Re: [Mission 3]

"Yes, don't hit the landing gear." Misaki smiled as she led Kim down to the shuttle, tugging the jacket tight around herself. She wasn't really cold, but it was a gesture she didn't want to ignore. When they arrived at the shuttle, she climbed inside after the hatch opened, and sat in the co-pilot chair.

"I'm ready when you are! We can go shopping up there probably for whatever we need." For the first time in a while, she was excited about leave, but also a sliver of trepidation. The XO was worried how she felt for the soldier she was waiting to start up the shuttle wouldn't stay quiet and she'd sound silly. They were Neko, and she didn't feel like being laughed off of the ship.

Re: [Mission 3]

"Aye, great." Kim said cheerfully as she entered the shuttle with a little leap as she turned to smile at Misaki, the redhead's face and mind completely void of concern or worry as she took a seat inside the vessel and waited.

Heh, just transferred to the ship, and I'm already given a day's worth of shore leave with a beautiful woman. I think I could get used to this... Kim thought at her lover as she softly grasped her hand and gave it a simple and loving squeeze.

Re: [Mission 3]

Nana's eyes turned toward Valen, making a note to hide her frown and straighten up. She was never very talented at masking her emotions, however, and the anguish was written all over her face.

"Just Nana. And, no. I'm not really in much of a mood for an outing..not with what's happened." Her gaze roamed towards the wall, then, eyeing the small nuances that marked hidden compartments and such, her mind wandering towards all the rewiring she'd done on the Asamoya.

"I'm sorry. I just don't know what I'm supposed to do with myself now. The order and structure I'm used to has.. cracked, and it's making me feel.. lost."

Re: [Mission 3]

Squeezing back gently, Misaki felt her spirit rise a little from the touch. When clearance was granted for the flightpath, the officer carefully detached the shuttle from the Eucharis and raced off into the rainy skies. "It won't take us very long to get there cruising like this. I wonder what the weather report says for Norfrost.."

Maybe you died in training and you're just having a really good spirit dream. Maybe I died too, in that case...are you sure you're not part of my dream? Misaki thought to the soldier warmly.

Re: [Mission 3]

Valen frowned as well. Something definitely was troubling Nana. "Well, Mis- ahem.. Nana, would you like to talk about it? I'm not planning on going anywhere for leave either, so my ear is open to whatever troubles you." He smiled reassuredly, hoping that she'd feel better after letting out whatever she's trying to keep inside.

Re: [Mission 3]

Yaichiro couldn't help but find the look that Hanako gave him to be somewhat amusing.

"Well, you can blame the Engineer in me for wanting to try out a different chassis.

If you girls don't want me around for some things, I can always visit KFY...I have a ship to submit to them. I could also visit the YSS Sakura Imperial Museum. Even though I designed the place, I've never actually been there yet."

Re: [Mission 3]

"Dunno. Hope it ain't a blizzard. I didn't pack for that!" The soldier grinned over at Lilly as the shuttle took off to soar through the skies of Yamatai towards Norfrost as she leaned back in her seat to relax while she gently placed a comforting hand on Misaki's thigh.

The dream is what we are witnessing now. You are my dream, I am your dream. Life itself is a dream. And like all who dream, we eventually wake up. Kim replied philosophically, though her mental voice carried fondness and affection for the officer as she smiled and leaned over to briefly kiss her cheek in an affectionate manner. For some reason, the redhead couldn't get enough of the blue-and-white haired officer.

Re: [Mission 3]

If I wake up, I hope you're in the tube next to me. Misaki thought back softly, if she was being philosophical back she wasn't saying. Making Kim wonder was more fun. "Check the weather reports for me?" She asked, happy to fly if the other woman didn't want to. A warm smile settled upon the officer's lips when the redhead kept her hand present, a continuous presence of intimacy, however small the gesture.

Taking a moment to lean over, she returned the kiss two for one on Kim's cheek and up against her ear before righting herself once more. "We'll have to find someplace to stick our bags before we go wandering. I hope there are Troll and other things for us to see, maybe a little snow."

Re: [Mission 3]

Gusty winds carried sheets of rain across the hood of the STV as Hanako drove it into the commercial area of the capital city. As always, traffic was a little thick, but there weren't many people on foot due to the weather. Hanako knew good places to go from her time residing in Kyoto and from various shore leaves from the Sakura. After a few minutes of driving in the rain, Hanako pulled the STV into a large parking garage connected to a shopping mall, and parked her STV next to a camouflage STV from the local base.

Midori was grateful for the garage, shaking out her hair a little to try and get the rain from it. As she disembarked from the vehicle, she waited for the others to see where they were headed.

