It's A Hallway Sandwich In Here...

"Actually, command haven't given me orders to follow. Since I wasn't told what to do, I didn't stick around and ask, because chances are I could have been stuck with the second group. I would be fine with either option, Yoshida-hei, but there's nothing I can do to help William that the others can do just fine. I will not be useless on this mission, or any other mission. If I can't stay on the ship and be content with simple maintenance, if Eden is going to make me go out here and fight, then I am going to fight!", Hyde spoke with spirit. It felt good to just let those thoughts out every once in a while, however disjointed they could be. Although he'd still prefer to write them down in his journal.

"Or, in this instance, make a parade of light and sparks as we theatrically march to command." Walter liked the plan; it can give him some creative liberties as they went along.

YSS Kaiyo II
Bridge Bunny Hangout

The smol Elysian squeezed her eyes shut for a couple of seconds as another gunship exploded in front of her. She stuck her hands into her grey-paneled uniform's shirt from below, pressing them against her warm stomach. Why was the bridge so cold again?

Sighing, the little Iemochi pulled her hands back to the cool air of the Fuji's bridge, typing onto her console once again with increasingly staccato ticks. One of the gunships had taken several shots directly to its engines, and was hopelessly drifting away, futily blasting away with a lighter defense cannon. For the moment, the L'kor craft seemed to be regrouping, giving a moment of respite for the Kaiyo's on-board crew; only a moment, though.

"I suggest we get that shuttle out as quickly as possible, we might have an opening right now! Kiseki-Hei, I recommend we escort them when they start moving. Either that or make ourselves a much higher priority."

-- Inside the L'kor station/ ship wreckage [IFF not found] --
Inside the wreckage of a ship brought aboard the station, a power armor clad figure began to stir. The man began to pry himself from the dent he had made in the bulkhead, dropping him to a crouch on the ceiling plates. The room was upside down and tilted slightly, which did not help his confusion at unfamiliar surroundings.

"Where am I? Who am I?", he thought aloud as he searched his surroundings, finding a weapons locker nearby. He looked at his armor suited hands and grabbing the secured door, pulled it free before examining it's contents. Inside were two rifles, A RKAR-1A and a Edjia battle rifle. He attached them clumsily to the back of the armor to include it with the other gear attached. His vision flashed before text began scrawling down and across his vision before a HUD overlayed his vision.

"What the.....?" he said looking around as if that would provide an answer as data and readouts registered. This cleared away with the appearance of the words [Geist Neural Implant---ONLINE: 97% functinality]. A three dimensional map of a ship appeared in the corner of the HUD, with most of the ship showing up red.

"That doesn't seem good......Why am I talking to myself?" the man said aloud before smacking the side of his helmet.

The figure examing the room closer had the feeling that it was some sort of equipment room. Finding a large backpack, he loaded the rest of the locker's contents into it before moving to the only door in the room. Examining the frame he found a pull lever with the upside down words "emergency release" printed below it. Pulling it the door hissed parting slightly, which after parting the rest of the way, found a hallway. One end went on with a T-section, and the other was a huge hole with a large chamber visible outside. With tremulous steps he drew closer to the hole, getting a full view of the salvage bay.

Where ever I am, I need a name to identify by in case I find help. Maybe.....Mark? Mark Oaklen, yeah, that'll do. he thought before dropping down to the floor of the bay below.

Bottom of the Station

Eden comm'd into the main away team, "I'm on your tail. Forwarding what I saw about the schematics of the top of the station last time I was up there! I have a VIP I need dead or alive before we leave here. Try to converge on the command location as quickly as possible. Yoshida, before you do, set up a proper LZ for my teleport to you!"

"And Misaki..." Eden calmly told her wife over their own personal link, "I love you too. I'll see you soon."

She continued running up the station, not willing to wait for Yoshida's relay coordinates. The group would be able to see the command center was thirty decks up from their position.

L'kor Station

Jambavan's little jab struck Abart's snake ears a bit too well, making him jump up a bit in response. "D-don't call me that!...." He remembered the first proper evening aboard, and the little party game they held in an attempt to bring the crew closer together. While it seemed to have worked for the most part, the fact that almost all of the crew knew of his mother's pet name for him wasn't something he was happy about. Of course that was entirely his own fault, being the derpy snake he'd always been. Good thing his deeply blushing snoot was covered by the Mindy's faceplate, as this whole ordeal was quite embarrasing to the snek.

