Checking over her controls again, Akane set the Troll into motion, making sure she didn't move too fast. Getting ambushed by enemies or the elements would not be a welcome event, so she hoped to drive at an even pace, if at all possible.

"Commencing patrol," the young Neko said, making sure her passengers were aware of what she was doing. She was grateful that Bors was nearby and understanding of her mindset, especially since they each preferred the other's duty. Still, it was a good way for Akane to learn and she would conduct herself with perfection.

"Well Koizumi, Going full fire at them are a good call. Though I think both of you two have missed our greatest advantage." She walked up to the drone projected Ripper. "We are smaller and faster. though we are out gunned and out armored. We can move around faster and maneuver far better, tipping the scales."

With a internal sigh she continued, as she thought about her first encounter with the monster. "I forgot this when I first ran into them. I though I was far superior then them in all areas and tried to go up against them head on. Don't believe me? ask the Taii he was there to pull my butt and the rest of the squad out of the death trap... Here on this planet."

She sent the drone back out to the range and had it go back to it's original programing.

"Now the best piece of advice I can give you two is be afraid of them. avoid fighting them at all cost. BUT, don't let that fear of them overwhelm you or you will die... I did. Though the first time I fought them, we did manage to take out a few of them before I was wounded to a point we had to withdraw."

Outward Patrolling: East

"Confirm orders, begining patrol at depth seven hundred." Kale stated as he began moving towards the south.

The weather was making him a little twitchy, fairly likely to jump at shadows. Well... if there were any shadows to jump at. Shrugging off the unease as unwaranted given the situation the minkan shoved it back in his minda nd continued moving keeping his eyes on his scanner readout. You could never be too careful, ne?

Having had time to adjust to the suit Kale found himself feeling as it were a second skin. The gel inner really was quite comfortable at body temperature. He shuddered to think what life must have been like in extreme conditions centuries ago when the technology had not been developed.

"This is Namach-hei, South East shows no activity, Continuing route."

Ether's Surface - Outside Shuttle

Mitsuko finally opened the rear door, wincing inside of her suit at the sight of the inhospitable surface waiting for her. After one last moment of hesitation, she stepped outside, passing through the air-containment force-field that kept snow from getting inside the Raccoon shuttle. She was dragging a large trunk behind her in each hand, leaving twin trails in the snow behind her. The Neko came to a stop on the wide, clear patch of snow near the shuttle. Apparently this is where they'd be sleeping tonight.

She opened communications to Misato after spotting her easily identifiable new Mindy. "There are three more 31B kits inside the shuttle, Misato-Heisho. I didn't want to remove them all, but we'll need to gather the tents and sleeping bags at least. Thankfully, we have just enough to go around. Also, I have laid out a set of cold weather gear for each crew member inside the ship." While it looked similar, the set meant for Mitsuko was just a bit different.

Chieko listened to Misato's lecture, nodding at salient points as she further managed to be calm enough for them to sink in. She was not known for her speed; however in a world of Minkan and Nekovalkyrja that did not mean much - the scientist just had to trust her equipment and body in those times.

"Well, I am glad I was half right," the young woman sighed, "however half right still means all dead. Though you said they could appear out of nowhere when we first discussed these things, Heisho. How can we possibly be quicker than they are?"

Bors sent an acknowledging message to Kale after he radioed in. Bors could feel the pressure of the wind hitting his face mask as he searched the area around the tank as it cruised over a snow bank with ease.

"Almost want some rippers to attack for some real live fire practice," He said to noone in particular as he slid down into the Troll and closed the top hatch sealing the cold atomosphere out side.

Taking off his helmet Bors set it down on his knee and wiped a bit of condensation off of his forehead with his thumb before taking a look over the tanks readouts.

"We are faster because of the Mindy's capablities, You can't realy on just the PA but it can boost your own abilities. Try it out. Once we switch off with the other team for patrols, see what all you can do with the suit."

Shaking her head Misato walked over to where Mitsuko was stocking up the kits. "Ok well again, drag the second kit back into the shuttle. then code the hatch to only open at Riko's, the Taii's, or my command. You all will not be needing any thing more then the one Survival kit. That's it The sleeping bags and extra tents in these environments might just get you dead quicker then just walking around all night, in just your uniform."

She stood there keeping an eye on the whole operation via her huds, hoping she wasn't missing anything. in a few minutes she would be switching the two teams out so that the other guys could get some range time, and well she knew Riko must be itching to shoot that big gun.

Ether's Surface - Outside Shuttle

Mitsuko seemed confused. "But, even with just two, we'll barely have enough to go around. The shuttle has a specific amount of emergency supplies for a reason." She was frowning inside her helmet. After her misadventures last time, cold weather survival had been one of the things she'd studied. A few books from their surprise cargo haul had been quite informative on that subject. While she'd familiarized herself with some of the more esoteric options, she couldn't understand deliberately rejecting the items they already had available.

After a few moments of fidgeting while she thought about her position, the Neko finally sighed to herself before opening communications again. "Right away, Misato-Heisho. I'll set the shuttle to lock down in that manner after we've made our final exit." Mitsuko easily hefted one of the trunks, lifting a few inches above the snow to float back the way she'd come. Of course, now the trunk was somewhat snowy and damp, not to mention her suit. The shuttle would be seeing plenty more of that when the others returned, though, so she didn't bother cleaning anything up once she'd returned the trunk to its original location.