Yaichiro hopped out of the back, thankful for the raincoat. Of course, the fact he had to sit in the back made him wonder where they were going to put their purchases on the trip back... "So...what's the first stop, Taisa?"

Hanako unbuckled her harness and slid on her bottom, feet-first over the edge of the giant truck, feeling around with her boots until she found footing on the step bar, and then gingerly lowered herself down to the concrete. "Perhaps we should get the lightest items first. Also, I have to pee."

Midori blinked a little at how open Hanako was. For some reason she didn't remember her being like that. Regardless Midori held her hand out a little, her fingers tentatively searching for Hanako's hand. It was as if she were afraid to take the hand yet was desperately seeking the comfort.

Yaichiro blinked at the very candid way of putting it, but nodded. "Understood..."

The captain have Midori's hand a warm squeeze with one hand and with the other, twirled out her communicator and flipped it open to eye her shopping list. "Tights, pantyhose and stockings, a dress, silk chemise, socks...we need a clothing store."

"I will follow you Hanako-sama." It had been a while since she had been in a clothing store, even since before her capture. She looked down at herself and suddenly didn't think she looked all that good.

"In that case, I'll just go in the mall and wait for you two to finish in that store..." Yaichiro said. After Hanako's comment of his being strange, he'd lost the nerve to buy things for a Kaserine-laden self.

Hanako nodded to Midori, then looked to Yaichiro again, thinking of his earlier comment about gender swapping. Did he secretly like to dress in women's clothing? "I am hesitant to leave you alone. I know you are responsible, but I am a little paranoid these days. There are angry people out there."

At the comment from Hanako, Midori's ears twitched a little as she looked to the smaller woman. "No one would hurt Yaichiro-sama, would they?"

"...Well, to be honest, I was shot in the chest the last time I was here....but I have a restraining order on the man, and those were bizarre circumstances..."

"Call me if you have any problems," Hanako ordered Yaichiro, while leading the two into the mall. From the entrance they could see a luxurious looking semi-formal women's clothing store called Pretty Nights.

Midori watched the store as they closed in on it, silently fretting over the fact that Yaichiro would be all alone in the mall, around people that might hurt him.

"Understood, Taisa. And you needn't worry too much." Yaichiro was, to be honest, worried about his safety as well. However, he had a weapon this time around, his 10 mm. He looked around for stores that might interest him. If he didn't find any, he'd stay in the food court, or try the arcade.

The store was a sophisticated type. After passing through a holographic curtain, Midori and Hanako were identified by scanners that would automatically charge items to their accounts as they carried them out of the store. It was completely automated, although there was a clerk girl handy in case they needed help. Hanako looked over at a rack of prom-style dresses. "Ooh."

Midori's ears seemed to lay back at both the scan and the dresses. Dresses were never really her style, though in truth the white haired Neko had never actually tried one on.

Hanako picked out a pretty red dress and held it out over her chest. "Mmm."

Midori tilted her head for a moment before she nodded. "It looked like it would look nice Hanako-sama." She looked the woman up and down, trying to imagine her in it.

"I will get it," Hanako smiled. "Now, for some tights and such...do you see anything you like?"

Midori peered around the store a little, searching in her visual range to see if there was anything she liked. The cheongsams looked rather nice, a few that she spotted. Midori gave a nod and pointed toward the outfits. "The cheongsams look nice..."

"Do you want to try one on?" Hanako asked.

Midori nodded once and smiled. "I saw a white one I liked." Midori was eyeing the white cheongsams with a red collar.

"Go for it," Hanako grinned, taking the red dress with her to the changing area, where they could both try on clothes.

Midori nodded a little and smiled, taking the cheongsams with her to the changing room. A little nervous, Midori entered the room and stared at the sash around her waist, a little more than nervous about undressing again.

The helpful captain undressed the samurai with a warm smile.

While she seemed scared of the contact in such a way, Midori kept herself quiet, her arms out to the side so the yukata could slide off easier. She was trying her hardest not to yelp or whimper. As the yukata finally came off, a pair of standard issue panties and bra were underneath. It seemed that Midori hadn't been wrapping her chest. Midori then quickly dressed again. On the front of the Yukata was a black dragon twisting around the sides of her cheongsam before opening it's maw directly out from the stomach.

"It looks good," Hanako said, sliding her uniform off to try on the red dress.

Midori looked away from Hanako for the moment and waited until she was done to turn around. With a smile Midori nodded. "It does indeed look good Hanako-sama."

Re: [Mission 3]

"My crewmates...well, my ex-crewmates.. they are all gone, except for Cherry. But, I.. I think I lost them all long before that." Nana admitted this quietly, reaching a hand up to rub at a temple as she stared downward towards the floor.