The two were getting close to Yoshida's position, passing by several more doors that served various purposes. So far nothing of note was present in them, both a relief as well as a slight letdown for the scavenging reptile. It was then that the position of Team One's next target became aparrent on his HUD.

"Th- thirty decks?..... i just can't get used to how huge these places are... geez."

Nerai kept on doin her work, tapping at her screens here and there, spending her time mostly on looking, calculating, correcting, and whatever else she had to do to keep momma Kaiyo running.
While she was working, the back of her mind wandered a bit, thinking on various things not too relevant.

However, out of nowhere a certain thought hit her. "Hang on..... if Eden-chan and Misaki-tan are out on the station then who is.....?" Right now the Kaiyo was in need of her XO, but with the Shosa and Chui absent, the next rank under those present would be....... Jôto Heiso, the exact rank she herself held.

With a couple more taps, she finished up the thing she was working on at the time, before handing the reigns to her little FARS drone, which had been idly hovering besides her up untill now. "Ferdi, take over regulation of power and mobility systems, and monitor shield/hull integrity directly. Report any anomalies in both primary and secondary system groups immediately".

With that, a flashing light and an audible "beep beep!" set the little hoverdisk into motion, scooting down in fromt of the monitors and going to work, wirelessly. Seeing the work being done on screen without a human hand touching th econtrols was an uncanny sight. At least, if you're not used to the Star Army's highly digitized work environment.

Now that her work was in good proverbial hands, Nerai got up from her seat and slithered her way up the short steps in the multi-decked bridge, plopping down next to Hoshi in the XO seat.
"Theisilis Heisho assuming position of acting XO. Assault teams proceed as instructed."

Shuttle Bay

Misaki was growing impatient, turning her head to bark at the pilot to get ready to launch. Four people in MINDYs had arrived, her escort. After three more minutes, no medics appeared. Her eyes were locked on William's readings before she screamed out of frustration. "All of you get on, now! If we don't leave now we'll have a funeral of a welcoming party."

As soon as the last person stepped inside, the Second shouted out the word she needed to say now. "LAUNCH!" The Raccoon shuttle labored up before moving out into space, turning to make a beeline for the L'Kor station. Misaki was getting worried, her motherly side becoming more and more prominent in her thoughts.

Sacre monitored William's status as he quickly grew worse. She was starting to pick up speed now as they would need to clear the Station's shields before teleporting. "Well don't fall asleep on me William. Keep awake, tell me, why did you join the Army?" She asked, trying to keep him talking. She launched them into space at the same moment that the shuttle did, telling her cannons to take care of any remaining point defense guns. She nodded as her cannons swiveled and fired, trying to look interested as she coordinated the things that were happening at that moment.

"Raccoon, I'm teleporting in three... two... one... go..." She said on a private channel to the shuttle. Clearing the shield on one and then almost instantly activating the overpowered transporter on her back. The world disappeared and resolved into the much more hospitable back interior of the shuttle. "Teleport successful." She said calmly, letting the crew know she was aboard the shuttle.

Even as she said those words, she floated William onto the gurney and tore off the temporary patches that she made for their short trip in space. She glanced around the cargo bay and swore because she was still the only medic. Grabbing fluids, she tore off William's arm armor and deftly stuck the needle in to deliver more blood to him, he was loosing blood fast. <Come on, stay with me.> She thought to herself as she worked.

William forced his eyes to stay slightly open. He chuckled softly, which turned to coughing. "I'm not in the army. I'm a civilian. I am a guard to... her royal highness... princess Aiko." He said through labored breaths.

He tried to keep his eyes open, but they drifted closed again. He slowly felt the pain ebb away till it was completely gone...

He was back at the orphanage, the day he met Rei. He relived the happiness he had felt as his new mother ushered him away from the wretched place.

Then all at once he felt the pain wash over him again and he whimpered softly, too weak to cry out. His eyes flew open wide, scared. His eyes looked around, taking in the new surroundings. He had to be on the shuttle, right?

Mikodimus got the message loud and clear. Kill everything between him and the VIP which he was happy to do. He gave his fallen comrade a quick glance before he slipped off into the station.

He hopped up into the air a few feet and two drones slid under his feet. In a flash he was zipping down hallways like a grand prix bike. As he would round corner the two spare drones would fly high and pull enemy fire. As Miko came blazing around the corner he would fire and slice the distracted foes. Miko called out over open comms. "Anyone looking for the easy route, feel free to follow behind." As the signal cut off the sound of a light laugh was heard.

