Hallway

Sacre was going to be the last into the room, she was going to check the blindspots and help with any enemies that were too stubborn to die. She could feel the rush and excitement in Karasawa's words. They resonated with her and she wanted to be up there hacking away with her saber, but she tempered herself. If either of the idiots got themselves hurt, it was going to be her job to put them back together. It was a thankless job, but someone had to do it.

Hallway > Room with Console

Miko followed up behind Karasawa watching as she wrecked everything in front of her. Miko thought to himself, oh gosh this woman knows how to fight. As her gatling gun started to light up the wall, he looked at one of the drones floating next to him. It was a mutual understanding between them that despite there being a perfectly good door to walk through, we would make our own door. He made a mental note to talk with her more when back on the ship cause he was now curious to learn more about her.

Next date aside for now, Miko was at the ready to burst into the room and secure a Console.

Yoshida herself took a look around. Having largely cleared the hanger of active threats she took a knee, and reflected on the situation. It seemed like she'd have free reign of the station, for a time. But without escape routes they would be done. "Allright, assuming that the ships have largely left the station at this stage, unless somone can say otherwise that is- We should be fine to move in and try to attract attention if your hanger is clear. If you do this try and keep an escape route open, but even without one of your own we should be able to meet up and force our way back out, or even just teleport away once things get heated. Make sure not to leave any unsecured rooms behind you, you see a door you bust it down or seal it up! You never know what's inside!" She said this from previous experience in simulations- breach and clear tactics were taught to her quite forcefully as she herself found she didn't like getting shot in the back after passing a room by.

Yoshida took up her own aether gattling gun and moved deeper, towards the hallways. But with caution, as she checked the hanger around them to ensure it bore no signs of life before moving on, and preferabely no additional entrances besides the way outside. "Ah, this goes without saying but, don't go alone!" She said as she gestured for William to follow. "Nice fight by the way." And thus, she happily tip-toe skipped her way deeper into enemy territory, her tail swishing like a fly swatter.

Hangar 5

Miles opened fire with his rifle on the ships engines, he was no engineer however and was shooting at random hoping he'd hit something important within them. Watching as Walter tore his way into the ship Miles hoped that he'd be able to reach the pilot and stop the ship that way, he wasn't sure how successful his efforts outside would be, but in the spirit of the battle he didn't let up and tried concentrating his fire in a small area on one engine to do as much damage as he could.

"Hyde-hei, you're the expert with this stuff, what part of the engines should i shoot for. So far I've managed to damage one just through repeated hits, if there's a better spot I'd love to know about it." The ship was nearing the hangar entrance and Miles could see it was preparing for... something he didn't really know what but assumed it would end badly for him if he let it escape after being ordered not to.

Hangar 4

William took a knee as he assessed his armor. He only took a few hits to his shields, and his swords were all still working at 100%. He stood again and moved to Yoshia as she was giving out her orders.

As she complimented him, he gave a half smile behind his helmet and nodded. "Same to you. Now let's finish this." He said following behind her, his swords drawn and ready for whatever lay beyond.

Gunship

Walter was happy to explain once he mowed down the shellshocked L'Kor with absurd amounts of energy blasts he fired. He tapped into the comms, and told Miles the (not very) complicated strategy.

"The plan is fairly straight-forward." On cue, he sent all six of his NSBs down to the cockpit area, while he goes in the opposite direction to where Engineering probably is. "I send some bots over to the cockpit while I go into Engineering." Walter infiltrated into the confined space that held the Aether Reactor via cutting his way in. "From there, the NSBs will leave the gunship vacant, and I can destabilize the reactor and quickly get out. The epitome of hit-and-run! Yoshida gave orders to move deeper into the station, so you go ahead without me! I'll catch up in a little bit!"

The techie chopped the conduits, pierced the coolant, ripped the control panel apart, and watched the room grow from dim to a urgent red. Meanwhile, the six NSBs went into the cockpit and brutally subdued the L'Kor pilot. The gunship began to pick up speed, its main thrusters sputtered and brightened as it did so.

