RP: YSS Kaiyō Mission Roku: Genjitsu Tōhi pt. I

Orion, who had already been set on top of the kaiyo to start sniping the enemy, got pushed off when the ship moved off.

"Oh come on..."

He quickly snapped back, flying over to the now in movement kaiyo, catching up to the ship, and setting down on the hull, getting into a good position, and finally firing against his outlined bomber, getting a couple of shots of said ship.

It took a moment for Mat to react to the arrival of the enemy ships, but he soon opened fire upon the easiest target for him. He pumped Aether fire from his saber-rifle and gauss rounds from his shoulder mounted cannon into the red bomber.

Then he noticed that Meissa seemed distracted, and she didn't seem to notice a missile hurtling towards her. Before he knew what he was doing, he threw himself in front of her, spraying fire from his rifle at it before grumbling when it didn't go down, and activated the saber mode of his saber rifle, and looped around the missile, slicing a helix along its sides before speeding away in an arc back towards the infantry group.

"Whoa, close one. Thanks hun." Meissa mumbled as she ducked under Mat. "Where'd you learn that? You haven't been watching me during my training sessions, have you?"

The bomber currently outlined in red also found out what it meant to be focused on by an inordinate amount of Aether Sabers firing on it. Its hull plates were smoldering, and the pilot seemed to be having trouble with the controls. Whatever it was, it was down.

"Next target." She outlined the next bomber in red -- the one that just tried to launch a missile run on her. It was still very out of position, perfect for a lot of Aether Sabers to get to work on.

Of course it had been a trap. It was always a trap. There were enemies to fight, a mothership to protect and Amanozako wondered exactly why she was out in space helping defend these people again. She sent a volley of impaler fire at an enemy, then swing her Reaper around, gunning her engines and driving for William, the other Reaper armored solider, who was also new to power armor combat. He was also, like herself, not able to be backed up for a new body in case of death.

"Stick with me, kid. I can show you some tricks with that suit, if you need" she said as she dropped in beside the young swordsman.

"Yo?- Ahah." Royama snorted, though she actually seemed genuinely amused, "Likely very soon, waiting on word back from the Shosa before I take even a single step outside this ship. Act too early and we very well could screw things up, or something along those lines." The medic seemed ready to go herself, but not altogether nervous, at least not through her body language, if anything she just looked prepared- like a cat poised to pounce!

"How experienced with EVA combat are you?" She asked curiously, if only to keep the room from getting quiet.

William nodded as Hanna spoke. "Copy that Ms. Hanna." He replied as he continued to harass the enemy bomber. He kept firing his cannons at the enemy, the bomber's shields shimmering under the onslaught of William's plasma cannons.

As he fired, he saw a friendly approaching at high speed. "Yes please Ms. Amanozako." He admitted. "I don't know much about this suit, beyond the basics." He added, looking over to the other Reaper armor. He felt a bit more confidant with Amanozako around.

The Mindy-clad Separa replied, pleased to have a bit of company while they wait.
"Alright, best not to get ahead of ourselves..."

Royama's question about his EVA experience came rather unexpected, making him a tad embarrassed.
"W-well....not a whole lot outside of basic training. And if i'm honest....it isn't my favourite thing to do....just doesn't feel right."
He unintentionally tensed up his tail, coiling a bit tighter around itself on the floor. "And you?"

"Plenty of times, more than I'd like really. It's hard to fix people in space." Actually, it was more or less not going to happen. If someone got hurt in space, they generally stayed that way until they could be brought back into somewhere with a proper atmosphere, and sometimes it was just better to have a backup. Suit ruptures were no laughing matter, but she was going to mention that, "I don't particularly enjoy it myself either, so don't feel alone in that. You'll probably get used to it, eventually. As long as you focus on your job, follow orders, and pay attention, you'll be fine. Don't get too caught up about the fact you're in space, but don't forget it either."

