Cargo Bay

Blood splattered against the walls of the cargo bay as the NMX Nekos' bodies were smacked wit 35mm rounds. Nearly the entire flood of NMX Neko that had entered the cargo bay were plunged either to the floor of the bay or back out where they had come from.

The tentacles that had shown themselves a moment before retracted from the Kaiyō for a second before the Mishhu lunged up and into the ship and grappled onto the barrel of the Type 30 Machine Gun and twisted it back so that the bullets stopped feeding through and the barrel was pointing towards Mitsuko. Its tentacles moved up all at once, then pointed towards Mitsuko and it dove forward, towards her.

Power Armor Bay

"Look," Leeta said over comms as she pointed to the top of the power armor bay. There was a sliver of darkness there. It expanded and soon, the infantry Neko was yelling out, "Breach! We've got a breach!" Before the darkness of space could be fully seen from inside of the ship, parasites rocketed in at high speeds, punching into the power armor, floors, walls, and everything else in the bay. Madoka stumbled backwards, knocked off balance as she was hit by one. Leeta went to grab her, but was struck as she turned to help.

"Fire on the enemy!" Leeta yelled as she regained her stance and began shooting at the opening that was now flooded by parasites jamming through it and into the ship.

"It's all okay," Eden said to Saki telepathically. "Pretend this is a drill. I have to make it convincing to the rest of the crew. I wouldn't want you to get hurt, my sweet."

"Captain?" Boss said with a lilting tone of voice.

"Yes?" Eden responded quickly.

"It's the princess," Boss replied. "She's going to the power armor bay."

"That's not good," Eden said under her breath.

"Would you like me to remind her?" Boss said as Eden picked up her belt and NSP from the suite and clipped it on over her pajama bottoms, the only article of clothing that she was currently wearing. Eden's bare feet smacked against the hallway's floor as she looked at the escape pod Saki was in and sent out a telepathic message.

"Just pretend it's all going to be okay, Saki. Just pretend for me, okay?" Eden's telepathic message to her was laced with feelings of unease, but at its core was love.

Riku turned his seat around to face the Taii, her back facing him as he looked over towards what, no, where Eden had gone. Taking off his headset, he stood up in front of his console and began the process of sending out a general distress signal on all allied frequencies; doing this right now seemed like a moot point but Riku hoped that the rest of the squadron would eventually be able to assist once they were finished on their end. Or someone passing by could render them some sorely needed help. Unclipping the NSP from his holster, he checked it's settings and made sure it was set to Pulse before running over towards the suite, leaving his post involuntarily for the first and hopefully last time in his career.

"Eden-Taii!" He called out to her, head turning back to look towards Ito, the pilot, and Asuka. They were Nekos and Riku wasn't too concerned about their ability to defend themselves against a small swarm of Mishhuvurthyar. If anything got too dicey, MEGAMI could always lock the bridge down and seal the bulkheads, preventing them from getting through for at least a couple minutes; maybe more. Their first priority now was to repel the boarders and re-take control of the ship.

"If you're planning on going out there alone, I highly advise against it. If Ito-hei and Asuka-hei remain at their posts here, I can spare myself to assist whatever endeavors you have outside the confines of this bridge."

The Minkan was ready to die for the ship if need be, but he wasn't about to let the Captain get captured by these creatures, or worse, killed.

Hallway Outside of the Bridge

Eden turned her head, black hair whipping around as she did so. Her golden eyes sparkled with misplaced concern. She swung her arms to stand with her bare feet planted against the floor of the hallway and nodded to Riku.

"Santo Hei! Back to your posting!" Eden called, then turned back around and went to the zero gravity passageway.