Miko was in a relaxed state of mind. There are bad people on this station and bad people got to go. It wasn't all that real till he seen one of his crew members go down. He had a set of skills perfect for making the enemies life a living hell.

He ducked behind cover and checked his map. He took notice of a nearby lift. He figured if he was going to go up 30 floors, why not take the express route. He darted over to the lift doors and cut a hole in the closed doors. A second later he was in the lift moving up.

Mark made his way across the chamber which appeared to be the inside of some sort of vessel, which seemed to have been cleared of occupants for some reason. As if to answer the reason why, a explosion rocked the vessel and by extension him as someone somewhere was having a very bad day.

"What was that! Did I wake up in the middle of a battle?" Mark said aloud to no one.

After steadying himself, Mark switched to a run as he headed to what appeared to be an airlock, and as if on instinct, drew the RKAR-1A as he neared the door. The door panel was not in trade language as he knew, or spoke. "Well great, give me an exit labeled with gibberish.", Mark said frustrated from his confusion and disorientation. The strangest thing happened next, he had the urge to reach out and touch the door system, but without actually touching it. Mark began reached towards the door slightly as he wanted to fulfill this urge and the door opened seemingly on its own.

"Very cool indeed.", he said looking at his armor hand again.

Mark followed the umbilical to find a corridor, to which after entering his map flashed and changed to a large space station with various icons spread around the station, with some moving. A particular grouping caught his attention as they were tightly grouped and the other icons that got near would fade and disappear. He was represented by a blue arrow and was show as being about mid station, 12 floors above the fore mentioned group. Doing similar as with the door he willed to reach out to this group and spoke into his comm hoping to be heard, "Hello? I have no idea where I am, or what is going on, but I'm hoping someone out there can help me. If your friendly please respond.....I need help."

YSS Kaiyō II, Deck 5, Shuttle Bay

Kaede had just finished her rounds restocking the DC lockers in Engineering when the call went out over the ship that a medevac shuttle was to leave immediately. With the medical supplies still left on her skid, it seemed the most prudent course of action would be to turn around and rush them to the Raccoons in the bay where they would likely meet up with the medical staff who could better use them. As the junior Logistics soldier aboard, it was also part of Azai-hei's job to make sure that people also got where they needed to go... and in this case her experience in real world flying out under fire would indeed be useful.

Along the way, the orange-paneled Minkan only stopped once to hastily don an AMES suit for protection against decompression, and dutifully prepared and loaded one of the two Raccoon T7 shuttles for the excursion. She even had enough time to load an extra Mindy power armor or two tied down with red straps in the center of the rear compartment, incase an infantryman needed a fresh replacement in the field (or if she herself needed to directly enter the fray).

Kaede gave a silent, practiced salute to the ship's Second Officer when she appeared on deck, offering a faint smile to the Chusa and the entourage that was tempered with a bit of worry about there being none of the medical personnel among them. Sometimes you have to go to war with the army that you have, thought the brown-haired woman to herself, as the 3 minutes quickly expired and the officer gave the command to launch immediately. Azai-hei complied, and sealed the doors and hatches while engaging the already-spooled up engines and heading out into the battlefield.

Space, near YSS Kaiyo

The rescue shuttle had not gotten far away from the gunship's berth when a message came over the comms from Sacre about her engaging her teleportation system to directly move the injured William into the shuttle's bay. "Acknowledged, Sacre-hei," replied the pilot, as she kept the CFS system partially disabled in order to let the "piggyback" through unhindered. As soon as the telltale boom was heard behind her in the passenger compartment, Kaede tapped the control console and brought the shield fully online in combat mode, keeping pace with the Kaiyo and ready to perform defensive maneuvers... until Teien-chusa gave the word to re-dock and/or press on to the L'Kor station.

Hallway

Walter Hyde readily responded back to Eden. "Rodger that, Eden-shosa. We will..." He examined the map and, and by the stars above, there have a long way to go! They can take the elevator, but assuming the L'Kor can't shut down elevators remotely, they aren't as fast as their power armors. "... We'll make our best attempt."

The techie approached to a nearby elevator, wondering where the rest if the team is. Eden should be on her way here, but where's... Erm...

Walter checked his HUD very quickly; Abart'huse and Jambavan. A fast check on their location revealed that they were close by, which begged the question; since when did he pass these guys up, and how did they take so long?