"Their bow and port sides of their shields are weakened and what I can only guess as being their FTL drives have been hit!" Deio Asuka said aloud to the bridge. "Those positron accelerator cannons really did a number! Boss is antagonizing the— Oh, Shosa!" Asuka looked with her blue eyes to Eden and asked telepathically in a split second, "How was it? Everything okay?"

"More than okay, my friend," Eden replied in the same vein. "You'll meet her soon enough. Her name is Ki—" She was cut off by the sudden onslaught of enemy fire coming in on the view screen. She took up position at her chair and plugged in with SPINE to regain control of the ship, letting the pilot, comms operator, and weapons operator do their jobs while she keyed into the sensors and mission operators' stations.

"Shan-hei, I want you to decimate their ships! Boss, doing good so far, knock out as many enemy bombers as you can! Nashira-hei! Make sure everyone continues to work together! Kawazoe-hei, try your best to open a line with them. I want to know who or what we're working with! Those in the PA bay, deploy!"

The first few bomber that everyone had been focusing their attention on had gone down. The first by way of a large plume of smoke from the cockpit before pieces of the bomber flew in every direction followed by a burst of blue and silver as their power source completely blew. The next started spinning recklessly as the pilot lost control of the craft, hurt beyond recognition as an actual threat. The bomber Hanna and William had been double teaming made a loop de loop to get Hanna off of it, but instead Hanna remained latched on via her implanted saber. Air hissed out of the cockpit and the bomber soon began flying erratically, spinning and bouncing about. The ones boss had broken apart with the ship's weaponry blew to bits in the same silvery blue explosion as the first to be destroyed.

Now, it was time to get the one Meissa had outlined in red that had just tried to attack her, which had been slowed by Mat. Leeta and Muyomi antagonized them with their shoulder mounted weaponry to the point where the bomber began flying towards the pair, ready to get them back for their heavy hits on it.

"Get ready to cut it down!" Leeta Aoi called to the team.

"Hai!" The miniature weapons operator made it her personal priority to remove the cruisers from play, changing up the refiring of the ship's rail cannons to a ripple fire rather than the singular burst to steadily tear apart the first major target. With the friendly armors finally in a relatively less unsafe position, the Aether array taking up the nose of the Kaiyo managed to discharge a terrifying beam of energy towards the unfortunate enemy's heart as Shan changed her priority towards the next in line. "Boss, take the turbo cannons!" She called out to MEGAMI as she dedicated more of herself to the new loadout and the annoyingly persistant enemies.

"Understood, Shan-hei," Boss said as she took control of the turbo cannons and began blasting the enemy cruisers with as much firepower as was possible while retaining the ability to allow the pilot ability to maneuver about without hitting the power armored comrades floating and flying in space around them.

The aetheric shock array that discharged from the front of the Kaiyo spread in shimmering pink spread from the ship and hit the cruiser Shan was aiming for in an instant.

"They're shields are torn up, they're near destruction!" Deio Asuka nearly shouted.

"Hit them with all we've got, Shan-hei!" Teien Eden called from her position at command.

"Already on it! This is what they get for slaughtering innocents!" As the ship bobbed and weaved around, the pink blob occupying the weaponry operation station shifted semi-randomly and navigated about her given information to decimate any weaknesses she could see, especially ones that might have been pointed out by Eden or Kyoi. The ripple fire, although less immediately impressive than the initial burst from what seemed like minutes ago, was able to keep a steady attack against the remaining cruisers in between bursts of aether from the ship's prow. Anything that tried to get behind her, needed to very quickly change its location or struggle against the graviton projection Shan just barely managed to remember had more uses than towing.

"They're sending torps our way, again! Two cruisers are sending them this time!" Asuka relayed to the bridge, but it was too late. The torpedoes made contact with the Kaiyo and Asuka spoke out again after the ship had rocked back and forth, "Our shields have gone down to 60% of their capacity!"

At that moment, a bomber was caught like a fly in a net by the graviton beam projector in the back of the Kaiyo.

"Shoot them down, Shan!" Teien said.

