RP: Terraforming Ake P2 - O, Death!

Elijah
When Seiji scuttled at full Cowardice Speed into the medical bay, he found Franklin and Alice working on the corpse with the defribulators while one prisoner was sprawled unconcious over his bed at an odd angle, and Greg was looking pleased with himself across the way. It was obvious something had gone wrong somewhere. In fact, it was clear that, as one pulse of the shock paddles after another struck the chest of the dead man that nothing was going to bring him back to the living. Even on Sapphire's rudimentary display in the Sister Sara it was obvious the man was as dead as the rocks outside.

Sister Sara
Speaking of Sapphire, Daziel was continuing to do his best to ignore her and Akemi's antics by continuing to prod Yori to grab a nap. "Go ahead and get some rest, darling. I'll see to the simple work and wake you when I'm done. Mister Strellan, do you need a nap as well, old boy?"

Niel's head shot up with a quick snort, he clearly having been asleep in his wheelchair again.

"Right," Daziel gave him a pat on the shoulder, "You take yourself a nap as well, dear fellow. I'll gather the both of you when this is all over... And..." Daziel's eyes seemed to take on a mischevious light as he indicated that he may have reviewed security footage from the night before. "If you two would like to maybe share a single room, I will of course be discreet about your activities."

Over in the armory, Sylphie manifested a cartoonish-looking broom in a puff of volumetric smoke and zipped around the corner, then stopped short in front of Akemi, her conical hat tilting dangerously forward and low in a comical way before the tiny witch got it straightened back up. She shifted on her tiny volumetric broom and explained with a matter-of-fact expression, "Well, I don't actually want to watch you do biological things to each other." She then blushed and worked her index fingers as a flexing bridge between her hands, "After all, it's not like I can feel anything, y'know... Down there. Or anywhere for that matter."

She then turned on Mako, who was her typically chosen size and asked, "What about you? I bet you can feel loads of stuff. What feels really good, down there?"

"Well I bet you could always get Sapphire or Yori to set you up so you can feel whatever you want," Akemi replied as she disrobed and went about sliding into her suit. "Or Daziel, that's probably a safe bet." Not in a particular hurry to get going the Neko decided to wait and see how Mako would handle this change of subject.

Cowardice speed was fast; many people didn’t give a full time coward the credit he was due. With enough practice and a proper diet they could be very healthy people, as cardio was good for you.

Seiji stumbled into the medical bay and, with a wince, came to an abrupt halt when he saw what was going on in front of him.

He was not a fan of corpses and he knew this was a corpse because he was a very large fan of electronic readouts. “…I think you can stop that – unless of course you are intending to cook him, but I don’t think your shock paddles will reach the requisite and steady temperature to do a good job about it.” It was hard to tell if he was joking about the situation or being serious, since this was the man who spent excessive amounts of time perfecting toast.

Sister Sara

"Maybe I will take a short nap." Yori rubbed her eyes and yawned. She was barely awake as it was only staying up out of a sense of duty to complete her task so once she was relieved of it her fatigue soon caught up to her. She put down the data pad with the simple schematics of everything that was done and then looked to Niel, having missed what Daziel had said to him.

"Do you need any help getting to your room?"

"Yeah, boring boring recon." Mako replied. "But those pirates had to go somewhere, so maybe we'll find them and can blow them up for good" she continued saying to Akemi as she floated over to her beloved SYLPH power armor and sent the signal to open the pilot hatch.

She paused in her process of removing any unnecessary parts of her uniform when the little hologram started questioning her on things that were more Akemi's type of subject.

"Why do you want to know?" she asked Sylph, raising an eyebrow as she started wiggling into the opening in her armor.

Sapphire finished up setting her monitoring equipment and checked it out. Smiling at her set-up, she gave it another check before she was satisfied.

She made sure the recording equipment, both video and audio were out of the way of those that needed access and work in the infirmary. "All Done!" She announced to none in particular as she skipped out from the infirmary to get some sun.

Sapphire smiled as she felt the heat of the day fall upon her as exited the ship into the secured area. It was peaceful as she moved about within the bubble of breathable atmosphere.

Full of anger, forced on her by her futile try at bringing the man's heart back to life, Alice threw the paddles away. She strided towards the side and kicked the wall furiously. She then walked back to the body and looked at it. The man was dead and other was unconcious and who knew what would happen to him.

"Time of death, eight, thirty seven AM, ship time." Alice recorded and put her datapad down. Her head then turned to Greg, giving him a very ugly look of anger. Anger aimed at him.