Walter sighed, deciding better to drop it. He turned his orange eyes to the elevator door, wondering if he should call it down here... then, he got a better idea. He seen this in a book once! "I'd hate to suggest anything in the face of authority, but utilizing conventional means, limited to stairs and elevators, would take too much time on our part.", he spoke aloud. "I believe a proper course of action is to break into the elevator shaft, and fly into the command floor directly. You can leave shutting down the elevator to me." The Minkan turned his head to the superior officer. "May I have your permission to establish the shortest route possible, Yoshida-hei?"

Hallway

Acting fast, yoshida nodded to herself and paced around a little space, if only for a moment. "Hm. Allright..." Yoshida took a few steps back after kicking some loose debry and such around out of what was the cleanest spot in the station. It didn't exactly take that much effort. "When you are ready, about... Three meters from my current coordinates, relitive position being away from the kaiyo's current locale. Perfectly safe."

She took a breather and pointed her minigun back and forth, down the hall... And checked on the team each in turn, noting Walter's aproach on the elevator. Well, that would certainly be much faster than smashing their way through each floor. "Hey! While you're over there, you have permission to kill that elevator and give us a straight shot upwards, would you?" After noting Walter's situation, she could hardly pay much heed to the others other than a simple 'group up on me' order, using a crude 3-D model of the station, and some very obnoxious pinging on her own position. While she was at it she decided she may as overlay the positions of the rest of the team, mostly through aproximate knowledge based on their coordinates, and educated guesses.

Inside the Station

With a pop Eden was materialized into existence three meters from Yoshida and her head darted back and forth down the hall while she readied her aether forearm weapons.

"Oh for fu—..." Eden said as she looked at her team's own HUD and noticed Miko was in a lift that had jammed after rising two meters. She told the chef, "Shimmy your way out of there and work on the elevator with us. If you need help getting out, call for someone in the hangars."

She was running towards where Walter was working the elevator and called out to him just as she arrived next to him, "What is your prepared course of action?"

Shuttle

While William was quite literally dying even with the first aid medical attention, the shuttle rumbled a moment in the same way it had on Komorebi the first time they had been there. Those that had been on the planet would know, but Saki was the one that would remember best, having done the paperwork afterwards about the way the aether engines of that shuttle were drained temporarily until some heavy tinkering by Anastasia Barlow, head technician, solved the problem.

"Happy to have you with us. I want you to relay to me as much information about the away team while I monitor SOFT and Eden's HUD and stats. Pilot! I want us moving as quickly as we can!" In truth, everyone on the ship had on AMES and were buckled in for the wild ride Kyoi was taking them on. Iemochi-heisho, shoot at will!"

That One Part In The Hallway With A Elevator

"The simple answer would be 'technician work', Eden-shosa.", Walter replied to his superior superior. The technician thrusted his hybrid weapon into the elevator door, and had cut out a opening big enough for a bear to squeeze through. Given the metals utilized in elevator construction, usually light and rust-resistant materials, these are some of the easiest metals to cut with a Aether Sabre Rifle. He promptly kicked the decimated barrier down, the doors falling down the elevator shaft with the sounds of metal-on-metal.

"It's faster for us to fly up a shaft, especially with no elevator...", he began. He examined the interior of the elevator shaft; fairly clean and industrial, rails on either side, humming
... Magnetic elevator. "Cutting the door down was just the beginning!" Walter Hyde floated inside, and he unleashed the same Aether-fueled, calculated fury that was used to bring down a gunship. He lacked any form or technique, but the giant of a Minkan didn't just slash everything he saw, either. Walter chopped blocks out of the thick rails at the sides, carved out metallic panels, cleaved cable after cable, coil after coil. Every strike was intentional, akin to a quiet surgeon using his tools to cut the decay away.

The technician quickly retreated from the elevator shaft, standing by Eden's side, waiting. "Magentically powered elevators, like most electrical systems, have parallel circuitry involved. While I can't shut down the elevator in this manner, I -" Before he could finish, a large, mundane capsule flew past the two of them, proceeding to rocket down the elevator shaft.

"... That would be a elevator without any magnetism to propel it up or down." Walter peaked over the edge, and then back to Eden. "... Can't shut down the whole elevator in this way, but at least we won't be flattened by a surprise elevator, Shosa. Once we're grouped up, we can take this up to the command floor."

Miko was tapping his foot as the call came in from Eden. "Yes dear" he said to himself with a laugh. It only took him a moment to decide what needs to be done. If they were going to jam the lifts, then he would just have to make his own.

