Sune considered the information they had received regarding the diplomatic ensemble.

Our party contains 3 individuals.
There are two Neplesians and one Freespacer.
We require an oxygen rich environment with minimal to no germs, bacteria, or viruses.

Also if it is possible for a particularly strong stool to be substituted for one of the chairs in your negotiation location for use by the Freespacer on our team it would probably make things easier.

"Only three people Taisa, two Nepleslians, and a Freespacer. They request a heavy duty stool for the Freespacer, and as sterile environment as possible. The environmental system should be adequate, but I will send the commands to increase the level of scrubbing for the wardroom." he said after reading it.

Junko’s thoughts had wondered for a moment and her eyes widened briefly as she refocused on the conversation. “Sorry. Yes, that’s fine with me. Shall we get moving then?” she said, pulling up a station schematic on her communicator. All this talk of alcohol and drinking put her a little out of her comfort zone. She had consumed alcohol before, often unwittingly, but she had never been drunk or even truly intoxicated. The Shosa’s comment didn’t exactly commend the concept to her, but the thought of food was presently far more powerful than any curiosity about drinking. Finding the location of the restaurant on her communicator and keying it in as a destination, she took a look at the suggested course and turned in that direction, glancing back at the other engineers. “It’s this way, I think.”

"Thank you," Hanako told Sune. "You are already being a fine warrant officer," she grinned.

The Nepleslian shuttle was directed into the bay and after it landed Hanako approached the craft and waited for the hatch to open.

As she waited she took a moment to check up on the crew using the computer systems. "Jealous of you. Enjoy the food!" she texted the soldiers on the way to Sam's.

In the main bay, Eucharis was shedding her damaged armor plating and a crew was working on replacing the damaged STL engine assembly. A second team was stripping out the damaged materials from the Eucharis' wardroom and lounge.

Sune paused briefly before replying with a simple, "Thank you, Taisa." He then proceeded to send the necessary commands to the crew of the Ikoi with regards to preparing the wardroom for the meeting, while walking precisely on her left side.

As he walked with Hanako, he casually adjusted the position of the saya for his Katana, and straightened his uniform when they stopped.

As the shuttle was directed into the bay, the screens lining its inside would display images of the ship’s surroundings, moving from object to object as the ship settled into place until finally focusing in on the form of a young woman who was approaching them.

Wazu would unbuckle his seat’s harness, setting down his datapad on the chair as he hoisted himself up using a black cane. He quickly buttoned his jacket and made his way to the ship’s hatch, picking up another datapad from Drei as she left the cockpit just for a moment to hand over the piece of hardware. He would use it send a quick text message to Orion that they had arrived.

With that both the side doors to the shuttle would slide open, allowing Wazu to walk out onto the wing of the craft,

“Hanako I presume?”

"Yes, I am Hanako," the golden-eyed Taisa replied, "and you are Heram James Wazu...formerly one of Yamatai's most wanted," Hanako pointed out. "I see you have found your way to the top of Nepleslia since we last met. I believe it was back on the YSS Yui? It has been a long time and time has helped healed the wounds of the Qel'noran rebellion. This is my science officer, Jalen Sune." Hanako gestured toward the handsome man at her side.

“Formerly…,” Wazu said, already feeling a twinge of regret for following through on this particular plan. He would pause for a moment before continuing.

“Old wounds are best left for bar talk.” Wazu would then look over to Sune for a moment before continuing.

“Right now I would like to focus on the business at hand. We want to explore setting up an intelligence and force sharing network between SMoDIN and the S-A-oh-Y.

With me is Orchid Anson, civilian contractor specializing in ship design and Bodytailor Orion, our Free State liaison.”

Orchid stepped out of the shuttle and saw Wazu speaking to an unusual looking, unfamiliar girl. Having overheard their exchange, she gathered that this was Hanako. She felt a sense of relief at the sight of the somewhat innocuous appearing pair that had come out to meet them.

“Hello, I am Orchid Anson. It is a pleasure to meet you both,” she said with a genuine smile.

Sune gave a slight bow, "Greetings Heram James Wazu. We have made arrangements for a more suitable location than the landing bay for the negotiations." Intelligence sharing? Interesting. he thought.

Seeing that Wazu was eager to get started, Hanako led the way to the Ikoi-class starbase's wardroom. The spacious dining and recreation area had white, blue, and black inlaid marble floors and finely-crafted shining wood paneling on all the walls. Above them hung gold and crystal chandeliers and a painted ceiling depicting sailing ships and tropical islands on Hanako's World. Photographs and paintings of the Eucharis and other 2nd Squadron gunships and their commanders were spaced around the room and on each table there was a small chrome gold model of a Plumeria gunboat.

Hanako took a seat in one of the leather booths. At the end of the booth table there was a sturdy-looking Durandium stool that looked like it was modified out of a barber's chair base.

