RP: YSS Aeon [Mission 9.0] Trouble in Deep Waters

There was much creaking and groaning as Sheela worked on the hatch. Finally there was a snapping sound and the hatch swung open freely. From inside the pod a male voice called out. "I am Jacob Myers, purser for the TSC Lunar Moth. I have seven others with me, five are passengers and the other is a one of our medics. One of the passengers is pregnant. We also have the corpse of one of the creatures that attacked us."

The Infantry and Bjorn with the Shuttle sped away from the Aeon to the site of the large piece of wreckage. The vigilant slowed down as it approached the site, there was a sizable piece of a ship tumbling with an assortment of debris floating around it. The fragment was not from the TSC vessel that went missing. "Vigilant to Aeon, have arrived at the wreckage. Looks like the civilian ship got a piece of whoever it was that attacked them. Too much interference to determine if there are life signs. We are moving in closer. Will approach to 1000 meters and let the Infantry proceed."

The hatch flew open

>Clang!< Clank!< >Thud!<

The jacks fell to the floor along with the block she was using to the floor. Sheela did the jig to avoid the falling Jacks and block of material. She glanced at Misaka and the others that was with her. She moved off to the side out of the line of fire to the now open Hatch.

"Squeaaa! Send the ladies out first, then the wounded and whot ever yooz have in there with yooz." Sheela scampered quickly to move the jacks out of the way of those disembarking, and kicking the block off to the side.

Cargo Bay
"Wounded first." Misaki corrected before she eased some, "Leave the creature inside please." She called out, still waiting for everyone to get out of the pod before feeling comfortable with them.

"See if you can assist them once we've cleared them of threats." She told Kata'nova.

"Sickbay and bridge, cargo bay. This is Kurusu. We have eight here, one pregnant. In addition there is the body of what they say is one of the creatures that attacked them. I am requesting the doctor come in quarantine gear to lock down the sample and ensure whatever it is cannot transmit anything that can leave the cargo bay, as well as to check everyone here. Requesting lockdown until we can get an all clear on it."

She knew what could happen if she let an unknown biological life form out of the cargo bay, and it was standard to keep anything new from getting on board if possible, there was always a chance the normal things a typical MEGAMI would scan for could miss it, and she had too many horrible memories from the wars she fought in about Trojan horses to not be so careful.

She placed her hand on the back of her sidearm in the holster and waited for the survivors to come out.

There was movement in the pod and then two females emerged. The first was a long haired red headed Nepleslian, and was very obviously pregnant. Her right arm was in a sling, and wrapped in bandages. The second female had short black hair, her left leg was in a inflatable leg cast. She was also sporting a bandage above her left eye. After a moment two more of the occupants emerged. One was a male Tula, with gray fur and white stripes. He had burns on his left side, and holding his hand was a smaller Tula.

After the Tula's came out a person wearing a TSC uniform and carrying a medical kit came out. "I am Jason D'gar. These are our injured. I've done what I could with only medical kits."

A male stepped out of the pod and looked around. "Well, it certainly feels good to be able to actually stretch my legs. I am Hiro Tamahagane."

The last person to exit was a Jacob, he was wearing a blood soaked TSC uniform. Although from the appearance the blood was not his. "Jacob Myers, thank you for rescuing us." He said and bowed towards Misaki. "The body is in the pod under a blanket."

Sheela secured the two hydraulic jacks and the block of material as she kept an eye out for trouble. Her eyes widen at seeing the two felines leaving the ship. This ought to make interesting travel companions. Canine species, A Mousian and now there were two Felines species. She gave a soft squeak/giggle next to her Tool Cart. Yet she was ready for anything hostile.

A couple thousand meters away from the Aeon, a small transport shuttle was approaching the Yamataian starship, with a single, lone passenger: a Santo Hei NH-33 Nekovalkyrja by the name of Ziara Wyld. She had just been apointed the Aeon's newest Technician and was on her way to meet with the ship's captain, in response to the orders sent to her datapad, which she currently had in her hands, playing a game on it.

It was then that the pilot of the shuttel announced to Ziara that they were nearing the ship an she shuld prepare herself for docking. Standing up, she attached her datapad to the belt around her skirt. Grabbing her bag of equipment and clothes, she made her way to the shuttle's door, grabbing onto a handle bar attached to the roof for safety as the shuttle came into docking.

The distinct hiss of the docking system came into the hol of the shuttle as the final docking prcedures completed, ehich meant the shuttle was now fully docked with the YSS Aeon.

The main door then opened, allowing Ziara to step out with her equipment. Once out, she looked around for signs that could lead her to teh bridge to see the captain, or soemone that could show her the way there.