Apologies if this is a bit automatic, though I did talk to Ame about this last night, and she was alright with it!

YSS Kaiyo II
Bridge

Arbles the smol Elysian took a look at the formation the enemy ships were assembling in. She suppressed a chuckle with a forced frown, speaking quietly, "Firing lines, what is this, a movie?"

As the little Elysian set off the biggest fireworks display in the star system she spoke more loudly, "Kiseki-Hei, the cone firing mode for the M-W-A is risky, as you might damage the station with our soldiers inside, but it could be very helpful in cleaning this trash up."

Even as the line of smaller starships was forming together, streaks of aether and antimatter-charged hypervelocity rounds swept towards them all, the powerful weapons of the Fuji-class starship starting at one side of the line while drifting steadily across it-taking the targets out one by one if they didn't break formation or evade successfully.

“Hey, Elysia used the same tactic in all their wars.” Kyoi pointed out, then nipped her tongue a little.

Regardless, the fact the enemy spread themselves into a firing line meant that they had statistically the highest amount of guns possible trained on them, and their MWA’s conical effects were minimized. On the ground it would be trivial to deal with. In space...

The Kaiyo suddenly lurched to the side, strafing around the ships. If they were maximizing power via formation, then the solution was to render the formation ineffective. Make it as much of a one-on-one fight as you could. Pick them off from there.

The smol Elysian tensed her lips for a moment. She spoke again, "And they were surprised when they lost." As the Kaiyo II dashed about, Arbles dropped the orderly, methodical assault down the line to fire at targets seemingly randomly. Grouping a mass driver to an aether Cannon, the Elysian fired consistent double-taps at the enemy gunships to harass the formation and encourage confusion-if everybody is at risk of being hit at the same time, then there's no way to rally.

Hangar 5

Miles watched the visible effect Walter's meddling was having from outside the gunship and decided it best to move around the side, away from the engines. "Whatever you're doing in there it's doing, something, but I thought we were stopping it not helping it go faster. As for leaving you behind I don't think I can do that, you're in a dangerous position and I'm the closest medic. As compromise I'll wait by the entrance and keep the position secured till you're done."

Miles accelerated away from the ship and moved towards the doorway at the far side of the hangar firing at a L'Kor who had just emerged from it hitting him multiple times in the chest before ramming him into the wall with a well placed armored foot to its face. This helped Miles to slow down and efficiently dispatched the enemy, he took up his position just inside the hall and managed to pick up on the distant sounds coming from hangar three as Miko and Karasawa smashed their way through the station.

“You’re right.” Kyoi told her smol gunnery...friend? Maybe? She didn’t know. “Let’s hope someone over there is fixing up their military strategy. I bet some really confident, smart, cool, and kind Patrician is doing it all alone...”

Half her mind wandered off on that topic as her tail swished behind her in idle thought, her ears waggling now and again as she entertained herself with her thoughts. However, the mental partition that was working on piloting was putting out good work. The ship kept making sure Arble had a good angle on the enemy, making it so before every firing angle readjustment the Kaiyo performed, the gunnery officer could fire off a few shots at the line. Kyoi took the chance to fire a burst from the Main Weapons Array, just to make sure they stayed in line.

Komorebi Station
Hangar 1

With Abart'Huse taking out the remaining L'Kor that had rallied against Jamba, the bear clapped him on the back heartily. "Good work Deadeye." the bear jested, thudding down onto all fours again. With that, Ersus padded over to the exit to the Hangar, mechanical claws digging into the bay floor, effectively becoming an artillery piece.

The enemy ships wouldn't expect a pincer maneuver between the Kaiyo II and their own station. The generator mounted on the bear's back began spinning up, his leg capacitors ready to be used alongside his man reactor.