Sune turned smartly but hung back to allow their guests to go first. "After you," he said motioning for Wazu to follow Hanako. Meanwhile Sune sent a instructions for the shuttle to be kept under surveillance, just as a precaution.

Yaichiro pondered the last mission the Eucharis had. The idea that an intelligence leak could exist in the 1st XF unnerved him greatly, especially if Nishitama City were a potential source. He'd already sent an order out to BAD Office, but wasn't sure if that alone would be enough...

He arrived at the place with the others, after having followed Junko. He promptly placed his order and waited for the popcorn shrimp and salmon to arrive...

Something was wrong. If someone high enough in the SAoY were sabotaging top secret 1st XF missions like this, then even SAINT might not be transparent enough to find the source. It was for something internal like this that BAD Office was created to act as a watchdog. Sune's video information went through his mind over and over again, the data from his Mindy further rousing Yaichiro's suspicion with every iteration. He then realized he wasn't socializing like he should.

"Well...now that we have a break, why don't we get to know each other a little? I'm Shosa Kage Yaichiro, formerly of quite a few places, but the ones you'd likely care most about are the YSS Sakura and the YSS Eucharis briefly in the past. I was in the 5th XF in between those times until the UOC split when I came back, and am an Engineer. I won't bother droning on about what I've designed, and I've been living pretty humbly for the past couple of years as an Imperial Museum Curator and Commandant."

Takeyu sent out his order and rested his head back against the chair; he was tired, worn out, and the recent mission hadn't done any good for his worries.

He sat there comtemplating various things before hearing Yaichiro speak up, and explain his past a bit. Takeyu was visibly shocked at some of what Yaichiro said - a curator for a museum and a Commandant at that? He knew fortunes had smiled upon him with this pick of assignment.

After thinking about what Yaichiro said for a moment; he felt it was only proper to explain himself a bit.

"Well, the names Ittô Hei Nayacesen Takeyu, born originally in space to a mining family. I joined the Star Army just a year or two after my famiy had been murder----...," he stopped and found himself having a slight problem stating that his whole family had been killed when he himself wasn't to certain of that fact.

He fiddled with the pad in his pocket; then continued. "'some' of my family had been murdered," he corrected himself but feel silent.

As Orion entered the ship from the shuttle, he finally became less 'spaced-out', and began looking around. He followed after Orchid and Heram, but did not say a single word. The optic fibers on his body would begin glowing purple, but regardless, he would stay quiet for the duration of his stay. Once inside an in the presence of Hanako and Sune, Orion would bow his body downwards, but his third arm would thump against the ground comically and disable him bowing all the way down.

He would not speak until Heram would told him so. While on the ship, he would try to catch any Yamataian dialect he could to further learn whatever he could. When the science officer flanked him, his whole robotic body would turn, slightly clumsily what with his third arm thumping against the wall, to look at him before continuing forward. It was clear he was a bit uneasy, despite being unable to convey his emotions through any visual means other than his optic fibers. At the moment, the large, rainbow patterned hybrot would be cut off from the Polysentience due to the host ship's shields.

Long distance was not something his Polysentience Terminus unit had capabilities of. He could only use outside systems as a relay, and he was obviously not authorized by the YSS Eucharis' systems to do so... gods forbid he'd even dream of attempting to hack these systems!

Wazu would follow Hanako towards the meeting place, the entire time thinking about the starbase they were in. Mentally he was counting the number of steps he took, memorizing the path they were following to the wardroom, and making notes as to where pieces of emergency equipment were.

When they arrived, Wazu would take a seat on the leather bench across from Hanako. He would try and glance around the room before she had taken her seat, wanting to see everything without letting Hanako see that he was looking. Once they were both seated, his eyes would remain focused on her as he gave the others a few moments to get settled.

“Our initial goals,” Wazu started, “Are to break down some of the barriers that prevent the Nepleslian military from doing its job.

Movement through Yamatain territory without having to worry about getting shot at,

And sharing of intelligence on the NMX,

We also want to set up a system that will provide more stability in the core systems. This would involve a level of integration between Yamatain and Nepleslian ship designs, equipment, and command structure to allow such an endeavor to yield results.

We would set up a joint task force of Yamataian and Nepleslian forces,

A cross-nation industrial infrastructure,

And Establish the Great Lighthouse and Freehold as Nepleslian planets so Spacer refugees can return home.”

Wazu would then look for Orion, “And I believe our spacer has yet to have a chance to introduce himself.”

Sune observed the visitors as they made their way through the Ikoi. As both a medic and a scientist observation was his forte'. He would love the opportunity to spend several days doing an indepth biomedical study of the Freespacer. Studying a member of the polysentience was intriguing, but that was not the reason for this meeting.