Standing about two meters from the hatch was a brown hair man wearing an SSS Uniform. "Welcome aboard the Aeon, I am Josea Gustav-Ittô Juni. I am the Scientific Studies Service Liaison member of the crew." He smiled and offered his hand to Ziara. "You would be Ziara Wyld-Santo Hei. Much of the crew is currently occupied by our mission. Kindly follow me and I will take you to the bridge. You can deposit your bags in the crew lounge until Eternity assigns you a cabin."

Jacob straightened up. "It was a bit of luck that our pod was damaged just as we launched. With the beacon damaged and the plasma drives offline. We were just a bit of flotsam to the bastards. We could see them pursuing and catching any of the pods that were active. It wasn't until a while after they left that we got them working. We didn't turn the beacon on for at least six hours to make sure they were gone. Don't know who they were, the creature on board was one of their soldiers, but they got the jump on us when we dropped out of hyper to prepare for our next jump. They struck the Lunar Moth with some sort of pods designed to pierce the hull and then let them board."

Ziara shook Josea's hand. "Yes, that is me." She confirmed, adjusting the hold-all strap's position on her shoulder. "Please lead the way." Ziara said Josea as she prepared to depart to the bridge. She adjusted the belt around her skirt, on which her datapad was clipped, along with the base of her Type-35 Duty Uniform, making sure it was as crisp as could be when she met the captain.

Josea started down the corridor and paused briefly. "Make sure when you meet the Taisa, that you report properly. Nothing like starting your tour of duty on the ship with a faux pah. As a matter of preference, she prefers the bow to a salute. But she will not hold it against you. After all saluting regardless of how Nepleslian if seems, is now authorized. " He made his way to one of the vertical hallways and started ascending. "I've been aboard the Aeon now for seven years. I'm one of the most senior SSS Liaisons in the Organization." he added as he drifted upward.

Once he reached the second deck he moved out into the hallway and waited for Ziara.

Ziara nodded in ackowledgement and followed Josea to one if the vertical hallways and ascended up after him, also stopping at the second deck. The sensation was quite unusual to Ziara and just one of the many things that she would be required to fix, when it broke.

Once she had stepped of the platform and into the second deck hallway, she addressed her escort. "I assume this is the way to the bridge, yes?" Ziara enquired to Josea.

Josea smiled, "Well, it would be silly to take you the wrong way. The bridge is forward of the lounge. Hence why I suggested you leave your bags here." He gestured to one of the couches. "This way to the bridge. " He walked forward until he reached the door to the bridge. "Eternity, Santo Hei Wyld is here to report to the Taisa. Please grant her access."

From the hallway speakers, Eternity's contralto voice replied. "Santo Hei Wyld may enter when ready."

Ziara dropped her bags onto one of the sofas and straightened out her Type 35 Duty Uniform, trying to remove the worst of the creases. "Well," She said to Josea as she readied herself to enter the bridge. "I guess... wish me luck?". She placed her hand on the button to enter and the door slid open. Ziara stepped through and the door closed behind her. "Ziara Wyld Santo Hei reporting as ordered." She said with a sharp bow towards the Taisa, standing to attention and looking straight ahead after the bow.

Josea gave Ziara a pat on the shoulder, "You won't need it." He said as she stepped aside and watched her enter.

Katae's almond shaped green eyes followed Ziara as she came to stand in front of the command console. When Ziara bowed, she returned it with a much lesser one given her status. "Stand at ease Hei." she turned her attention briefly to monitor the latest from her XO.

"Welcome aboard the Aeon. Eternity, our MEGAMI will provide you with the accesses needed for your duties. I have a simple rule aboard the Aeon. Give the ship and your crew your best effort." She paused to take a sip of her coffee and grimaced at its tepid temp. 'Eternity, kindly ask Sachi to bring me a fresh cup.' she sent telepathically to the MEGAMI.

"Your arrival is in the middle of a search and recovery operation. We are exploring the disappearance of several ships in this region. We discovered an escape pod, and are recovering it. Eternity has assigned you a bunk in Cabin 9. Stow your gear there and report to our XO in the Cargo hold. You are dismissed unless you have any questions."

Ziara bowed to the Taisa, once again. "I have no questions." She said and stood back up straight. Done with the formalities, Ziara exited the bridge and entered the lounge area once more, collecting her hold-all and heading over to Cabin 9, where she would find a free bunk and claim it by placing her bag on it for the time being. She'd sort that out later.

Exiting Cabin 9, she made her way over to the crago hold where she was to meet with the ship's XO.

Space - 500m away from the YSS Aeon

The tapered silhouette of a Kuma T8 shuttle danced quietly in the immediate proximity of the YSS Aeon. Inside, the pilot announced the imminent docking - more praxis than anything, as the only passenger was very much aware of the fact.
Heihachiro Tsuruko let her mind wander to the soothing drawl of the customary safety procedures. The Santô Hei glanced downwards, ensuring the immaculate condition of her Type 32 coat by running one hand over the synthetic material.