She walked through the medbay to Greg and punched with a proper left hook.

Elijah
Spencer relinquished his grip on the corpse and watched Alice stomp away with a distant look. He looked to Seiji for a moment, then looked back to watch the good doctor floor her other patient. Greg looked up from the ground at her with a look of mixed surprise and amusement.

"You hit me!" He accused, still on the verge of shit-eating laughter, "You actually hit me. Heh."

Franklin shrugged and licked his lips, moving in after Alice while cracking the knuckles of each hand in the palm of the other. He twisted his neck and grunted, "Bout time we started doing things my way. I'll hold him so you can kick 'em in the cock."

Sister Sara
"Actually," Niel looked up from almost nodding off again. After all, Daziel had walked away on some awfully purposeful-looking mission and without anything to hold his interest Niel quickly began to drift off again. He smiled weakly, then looked cautiously around them before returning his gaze to Yori entreatingly, "How would it make you feel if we, uh... Stayed together? I mean, you can see we're both tired so it wouldn't be anything untowards-- just some company, I guess. And no one would have to go find the other when we wake up, right?"

Sister Sara - Armory
"What, it isn't obvious?" Sylphie asked, still forming that twitching bridge with her index fingers, eyes still cast to one side, "Well, clearly I like being your size, and maybe I wanna feel something down there, y'know, and maybe they'll make me be able to feel stuff-- so you could tell me what stuff's the best stuff to feel."

"Ah, hello darlings!" Daziel strode into the armory with his confidence emulator set to full power, a jaunty step to his gait. He looked at all three of the present pretty ladies and gave them each a cute smile before saying with mixed purpose and delight, "I do hope you're ready to be off. I'm trying to get everything under way as quickly as possible-- as we all seem to be just a hint off-schedule this morning. Is there anything I can do to help you girls?"

Outside
As Sapphire emerged into the warm air, all she could see was the solid blue of the crater lake and the never-ending powder-blue skies. For once, someone on the crew was in a position to take a long, hard look at the barren planet and see the intricate beauty hidden in the complexities of it's bewitchingly plain-looking landscapes. Ake, though rough and poisonous, was clear for the eyes as an untouched planet. Few intelligent beings had ventured to her surface, and even fewer had stayed long enough to look. Now, the youngest member of the team was being treated to a view of her temporary new home's quiet, reserved side, as if listening to a shy girl speak for the first time.

A warm wind kicked the air around, even inside the volumetric bubble.

"Shut up," Alice shouted at Greg, her fists still balled in. She was still furious and ready to tear him apart. "You little slimy fucker! You tell me what you did, or I swear to go, I will let Franklin do whatever the fuck he wants to you. Hell I will even turn the blind eye to torture, I am all for good handling of prisoners, but not the fuck who kill their buddies. You are a worm and as such I lost interest in keeping you alive, doctors oath be damned. That man was stable, there was no way he should get seizure like that and die, that means you did something you little fuck. So you either start talking, while you still got tongue to talk with!"

"Honestly, what could I possibly have done?" Greg asked quickly and sharply, wiping the thin stream of blood that was now drooling from one corner of his mouth. He smiled again, showing the blood pooling in his mouth and turning his teeth pink with slime. The punch had struck him pretty firmly, it seemed, but he took it like a champion. He started to get to his feet, but a pair of leathery hands pulled him up more quickly and unpleasantly than he could've gotten up himself. Franklin held him by his upper-arms, growling with harsh breath at the murderer.

"You'll tell Doc Mason whatever it is she wants ter know, fuckface." He warned, leaning in so close that the brim of his hat prodded the other man's forehead.

"You saw her check us all out." Greg protested, lifting his hands to tug at Spencer's wrists. "We didn't have any active nanomachines, right? So what was I supposed to use to kill the guy when I'm sitting here in my underwear?"

Spencer screamed wordlessly right at Greg's face, eyes lit up with anger at the argument. He yelled so loudly and hoarsely that Greg's hair twisted in the breeze and his face scrunched up in pain at the volume of it. The cowboy surveyor twisted in place and out-right threw his prisoner across the triage table, resting a firm elbow across the man's back and throwing a trio of firm punches right into his rump. Greg let out a little pained grunt with each impact before Franklin flipped him over and reached for some medical tubing.

"You like gettin' yer keister spread, son?" Asked Franklin, tying a tight knot of medical tubing around Greg's wrists, "Now, I'm probably too old to git me a proper hardon so's I kin fuck ya, but I promise you I'll find somethin' to fit in that tight little asshole of yers if'n you ain't feelin' cooperative."