Once they arrived at the wardroom, Sune watched as Heram seated himself and launched into a list of goals. Sune kept his face impassive, but was irked that this 'ship captain' would come in and start acting as if he was superior in position and authority to Hanako.

Choosing to remain standing until Hanako indicated other wise he felt the need to gather some information.

"Wazu-San, before we pursue these goals, I have one question that I would appreciate an answer to. Under what authority are you operating under to negotiate for the Star Military of the Democratic Imperium of Nepleslia? After all if this meeting to be productive, we need to know that you are in a position to make binding agreements." Sune inquired, as he took a position to Hanako's left and slightly behind her.

"We can allow you ships to move though Yamataian territory and to visit Yamataian systems with permission. We are also willing to share our intelligence with the NMX provided that you fully do the same. For ships and equipment, the Star Army would be willing to come up with some shared equipment such as medical kits, space suits, and some vehicles but is not interested in changing its starship design program at this time. Fully open trade and industry is desirable. We would be willing to consider a joint task force and personnel exchange programs. Due to Nepleslia's ongoing good relationship with the Freespacers we will not contest your annexation of their systems provided it is done with their consent. From what I know of them...I'm not sure how they'll feel about joining a government. That's between you and them, though.

Hanako paused for a moment, pushing a strand of sky-blue hair away from her eyes before continuing with Yamatai's demands. "We want a treaty that includes the following: open and ongoing communication, a promise not to undermine or commit hostile acts against one another, mutual recognition of rank, and an updated agreement on technologies restricted to non-government entities. We can modify the original treaty proposal."

“I’m the admiral of Nepleslia’s fourth fleet.” Wazu replied to Sune, “I am free to discuss, but what we work out here will eventually have to go before our senate for final approval. Assuming we reach a fair, mutually beneficial agreement it should not be held up unnecessarily.”

He would then turn his attention back to Hanako, his eyes fixated on the datapad in hand that he had taken from Drei.

“The YE 30 treaty seems fair enough, but Nepleslia has been burdened with upholding treaties that the other party has ignored before, which is why we are here talking about setting up a joint task force instead of letting the senate take care of things.

Setting up a joint task force gives Nepleslia specific advantages. A shared command structure will increase familiarity between both of our militaries. A mix of equipment such as Yamatain power armors, Nepleslian Weapons and Tanks, and a combination of NAM drones and KFY subspace detonators would ensure that both nations would have to contribute their industrial bases to the effort, preventing either from launching harmful actions of any kind against the other without threatening the joint task force itself. Of course sharing intelligence will have the same results, limiting the kinds of actions that both nations can take against each other under pain of loosing out on critical wartime intelligence.”

Wazu would then look up from the Datapad, setting it down on his lap and continuing the conversation with Hanako more directly.

“In exchange for this level of security, the Joint Task Force would be capable of further mitigating NMX attacks and would provide a special tool for defusing incidents between Yamatai and Nepleslia.

Honestly, from past experience, a treaty without some sort of assurance like the task force would be a waste of both of our time.”

Orchid followed the others to the wardroom and then frowned when she saw the booth with the table and benches. She could not understand why a diplomatic discussion location would have benches that would force those in attendance to scoot over into the booth in a most undignified manner. Since the bench was what was available she sat down next to Wazu in the booth. After taking her seat she took a glance around the room. She wondered about the motive of the use of this room, because the design certainly was not for function. She only half listened to what Wazu and Hanako were talking about as she analyzed the room’s features.

Just before they had filed into the wardroom, Heram had gone as far as to introduce the Freespacer into the conversation. This caused Orion to inadvertently stop, raising his right hand into the air before bowing and stating in clear Yamataian. "Certainly, Wazu-San. Allow me to--"

Nashoba said:
"Wazu-San, before we pursue these goals, I have one question that I would appreciate an answer to. Under what authority are you operating under to negotiate for the Star Military of the Democratic Imperium of Nepleslia? After all if this meeting to be productive, we need to know that you are in a position to make binding agreements." Sune inquired, as he took a position to Hanako's left and slightly behind her.

Orion raised himself from his bow, and allowed the interruption to happen. Ah well, not like he needed to really introduce himself. Chances were these Yamataians didn't much care for his existence, anyway... The hybrot looked around the wardroom, hearing the conversation going on between Heram and the two Yamataian officers. Overhearing Heram's discourse on the annexation of the Freespacer planets, he felt the need to interrupt, but thought better to stay silent. Upon further thought, he discovered the reason behind Heram's wishes to annex the Great Lighthouse and the Freehold Factory as part of Nepleslia... but to have to go through such lengths was a bit frustrating, honestly. All this red tape and the bureaucracies of these beings from the south were a bit useless, from his point of view.

But he'd speak about that with Heram later. At the moment, Heram was too busy to speak of those matters.