"...It seems that I have become nothing more than a.. repair drone.. I've been neglecting myself.. not sleeping, barely eating. All I have been doing, from the time I first boarded the Asamoya, until now.. is.. hiding behind the machines."

Slowly, she stepped back, leaning against the wall and folding her arms beneath her chest. Taking in a deep breath, Nana turned her eyes once more towards Valen, having little problem with telling all of this to a stranger -- after all, who else could she tell?

"I am good at what I do. ..but I don't like myself, and I don't wish to do it anymore. I've lost myself and the people that I care about."

Re: [Mission 3]

Aye, as do I, Misaki-chan. Kim replied fondly, feelings of warmth and affection once again lacing her mental message to her lover as she quickly did as told, finding that the weather repport told of sun and a slight but cold ammount of winds at their destination.

"Seems like the weather's good at least. And aye, I hope so too. Would be a bit of a buzz-kill to go all the way up here without seeing any sights. Not that you're not a wonderful sight to behold in your own right." Kim replied, again with her cheeky grin, but it was softer than normal as the shuttle sped towards Norfrost.

Re: [Mission 3]

Valen took several moments of just looking at Nana in deep thought after she was finished. This really wasn't his department.. but what else could he do? She is apparently in pain and might need someone to comfort her, he thought to himself before saying anything.

"Hm... I can understand your feelings, but... don't beat up yourself about things that are out of your control. Learn from your mistakes and better yourself. I'm glad you are able to share this pain with me. It's a good first step to heal that pain." Valen hoped that his little speech helped in some way. "What exactly don't you like about yourself, though?"

Re: [Mission 3]

"...I don't know. I.. I guess it's not so much me disliking myself, but what I've been reduced to.. I feel...empty." Rubbing gently at the bridge of her nose, Nana's eyes bore a hole in the ground, figuratively speaking, of course. Her face was burning, cheeks and ears a bright pink from embarrassment, maybe shame. She didn't cry, though her bottom lip did give the occasional twitch.

"I just.. feel like.. I have been.. abandoned. I can't function without direction, and...and.." A moment's pause, and then Nana would give something of a dry chuckle, "Sorry. Not really what you should expect from a soldier, I guess.. I'm just so frustrated."

Re: [Mission 3]

Yaichiro waited at the food court, a few shopping bags with him. He had purchased, among other things; a jumpsuit for the more dirty aspects of Engineering and technical work, a long yellow scarf, some sunglasses, a new tool set, and a pair of Samurai-style swords...he hoped that Midori would like one...maybe she could even each him how to use it, if she recovered enough...

Re: [Mission 3]

Valen moved a little closer and placed a hand on Nana's shoulder. "I'm sorry that you feel that way. Even though you are a soldier, you still have feelings. You have the right to let those feelings out whenever possible. Truthfully..."

He paused a bit, taking in a breath. "When I came over here to Yamatai... my parents... they disowned me. They called be a traitor and turned their backs on me. I suppose.. that I was abandoned as well..."

His own cheeks were a bit flushed as he said this. It definitely was easier to tell things to strangers.

Re: [Mission 3]

"Mnn..it looks like there's not much competition for a landing spot. Frozen Maiden control just put us all the way through. I've never been this far north." Miskai admitted as they finally moved in from the coast, and the icy landscape in spring sprawled out under them. It didn't look much different from winter, except of course they could see it.

That's true, but I'm not a Troll. I don't mind us needing to fly a bit to see one of those. With that, the officer began easing into their descent.

"Aye, guess it's a bit out of the way for commercial trade and tourism." The redhead agreed as she looked out on Norfrost and the city below them as Misaki slowly landed the shuttle, the younger soldier spotting several large patches of snow amongst brown and deadened grass as the shuttle landed.

"Well, it's got some tourism but no one's exactly clamouring for it." The woman smiled, "Anyway I got us a nice hotel, I think. We could leave our things in the shuttle and go shopping, then come back when it's time to go check in?" There was the light sound outside as the shuttle settled onto the ground.

"Sounds good to me. And the best thing about being north of the artic circle in spring and summer, or so I'm told, is that the sun never sets. They have sun at midnight, so their sunrise starts the second the sunset stops." Kim explained as she nodded towards Misaki and smiled, agreeing completely with her lover's idea as the shuttle door opened and the soldier stepped outside to wait for Misaki. It ain't really cold outside. The sun heats the air pretty amazingly well. But I'd bring the jacket, the wind is a bit nippy.

