Her grenade still emitting colored smoke as she danced, Hanna deftly slashed at the parasites in the air, her movements akin to those of an eidolic phantasm. Her peripheral and dorsal visibility obscured by the smoke, Hanna focused on the incoming parasites in her limited field of view. Anticipating more NMX Nekos to come out of the breach, Hanna pulled the string on her second smoke grenade and tossed it below the breach, hoping to obscure the visibility of any more infiltrators. Hanna observed two NMX Nekos going after Theisillis-Hei, quickly dodging out of the Separa'Shan's line of sight. Utilizing her Mindy's CFS systems, Hanna broke into a propulsion-boosted sprint towards the Separa'Shan. Timing her jump, she boosted into the back of the airborne NMX Neko, aiming to impale the Separa'Shan's assailant on her Wristblades...

William kicked the NMX soldier away and dropped back down to the floor, the blood on his blade flash boiling and his armor becoming painted crimson. His eyes widening at the realization that he just killed someone...

However, he couldn't focus on that now. If he did he would get himself killed. He let the anger wash over him again. When he heard what Yoshida said he blasted back toward her position. "I'll cover you!" He said becoming a shield for her. His swords cutting through the air towards the parasites that were trying to attack Yoshida.

Endo saw the opportunity to get to Mitsuko, looking for the briefest pause in fire she could. She swooped out of the door and jumped across the floor in a low-lying pounce, landing by Mitsuko. "You're gonna be alright, soldier!" She dragged Mitsuko farther back from the fallen container, putting more space between them and the enemy.

Endo rushed through the bag, quickly pulling out a single dose shot of Nekovalkyrja grads stimulant, before stabbing the needle right into Mitsuko's chest. A spike of adrenaline energy rushed into the logistics Neko, punching her back from the brink of unconsciousness.

Anastasia was caught out of place by the sudden NMX soldier, moving around the corner. The technician let out a painful screech as her eyeholes were violated by the soldier, squinting and moving back. She slammed the butt end of her SMG against the ribcage of the NMX agent, before being kicked in the gut.

The kick caused Anastasia to lurch forwards as her body stumbled backwards. She fell to the floor, resisting the urge to clamp her face after the assault. She fired off a burst of aether rounds in the general direction of the kicker, highly inaccurate as both her eyes were clenched shut and blurry, in pain.

Caught off-guard, Abart'huse quickly lost sight of the two NMX soldiers leaping up in the air. Sa he slowed down and hastily scanned the area, he felt a loud and very noticable impact on his tail, realizing that at least one of them was right there behind him, standing on his tail.......BIG mistake on her part.......

Almost reflexively, his tail let go of the crate it had held closely all this time, and instead rushed towards the body of the NMX. While the sudden rifle blasts from both sides startled him, thowing off his "aim" somewhat, the tail still managed to clasp the two feet that oh so boldly stepped into it's range, wrapping itself arou d them tightly, and wasting no time in yanking on hem, hoisting the neko up by said feet.

"Gotcccchhhaahhhh!!!!!"

Using it's overwhelming strength combined wihh the Mindy's movement augmentations, the tail easily flung the ReaperSuit around to his side, quickly followed by him turning to the side and unload a burst of 3 hot 50mm tungsten slugs into the armor clad body firmly held in place by his tail.

From his hasty and relatively unbalanced position, the recoil of the Gauss shook his body more, causing it to jerk backwards a bit. However with the sheer mass and foothold of his tail, he stood his ground nonetheless.

Bridge

Riku found himself paying attention to several dozen different conversations at once as the battle comms from within the Kaiyo clashed with the adjacent reports coming in through MEGAMI of the Sixth Squadron's current status. Their screams of pain, frustration, and mounting desperation stirred little in him as the Minkan locked it all away for the sake of keeping his focus solely on making sure their impending sacrifice here wasn't in vain. He took a moment to look over to where the rest of his fellow bridge crew sat, their backs turned towards him and wondered if he shouldn't just end their suffering here and now. Memories began flooding in, of events that had happened decades ago, now becoming fresh again as the 'Battle of Yamatai' flickered in and out.

Replacing the bridge with a visage of carnage, blood, and broken equipment; battered and broken bodies doubled over in the chairs. He glanced over towards the bridge doors, a ripped open wreck as a large hole protruded outwards, it's jagged ends oozing the remnants of some unlucky Nekovalkyrja that had been pulled through. His Captain laid dead, a slew of parasites wriggling into the corpse as the remaining bridge crew came back to 'life', staring at him accusingly. His family's crushed bodies, disproportionate and battered but still recognizable, rose along with them; their hands extending, palms held outwards as if to invite him to join their grim play of death.