Lights began blinking on across the dual aether cannons the Kodian bore, his HUD targeting the craft closest to the station. Suddenly, the familiar - usually ship-based - cracking sound filled the bay, Aether lightning lancing forth from the bear howitzer towards the enemy.

Gunship ---> Hangar 5

"I'll make it quick, then!", Walter responded in kind, finishing his carnage with a final stroke of the blade! Engineering was hissing, sparking, spewing plasma all over the place, the lights glowing blood-red. The Minkan flew straight out from where he came in, his NSBs rendezvousing with their owner shortly afterwards.

Walter flew up to Miles, his bravado still lingering like low tide on the beach. "Productive destruction of the enemy is more enchanting than I have given it credit for. I still prefer fixing machines rather than..." The engineer looked at the sputtering, fidgeting, light-flashing, wobbly, and unnervingly unstable gunship before them. "... Horrifically disassembling them to oblivion."

On cue, the gunship rocketed forward in a burst of unstable Aether energy, bumping crates and the wall as it flew out the hangar. It just occurred to Walter that there is a chance that the unstable-gunship-turned-highly-explosive-warhead could be problematic for those caught in its inevitable explosive demise. "... Let's just hope it explodes far away from here.", he said with some degree of worry. He turns, and heads deeper into the station. "Come on! Let us stay true to Yoshida-hei's plan of action, and hope for as little terrible consequences as possible!"

Station

As Miko burst into the room with a console, two unarmored L'Kor with pistols shot at him. While that happened, a fiery death to the gunship could be seen from many of the open hangars as the plan of action Miles and Walter had come up with was executed to the most brilliant of ends. The black and red, orangish yellow explosion lit the Kodian's armor as he padded along and licked the ex-NMX armor or the samurai apprentice before blowing outward and away. To Matsuvo, an unarmored L'Kor seemed to peek out of hiding ten feet from him at the same time as two power armor clas L'Kor came in and pointed towards the opposite door to one another.

Twenty ships were out of the station by this time and they were giving Kaiyo chase. and began shooting out their own aether weaponry as they zoomed in close.

The shield on his arm took the shots with a smile as he walked in. His drones blasted the two L'Kor into tomorrow quickly. He moved past Karasawa and gave her a little check against her hip with a smile.

He sat at the console and started to look it over. He was trying to find a map and general information about this station. Any information he couldn't understand he would request support from command.

Hangar 5
Hallway

Miles watched the explosion of the gunship, a faint grin spreading across his face at the destruction that he and Walter had managed to create although he thought that with the damage the shields sustained his SDMMs may not have been entirely necessary. "Stupid, should have reacted faster" he said under his breath to himself as his features returned to a state of indifference.

"Hyde-Hei, we should move up to join the rest of the crew and help shut this thing down, and provided I don't die and forget what happened drinks are on me when we get out of this mess." Miles spoke without facing his companion before rocketing down the hall towards the source of noise where Miko had breached the control room.

Pausing at the entrance to Hangar 4 Miles looked in to see the aftermath of William's killing spree, taking this brief opportunity of downtime as it happened Miles took a good look at the medical details provided to his HUD from every other member. Seeing as though he hadn't been alerted he knew there was no serious injuries sustained anywhere, yet, his check confirmed this with none of the crew having sustained major injury yet.

Hangar 2

As everyone started to split up, Matsuvo stood by the fortifications, thinking on what was going on. With a sudden outburst, he spoke to everyone over the radio.

"Everyone, splitting up like this and exploring is a bad idea! We're stronger together, and we need to make the enemy come to us, we need to draw them away from the SOFT team, not let them wait for us to come to them. We need to lure the enemy troops back to a position where we can tie them down and distract them. If everyone does a fighting retreat back to hangar 2, the fortifications here should let us do just that."

He sent out a map of the station, with routes back from everyone else's positions, constructed from the shared sensor readings of each suit.