"All right, here we go." Misaki smiled, opening the hatch after tugging the coat around her a little tighter. The blast of wind caught her right in the face though, making her yelp in surprise. "Wow! That feels good." She finally called, and stepped onto the landing pad. Well, there should be that shopping center nearby, and I'm sure we'll find a Troll or two wandering somewhere who will indulge us.

"Aye, just smell that cold and fresh air... it beats Kyoto by a long shot." Kim replied cheerfully as she nodded and gently hooked her arm into Misaki's as the two Nekovalkyrja began to move through town, taking in the sights of a city that still seemed to just be on the verge of spring, unlike the south, where it was closer to summer than anything else. Did you need something special, Misaki-chan? And this is really different from Kyoto ain't it? The more inexperienced soldier asked curiously to her superior officer as they walked.

It really is...but I like it, we're doing something different, and exciting for our leave. I wouldn't have thought of it myself. I could use some clothes, and maybe something nice to put in ou-er, my quarters. She peered in a few windows, mostly shops peddling local flavour but didn't spy anything that made her want to stop the walk yet. "I think we're almost to the main part. Oh-I do want a new shampoo too."

Yeah. And what kind of clothes? I guess I could use some myself, only got two pairs of tank-tops, and two pairs of camo pants and a pair of boots, besides my uniforms. Kim replied as she joined Misaki in the window hunting as she still kept an eye open for any Trolls that might be wandering about, but given their size and appearance, they were likely to stick out of a crowd. Think you might help me with the clothes shopping? I'm terrible at stuff like that... think the Zaibatsu made me all soldier, no woman.

I don't know you tasted like one. Misaki smirked when they stopped to look at a shop. It was that moment she chose to send Kim a picture of herself from her point of view while they were..together in the shower. Just to see what she would do.

"I'll help, of course! There are probably a lot of great things to get, I mean there's a mall here it can't be too hard."

Blushing at the mental image Misaki planted in her head as they entered the shop, the soldier simply remained silent as her right ear twitched furiously and her cheeks reddened to such a degree it was starting to get hard to tell it from her hair. Aye, well, I still stink at clothing...

"Hnmn..there has to be more flattering tops than what you have here." Misaki noted as she began moving through the store, trying to spot something that would catch her eyes. We'll find something. The officer promised, smiling at the Yamataian who glanced in their direction while the two women browsed. The good thing was she looked like she was enlisted too, as long as she wore the jacket. Something about that fact was fun.

“Well, if it is, it beats me!" Kim replied as she lazily browsed the various pieces of clothing as she moved around, giving a brief smile to the Yamataian as she looked through the clothes, feeling decidedly out of place. Sure, sure... Just don't get your hopes up.

"What about this?" Misaki held up a black blousonesque top, with straps that came together and tied behind the neck. Since she knew Kim only had tanktops otherwise, she thought it might be the safest choice to suggest right away. The officer turned it around, "And most of your back would be exposed too."

A sudden rush of happiness worked through Misaki while she looked to the redhead, hoping for a good answer. Being out with her alone, and away from their other life felt good however fleeting they both understood the respite would be.

"Hmm... looks good, aye." Kim smiled happily over to Misaki as she eyed the new top curiously as she stepped over to the officer to touch the material to get a feel for it as she nodded approvingly. "Feels nice too."

Re: [Mission 3]

After spending a little while longer getting clothes, Hanako and Midori emerged from the clothing store with their clothing bags covered in big clear trash bags for protection. Using her communicator, Hanako gave Yaichiro a call.

"Yaichiro, we are done with clothes shopping," Hanako told the engineer.

Re: [Mission 3]

Nana's eyes lifted, brow creasing gently. She felt ... bad. At this point, she wasn't sure whether it was guilt, sympathy, or what. Regardless, she'd slide her own hand up to rest on Valen's, giving a soft squeeze.

"I'm sorry that I cannot relate -- I have no real family. I thought that my.. ex-crewmates were like a family, but..what kind of family just....ups and leaves..?" There was a hint of bitterness dripping off of her words, and she'd quickly straighten up, expression going stoic, eyes fixed to the floor.

"...Sorry.. I'm just angry lately.. Thank you for listening, though, Sasorix-hei. .." Nana winced -- she wasn't really used to, or into referring to people so formally, "Um. I'm afraid I was not given your first name..?"

Re: [Mission 3]

"Understood, Taisa. I"ll come meet you. I'm in the food court, and won't be long. Where are you headed next?" Yaichiro asked, picking up his purchases and moving along in their direction.

Re: [Mission 3]

"Is there anything else you want while we are here?" Hanako asked Midori. If not, Hanako was going to take a quick bathroom break before picking up her chrome egg and fur blanket, and then meeting with Toshiro to head back to the ship for the night.