Power Armor Bay

At Leeta-Hei's first warning, Hanna sighted her GP-12B towards the aberration as it gradually expanded in size. Hanna flipped the safety off on her weapon and changed to fully automatic, favoring volume of fire over precision. As it expanded, Hanna drew a deep breath, mentally preparing herself for combat. Without a moment's notice, the things flew into the cabin, striking a number of the infantry, the frameworks, and the walls. Almost immediately, the sound of weapons discharge and blunt impacts began to ring in Hanna's ears as Leeta-Hei gave a redundant order to fire. Expecting man-sized targets to emerge from the blackness, Hanna was initially caught off guard by the swift and unexpected nature of the attack. Regaining a measure of composure, Hanna fired into the dense mass of the creatures emerging from the orifice, her energy projectiles connecting with a number of creatures. However, the creatures began to disperse throughout the bay, creating a hazardous situation that demanded the utmost trigger discipline. Hanna thought of activating a smoke grenade, but abandoned this thought when she realized that the creatures were seemingly attacking at random regardless of visibility.

Looking to minimize risk to herself, Hanna moved towards the corners of the bay, so as to gain a better view of the unfolding chaos. Firing as she moved, an errant creature struck her a glancing blow on the thigh. Looking down, Hanna managed to get a close look at the creature's ugliness before it took a retreating orbit away from Hanna. Hanna took an aimed shot at the retreating creature, managing to connect her projectile with it before one of creatures emerged into her periphery...

Riku, with some hesitation, nodded back and turned to go back to his post. He still felt some mild discomfort towards leaving the Captain to her fate alone but seldom orders came down for reasons that went over his rank and pay grade. Holstering his service pistol, he returned to his seat at the communications console and put the headset back on. Times like these he wished he was a Neko instead.

Meissa almost used a Scalar grenade as the downpour of Parasites flooded in. That was a silly idea. It wouldn't clear them out fast enough. Besides, it could just hit one of those...worm things and bounce right back at the armor group. Then they'd all be blood splats in glorified cans.

Using a little bit of logic, she instead deployed her NSBs and the drones from her back. Ineffective? Maybe. The enemy seemed endless. Hopeless? Possibly. It seemed nigh impossible to stop the Mishhu from possibly escaping the bay.

Give it a try? Why not. Meissa dove back to shut the doors of the armor bay after her drones were deployed. She attached half a block of PE to her longer range drones, ones they could shake off with a hard turn.

Then, she turned, sending her longer range drones forward on a pseudo-strafing run, locked her Aether Beam into Saber mode, and started swinging. Not at anything in particular, due to the swarm. But it was reminiscent somewhat of a blender.

Sutahira decided to stop in the med-bay for extra medical supplies, dumping bandages, sanitizing solution, pain killers, and other supplies into his medical bag. He slung the bag over his shoulder, and ran out of the room, heading towards the cargo bay. He paused a moment when the ship vibrated and the unmistakable gunfire that Mitsuko was producing in the cargo bay reached his ears. This was real. The Kaiyo, his first assignment, was under siege by the Mishhu. He was fairly proficient at medical procedures, but with Mishhu...

He pushed the thought of him losing his teammates out of his mind, and started towards the cargo bay again, the duffel bag of supplies slapping his left hip as he carried his rifle in his right hand. He paused a second moment when the cargo bay noise had stopped (at least from what he could hear), and new gunfire resounded from the PA Bay. The Infantry, they would need him, but Mitsuko was in trouble as well.

Sutahira decided to fulfill the Captain's orders and made his way to the Cargo Bay, eventually joining the rest of the Kaiyo's crew who had not rushed to the power armor bay.

"Gah, already...!?"

Abart'huse quickly dropped the two crates he was carrying at the moment, hastily reaching for the Beam saber rifle he had brought along, thinking it would be more practical than his usual Aether gatling within the confined spaces of the ship. However, the sudden turn of events made him nervous, seeing as it was not only his first lve ballte, but one agains those infamous Mishuu he had only heard stories about.....not particulaly fun ones either.

He subconsciously clamed the tip of his tail around the third crate of PE, keeping it close to his side as he turned his Mindy armor towards the breach. With his lagre stature, his PA was equipped as a heavy-hitting weapons platform, sporting a pair of 50mm Gauss cannons over his shoulders with the expansion pack on his dorsal hardpoint, conplimented bt the double lower-leg NSB pods to add some degree of versatility to his loadout.