A few more manoeuvres, and the distance between the Kuma and the YSS Aeon was no more. After a few more seconds of silence, the familiar clatter of the docking clamps washed over the hold. Yet more quiet was quickly followed by the familiar, incorporeal voice of the PA system and an annoying green light blinking insistently above the external airlock. Tsuruko caught the cue a moment too late. She stood up and retrieved her RIKUPAT duffel and backpack as the internal-facing airlock hissed open.

Her belongings collected, Tsuruko hurried out of the Kuma, keeping her eyes open for anything - or anyone - present to welcome her.

When Tsuruko stepped into the passageway a light blue haired Neko was standing in the passage. "Welcome aboard the Aeon. If you follow me, I will take you to meet the Taisa. I am Shina Kim-Ittô Heisho, the cook for the Aeon. So you will see me quite often. We'll be passing through the ship's lounge. You can leave your bags there. Once you report to the Taisa, Eternity our MEGAMI will assign you a cabin. Things are a bit busy. We are doing search and rescue. According to Eternity, we've brought a Ge-X3300 Escape Pod on board." She motioned down the hallway. "Which reminds me after I get you to the bridge, I should see about bringing some food to the cargo hold for those people."

Jacob looked at the Aeon crew then turned his gaze back to the XO, "So do you folks have any idea what's going on? Who it was that attacked us? I lost a number of friends during the attach. So I hope that someone can give us some answers."

Tsuruko offered the Ittô Heisho a quick, practiced bow and a deathly silence upon spotting her. The blonde-haired Neko listened to the explanation intently, blue eyes narrowed slightly but otherwise unmoving.
"So ka, Ittô Heisho," she conceded once the explanation ended, "thank you for the welcome."

And with that, they were off.
The walk-- or march, as any outside observer would have been inclined to put it, was for the most part entirely silent, save for the rhythmic thump, thump, thump of Tsuruko's boots. The aforementioned, Shina most likely found out, tended to walk at a frankly ridiculous pace. The Santô Hei's movements were deliberate, carefully planned, VERY long-reaching and, most of all, entirely decisive. Anything or anyone in the way was in for a surprise.

Tsuruko's belongings found a temporary, if somewhat sudden, respite in the first free corner of the lounge the Santô Hei spotted.
She barely slowed down as her bags gracefully arched through the air.

Shina suppressed the urge to chuckle as she listened to Tsuruko's heavy steps. 'What does she have in her boots, durandium plates?' She wondered.

As she approached the bridge, she paused to speak to the MEGAMI, "Eternity, Shina Kim-Ittô Heisho escorting Heihachiro-Hei."

"One moment. The Taisa wants you to come in first, I will then inform the Hei when she may enter." Eternity replied.

Shina turned to Tsuruko, "Well, I'll see you inside. Make sure you report properly. Good luck."
With that Shina pressed the door control and stepped into the bridge, With practiced grace she navigated to where Katae was seated without interfering with any of the other bridge personnel. She replaced the cup of coffee in the Taisa's holder with a fresh one. She then waited for her to take a sip.

Meanwhile in the hallway, Eternity spoke, "Heihachiro-Santô Hei, you may enter the bridge now."

If only Shina had asked, Tsuruko would have made it pretty clear that the only thing lining her boots was pure, unadulterated Yamataian grit, and maybe the unflinching nerves typical of a Budoka [1].

Hai, Ittô Heisho.
Hands joined behind her back, the blonde-haired Neko stood in front of the Bridge’s entrance for however long it took, entirely unmoving save for a terribly slow, controlled rise and fall of her chest. When the call came, she had to fight the instinctual urge to breach and clear.
Koketsu ni irazunba koji o ezu, [2]" the Santô Hei reminded herself under her breath. Perhaps slightly moot, given she was foreseeing no casualties, but an efficient reality check regardless.
Plus, you never know, when meeting your superior officer.

The press of a button later, Tsuruko stepped into the Bridge, face twisted into a dead-serious scowl. In other words, her natural, relaxed expression.
She used the few steps between the door and the Command station to adjust the collar of her coat, perhaps the only part of it that was not immaculate.
The muffled thwump of the heel of her boot impacting the carpet preannounced a deep, prolonged bow.
"Santô Hei Heihachiro Tsuruko reporting," she began, eyes fixated upon the Taisa, "as ordered."

[1] - Martial Artist.
[2] - “If you do not enter the tiger's cave, you will not catch its cub.”

Katae watched Tsuruko with an impassive expression. She waited a moment to see if Tsuruko would either bow or salute. But it became clear that she was going to do neither. Her green eyes fixed upon the newest member of her crew. She stood up and spoke. "Stand at ease Santô Hei."

Katae walked around her console and stood in front of her newest crew member. "We are in the middle of an Search and Rescue operation. As well as exploring some wreckage in the area. Stow your gear in Cabin Nine which you will share with Ziara Wyld. Then report to the XO in the cargo hold. Dismissed."