The sound of the door opening in the adjacent room leading into the Captain's Cabin opening broke him out of this stupor, hand immediately going to his holstered NSP as he saw the ghost of the XO's visage leaving the bridge, running out towards danger. Keeping the headset on, he turned towards the console, "MEGAMI, keep me informed on the status of our ships and the distress call beacon." And without waiting for a reply he ran off to finally follow after the two most important lifelines of a ship.

Hallway Outside of the Bridge

What he found once he went past the doors was a sight that made him instinctively raise the NSP in his hand and held the trigger down, firing a pulsed burst of rounds at the Mishhu hovering behind a vaguely familiar prone figure lying on the floor.

There certainly was some background noise missing in Meissa's mind. She just began to notice it, and mentally kicked herself for not noticing it earlier due to how important the lack of it was.

They had no commander.

No Eden, no Mitsuko, no Mochi. No input at all. She groaned a little as she realized the implication that she was effectively the highest ranking person in the PA bay at the current point in time. So, naturally, the disorganized chaos...fell on her to put back in order.

Well. No time like now to issue out orders. You know. While an NMX Neko is standing on top of her.

"William, back off a little!" she shouted over comms. "You don't have an ST backup! Amanozako , get in your Reaper already!"

She yanked on the Impaler Rifle, hoping she would fling the Neko to the side, or at least, send the Impaler skittering, smashing into the floor. She mentally tabulated who was in the PA bay. Leeta, Muyomi, Hanna. Abart and Yoshida. And, of course, herself, Amano, and William. Assign them. Quickly.

"NSBs on Parasites! Protect Amanozako! Abart, protect Yoshida! Leeta, help Yoshida after me! Muyomi, Hanna, kill Nekos! Everyone else, your discretion!"

Mitsuko suddenly jerked awake, wide awake, gasping in air as her eyes bulged open. She sat up almost violently, heart pounding, hand first going to her aching throat before clutching at her ragged stump. She winced at the sensation, panting, swiftly blocking out the pain, pushing it aside and locking it away. For now.

"What is...how are we...?" She trailed off, blinking those glowing eyes as she tried to focus. "Thank you...Hei." Murakami squinted at the medic, having trouble concentrating on which crew member this was assisting her. It took her a moment to get her bearings, noticing their new position further back in the row of boxes she'd set up, closer to the door. She spotted the squid some distance away, shivering at the sight.

Forcing her hand away from her shoulder, she leaned against the container for a moment, trying to think. "Please...seal this up...th-then we have to..." She furrowed her brow, concentrating. Her only weapon had been lost, and the only Tankette she'd prepared was useless. Mitsuko had no more surprises prepared, and was having trouble coming up with further applications for their home field advantage.

Caught in the spur of the moment, Abath'huse had ran off into the enemy, and somehow managed to deal with one of them. While he was handling himself fairly well in combat, for a minute he had completely forgotten about the other people in his squad, simply running off on his own accord like the total rookie he was. Hearing Nashira-hei's voice over comms snapped him out of his tunnelvisioned stupor, mentally beating himself up for being such a dork.

"Hai! Keep going Kokoro-hei, i'm coming!"

His response would've made an excellent innuendo for anyone not fighting for theirs or their crewmember's lives. Using his HUD's IFF, he regained his bearings, slithering towards Yosida's general direction for assistance. While doing so, he noticed the Elisyan in command, struggling under the Neko pinning her down.

"Nashira hei! Stay down!

With a skillful fling of his tail, he tossed the Reaper he had been holding at Nashira-hei's assailant, almost entirely certain of a strike.
During all ov this his NSB's had taken a moment to recharge their energy reserves, now fully ready to go and assist the quick 'n quirky neko turning this parasitic vermin into the galaxy's least desired sashimi.

Endo moved back as Mitsuko jerked back to life, making sure she didn't have any kind of seizure. "It was nothing... On it!" The blaze orange-haired neko got to work on Mitsuko's shoulder, cleaning the wound before applying both liquid and physical bandages. Whatever bleeding there was stopped quickly. "It's just a flesh wound. Was it your shooting arm?"

Endo seemed utterly unfazed by Mitsuko's arm, or lack thereof. She drew her service pistol from its holster, offering it to Mitsuko as Endo quickly packed up her supplies. They needed to move.

YSS Kaiyō - Hallway Outside of the Bridge

Hayashi Akiko, somewhat weary and extremely sore after the events of several hours prior, had just made her second grievous miscalculation of the day. It was something that, well, had never happened to the Intelligence Neko ever before in her four years of existence - and it was a sin that, in the Juni's mind, was completely unacceptable for a Nekovalkyrja (especially one trained by Star Army Intelligence) to commit.

