RP: 21st Fighter Sq [Mission 3.0] - Out of the Mist

Infirmary

"Hey you, soldier-boy what are you doing here? That tube is beyond repair, obviously one of the hostiles shot it up. Probably in an attempt to limit our ability to treat people.

If you need medical attention then get in the queue we have seriously injured personnel who are priority.

If not, I would suggest that you grab a medkit, and a grav-gurney and see about helping to triage and transport injured personnel here." the brown haired, green-eyed Yamataian said, as he pulled of the blood stained scrubs and tossed them in the disposal and put on a clean one.

------------------------------------------

Edge of Camp

Atsui considered Yaeko's report. "Okay, go back and get equipment for 6 people on the rescue team. We'll need better ranged weapons, rifles and shotguns will be better than NSP in that forest. Raid the survival kits for rope and anything else you think will be useful. A couple of scanners would be beneficial as well. Once you get the gear assembled signal and I'll have the team meet you there. Thank you."

"Yes ma'am." Yaeko bowed and jogged back over to where the equipment was stored. When she arrived she searched out the person that she had spoken to before. "Alright, I spoke to my superiors. We will need to outfit a search and rescue party of six member. Can I see your weapons inventory?"

"Yes you may," came the reply. Yaeko was led over to an area that contained all of the weapons and she started to look through them.

"I'd like six of the Westech Trench Shotguns over here, fully loaded with 2.75" shells since we hopefully won't be shooting anything big. Also, two boxes of ammo with each of the weapons. On top of that we need 2 Longbolts, three boxes of standard ammo, and one box of HE ammo, just in case. We need four STARs, fully loaded, and each with two extra boxes of ammo, making 12 boxes. I would like 12 Type 29 NSP magazines to replenish the units' stock." She looked around before continuing. "That should be it for weaponry. I will also need you to raid some supplies from your survival kits form me. I need several dozen yards of rope, some ration pills in case we're out there for a while, a couple multi tools, a flare gun, glow sticks, a medical kit, and a science scanner. I will notify my commander that the supplies are being gathered, inform me when you are finished."

With that, Yaeko walked just outside the CRDM. "Chui, supplies are being gathered as we speak. I have requested enough weapons for each party member to have one shotgun, one rifle, and a restock of NSP ammo. Also, I have requested for several survival items as well as one science scanner. They should be finished gather supplies by the time the squadron arrives."

“Sure!” Silic gulped, his octaves rising a few notches, “I, uh, live to serve...” his eyes shifting sideways quickly. He nervously reached towards the grav-gurney leaning against the wall in its cradle, hitting the switch on the handle to deactivate it and slinging it under one arm he looked around, quietly grateful that someone had removed the three bodies from earlier. “Uh...medkits?”

Atsui considered the list of equipment that Yaeko provided. "That sounds good, I will direct the squadron to report there for their equipment." she sent to Yaeko.

She took out her communicator and sent a message to all squadron members, "Report to the SSS supply CRDM, Munkata-Hei is gathering supplies for a search and rescue mission."

---------------------------------

The medic looked at Silic, "They are in the cabinet on the left, bottom shelf. Thank you for helping." he replied as he started working on his next patient.

“Oh. Right.” said Silic, turning towards where the medic was pointing. There was a loud bang as the grav-gurney smacked against the science examination table which had remained where it was. Silic sniffed loudly in disgust at his own act of stupidity and flicked the handle switch to reactivate the gurney, flipping it to hover in the empty space.

Going back to where the medkits were stashed Silic found a large bag with a medical sign on the side. He hauled it out from the bottom shelf with a grunt of effort, and nearly had to drag it over to the gurney. With heroic effort he hoisted the medkit on top of the floating stretcher, taking deep breaths as he recovered.

“What the hell is in this thing?” he asked aloud, shaking his head in disbelief, maybe the arm wound was getting to him.

His communicator beeped. Still leaning over the medkit he flicked it open and read Atsui's message, looking slightly confused. “Oh well,” he muttered “when in doubt...” he keyed in a reply.

Vas-Hei here, should I continue medical detail or report now?

Hitting send he crossed his arms on top of the kit and waited. “And I just got here.”

"Welcome to Daichi! Numa-Chui asked me to escort you to her. If you'll follow me?"

Lynn waited until she was sure they would follow her before heading back to the Chui.

Flight line

The individual stepped closer to Lynn. The black haired Nekovalkyjra was a person she had seen back on the Heitan; the carrier's Intelligence Officer Eika Konpeki-Ittô Heisho. She had a duffle bag slung over her shoulder.

"Hello again, Yagami-Hei nice to see you. There is a maintenance technician coming as well.

Is there a situation I should be aware of? The encampment seems rather busy for this hour?" Konpeki inquired.

A brown haired, blue eyed Neko came out, "Hello, Kiku-Nito Hei. Ready for duty."

---------------------------

Atsui looked at Silic's message and prepared a quick reply.
Vas-Hei, help transport the most seriously injured then report to the storage area. We will not be moving out until day light.
Numa-Chui.