With the huge swarm of parasites flowing from the breach, he immediately launched all of his 12 bits to point as many barrels on the swarming intruders as possible, specifically targeting the ones that came too close. The ones that just came out the breach were met by the not-so careful spray of his rifle, firing indiscriminately, feeding directly off the Mindy's power source.

PA bay

There was a blur of motion rocketing across the bay. A force of nature one might say, with how fast it blasted, volumetric armor up all around her to defend her from the hapless chargings of the parasites. Even if they managed to get through that, there was still zesurium armor plating to worry about. Bewhind her, a trail of constantly moving NSBs opened up in full auto, giving her and those around her covering fire from the parasites, doing their jobs as point defences to track and smack the wily buggers.

She had analyzed the situation extremely quickly, and realized that to the armored infantry themselves, they were relitively little threat. Still dangorous, but much more so to any crew member unfortunate enough to not be in armor, and facing one of these fastball speed gliders. On top of that her gattling rifle was a highly inapropriate weapon for the situation, and almost the same could be said about her wrist projectors. However, her body was always an effective bludgeoning tool. Using the NSB cams to see when something was aproaching her, but couldn't shoot it out of the sky, she would smack it down with all the speed and precision of a trained Neko.

Her ultimate goal was the armory doors, to lock them and prevent the parasites from entering the rest of the ship. "Mind your shots! Don't shoot the equipment with aether!" She shouted as she zoomed towards that door. Halfway through, she realized something vitally important, and sent a message to boss. "S-shut the doors! Lock all the doors here!" Already, she was red in the face for not realizing that simple solution.

As Yoshida thought her actions through, Meissa did...her normal antic.

They needed heavier bombs. Not more bombs, heavier bombs. More would only mean they get deflected. But, if someone could teleport...

She remembered a lesson saying, "Don't teleport indoors due to the scalar field! You'll gib your fellow crew!"

She was doodling feathers during that lesson. Not the best student, but she was thankful she listened to that line, at least. Because now she was probably about to break that rule.

Scalar fields. Sudden pulses of gravity waves literally tearing things apart, frying electronics, unless if it was protected against scalar attacks.

"Clear breach!" she shouted. "Clear breach! All personnel without CFS shielding, get out, now!"

Demolitions taught you more chemistry. And conventional physics. It covered scalar detonations some, but it always seemed stupid to her why they covered it. It didn't knock down walls, it didn't destroy ceilings. It didn't close paths or open new ones.

She was so glad she was wrong now.

She wasn't the best at math, but she could ballpark numbers. With this one maneuver, she could take out a large section of the invading monsters. At a high price, of course, but either way the Kaiyo would be paying Havoc its dues.

The teleport embedded in her Mindy started to whine as it spun up.

"Time to make the dumbest gamble to date." Meissa muttered, just loud enough for people to hear.

Fifteen seconds. Fifteen infinite seconds.

Still firing away at the horde of parasitic intruders, Abart'huse heard the Ittó-hei's words, not paying them much heed as he was aware of the Mindy's own CFS system. Her change in attitude made him think she was up to something, though it didn't sound like he was part of her scheme. Reflexively hissing through his frustrated grunts, he turned his attention back to the breach, doing his part in holding back as many of the vile Mishuu creatures as he could manage.

"Gchhh-!!! How many more of thesse damned thingss are there anywayss!?"

In all honesty, the Separa's nerves were getting to him somewhat. Even though the many parasitic beasts were dispatched relatively quickly by him and his fellow combatants, the continuous flow of seemingly endless numbers of enemies imparted that feeling of futility into his mind, which was discouraging to say the least. Whatever the Elysian was cooking up, he hoped she'd get on with it quickly.

Cargo Bay

Anastasia busted into the Cargo Bay not too long after the first shot was fired. She briefly found herself feeling very small among the immense amount of dull gray boxes, before moving into position behind the cover Mitsuko had lovingly created by the door.

