How does an invasion like this work? Is SP roleplay preferred to something like this?

Honestly I think it's dissappointing that this happens when the ship is being repaired and the captain isn't around.

As for the NMX invasion, I think just as long as we don't attempt to interfere, the NMX won't fuck with us. I mean, seriously, how politically close is Nepleslia to Yamatai, anyways? We're always poking guns at eachother across our borders...

Tchya, I'll say. The last SMX war there was, the Mishhu gave all the territory they took from Yamatai to Nepleslia. Heheh....


But I was talking about it in IRC, and apparently both Yamatai and UOC are scheduled to get hit pretty hard. As for Nepleslia, it's up to our faction GMs, who apparently haven't been able to decide whether they want to get involved. Which I think is kind of difficult not to do, what with an entire star fortress filled with Mishhu mind slaves orbiting over Nepleslia.

And did I mention that said star fortress has the Empress of Yamatai onboard? No matter how we do it, circumstances are just begging for Nepleslia to do SOMETHING.

Yeah...the situation sort of landed in Nepleslia's lap, and if we do help the other factions, basically they'll all owe us big.

Probably less of a discussion of whether or not to get involved and more of one about how we can take advantage of desperate diplomats.

Essentially. It's times like this that make me glad we're bastard hyper-Americans. If there's one thing we're good at, it's deducing how to screw them for all they're worth! (implementing the plan is another story, though)

So assuming that we decide to take advantage of the situation on our doorstop, how would our characters become involved?
If everyone was here, and the ship was fixed, we would probably just fly up there...but considering the current predicament...

Of course we'd continue with the current plot until the Yammies issue a statement, but after that then what? Do we just find another ship or something?

we're talking ship-to-ship and mecha dogfighting, right? we've got ground specialists and PA jocks, the only thing we might be able to do is lead a boarding action or defend a bunker or something that limits ships and mecha stomping all over us.

I vote for a high-protocol boarding initiative!

We could go in, guns a'blazin and tear that starbase to pieces. We have all kinds of PA jocks with us, infantry specialists, and a great GM/MC to tie it all together ;)

Or if the Empress got captured by the RMX...and held hostage in a fortified facility...and while the Yammies were occupied fending off the RMX...the Nepleslians save the day by extracting the Empress from the facility!

Or a Yammie ship is overrun by the RMX and we extract the Empress and high ranking officals onto one of our ships.
That's totally like, "You owe us big."

Okay maybe not...

But we need Fian to chime in here so we can figure out what direction we're going.

We won't board the station, at least not any time soon. it was brought in on the order of the supreme leader of Nepleslia's military, and also has more uninfected than infected, I believe.

In any case, we'll just have to wait and see how stuff is handed to us. Trust your GM's, they generally do a good job of things.
