured that when he got close to the vessel his velocity would be at a safe margin.

With a few choice words under his breath about leaving the perfectly good starship, Memi lined up at the hatch and waited for the count down. Glancing over he wondered if Syaboa was going to be helpful or just in the way once they got to the quarters of the other lore keeper.

Murr motioned for La'ta give her paw with the crate of explosives and to team up with for the trip from the Yome' to the Âmuso Ibâka. Any extra gear that La'ta had, could be attached to her crate for the trip across, as she waited for Memi and Syaboa to be process through the airlock before them.

La'tâ headed over to Murr and smiled. "I'll help you with that." She fastened a medical kit to the crate and then took the handle at the side opposite Murr and lifted it. "There's a lot of explosives in here...do you think we're going to need this many?" She sounded a bit concerned, she couldn't think of any safe situations that would require this much.

Murr smiled, even though La'ta couldn't see it through her visor. She 'spoke' through the suit's system, " 'Etter to 'ave it and not need it." Patting her extra clips beyond what was authorized.

Not to be insultive of La'ta, but the anology was applicable. "Like bringing a Medic along. We 'ope for the best, but the future is unknown."

Murr reached out and gently thumped La'ta on the shoulder to show she meant no insult. She was happy La'ta was there with the team. The team was in good paws as La'ta proved herself in the last mission.

EVA Halfway point

Hewid and Toirdorno continued on their approach to the Âmuso Ibâka. The closer he got the clearer the damage could be seen. She had taken quite a beating. He wished he had access to his data pad, so he could compare the weapon scoring. It seemed familiar to him, but hull battle damage repair was not his primary field. He felt his backpack start thrusting to slow his and the Tin-To'a's approach. "Both airlocks appear to be intact. I suggest we target the upper deck one. That would put us closest to the command center."

Toidorno looked at the ship. "That would seem to make sense provided the upper lock will actually work. The vehicle area also appears intact. We should send a group to check it out. If there is a shuttle we can use that to transport any items we want to get to the Yome." He said in response to Hewid's suggestion. He then sent a transmittion via his suit to Tasi, requesting that they have a pilot standing by.

Meanwhile the airlock completed its cycling and the interior door opened to allow the next pair to enter.

La'tâ gave a soft nod to Murr. "I suppose you are right, better to have and not need than need and not have." She picked up her end once more and heading to the air lock with Murr "Shall we go?" She did have basic EVA training like all the rest, but it was something that disturbed her still, the vast emptiness of space like a bottomless pit was surrounding you made her very weary of mistakes. They did have thrusters on their suits and orientation systems, but that did not extinguish her worry, however she was given a job and she was going to get it done.

Murr grabbed her end and lifted when La'ta lifted her end. She moved towards the Airlock, matching pace with La'ta as excitement built up as she got closer to the airlock. This was her second EVA without a tether. The first was in graduating the Zero G course back in basic under the watchful eyes of the Instructors and Safety Personnel.