"Hai!" The unfortunate victim, incapable of evasion, had just enough time to look up before a glowing bolt of aether slammed directly through their cockpit. Leaning forward in her chair slightly, the angel took a very brief pause to reassert her situational awareness-those torps should have been easy to spot, and yet she had missed them.

"Another round of torpedoes!" Asuka said aloud.

"Shan?" Eden nearly yelled as she gripped her seat.

"They won't get us this time!" Wreslting the control back from Megami momentarily in terms of the small turrets which covered the Kaiyo like a three-dimensional paint job, Shan denied the torpedoes their mark before sending another blast of aether from the shock array directly into the breached hull of the initial target, obliterating it entirely in a brilliant, very short lived, miniature star.

Eden exclaimed proudly, "Got them! Good work, now for the others..."

Just then, Asuka said quickly, "Antimatter weapons have been sho—" She couldn't continue as she was interrupted by the shock of the enemy fire hitting the Kaiyo in a severe blast that shook the ship and made Airi, Eden, and Asuka have to engage gravity manipulation to not fall from their chairs.

Unfortunately for the bridge's resident angel, not everyone around had their own little gravitational field to keep them nice and secure in their seats. This was very quickly demonstrated with a disheartening CLANG as Shan's head collided powerfully with her monitor, almost instantly incapacitating her before her body ungracefully slumped to the floor, unmoving save for as a reaction to Kyoi's work.

"I need a green or teal panel to the bridge at once!" Eden said to Boss. She jumped from her chair and went to Arbitrated before she checked for a pulse and found one.

William watched as Hanna rode the enemy bomber, until it flew off in an uncontrolled spin. "William and Hanna, splash one." The young student replied. He then turned and cursed as another torpedo got through, while he was dealing with the bomber. He yelled in anger as the torpedo stuck the ship. "Amanozako... help me kill that damn bomber." He growled angrily.

He turned towards the last bomber marked for death and fired his thrusters, taking off towards the enemy. As he approached he let fly several salvos from his forearm cannons. "William, engaging."

Well. Things took a turn, didn't they?

Already Meissa was focused on trying to fix the problem here. Both Hanna and William were engaging targets. The Infantry was busy mowing down one bomber after another.

"We need support, now." Meissa said over comms. "Anyone who hasn't deployed and is ready, come in with some heavy guns."

That would help them take down bombers faster. Now to give Hanna and William support.

"Leeta, support William with your drones." Meissa instructed, as she sent her own to support Hanna, half harassing the bomber itself while the other half became Hanna's PD drones, shooting down any daring shots to get the Infantry person off.

Meissa, in the meantime, leveled her gun with the bomber, coming in for another strafing run.

"Infantry, fire on target, now!"

YSS Kaiyo - Bridge

Of course. Random anomalies no one could prevent.

Kyoi finally gritted her teeth a little. Finally, some sort of facial reaction from the foxlike Neko. Not a good one, either.

"Assuming control of Main Weapons Array, Eden." Kyoi growled. She wasn't the very best at using the Main Weapons Array herself, but it would have to do.

Kyoi hit the burners on the CFS, causing it to strafe sideways and back, narrowly dodging a torpedo or two. She mumbled something about needing PD back on as the ship swung around.

There. There's the angle.

"Firing array."

The brilliant flashes of Aether filled space as Kyoi shot the main gun right at a cruiser, while trying to glance the edge of a bomber with the array's lethal barrage of light.

The gattling cannon wielding neko took a breather, for just a moment, and readjusted her aim to focus on miessa's target, and took off to match the bomber's velocity, so that she wouldn't need to worry about compensating for her aim to lead the bomber because it was goign faster than her, or aiming behind it because she was going faster than it. Physics could be weird sometimes, but it often led to handy tricks like this to apply to situations a neko in space would actually have to deal with, like your own velocity affecting that of your projectiles.

"Providing assistance now! I'll slag him to nothing!" The neko's voice sounded over the airwaves, appearing to be enthuesiastic. Perhaps to cover up her newly found insecure feelings that came from battling in space, and the not so great time she's been having lately.