"Ohayo, Ittô Heisho. We were attacked recently -- but I think Numa-Chui should be the one to give you the details."

She looked at the Nito Hei. "Ohayo To you as well, Kiku-Hei."

"May I lead the way, Ma'am?" She asked Eika.

She could feel her usual behavior coming back to her. Thoughts of the infuriating Nepleslian and the embarrassing events of the day slipped away before the thoughts of the Heitan and music.

Silic slapped his communicator shut with a sigh. Grabbing the handle of the grav-gurney he carted the medkit outside, and looked around for a second. He decided to head towards the area the cougar had chased him through, although considering Silic's own medical skills, anyone who hadn't already managed to crawl to the Infirmary would likely be unable to save.

- Shuttle -

You are hereby assigned to 21st Squadron 2X-F21, aboard the YSS Heitan NC-X2-001. You are authorized to travel to rendezvous with the squadron on Aqueous in the SX-06 system; by the next available scheduled transport.

Cool brown eyes scanned over the transfer order, long slender fingers held it a faint grip as it lazily flopped in front of the female Nekovalkyrjan. The shuttle had been fine but lacking in-flight entertainment, and luckily the other passengers hadn't seen fit to infuriatingly try and 'break the ice' as she'd ridden amongst them.

Touch down then a flurry of movement and chatter, the noise of it all barely registering to the relaxed feline figure, she waited until the others had disembarked before casually taking a bare looking duffelbag from the rack above and slinging it over a shoulder. Type 31 Uniform enthusiastically stretched over her agile frame though yet to have earned itself any stripes it did at least reveal she hadn't been slacking off in training. The dark haired figure eventually rose from her perch in the shuttle and stepped out onto the landing zone, keeping an arctic distance from the others as they chatted, she seemed entirely uninterested in them as her gaze was looking off into the distance but she stood ready to follow after the Neko who had come to greet the other passengers. Transfer papers still held by her waist.

When all of the supplies were brought Yaeko directed the workers to set them down in an area near the entrance. Once all of the supplies were in the space that she had designated she sorted out all of the supplies, separating different weapons, making sure the correct ammo was with the correct weapon, sorting out miscellaneous equipment, and things of that nature. Once that was taken care of she patiently waited for the rest of the group to arrive.

Flight Line

Konpeki looked around, "By all means please take us to Numa-Chui, the sooner I can start gathering data. The more benefit I may be." Konpeki said and gestured for Lynn to lead on.

----------------------------------------
Infirmary Area

Silic would find several individuals who were ambulatory. The next batch were deceased, two by having their throats slit. Finally he came upon a person who was lying near one of the CRDM's. The person waved their left arm in an attempt to attract his attention.

----------------------------------------
Battle Site

Leaving the scene of the conflict in the hands of the SSS Security, Atsui to a moment to get her bearings and set out to join Yaeko. The breeze that had dispersed the fog, was increasing in intensity.

Atsui diverted along the way briefly to look at the data in the meteorlogical shack. Just great, we have rain coming. That could work for us or against us. It depends on how heavy the rain is. she thought.

She made her way to Yaeko. "Munkata-Nitô Hei, if you haven't already done so. Grab enough ponchos for the team. We have a storm coming in." she said.

Silic was looking pretty bad himself at this point, beneath his glasses his eyes were haggard and his demeanour had slowly soured with each run. He saw the arm raise and pointed his flash light towards them through the slowly lifting mist, with darkness settling in Silic had been having difficulty making out anything. He been able patch up his arm, but his eyes were still only human, well, the equivalent of anyway.

He hurriedly dragged the gurney over, flashlight still pointed where he'd seen the arm. “Hello?” he hailed “Do you need help?”

The person turned out to be a blue eyed, blonde scientist. She tried to smile but her eyes still held fear.

"Yes, I need your help soldier. I was shot in the back, I can't feel anything beneath my waiste. I had to drag myself over her in the attempt to avoid being shot again." She said to Silic.

Yaeko nodded at Atsui before turning to the person who had brought over the supplies. "You heard the woman, ponchos, as many as you can, and anything else you think might be useful in the rain."

Silic pulled up beside the woman and gently lowered the gurney to the ground. “Don't worry love, I'm here now.” he weakly tried to comfort her, voice light. “How long have you been like this?” he asked as opening up the medkit and pulling out an adhesive vital monitor and its brother datapad. He stuck the monitor on her chest while he switched on the datapad, trying to check her vital strength.

Silic

The Medical scanner showed that the most severe injury the woman had was the damage to her spine, and the burn from weapon that she had been shot with. The actual spinal column was not injured, so he could safely get her on the grav-gurney and transport her.

Flight line
Lynn lead the group from the Flight line to where Atsui was making arrangements for the search team. When she approached the commander, "Numa Chui, here are the people from the shuttle. With permission I will join Munkata-Juni in preparation."

Konpeki had surveyed the area as they walked, her sharp eyes picking up details that she would study later. When she saw Atsui, "Numa-Chui, I see that I came at a disturbing time. My skills are at your disposal." she said with a bow.