Then, just as Greg opened his mouth to say something else, Spencer spat right on his face. It was a thick, yellow clod of the stuff and it worked its way down Greg's cheek with no particular rush. The surveyor turned around and faced Alice again, leaving Greg to just stew in it and think about his situation. "Doc Mason..." Franklin looked her up and down with a sigh, "Y' shure look cute in yer undies, but I cain't say these were exactly the circumstances I wanted to see y' in'm."

He made one of his sounds, a slightly disappointed-sounding grunt of approval for her body. "Whelp, I reckon you should go put on some clothes. Sit around like that long enough, and y' might make me have told a lie to that feller 'bout my hardon."

Any response from Mako to the small hologram was postponed by the arrival of Daziel. Mako glanced at him and shrugged.

"Open the door in a minute?" she suggested as she finished wiggling into the pilot pod of her power armor.

To Sylph she said, in a much lower voice, "We'll talk later, okay?" she said with a wink and sealed up her PA.

Outside

Sapphire moved within the perimeter of the bubble of breathable air, even though there was a soft tang of ammonia as the breeze ruffled her hair. She like the crew she was part of as she thought of the future. Maybe she would leave the planet and go to college. She kneeled and dug her fingers into dirt a lifted it up to let it run through her fingers. Watching the dirt stream towards the ground with the lighter particles being blown by the breeze. This place had potential after the air was breathable, then water would have to be transported in. Unless there was reservoirs underground they could tap into.

She looked out over the landscape, taking closer look at the land. Taking notices of the different shades of brown which signified the degrees of fertility.

Sister Sara

Yori thought a moment about what Niel said and then simply nodded. She was really tired and at the moment she didn't care for much thinking on the topic. "It would make things easier...like sleeping in the office." She yawned once more and then moved to push Niel's chair along.

"I'm good," Akemi replied, suited up and ready to go. A moment later she was outside and waving to Sapphire because it just seemed the thing to do before departing. "So," she said, speaking through her armor to Daziel as she moved out, "how are we going to spot their camp without them also spotting us?" They were supposed to be doing reconnaissance after all and surely a pirate ship had a variety of sensors even if it was only a repurposed civilian merchant model.

While wondering about their predicament Akemi suddenly came up with a sufficient quip to both compliment and sexually harass the lone communications specialist as she took in the landscape. "The soul 's not the only thing that looks awful fertile to me!"

Sapphire returned the wave, then moved her hair out of her face. She listened to Akemi comment. "Be safe. Both of you guys." She spoke softly with concern in her voice, looking at Akemi with her eyes wide and filled with warmth. She turned from Akemi and moved to the ship that held the animals. Looking back at Akemi. "Fly low and leave no dust trail."

Elijah

Seiji had walked into something that he really did not want to be a part of. The longer this whole thing took, though, the longer it would be before they could finally go off to do their job and hopefully return before something else horrible happened. He was also very quick to make a point of not getting hurt; this whole experience had not left a particularly pleasant taste in his mouth about the good doctor. It quickly dawned on him that maybe staying around could be a bad idea in and of itself and he decided to speak up. “Hey, Franklin. We are ready to go when you are… done with whatever it is you’re doing. I am going to wait outside.” And Seiji did just that. At a speed much slower than full cowardice speed he walked outside, intending to wait just outside the ship for the other man.

Elijah

"All right," Alice said to Franklin and sighed. She made a few steps away from Greg, pulling the older nepleslian along so they could talk with some privacy. "I am gonna get cleaned and dressed. Please try to not resort to torture. Just scare him. Tell him I can cook up a truth serum, which is essentially truth anyway. Still it is more then clear that he had something to do with it. Otherwise, why would he be grinning like that when the other pirate was dying. I will leave it to you then." She gave Franklin a nod and left to do her thing.

Joacim
The other Mule was mostly empty now that pirates had pillaged their share of the cattle. When Sapphire walked in, it seemed that the smell of lush fodder and straw bedding had even faded somewhat, no longer overpowering, but rather lingering from what little remained in the rows of stalls lining either wall. Franklin had earler pulled Don the Donkey outside to sample the lovely clean comet-sourced water of Ake's crater lakes, and now the hold sat silent with dust hanging in the air cast over by streams of angular light as the morning sun cut into the open bay.