She set her SMG to fire aether rounds, taking a peek around the side of the box at the approaching forces. Normally she'd have the comfort of her drones, but she was without her Mindy today. It was going to be a rough day.

Anastasia spotted the Tankette mowing through the forces, as well as the horrific monstrosity making short work of its cannon. She was about to fire upon the creature, before realizing the much larger threat of the NMX forces headed in her direction. She instead took one of the concussion grenades, and pulled the string at the top of it, hurling it in a beautiful arc across the cargo bay. It landed towards the very front of them, bound to bounce straight into their numbers.

Mitsuko was a Nekovalkyrja, hopefully she could hold her own for a few seconds.

Cargo Bay

Sutahira stopped short of the door that Anastasia had just blown through, and peeked through to witness the Mishhu creature deform the tank's barrel, as well as Anastasia lob a concussive grenade at the horde of Mishhu presently in the chamber.

He ran through, joining Anastasia by the cover created by Mitsuko, and Sutahira dropped the duffel bag of medical supplies onto the floor with a thunk. Once in position, he peeked around the corner of his cover, switched off his safety on his rifle, and began firing at various Mishhu parasites. Sutahira reached to his belt for a concussive grenade as well. Panic streaked through him. In his rushing, he had forgotten his grenades! "Damnit! I don't have any grenades!" He exclaimed, popping out of cover again to kill more Mishhu.

At this point, Anastasia's grenade detonated, sending Mishhu parasites flailing through the air if they weren't already pulverized by the sheer force of the explosion.

Cargo Bay, Tankette

Mitsuko continued to uselessly work the controls for the machine gun for another second or two after it had been disabled, grunting in frustration. She had just enough time to draw her NSP before the hatch above her was wrenched open by those grasping tendrils, the Mishhuvurthyar's horrific face looming above her. Before she could even think about escaping, it already had a firm grip on her, dragging Murakami out of hiding to meet it, as the two latest arrivals heard her shrieks of alarm.

With the vehicle's main weapon disabled and no other firearms stored in the Cargo Bay, she had little to work with. It was not likely that she'd be making it out of this in one piece. Before the creature could finish her off, the unassuming Logistics Neko wrenched her arm up as high as the powerful tendrils would let her, using all of her strength in an attempt to jam the small barrel against one of the creature's eyes. With the NSP set to Heavy, she desperately squeezed the trigger as hard as she could manage. Mitsuko was already wincing as she continued to scream, fully expecting to lose her hand, if not the entire arm, at this range.

Passageway

Amanozako had sent her call out, now she bolted for where the enemy was getting in. She hoped her ship got there fast, it's added firepower was desperately needed, she knew.

Within moments Amanozako stormed into the Power Armor Bay, coming onto a scene from hell. The fighting was underway. There were NMX nekovalkyrja, her sisters and there were parasites. She could smell them before she saw them. They revolted her and she could feel the rage at the vile creatures use building deep in the pit of her gut.

The former NMX neko shouldered her rifle, instead drawing one of her HHG pistols, checking to make sure it was loaded with the Red Shells that she wanted. She held the large revolver in a two hand grip, aiming for the breach that had been punched through the bulkhead, which was crawling with the disgusting, slimy, evil, parasites, and pulled the trigger, firing her first red shell into the mass of monsters.

The shell exploded on impact, blasting into the mass of invading creatures that slithered their way in through the breach.

Armory

Soon after arming himself with a handy rifle from a nearby rack - not that he had any idea what to do with it - Mochi stood around sheepishly looking around for anyone he recognised as non-Infantry. Despite his rather.. unfortunate state of dress he needed to act his rank, despite having done very little actual combat training. If he found anyone, he would call out and hopefully they would go to the Hold in a group rather than as a trickle.

After a minute or so Arble, Meissa and Mat stumbled into the fray of crewmembers jostling for weapons and firearms. Before the Juni could call out, everyone seemed to be heading out and he dashed towards the cherry-winged Elysian. Putting a hand softly on her shoulder so not to startle her, he immediately recognised exactly how exposed and cold she was. On instinct, Mochi janked off his labcoat and draped it over the angel's shoulders without a second thought. "Hey, stay with me, okay? We'll force these NMX back, I promise." he reassured her, despite being admittedly scared at what they were about to face himself. If he was thinking anything beyond their imminent conflict, he wasn't showing it.