Station

As William stepped forward into the compartment, he was it by the blast wave his teammates had caused. He attempted to duck out of the way but was too late. The blast wave sent William flying backwards. The explosion overloaded William’s shields and he hit the ground hard. He gasped for air as stars began swimming across his vision.

As he attempted to control his breathing, he saw to his horror a L’kor step over his prone body. It was one of the L’kor from earlier, the one that he had sent flying into a parked fighter!

In that moment, time slowed as the L’kor raised its rifle to William’s abdomen. He couldn’t move… he tried to scream but there was no air in his lungs. The barrel was pressed into his Upper stomach and it pulled the trigger.

The first several rounds round smacked against the armor, the second set dented the armor, and the final rounds of the salvo pierced his abdomen and slammed through his stomach and back.

Pain lanced through William’s body, and with a sharp intake of breath… William unleased a blood curdling scream.

Station

The map that popped up on everyone's HUD from Matsuvo was a rough outline of what Miko was seeing in more detail. The problem for Miko is that he was seeing the bottom of the station, not was located in the top of it. He would have to keep trying to get into the system to get a clear picture of the part of the station under the top lip where they were currently located. Klaxons on the station were blaring and what he was seeing on the screen was surrounded by flashing symbols and shapes.

Hoshi looked to Saki, saying sternly, "Either validate what Shinomori-hei has said or don't, but tell the team what they need to do, Teien-Taii." She then looked at t he screen that showed the away team's stats and added, "You've got one down! What is he even...!"

YSS Kaiyō II, Deck 4, Fabrication Bay

As the Fuji-class gunship arced and weaved through space, its Aether reactor's heartbeat soon grew from a hum to a fast crescendo from the increased power draw of the engines and firing the main shock array... such undeniable sounds of war soon pierced the imposed veil of silence around one Azai Kaede, as she desperately tried to tune them out and focus on her important fabrication work within the bay's sealed construction chambers. Distractions would mean errors in the femtomachine matrix matching the blueprint for the items she was creating, and she abhorred such defects slowing down the process' efficiency and consequently her own zen-like enjoyment of playing with the building blocks of matter itself...

A true artist of nano-scale construction, the brown haired Joto Hei knew when she received her new orders that things would be difficult aboard the Kaiyo II... this was certainly not the comfort of the thankfully very stationary Leo Star Fortress. It was also a far cry from the YSS Sakishima she had served on briefly, a little escort destroyer that -- while certainly a thrill ride in its own ways -- had a certain personal coziness about it that she felt lacking in the bowels of this nearly cruiser-sized vessel. Since arriving on the last shuttle some time ago she had mostly kept to herself and dutifully executed her logistics posting's tasks, just another face in the crowd of enlisted crewmembers.... and for Kaede, this was certainly fine by her. Serving under Murakami-juni was enough for her, as the two saw very much eye-to-eye about how to care for the needs of the vessel... they made sure the crew was never lacking for anything equipment-wise.

The gentle glow reflected off the orange-paneled Minkan's glasses and lit up her beige colored face, thin lips forming a small smile when the process of creating the next patch of hull patches was soon complete. She pulled them out of sealed environment like a baker would a fresh loaf of bread, and carefully loaded them to the skid that was occupied with other materials for the damage control lockers, as well as medical supplies for the doctors to treat the wounded soldiers that would soon be pouring in. Yes, the once ex-UOC Nekovalkyrja long ago chose to fight her wars in this strange way -- for sometimes... when all is destruction... the most rebellious act... is choosing to create!

Taking a deep breath in to leave her hyper-focused state, the small and unassuming Kaede refocused her plain, brown almond eyes and fixed her half-rim glasses with a practiced poke of her dainty finger. Without more than a knowing nod to her fellow Neko in engineering section nearby, she soon pushed the cargo skid out into the Deck 4 hallways to make her rounds, not unlike a housekeeper in a giant mansion... a calm bubble amidst the din of battle growing only louder outside.
