RP: 21st Fighter Sq [Mission 6.0] Mists and Mysteries

Time Skip
Location: 2 km from Tachibana encampment.

The weather had improved as the Diamonds flew thru the mountains to their objective. The rain had stopped and the clouds were breaking up.

As they passed the 2 km point, a compressed coded transmission was received.

Yaeko motioned for the squadron to stop as she got the encrypted message. Landing on the ground, she took a knee and began to read the message. Stopping to check her distance, she noticed that she was right around the 2km point, so it was about time for the squadron to split up anyways. She prepared a LASER Communication, which her AIES sent out the the rest of the squadron.

She then motioned for them to begin moving and lifted herself off the ground before shooting off towards the encampment, making sure to go a considerably lower speed than before.

Plague? Here? Crud... Thought Elisto worriedly as he kept pace with Yaeko, then slowed down when she did. Trying to ensure we don't hit those containers isn't going to be easy once the fur starts flying...

Silic landed on his feet, skidded on his heels and tumbled forward, coming to rest on his belly with his faceplate leaving a small trench in soft dirt. He picked himself up and started quietly covering the track using his heel before joining to the others.

As Yaeko sent her message through text Silic tilted towards Anne and spoke in one of those loud voices trying hard to be quiet and failing through his helmet. "Why are we whispering? They're ages away."

Excepting his use of time as a measurement of distance, there was very little chance of anyone who had missed their landing would pick up on voices.

Errowyn just knew there was a leak or improper joining of her Daisy Armor suit. And to make matters worse, now a bio-weapon was thrown into the mix that could kill everything once it got going. "that's why I am a pilot!" Muttered softly. Even though she was getting the hang of operating her Daisy. "In space you dont have to worry about this crapola." Still muttering to herself, as the group moved out again.

She ran a check on the integrity of the suit. Everything shown up green. She smiled and mentally thanked her wingman for his assistance.

Kenshin was following a few steps behind Yaeko when news of the plague capsules reached the squadron. Abruptly, the young pilot swore darkly -- muttering several lengthy curses.

Great... This is just great -- at least this planet isn't heavily populated and is without any major starports, so that reduces the risk of the bio-weapon being spread... and If worse comes to worse, the Star Army could probably scorch the planet from orbit to wipe out the pathogen. Though in that situation, we would be dead. The young pilot sighed morbidly.

Using laser communications to maintain their stealth, Kenshin responded to Yaeko's instructions. "If one of those capsules is breached we may need to re-prioritize our objectives; we can't let those ships take-off -- no matter the circumstances. If they get even a single capsule off-planet or become infected and unwittingly carry the disease to another more densely populated world, it could spread very quickly and potentially kill billions. The demo team may want to prioritize sabotaging the engines of the ships so that no matter what, they stay grounded and can't carry the bio-weapon anywhere else."

Thirty-one hostile soldiers? That seemed like a lot to Anne. Especially since they could also be equipped in PA. They could have old Demon or even Origin Impulse armours. And there was thirty of them against the small number of Diamonds. Anne once again shivered with fear and wondered who got this stupid idea. Infantry should be handling these, especially with dangerous virus in play now. She took a deep breathe and moved forward to her designed position, trying to keep low. She just hoped that Cutter was a good shot, since she did not fire a gun since she left basic.

Silic frowned at being ignored and looked out towards the base, which was out of view still but he looked in its general direction. "I hope Amanda isn't on site today." he thought to himself before following Yaeko.

Errowyn just kept her comments to herself and hoped for the best. She just followed numbly along with her assigned group, going over her weapons and gear for the mission for the umpteenth time.

Almost.. thought Elisto as he kept behind Yaeko, but kept an eye on where they were going and saw that they were getting close. Hopefully we are in and out, without anyone putting a hole through those containers. Gotta make user to disable those ships without destroying them...

Glancing behind him toward the rest of the team, Elisto pondered whether the Tachbina's had yet noticed them or if they were even remotely aware of anything coming thier way.

A couple hundred meters from the compound Yaeko saw a large mound of rocks and motioned for Assault Team to take cover behind them. A LASER Communication came through the Team's AIES from Yaeko.

Errowyn grimaced, as a stray thought shot through her mind, ~~should've had air support to intercept in space for destruction or to do ariel intercept. but the way I flubbed up the bombing run, I'll probaly be busted down to Range clean-up crew, indefinitely!~~

She gave a soft "meow" back for message recieved.

Encrypted message...
Decryption complete....
Diamonds,

Have relayed a message to the roost. Geeks are taking cover in their ship for safety.

Spotted one of the primary targets. Going to see if I can tag her.

End of Message

Disable the ships. Don't let them lift off. Disable the ships. Don't let them lift off.

Lynn repeated this mantra in her head, and readied her systems for the assault. She'd grab the closes ship, and try to take out its engines first -- an Aether Beam-Saber in the right place could stop it from lifting off any time soon.

Anne moved with the rest of the support team. Her partner Cutter was the man with highest rank, but it did not seem like he wanted to use it. He was pretty quiet all this time. Group went along the ridge and Anne could already see several ships in distance.

Anne went through basic training so like every other member of Star Army she knew how to use Power Armour, but that did not mean she knew very well how to be stealthy. Se tried to keep low profile as she moved with rest of group. When they got south of the ships, she lay down and checked what was in front of her.

From her position on the ridge she saw pretty well what was in the camp. She also knew that if she can see it this well, so can Hunter and her group. She put her rifle on the nearby stone to get more stability. She was more used to pistols after all. Anne then found a target a let her Aies help with targeting and relay her information to the rest of the support team. It would not be good if they all were shooting at one target. She then waited for Cutter to give them go and fired.

The rest of Support Team followed Anne, Cutter having figured he'd let the medic pick out the spot. Once they were situated and in position he gave the team a thumbs up and they all began firing.

----------------------------

"Shots fired!" Yaeko called out when she heard the first rifle fire. "Assault through, move!" She began moving forward at the fastest speed she deemed safe, rifle shouldered and her AIES picking out target. As she moved, she fired at whatever targets walked in her range, and then she slowed when she approached within 100 or so meters of the encampment.

"I need two people covering Demo while they set explosives." Yaeko called out.

Errowyn mind went numb as the words came over her coms "Assualt through! Move!"

She froze, her mind mentally wailed, ~~ "I'm a combat pilot! Not a grounder!"~~ Eyes darting back and forth, watching the rest of the group move out into the maelstrom of the supporting group's weapons fire into the enemy camp.

Elisto gave a nod and made for the ships that needed to be disabled, he moved down the hill, figuring his partner was behind him. When he got to the first ship he crouched down and looked around for any hostiles, then pulled a single explosive from his pack and started to set it.

"Hoshi," he pointed at the Henkei. "Plant an explosive near the engine compartments, one should be enough for each engine, anything more could destroy the ship, review the plans for the ship so that you attach it to the right area," as he was saying this, he was doing his own review of the Vampires plans to ensure 'he' was setting his explosive in the right place as well.

Kayo and Akemi were positioned so as to provide cover fire for anyone who needed it. Akemi saw an armed person come out of the Vampire. She paused to see if the person was a priority target. After confirming that he was not, she fired a shot from her rifle. Taking out his weapon arm. He fell down the ramp from the ship and landed face down.

"Hai," Lynn said. That was what she had planned to do anyway, but it was still good advice.

She was in a split-second after Elisto, jumping onto the Henkei. She double-checked the plans, readied the explosives, and prepared to spring away once she was done.

Lynn felt so slow, outside of a fighter. She was anxious to get moving again. In a fighter, if you stayed too long in the same spot...