Hanna's aether saber connected with the cockpit viewport, air hissing out as her blade shattered the window. She fired a few few pulses into the cockpit, hoping to finish the pilot off, but the shots were likely inaccurate as the bomber flew erratically and initiated a death spiral

She had to get off before the bomber crashed into something, but the aether saber was trapping her on the hull of the craft. Hanna attempted to push at the hull with her free hand, however, she failed to find leverage, and could not generate enough power to free herself. In desperation, she gripped the aether beam rifle with both hands and pushed her legs onto the hull, pulling the rifle out with the combined strength of her legs and arms.

In a quick motion, she turned herself around and flew away from the careening bomber and back towards the infantry team, bringing her rifle up to target the next red-outlined bomber.

"Thanks.....i'll try..."

Standing next to the much more experienced medic was kinda reassuring. Though that feeling didn't last long, as the call to delploy came not too much later. "Welp, this is it....."

With a loud, audible gulp, he slithered forward alongside the rest, Thrusters on his back and along his tail's spine flarng up to propell the large serpentine body forward. The shift from the Kaiyo's artificial gravity to true 0G was tricky to deal with, but with a bit of flailing he soon found his balance, swiftly making his way towards the position of the others, weapons primed and ready.

"Support incoming, Nashira-hei. Sorry for the delay."

Positioning him self more to the side, both to spread out the formation and cover as much area as possible, the Separa quickly trained his gauss on the currently designated bomber, and letting off a three round burst ahead of it, hopefully having lead the shots enough.

The fight was breaking down into utter chaos. Amanozako dropped in on William's right hand side, her impaler rifle brought to bear, snapping off shots at several enemies that got within her arc of fire.

"On it" she said in response to his request for aid. The bomber was a serious thread to the entire team, along with the ship it's self. Amanozako zeroed in her aim on the bomber and squeezed her trigger, sending volley after volley of scalar energy burning across space from her rifle, into the bomber.

Anna was in the back of the craft, sleeping on one of the luxurious beds. Anne was also sleeping, despite her job to be awake and alert, in case the jump to where the YSS Kaiyo was went badly, but luckily it was smooth so far. Despite Anna's dream was not luxurious like her bed, instead she was having a nightmare of the day her one wing was torn off.

Anna was face-down in the dirt, squirming to get up as a feline-like animal stood on her back, clawing it at the same time, with one of the swipes ripping her left wing off. As it was torn off, Anna let out a high-pitched scream and filled with adrenaline. This was usually where she is able to turn around and escape, but this time the animal that was hurting her simply made noises, but not a roar or a growl, more like a gunshot.

Anna breathed heavily as she woke up, automatically sitting straight up, looking out the front windows to see that they were at their destination. But it was not only Kaiyo waiting for them, they were under attack. "Get up." She said, roughly hitting Anne on one of her four arms, with Anne jerking up, surprised at what she saw outside. Directly in front of them was the obvious Kaiyo, fighting against multiple enemy ships. Anna jumped into one of the seats in the cockpit and barked orders towards Anna. "Get communi-" Anna started to say, but was interrupted by the terrifying site of an enemy ship headed right towards them, which had already fired several torpedoes.

Anna took a deep breath as her sister, Anne, took evasive maneuvers, seemingly dodging the last torpedo by mere inches. Once they safely dodged the torpedoes, Anna took control of the ship while Anne tried to establish communications with the YSS Kaiyo. "YSS Kaiyo, this is I'ee Sphere-2612 holding Ambassado-" Anne said, grabbing onto the side of her chair as Anna roughly maneuvered the ship, then continuing. "Holding Ambassador Anna Ee'ith. We request immediate permission to board." She finished as she once again took over steering of the ship, with the Bomber still following them, luckily continuing to miss.