Chieko nodded at the Heisho's words, then moved back to the target in front of her. This time, with the extra information from Misato, she was able to calm herself even more and focus much better. The scientist took aim at the target and with much more controlled breathing managed to hit a whole lot better.

Takeyu sighed as he leaned up against what remained of an old, tree, frozen in time and never going to have the opportunity to grow ever again. He wiped his faceplate and folded his arms over his chest as he glanced at the team, monitoring them and making certain they did everything by the books.

To the teams far north, although slightly closer to Bors team, was a growing storm of gray and black clouds. The storm was moving steadily in the direction of the team, and flashes of blue lightning could be seen from the cloud, but also was the fact that visibility in that direction was going down; along with the general temperature.

The drones that were out zipping about and marking the firing range and projecting the targets started to ping. Misato jumped a hair as she started going over the data being sent to her. The Weather was turning.

"Alpha squad start preparing a ice hole... Igloo or cave, We got a storm rolling in. Beta squad Tighten in, bring the roves in around 200 yards at max. Keep sensors up and keep moving. We will relive you in as soon as cover is made."

She glanced over at Takeyu who was just leaning up against the tree... clicking open an open channel she smarted off, "That meant you too Sir... Dig in" a faint giggle was heard as she cut the channel.

At the sound of the changes in orders, Chieko looked to see the alto stratus moving in and nodded that she ought to take action. The scientist took her scanner out again and began checking the snow pack for depth and density. She wanted to make sure that it was hard enough to stand up to what was coming, even if they needed to cut blocks out.

"We could also use some of that tree," the woman offered, "I'm checking to make sure this stuff is solid enough for a shelter."

"Recieved and understood. I'm getting a few glitches on my scanner. I think its just noise but ill run a diagnostic just in case." transmitted Kale.

The range map overlayed on his HUD was seemingly having trouble calculating distances to some of the objects in the region. It wasn't rally overly important on a training exercise where serious targets were not expected, but it galled him to know that his equipment wasn't functioning perfectly.

The minkan's gaze swept outwards, as he looked across the snow and into the distance. The landscape held a sort of serene beauty despite its desolate nature. With a small huff he put it out of his mind and began to close in towards his new patrol route.

Asami smiled at the new orders. The idea of making a snow shelter was both fun and exciting to her. Plus Asami never had the chance to make an igloo herself before. Turning briefly to Misato she replied.

"So Misato-Heisho, you bring us out here to play in the snow? This is quite a fun first excursion for me on Ether."

She turned back and started to help Chieko with looking over the snow. She turned to look at the Minkan as she squatted down and started to try and form the snow into blocks.

"Koizumi-Hei do you mind if I work with you? I must admit this is my first time making an igloo.

"Playing in the snow... Well i guess you can view it as such..." Misato responded as she started stomping out a spiral in the snow. She was going to compress the snow then cut blocks out of the stomped floor to create her igloo. Cutting them will be simple with her Ather blades set on low.

"Either way we need to hurry, the whole team is relying on us to supply protection from the storm." She spoke matter-the-factually, as she started cutting the blocks and stacking them along the perimeter of the depression she had made.

"Well I think I'll be sleeping in the tank tonight.." Bors said as he heard the weather update over the coms, "Not a huge fan of subzero temps."

His other concern was the weapons potentially freezing during the storm, the last thing they needed was there heavy artillery not working if anyone decided to show up. Thinking of so he realized something,

"Anyone hear anything from upstairs? Awfully quiet.."

"The more help the better," Chieko replied to Asami, "though I don't know if you will call it play once we're done."

The scientist smirked as she listened to Misato go on, attempting to help out where she could, since the Training NCO already had her own idea of what to do.

"Can you share your plan with me, Heisho?" she asked, "I'd hate to do anything counter productive."

"Riko, I haven't heard anything from them in quite a while, but then again I believe they are busy with their own training operation." Misato said as she continued cutting and then stacking blocks.

"Well I'm stomping the snow flat so that it solidifies then I'm cutting them to form ready made blocks for the walls, Once the wall slash roof is made I'll dig a tunnel back out of here to the outside. If you want you can help me, this thing needs to be fairly large for everyone." she said pointing at the twenty foot wide area she was working.

Ether's Surface - Inside Shuttle

Mitsuko waited patiently, while the others continued to prepare. She hadn't been assigned to either of the two squads, and was apparently simply along as the pilot. And to keep an eye on everyone involved, along with their supplies. She stood quietly inside the shuttle, in her Mindy, waiting for the others to finish their work and head in to change. She'd be freezing with them out there soon enough.

Chieko took the time to see the area that Misato had gotten going. Nodding, she got to ensuring pack before starting to cut. "I'm all over it, Heisho," the scientist replied.

Cutting with her hand, since she had little better to work with, the academic began making a grid pattern four inches wide one way, a foot and a half another way, and two feet down. Once that was completed, she began grabbing blocks and setting them up along the edges. With each placement, the Minkan smoothed the sides that would be butted against each other in an attempt to ensure a good seal.

Using small broken pieces to keep some blocks from falling was easy for the first round. However the higher things got, the more the blocks needed to be shaped in order to ensure the weight of each block was enough to impart mechanical pressure to counter gravity. The problem with that, was if an end block were left floating, it would fall allowing the rest in that layer to fall with it, thus requiring someone to hold the end block, while some one placed the next.

"I think I may need help with either placing or holding these up," Chieko remarked.