Once was bad enough, given the sheer number of failures and imperfect decisions involved - but twice?

It was simply inconceivable, yet there it was, playing out right before Akiko's jade-colored eyes.

Even worse was the fact that the cobalt-haired Neko (sore, as mentioned earlier, and too exhausted to perform her usual evening workout routine) had been in the Power Armor Bay itself when the attack began. Such an Empress-blessed stroke of luck should, no, would have ordinarily given Akiko a lethal advantage over the NMX (as indicated by Boss) by granting her the time she needed to generate a rough prediction of what tactics and assets the enemy would utilize and formulate a response - but with her compromised emotional state, those few seconds caused something...else to occur, instead.

For the first time in her life, Akiko had worried about the lives of her crewmates instead of focusing on the success of the mission, her inquisitive, analytical mind thinking of scenario after scenario in which Muyomi-Hei and Rei-Yojimbo suffered death (or worse) at the hands of the Mishhuvurthyar boarders - which meant that her usually zesuaium-sharp analyses were rushed and hastily-drawn. Although she was indeed correct in assuming that the OPFOR commander would utilize a multi-pronged plan of assault against the YSS Kaiyō, most likely critical and/or exposed areas such as the bridge, cargo bay, and power armor bay, she one very, very incorrect assumption: that the ship's bridge would be assaulted by powered armor.

It was, of course, an easy conclusion to make - the NMX were quite fond of their Reapers and Rippers, and besides, how else was one supposed to assault a starship's control center? - but it was also one that didn't take into account one very, very important detail: it, quite bluntly, was a royal bitch to invade a Plumeria's command center thanks to the heavy armor plating surrounding it, therefore making a power-armored an exercise in futility...unless one could simply ignore all that armor by passing straight through it, like a Ghost Mishhuvurthyar was capable of doing.

Further compounding things was Akiko's natural distrust of the Minkan on duty at the time, Kawazoe Riku; had it been a Nekovalkyrja manning the Mission Ops/Communications console, the SAINT Neko would've been more inclined to notify them of the impending attack. Akiko's less-then-pristine mental condition, however, meant that she assumed Teien-Taii had already accounted for such an occurrence and that Kawazoe-Hei was too busy with managing communications to bother listening to the Juni - and it meant that didn't realize the rampant imperfection of this logic until long after the mission's conclusion.

These reasons and more were why Akiko momentarily felt something akin to terror as she watched the Taii become infected, for it was then that she remembered just what she'd forgotten to take into account when determining her tactics and equipment loadout.

It was why she acted on instinct alone, using her armor's inertial and gravimetric manipulation abilities to hop backwards (still facing the Ghost head-on as she did so) while activating the Mindy's Combined Field System and firing a short burst of 7x15mm armor-piercing rounds back at the aforementioned Mishhuvurthyar.

Then her emotion-clouded mind finally caught up with reality and noticed the other two individuals on the opposite side of the Ghost.

"DOWN!"

The Happy Gathering in Hell

The little Shan gasped back into the realm of the fighting, looking around for a few moments to reorient herself and Mochi squeezed at her functional hand. "Seino..." Her eyes locking with her love's, what had initially seemed to be just a bad dream started to reassert its hold on the female's reality at the rate of her nervous system.

"Seino! Go!" She coughed, torso heaving unhelpfully for the medic treating the operator's shoulder as a throbbing, dulled pain finally came around. "Go! I'm fine! Keep them off of us!" As she spoke, Arb-Arb's eyes began to focus and clear up, shining with some inner fury. How DARE these degenerates hide around, how DARE they try to board, when yet the squadron had yet almost arrived at its safe haven! Robbed of the sanctuary by this glorified, disgusting seafood!

Power Armor Bay

Amanozako emptied her first HHG of red shells and now holstered the weapon, there was not time to reload it yet. She dove for cover and slipped her impaler rifle off her back and shouldered the long arm, aiming over a crate and firing volleys of bue-white scalar energy into the enemy. She noted the nodal support bits as they swarmed about her, that was unexpected, and for an instant, she thought they might be some new NMX weapon come to get her, but they were a defense.

The dark haired neko hissed as she saw the enemy keep coming, on and on, she bared her teeth at them and fired and fired on them. Seeing the NMX uniforms, their soldiers, their disgusting parasites, filled her with rage. She did not see one of the vile Mishhu yet, but they would be coming after their pawns, their manufactured soldiers, like herself, and their disgusting worm-like parasites. She knew they were coming. She had been part of such ship invasions before during the war, she knew their tactics, how they fought and the way they did things. They did not have a lot of time before things got a lot worse.

