The whine coming from the shocktrooper continued to grow in volume, and a red glow started to show from several of the deep gashes. There was little time left before the units self destruct detonated.

"JUST PICK IT UP AND THROW IT!" Called Hoshi from a far corner. He wasn't going to come anywhere near that thing now. He was the damn Medic, and throwing time bombs around wasn't in his job description.

But... Damnit.

Hoshi rushed towards the fallen Trooper, ignoring the twinges of pain from his wound, and grasped it with both hands as firmly as possible. Then he began to try and pick it up to toss at the enemy Mindy. A new surge of adrenaline coursed through his veins with the sudden excitement. He would die if nobody helped him. They would probably all die if they didn't help him.

"HELP ME NOW." He shouted.

Apparently words like "here" and "boot" were either too complex or horribly confusing to the enlisted crew members, each of which seemed to have different and unique perspectives on how to interpret what Haruhi thought was a rather simple command. In the few seconds it took for the scene to degenerate from what could have been a coordinated transfer of kinetic energy via a boot to the face to the present circus of independently acting acrobats and strongmen Haruhi felt her despair and anger rise in rapid succession.

""JUST" FOLLOW DAMNED INSTRUCTIONS!" Momentarily blinded by her building rage the Juni used the Mindy's combined field system to quickly re-aim herself down the corridor before she violently launched her armour feet-first at the corpse Yukimura had latched onto, the short distance cleared in a matter of a brief few seconds. As she impacted with force enough to send a sharp shock through her Mindy, Haruhi was far from concerned about whether the attached corpsman would be following the bomb-to-be on its journey or not, just as long as it ended up closer to the enemy Mindy than their own.

Haruhi's impact was sufficently forceful that her armor's feet left an impression in the damaged armor of the shocktrooper. After that the basic laws of physics took effect. The shocktrooper move away from Haruhi not quite at the speed she had hit it with given its greater mass, but it moved fast enough to move towards the far end of the cross corridor.

Hoshi having just gotten a firm grip on the shocktrooper found himself being dragged down the coridor with it.

Hoshi grunted with the effort to make the few steps to catch up with the bomb. Close enough now, he shoved with all the strength in his arms.

Satisfied -- or rather, terrified -- enough now, he turned tail and began to run back to cover.

The shocktrooper carcass continued moving away from the Away Team and towards the NMX in the Mindy 1H. Realizing the danger she was in, she pressed a control on her armor. A small clap of thunder could be heard as the Mindy 1H vanished from the hallway. A second later the aether power supply in the Shocktrooper exploded.

The Away Team was out of the immediate blast area of the, anyone still in the hallway found themselves buffet by the shockwave of the detonation, along with copious amounts of Mishhu slime from the walls that plastered everything in its path.

When the smoke cleared, there was a spherical hole blasted into the floor below, the ceiling above, and a large portion of the wall to the room where the teleportation devices was vaporized as well. Severed power lines hung from the edges of the hole in the ceiling arced and flashed as the struck each other.

"Eew. . ." Kyoka groaned the moment she had recovered from the stun of the shockwave. she grimaced as she remembered a few of the movies she had watched when she was still a 'cadet'. "Why slime? Why is slime always involved with alien explosions?"

The Neko peered around the corner the moment she got back to the crossing of the halls and grinned.

"The enemy Mindy isn't here any more! We can take the teleporters now!" She called over the communicators.

Asi grunted, having been shielded from the blast by the corner. He glanced around the corner, and saw that Kyoka was correct, but hesitated. "Wait just a second. It's entirely possible it's a trap, or the armor is getting ready to come back. We should be a bit cautious."

“Why not? I kno-... I have known Neko's who'd pay to be in this sort of scene.” Haruhi frowned lightly behind the blank armour of her helmet, then shook her head once quickly. “When you're on an enemy ship, everything is a trap. Including standing where we are. If that armour isn't going to come back then something else will, so let's get through this new entrance we kindly made our selves, grab the merch, and get the hell out of here before either can.” The crack they had heard before the explosion and the lack of any appropriately destroyed Mindy component's grated against the Juni's mind.