Eventually, they burst into the Cargo Bay to the sound of gunfire, explosions and screams. Some horrific eldritch entity was clawing at Mitsuko, as she brought her weapon up to drive it away. With his experience from leading the last Away Team, his normally-scrambled demeanour slipped away - "Don't fire on the creature until she's free, you might hit her! Suppressing fire as soon as there's an opening!"

Dashing into cover with Arb-Arb at his side, the Doctor joined the rest of the fighters and primed his weapon to the best of his knowledge, keeping it trained on the breach in case any other creatures decided to join the fun until when and if their current adversary was open to fire.

The weapons operator paused her trek just long enough to redden under the cheeks and fasten the top connection of the labcoat, making even the amount of clothing worn between the couple. That little bit of embarassment faded into oblivion with a tide of adrenaline bringing the tiny target into the cargo bay with a shout.

Using one of the unfortunate Neko's precious boxes as cover, the little Shan took a quick summary of the current state of the battlefield before elevating herself to the top. She may be more exposed up here-in more ways than one-but some of the stacked can uniquely-shaped crates provided plenty of cover. Breaking the large mishhu's line of sight with herself, the Marble kept her sights toward the very much open entrance of the bay, prepared to open fire at the first thing that moved with a wall of ammunition. Unable to see Mitsuko, the little Shan was subject to her mind's eye filling in the blanks behind those screams...

After grabbing his rifle and a couple of grenades, the Elysian followed part of the team to the PA bay

Either I forgot what a mishhu is... Or I didn't pay enough attention in class...

When he got to the Power Armor Bay, he took out his rifle and aimed at one of the parasites, but, he did something he probably shouldnt have done. He examined it.

"Oh god... That..is"

He quickly put a hand on his mouth as he felt his dinner coming up to his mouth...

Sutahira ducked behind his crate and watched the newcomers join the fray. He ripped the magazine from his rifle and jammed the new one in. Only one more left. He would have to choose his shots wisely. He had his NSP, but it would do little good here. The new Elysian wearing the Doctor's coat floated upwards, weapon trained on the breach.

Sutahira spotted Mistuko, the Neko wrestling with Mishhu. He aimed at surrounding Mishhu, deciding to take some heat off the unfortunate Neko. With their combined firepower, they dispatched Mishhu left and right, and when a parasite form flew at the firing line it was quickly dealt with. Sutahira just hoped that Mitsuko remained steadfast and that the crew was able to repel the invaders. Sutahira would let his first mission end in flames to Mishhu. He would also not allow anyone to die at their hands. Not if Sutahira Medikku had anything to say about it.

With hat thought in his mind, he began choosing his shots and watched the ammo he dispensed hit the evil Mishhu, smiling with every hit.

Power Armor Bay

Utilizing her enhanced Neko reflexes, Hanna threw herself out of the path of the incoming parasite, dodging what would have been a direct hit to the neck. Fortunately, Hanna's dodge had thrown her into the corner, creating a clear line of sight for Hanna to shoot at the parasites. While the parasites had dispersed around the power armor bay, there was still an active conglomeration of them at the breach as they continued to enter the room. With her rifle set to full-auto, Hanna fired at the area near the breach, hoping to connect her shots with the parasites as they entered the power armor bay. As she fired, Nashira-Hei shouted for any personnel without CFS shielding to clear the breach. Conscious of her CFS Shielding, Hanna initially gave little attention to Nashira-Hei's orders. However, Hanna took a brief glance at Nashira-Hei and saw that she was preparing to do something drastic.

Another wave of parasites emerged from the breach, occupying Hanna with more targets to fire upon, her shots connecting with many of the foul creatures. Soon, however, a mix of curiosity and consternation got the better of Hanna.

"Nashira-Hei, what are you planning to do?!"