Elijah
It wasn't entirely certain what Franklin had done to Greg since they'd been alone in the room together, but when Alice returned with proper clothes she found that he'd been rendered unconsious with a small pool of blood about his jaw. Franklin held the other, still un-named prisoner slumped over his shoulder, and Daziel seemed to have materialized in the med-bay, as well. Franklin waved to Alice when she entered and slid the prisoner off his shoulders and onto Daziel's waiting arms with a gruff, "Here, go ahead an' hold onto this fer me."

Franklin smiled at Alice and gave her a pat on the back, explaining, "Mister Burton's gonna keep holt of our other lil' buddy for the time being, t' keep him away from Mister Greg. He oughta be out for another hour n' thirty minutes or so, I reckon, made him t' swaller a pill we use t' put the horses to sleep, ayugh." He took on a more serious face and nodded sorrowfully, "Had to rough him up a bit more, sorry, Doc. When he wakes up, though, I have a feeling he'll be in an awful hurry to tell you anythin' you need afore I get back. Jes' call it a hunch."

The cowboy withdrew a cigarette and perched it between his lips, then lit it with a contented sigh. "Ah, well, I'm out for now in either case. Maybe later you kin let me see that underwear of yours again?"

Franklin didn't wait for an answer, just left with one of those 'hyeh' kinds of laughs and waltzed into the desert sun. Daziel approached next, bowing slowly to Alice with a soft smile. "Doctor Mason." He said quietly, "I'll go stow this gentleman in a closet with some food and water. Do you require any assistance in here? It seems Miss October's wandering the grounds, so I could fetch her for you."

Sister Sara
Since Yori's quarters were on the Sister Sara, it was much closer for her to push the wheelchair-bound designer to her room instead of to his, and so he'd directed her there to maximize their joint sleeping time. He kept quiet when they entered, but was obviously not falling asleep any longer. Niel was much too interested in the surroundings and gave the entire room a wide-eyed glance as he looked about to curiously see what Yori had filled her room with.

Outside
Franklin emerged from the Elijah with the cigarette edged over to one side of his mouth and grunted at Seiji again as he approached the jeep with a look of interest.

"Well, you packed her up good, didn't you?" He asked approvingly as he hopped into the driver's seat and turned to take in the supplies arranged in the back of the bed. "Hell, might jest go ourselves spelunkin' fer fun, ahum, since we got all the toys out already..." He looked up at Seiji with a crooked smile and asked, "You wanna drive, Chickenshit, or you think a barbarian feller might be able to manage it?"

Without waiting for a response, Franklin keyed the ignition and leaned back into his seat with a broad grin, then yelled at the only other person nearby, Akemi, "Hey, tennacle-humper, looks like me an' Chickenshit is gonna beat you back for dinner, don't it!? Get the damn lead out!"

Akemi might not have been able to hear him, for she was at the same time recieving a telepathic response from Daziel. 'Just use your training, my dear,' He expressed with his soundless message, 'Disable active sensors, stay out of sight, and if you get spotted just flee... Remember their vessel is heavily damaged and likely being repaired.'

Seiji quietly walked with Franklin as he emerged from the depths of the Elijah and its med bay. He did not quite know what to think about the whole thing. The concept of random violence was lost on the young, Yamtaian scientist. He perfectly understood the idea of fighting for survival, or maybe even territory, or over some grand purpose or ideal. But what he had just walked in on was the beating of a restrained prisoner, seemingly for information, and that was beyond his normal scope of considerations on the topic.

It was getting to the point, though, where work needed to get done, and Franklin’s question brought him back to reality.

“There is no gun attached to it, so you might have trouble, but I think it’s a trial you may just be able to overcome,” was Seji’s retort, getting back into the spirit of the hostilities. He strapped himself into the passenger seat and took a moment to find a few things to grip on tight, in case Franklin decided to test just how fast their new mode of transportation could go. “I think we can leave spelunking off the agenda! I want to get off this horrible… horrible rock as fast as possible.” As if it were a reminder to himself he reached in the back and pulled his mask back on, testing the seal and making sure it was in perfect condition.

Sister Sara _Yori's Quaters

As they stepped into the young engineer's room it was evident that Yori Kataoka was not the type to worry about with things like making her room look girly. The walls were decorated with the occasional blueprint, marked up with notations made by her. The floor and tables were littered with parts, however they were not of some advanced machine she was building rather they looked like pieced form different hobby kits, plastic gears, spring motors, propellers, and so much more.

"Sorry it's such a mess, I didn't expect anyone to really come in." She spoke as she wheeled Niel in, fortunately most of the stuff was to the side so navigating her room was easy.