YSS Kaiyō
Mission Ops/Communications

It wasn't too much to say that the Kaiyo was dealing with more then it could handle at the moment, though Riku wasn't saying much at all as he was now tasked with orders of which he'd already been following through on his own volition. There was little time to complain as he tasked MEGAMI with the arduous and repetitive action of continuously trying to get in contact with the hostile, unknown ships. There was also combat chatter in one ear that he had to sift through for actionable intel on just what exactly their capabilities were, something of which he could pass off to the Captain or even the SAINT agent were she in the right state of mind. Then there came the biggest surprise, another transmission started coming through, not from one of the ships as he had hoped, but from an unknown stating itself to be an ... I'ee?

This was a civilian ship, as far as he was concerned, what and why exactly it was doing so far out in the middle of nowhere so conveniently timed during the chaos of battle astounded the Minkan. "Captain, a civilian ship, identifying itself as 'I'ee Sphere-Twenty Six Twelve, is requesting permission to come aboard. An ambassador also appears to be on board the ship itself. As this is a combat zone, and to avoid a diplomatic incident, I would like to say 'yes', but that would put the ship in a vulnerable spot as it will have to stop to allow their ship to dock."

He left that decision to the Captain, but he did see fit to at least communicate to the power armor team of the new arrival. "YSS Kaiyo to G-Squad Lead, you have a civilian ship entering the vicinity of battle. I suggest you peel off one or two to defend the craft from getting blown to smithereens."

Riku then opened a direct link transmission to the I'ee vessel. "I'ee Sphere Twenty-Six Twelve, maintain your course, come within our defensive screen. Our Mindy's will do their best to divert the enemy's attention away from you."

Another transmission then came through, one that didn't originate from the new arrival nor Nashira-hei's confirmation that she received the suggestion. It was coming from the enemy ships they were currently engaged with. This caused him to spin around in his chair. "Captain! We're being hailed by the hostile ships, we're getting audio and visual. Establishing connection now!" He would exclaim, turning back towards his console to secure their connection. Perhaps this could all be averted without more blood being shed.

Please be a misunderstanding.

Bridge

Eden returned to her seat just as Kawazoe Riku was getting a transmission from the enemy vessel and swept her finger forward to denote that the visual transmission should go to the main screen at the forward section of the bridge. She turned her head slightly at the sight before her.

Three barely, if at all, clothed women with giant racks atop their heads that sprouted from their temples sat on a bridge dissimilar from the Kaiyō's own. It was angular, its consoles were bulky, and there were random green designs throughout it, likely a language. Two of the women brought their hooved hands up to rest their chins on while the other remained placid in the middle of them.

"This is the YSS Kaiyō, a Yamataian vessel known as NG-x1 440. You have killed Star Army of Yamatai personnel and engaged us in battle. State your intent and we can rectify this issue!" Eden said out.

The center-most antlered woman spoke, "We are the Elefirn and you are an enemy of the Interstellar Kingdom of Kuvexia and will be persecuted accordingly."

Eden stood from her chair and her black hair whipped around her back. She looked to Riku and swiped her hand across her neck, denoting it was time to cut the connection.

"Tactical retreat, Meissa!" Eden called out to the away team's leader, allowing the rest of the Kaiyō to hear the order. She went on audibly to the bridge officers, "Kyōi-hei, I'll take weapons if you invest your full self to piloting. I want those last two ships lined up, one behind the other. Begin to work to move them into position in one minute, time enough for our away team to get back inside! It will be tricky, but I believe in you. Kawazoe-hei, let the squadron know what we're dealing with over here and be sure they know our current position."

She turned on her heel and sat back down on the bridge and double checked the main aether array would be ready before beginning to down the remainder of the bombers with precision and accuracy by utilizing the turbo aether turrets and heavy quad anti-mech cannons. The away team wouldn't have to worry about the enemy threat while she was at the helm. Their top concern should be getting back on board.

Space Fuzzball

The order to withdraw boomed over the comm channel as Amanozako was pouring fire into an enemy bomber. The former NMX neko cursed, glancing at her sensor scopes and cursed again.

"Time to go, William. Fall back to the ship, I will provide cover for you" she said. "Get going, NOW!" she added in a commanding tone to reinforce the order to the civilian boy as she moved herself into a position to screen his retreat.