She was very exposed without power armor, the enemy was using parasites, reapers and rippers, which all of could easily kill her. She needed her own PA and needed it fast. But getting into it while the space was under assault was not going to be a simple matter at all.

Amanozako cursed savagely and guaged the distance from where she was to where her reaper was parked.

"Cover me, I'm going for my reaper!" She called to the others, then gritted her teeth as she spotted an un-armored nmx neko poked out from cover, looking to mow down one of the other Kaiyo crew defending the power armor bay. Amanozako brought her impaler to bear and held the trigger down, spraying the enemy with deadly fire before she herself broke cover and sprinted for her armor.

Cargo Bay

The sounds of discord and chaos echoed through the cavernous room that their small group of makeshift infantry occupied, shots flying wildly around the tiny patch of cover the smol detail were nestled inside. Time slipped by crucial moment by moment, Mochi getting more and more concerned at Arble's condition. Just as he was thinking the worst, she took a violent breath and came back to reality. A surge of relief coursed through the blonde as her eyes lit up, locking with his. Before he could say anything, the pint-sized birb made it very clear that he shouldn't worry.

With a grim yet reassuring smile, he nodded and squeezed her hand firmly back. "If it kills me." the blonde swore, determination building and shining through his eyes. He couldn't - no - he wouldn't let her die, it was time for revenge. Now he was on the warpath. Snatching up his rifle, the look of a demon about he stood. "We need to seal that breach NOW! Someone use that robot arm to pile containers on it, everyone else cover!" the Juni roared with pure hatred. Slamming a new magazine into his weapon, he resumed withering fire directly at the breach.

Power Armor Bay

Meissa's wrist-mounted cannon fire connected hard and fast with her opponent, but their shields could take a beating. The rifle clattered to the floor and the NMX used its now-free hand to begin pummeling at Meissa's helmet. Her comms started to fritz and she heard static for a moment before the line was a jumble. Thankfully, the comms situated themselves again as Abaart’huse knocked the NMX Neko in the Reaper off of the Eysian.

Yoshida was able to knock a Reaper back momentarily, but the power armor launched forward, casting the empty Mindy aside, and flung the butt of its gun towards Yoshida's face before William came in to the scene and stopped most of its movements with his swords. He wasn't able to have such a lucky strike this time. Instead, he had pushed against the power armor just enough to melt a layer of the exterior as well as hold it at bay. The NMX Neko inside of the Reaper slammed the butt of the gun against Yoshida, sending the Mindy'd Neko back a few steps, and twirled it to have it face William.

Hanna's propulsion-boosted sprint towards Abaart'huse soon ended up having her make contact with the NMX Neko's body, flinging the Reaper across the power armor bay. Hanna and the NMX Neko landed together in a heap. The enemy had taken a bit of damage from the wristblades Hanna had used against her, but they were still able to fight and shot their impaler rifle into Hanna's middle.

Amanozako dealt out damage to the forces she knew all too well. Unfortunately for her, she was clipped on the leg while a dozen unarmored NMX Neko filed in to the power armor bay and began shooting.

Cargo Bay

Calver's shots hit the belly of the beast and it squeezed him tightly with two of its tentacles around his body and began pulling him, as if trying to rip him apart in the middle.

As Anastasia slammed her SMG against the NMX Neko, she exhaled heavily as if the wind was knocked out of her. Though, after she had done that the aether rounds hit her and she fell backwards, sprawled against the floor.

Airi listened to Mochi's commands and began throwing boxes at the Mishhu and Calver with the robotic arm. Sitting at the controls, she looked at the Juni, saying, "Got it!"

Mochi was able to kill of NMX Neko as they flew in, but there were a dozen in already. They shot out wildly and jumped through the air at the Kaiyō personnel. One attached itself to Iemochi and aimed its gun at his head, about to squeeze the trigger.

Mitsuko would be able to see that many boxes had spilled open near her. From one a great assortment of Type 30 Machine Guns, a full box of undergaments, hand grenades, and twenty bags of rice, some of which had opened, that created a mountain to be climbed to get to the objects strewn around the fallen containers.

And then there was a SLAM.

Hallway Outside of the Bridge

Saki's attempts were all futile after she had flown forward to Eden's gun and shot out round after round. The Mishhu flung a tentacle towards her, dislodging the gun from her hands and that same tentacle latched itself around her throat and raised her up into the air.

The Ghost Mishhu took fire from Riku's NSP. No blood spurted from it and no discernible movement could be noted. It was as if the shots hadn't connected at all. The only thing that made it apparent the rounds had connected was the fact that it quickly dropped Saki to the floor of the hallway and phased out of existence.