Miko took from his belt some of the T31PE and put it on both sides of the walls. As he was rigging the sides with EX the drones were cutting a hole in the floor. Since the lift had moved what seemed to be a short distance it would be a quick leap back out of the lift. As he finished the last of his work the sound of crashing metal was heard as a large slab of steel dropped out of the floor. The metal plate crashed against the walls as it fell to the bottom.

The 4 drones bolted out of the lift and back into the hallway. Any enemy foolish enough to try and guard the opening would have been met with heavy drone fire. After a moment and the all clear was given, Miko hopped down the hole grabbing the side and tossing himself back into the hallway.

Miko grinned as he moved out of in front of the elevator door he had cut open. "Going down" he said with a maniacal laugh. A moment later the sound of shattering metal is heard as the explosives rip into the metal lift. A fireball spit back into the hallway as the burning turbo lift flashed by the opening.

He looked over to Eden. "Got it boss, shaft is clear of the blockage." He said all happy with himself.

Mark heard a loud thundering crash followed by a roaring boom after something large and metallic screamed by heading down in the nearby elevator shaft startling him slightly.

"What the shiz was that!?", he uttered loudly as he walked over to the door to put his helmeted head against it, hoping the helmet's enhanced audio would pick something up. He heard the settling of debris below, and the echos of voices. They were faint, but there.

Mark stepped back and looked at his gear for a tool, where he would notice something built into his gauntlets, a pair of emitters of some sort with what looked like handles on the underside of the gauntlets. His curiosity peeked, he hit what looked like the method of activation causing the handles to flip into his waiting hands, and the emitters to pop out and move forwards before projecting twin heat blades of red from each gauntlet. The blades were sword length and pierced the door, causing Mark to slowly look down at them for a moment with a "Woah."

Mark withdrew the blades from the door before cutting it out of the frame to kick it into the shaft below. Since he was wearing a backpack he couldn't use his thrusters, so the blades posed an alternate use. Jumping to the side wall, he buried the blades of his left arm in the wall to slow his slide down the wall, only jumping to the other wall when he started to slow too much. His armored boot against the wall and the heat blades buried in it trailed sparks as he descended with a loud shreak as the heated metal tore on the way down. Mark was dropping several decks withing moments, and slowed himself greatly on his next wall switch as he saw two figures in an open door. Stopping a few feet above them, "Hi......I um, I'm kinda lost. And I don't even know where we are. Don't suppose you guys know a way out?"

"With pleasure, Chusa!" The mother-to-be began to rapidly retag the various gunships, focusing the larger mass guns on each target in order of their new identifications; the smol's honed skill and MEGAMI's assisting presence created a terrifying fireworks show through the cosmos together, crippling engines and detonating munitions stores and destabilizing aether generators throughout the unfortunate gunships. Arbles pouted in frustration when the shuttle seemed to stop working, concerned at their vulnerability-from what she could tell, the gunships swarming about were comparable to Plumerias, or at least they had energy signatures of that level.

Same Hallway, Same Elevator, Same Shenanigans

Even Walter Hyde can't deny his surprise; just how many people are coming down the elevators?! And where are the other guys?! No, one moment at a time, Walter Hyde., he thought to himself. First, this new face has to be greeted with caution.

"We are soldiers of Star Army of Yamatai; we were dispatched to this establishment to destroy it.", the tall Minkan swiftly explained. "We have a ship of our own, but..." Walter looked at Eden, then back at the new stranger. "There... could be other ships?" If he were honest with himself, Walter would think that this fellow won't make it to the hangars in time to hitch a ride. Even then, this stranger couldn't be on the side of the enemy; who would ask the invader instructions in his own base?

The techie turned back, looking at Eden and Yoshida, and then back at the stranger. "... Could you get yourself out of that shaft, first of all? We were going to use that."

L'Kor Station

Jamba chuckled at Abart's reaction, the big grey lump's laughter booming down the hallway. "Sorry 'Bart, I couldn't help myself." he apologised, still shaking his head from the laughter. He had to go down on all fours as soon as they had left the hangar, as always there wasn't enough clearance. Still, this way his Array Cannons' resting position was now forwards facing so it was all swings and roundabouts.

Ersus wasn't particularly fussed about the situation, the experienced leadership of the Kaiyo was making it a cruise getting to where they needed to be. His mind was cast to the SOFT team and the bear wondered how they were doing deep behind the enemy lines.