Kiku bringing up the rear was pulling a cart with a box and her duffel bag behind her. She waited until the officer was through talking to the senior soldiers.

Atsui looked at Konpeki, "Eika-Heisho, glad to have you. We have some of the attackers equipment and a couple of prisoners. Perhaps you should interrogate them, and see what you can get from them. I would also value your analysis of their equipment." she said.

"Yagami-Hei, go ahead and grab your equipment."

The brown haired Neko stepped forward, and pushed the cart without her bags in front of her. "Kiku-Nito Hei report, these are with Odell-Taii's compliments. Some new equipment."

“Alright hun, I'm taking you straight to the pros.” he said, putting the datapad aside “You won't have an amateur like me trying to cut you open.” he winked, beneath his glasses, making it a pretty useless gesture. He reached back into the medkit “We're going to use the neck-brace just in case, then its the gurney.” he said as he pulled a speculum out of the medkit. He gave a muffled “Whoops!” and shoved it back in, this time pulling out the neck-brace.

He attached the device on her as gently as he could, “So what's your name, sweetheart?” he asked as he bent over her, trying to relax her.

ON.

The woman looked at Silic for a moment as he dug through the med kit, and his arm. "You aren't typical Star Army are you? Oh, and my name is Amanda Burke. What might your name be?"

"They call me Tin-man." said Silic, waggling his prosthetic fingers to demonstrate "But mostly I prefer Silic." he finished clipping and adjusting the neck-brace, double checking a few straps just to be sure.

"Considering the overwhelming Neko demograph, I suppose I am a minority." he finished with a shrug as he leaned back. "How's that feel? Not too tight?"

The woman checked the fit. "No, its fine. I was referring to the arm mostly. Yamataians don't have cybernetics... your a Nepleslian. That's cool, I bet you are loving serving in a military that is predominantly female. I'll bet you have plenty of ladies Silic."

Silic couldn't help but look at her for a second, before shaking his head to clear it, "Well, maybe if they weren't all half-feral or trying to kill me most of the time." he said quietly, rubbing his prothetic hand behind his neck. "Right, well. Lets get you to the medic." said, trying to change the subject as he gently tried to lift her up.

"Sorry, touchy subject eh. Well, I tell you what. Once I get back on my feet, I'll buy you a cup of coffee. I promise no attempted murder." Amanda replied.

Silic just chuckled, and gently set her down upon the gurney. "I'd like that, actually." he said, as he picked up the datapad and shoved it back in the kit before reactivating the gurney. "What do you do here, if I can ask?" he asked as he began pushing the gurney back towards the infirmary.

"Metallurgy, its one of my specialties, I examine any metallic objects the team finds, identify the type of material and the age. I also help maintain the expedition equipment."

"Oh. You think they've got anything that can spruce up this old thing?" he joked with a smile, waving with his mechanical arm. "So how long have you been here? I don't know when the camp was first established."

"Well, I can't say. Cybernetics is not my main area, but I can take a look and run some diagnostics if you like. We got here about three weeks before your unit. After the initial evaluation of the site, the Chuji wanted a full scale expedition established. We're actually just the first wave. Although I have concerns if they will continue the expedition after this."

"Well, we'll see. You'll probably find they were just after whatever they could grab, and run." Hopefully. He added in his mind. "I have a feeling security is definitely going to get beefed up at the very least." he said as the Infirmary emerged in front of them.

"I hope so. This site is looking very promising." She replied, recognizing one of the expedition people near the infirmary she called. "Kado-San, why don't you make yourself useful an take over for this soldier. I'm sure his skills are needed somewhere else."

The person she called came over, he took hold of the gurney from the other end. "Thanks Hei, I can handle it from here. Amanda's a friend of mine. See me later and I'll give you a bottle of whiskey I kept for a special occasion."

Silic laughed gently at that one, it was nice being appreciated sometimes. "Make sure you get well soon!" he farewelled Armanda, waving gently "I'm looking forward to that coffee!"

"Hey Silic, if your lucky I might even throw in a danish with it." Amanda said with a wave.

Silic could only smile as the two disappeared into the bustle that was the infirmary, for the first time in a while he felt exhausted contentment. The first hints of dawn were appearing on the horizon, and in the distance came the first occasional flashes of lightening, followed seconds later by dull thunder.

He sighed and remembered the order Atsui had sent him earlier. Inwardly groaning, he turned and walked, as slow as he could without malingering, towards Supply.

OFF

Having followed Lynn to the rendeszvous with the Chui, the long dark haired Nekovalkyrjan waited patiently until there was a chance to catch Atsui-chui free and then moved up toward her, duffelbag over her shoulder and transfer orders waiting lazily in clenched fingers. She took a deep smart bow to the Atsui-Chui.

"Sekimizu Ellisif Santô Hei, transferrred from Fort Shotou, reporting for duty Chui."

She finished the bow and stood firm, looking up at her superior officer wearing the sharp edge of professionalism on her features.