“Im'inao, radio the Aeon and inform them we've run into an enemy Mindy, and that it's likely that it has one of our objectives with it.” So much for a snatching and grabbing them all. Haruhi killed the remnant movement from her Mishhu-kick manoeuvre then used her Miindy's CFS to fly around the corner and into the rather second-hand cross-passage. “Everyone form up, let's get in there and grab what's left for the taking.”

"Hai." Hoshi said, feeling wobbly from his leaving adrenaline rush. Taking up position at the back of the Away Team, he waited to move in and get the device.

Asi nodded. Fair enough. He stepped to the side of the hallway, hopefully out of the way of any stray fire. "Aeon, this is Im'inao-hei. We're moving to secure the teleporters now, but have encountered an enemy Mindy, which escaped, most likely through the use of one of the units. We'll keep you updated if there are any developments."

Kyoka immediately took one of Haruhi's flanks, eager to get this over with. With all luck, the hard part was all over and they could confiscate the goods without any more trouble. If not. . . Well, there isn't much else to say.

"Not to worry Away Team, the Mindy 1H appeared in space near our position. We have taken it out. Get those modules and get the heck out of there. Ise-Taii out."

--------------------------------------------

The room that the teleportation units were in was not a store room, but some sort of workshop. Except for the mess caused by explosion, most of the room was clean and organized. One of the teleportation units was attached to some sort of electronic system. The others were stacked on a shelf in the room, along with other miscellaneous items.

"Well that's one less thing to worry about," Haruhi remarked as she surveyed the workshop's interior and counted the number of teleportation units, and was surprised to discover that there were more than she had anticipated.

"Right, here's the plan. Drop your barrier modules over here," she pointed to a position near to what remained of the wall that lead back the way they had come, "then get connected up with one of the Pee-three thousands and start it charging straight away; we're taking the shortcut out of here."

Haruhi matched words with actions as she lithely disconnected her Mindy from its barrier module and placed it against the wall, then swiftly floated over to grab one of the teleportation modules. "We'll each be carrying four other tele-packs when we jump outta here, but make sure you keep your rifle arm free and able to dish pain until the last moment, since things are likely to get hot in here again."

Let's hope none of them ate a big breakfast, 'cause this is probably running on the edge of the safe mass envelope...

Kyoka also disengaged her barrier module, doing the same as her superior did. As quickly as she could, she attatched the prottype teleporters to the back of her Mindy in place of it. Making sure that her gun was securely held in one arm, the Neko snagged several of the teleporters, using her body for support.

"Ready to go when you are. . ." She muttered. Experimental tech was dangerous, and that worried her. Especially when this tech is responsible for moving each molecule of your body across space.

Hoshi obeyed his orders. He took a teleportation module and attached it to his armor. The charging began, and his forearm weapon was ready to fire even as he bundled the other four teleportation modules in his free arm.

"Ready as ever." He muttered.

Asi came back over to the group. "Message away." After strapping a teleportation pack on, he nodded to Haruhi, telling her he was ready.

"Shina-Hei to away team. Breaking off, use the teleportation pods and return to ship at your soonest." Kim cycled the breaching pod to release. Once clear of the ship she flew back to the Aeon.

-------------------------------------------------

From outside the room, the Away Team could hear movement, followed by a mini-missile that flew through the hole and hit the far wall.

Several more mini-missiles flew into the chamber sending debris and knocked over several of shelves on the far side of the room.

"Aeon, to Away team. You have five minutes to get back to the ship, or your walking home. We have large number of in bound enemy ships, move it people." came Katae's voice over the comm.

Asi's jump pack finished charging, and once he was sure he was ready to go, he teleported straight back on board the Aeon, with the assistance of his PA's computer. "Ise-Taii, where are we putting the teleportation units? I'm the first back."