Eden coughed out as she heaved herself up and made her way to the NSP knocked on the ground by the Ghost Mishhu.

Akiko's 7x15mm armor-piercing rounds then rocketed forward at incredible speeds, aimed directly for Riku as he stood outside of the bridge. The bullets thunked against the door immediately inches from Riku's head.

Not at the A-type in the Cargo Bay

Having drawn her NSP one-handed as soon as Mochi gave her functional hand the freedom of movement, Arb-Arb just managed to notice the enemy neko as soon as it could have been seen from the floor, firing directly at its torso as long as Mochi's visage wasn't in her way, going for the easiest way to force it into submission.

"YOU ARE NOT WELCOME!" Screaming out some partial taunt to try diverting the NMX's attention, Arble did everything she could, gave what she had, to make sure the scientist didn't fulfill his words like this.

"Thanks, Abart!" Meissa shouted. "Mow those newcomers down! My shields are downed as well!"

While her opponent was still stunned, Meissa wasted no time. She leapt to her feet with her Mindy's thrusters, scooped up her trusty Aether Beam-Saber, and slammed the Reaper armor into the wall with her arm. In an arc of energy, she pirouetted, Beam-Saber still in hand, and sliced right at the Reaper.

Hallway Outside of Bridge

Misaki coughed a little while she sprawled her limbs as she hit the deck. She almost instantly regained her bearings and crawled with great speed to Eden, stopping her from reaching her NSP by running her arms around her stomach and using the majority of her body weight to pull back, "No, don't make me do this. Please, Eden-dono, don't make me do this." She knew it was back to square one, and the tears flowing down her cheeks. She didn't want to kill Eden, she didn't want her to die. She was so locked into her tunnel vision that she seemed to forget the existence of her Soul Tranfer Backup, how for some reason she had to live instead of just getting the mercy shot.

Saki's grip was locked tight, no stopping it. She was shaking enough to be visible, and pulled herself close to Eden, giving out a teary, heartbroken whimper,

"Please don't die."

Cargo Bay

Anastasia soon recovered from the assault, standing up one foot at a time. Vision still disturbed and her head and gut throbbing in pain, she approached the fallen NMX neko. She looked down with one red eyelid fluttering trying to recover from the jab, and fired a burst of aether rounds right into the neko's head.

There wasn't any mercy left in the cargo left. If there was any to begin with. "I-I'm... up."

Anastasia, still disoriented, moved herself closer to the boxes by the door, taking position behind it. She was too busy being under attack to catch the plan, but was alerted by the sudden boxes being slammed down on the breach. She also noticed the broken boxes surrounding the team, thinking for a quick strategy before things got too out of hand. She still had a concussion grenade.

Hanna landed in an awkward and vulnerable position after the airborne attack, her body tangled with that of her target. Having landed in a favorable position, her adversary got a hand on her Impaler Rifle and began to shoot into Hanna's middle. Pushing herself into an advantageous position on top of her enemy, Hanna threw her mass behind a headbutt aimed at the head of the adversary. Briefly stunning the NMX Neko, Hanna unleashed a series of slashes aimed at the Neko's rifle and neck, hoping to disarm and decapitate the Neko in an instant. Without observing the outcome of her attacks, Hanna boosted into the air, firing her wrist-mounted SMGs as she went, disengaging herself from the situation.

Hanna took a brief refuge behind an armor storage rack, adrenaline concealing any injuries or pain she may have acquired in the recent engagement. Taking a brief moment to recalibrate herself, Hanna decided upon her next course of action after hearing Nashira-Hei's orders. Hanna activated the NSB drones on her legs, ordering them to shoot down the parasites within the power armor bay. Realizing that the NSBs might interfere with her plan, Hanna ordered them to disperse throughout the power armor bay, instead of forming a cloud around their host.

Acting upon her next course of action, Hanna retracted her forearm weapons and proceeded to activate the Mindy's active camouflage systems, her form gradually turning invisible. As her Mindy shifted to an invisible form, Hanna peaked her now-invisible head out of cover, pulling her final smoke grenade from her waist as she glanced at the breach. Seeing a dozen unarmored NMX Neko file into the power armor bay, Hanna mentally reaffirmed her commitment to the plan.

Hanna pulled the string on her smoke grenade and lobbed it towards the breach. Taking a deep breath and exiting from her cover, Hanna sprinted towards the now building smoke cloud and plunged herself into the mist. Once inside, Hanna activated her wrist blades, and set them upon the Neko intruders...
