Chieko took the time to see the area that Misato had gotten going. Nodding, she got to ensuring pack before starting to cut. "I'm all over it, Heisho," the scientist replied.
Cutting with her hand, since she had little better to work with, the academic began making a grid pattern four inches wide one way, a foot and a half another way, and two feet down. Once that was completed, she began grabbing blocks and setting them up along the edges. With each placement, the Minkan smoothed the sides that would be butted against each other in an attempt to ensure a good seal.
Using small broken pieces to keep some blocks from falling was easy for the first round. However the higher things got, the more the blocks needed to be shaped in order to ensure the weight of each block was enough to impart mechanical pressure to counter gravity. The problem with that, was if an end block were left floating, it would fall allowing the rest in that layer to fall with it, thus requiring someone to hold the end block, while some one placed the next.
"I think I may need help with either placing or holding these up," Chieko remarked.
