Re: [restart point] Mission 2

The sudden feeling of a hand shaking him roused Kai from his sleep, he had only been under a moment, but having the ST backup taken during that moment gave him a bit of a headache and left him just a little disoriented. Shaking his head he replied "Nah, I'm fine, I jut wasn't prepared to go out so quick" he answered, honestly.

He stepped out of the alcove and walked towards Yuril. "See, Not so bad" he said, reaching out and gntly grabbing her hand to reassure the silver haired Neko.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"There is one, and I'd be happy to help." Miyoko stood up a bit straighter, pleased to still have some role in the expanded medical staff. That she'd been expecting to be assigned to work closely with Sanjuro--because it would be just her luck--factored in a little too. "Will you just be directing them down there after they've had their examinations?"

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

The neko smiled slightly.
"I suppose so. Since you didn't start screaming or flailing in agony, I'll have to assume it wasn't that bad."
Yuril's smile widened a bit at her own joke.

"Well, guess I'll get mine done then..."
The neko slowly made her way over to the alcove.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"That might be the most efficient method to make things faster," Sora said with a nod and smile to Miyoko.

She looked to the line and said clearly, "Anyone just needing an ST back-up that don't wish to wait in line, Miyoko-san can assist you with the back-ups in the other alcove on the Hoshii! Sanjuro-Hei and I are both open to take anyone waiting to get their physical done!"

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Nyton looked over at Sora upon her announcement. "I'm good physical wise. Saito-Hei, I suppose I'll follow you to the alcove then. Easy enough." he said before looking back at Masako. "You need a physical too or just going for ST?" he then asked.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Yoroko stood in line waiting to go into the ST alcove where Serizawa stood. I hope it doesn't hurt too badly... Yoroko thought as she waited. "You gonna be okay?" Yoroko asked Kai as he stepped out of the alcove, "How was your nap?" she joked.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"Hm? oh, I'm fine, Yoroko, Don't even worry, I'm sure this headache will be gone soon anyway." The tall blonde Yamataian said, before turning towards the medical staff "Is anyone free to give me my physical?" Kai asked, wanting to get this over with so he could have some free time.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"Both Sanjuro and I are free," Sora aid with a patient smile, repeating herself for the disorientated Kai.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"Of course," Miyoko responded to Nyton. Truth be told, she'd somewhat looked forward to having a few minutes to herself before people started arriving, but if she was going to have company, Nyton was better than some of the alternatives. She hung back, waiting for him to finish his conversation with Masako.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Once Kai had vacated the ST alcove, Serizawa prepared to receive the next patient. He was thankful for Miyoko's arrival. A second set of hands to dedicate toward the backups meant that he his workload had essentially been cut in half.

"Okay," the Yamataian spoke, "I am ready to take whoever is next for a backup."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Masako couldn't really think of a comment for their briefing earlier. The ending for the simulation had been such a shock that she had only paid attention enough to get the details as to how it had ended. Then came the question of physicals.

"Eh? I...I actually haven't been given a physical examination since the Self-Defense Fleet was merged with regular Star Army," Masako responded curiously. "That was...getting close to two and a half years ago," she responded before looking towards Sora. "Would that mean I'm required to have an physical now, Ketsurui-Shoi Kohosei?" she asked.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"That would best, Masako-san. Your records are extremely out of date," Sora replied with a concerned smile. "It shouldn't take us very long to update it and I'm free to do your work-up, Masako-san."

She looked at Kai again."You can get your physical with Sanjuro-Hei, Kai-san, he's ready for you right now."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"I guess that would be for the best," the young warrant officer replied as she scratched the tip of her ear. "After all, I transferred to an NH-29 in the middle of last year, so an update on my medical records should be needed." she agreed before glancing back towards Nyton and Miyoko, waving to them as she stepped towards the ship's Doctor.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Yoroko walked over to the alcove. "I guess I should probably get this out of the way before I forget." Yoroko said as she approached and bowed to Serizawa. "Is this similar to a body transferral?" Yoroko asked, briefly remembering her own body switch.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Serizawa nodded at Yoroko, informing her, "Yes, it is similar to a body transfer with the exception of the minor time disorientation experienced after your download into the new body. Also, I am going to guess that you were likely sedated during the process so if you were to choose to have your backup performed while you are conscious, you will be exposed to a brief amount of pain which will vary depending on the amount of memories you are carrying. As you saw with Nakamura-Hei, the sedation is fast acting, rendering you unconscious within minutes and is just as quick to wear off. You may experience some disorientation and hallucinations while your body breaks down the drugs in your body. For Yamataians, this is usually a momentary phenomenon. The decision to remain conscious for your backup is ultimately a matter of preference as there are no lasting side-effects stemming from the process itself."

He gestured toward the ST alcove.

"Now, decide whether you wish to be sedated and then make yourself comfortable on the bed inside the alcove so we can begin."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Nyton shrugged. "Well then I suppose I'll go with Saito-Hei to the express lane on ST backups. I will see you after your physical then, Masako-san?" he said before turning towards Miyoko. "Shall we go? I had something I meant to discuss with you Saito-Hei. This is as good an opportunity as any then."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"Certainly." Miyoko turned and exited the medical lab. When the door had shut and she and Nyton had gotten a decent distance away, affording them some modicum of privacy, she continued. "What was it you wanted to discuss?"

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Nyton walked steadily with his hands folded behind him. "I was wondering whether you had made any progress on solving the mystery to Kotori's ST incident. She said that later ST attempts produced the same results so that would mean that the problem lay in her, not the machine." he said.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"Very well, Masako-san. Please sit down on the examination table. This shouldn't take too long," Sora gestured to her table with a friendly smile before she turned to her table and prepped her tools and data pad to update Masako's medical information.

She double checked to make sure sh had a sterile unused needle and that she had fresh gloves ready. She knew that neko bodies had a strong immune system and it was quite rare in these modern times to get an infection or gangrene from using unsterilized equipment, but it was always better to be safe than sorry on a military vessel.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Masako smiled back at the doctor as she followed instructions and sat down upon the table. She wondered for a moment why everyone had suddenly decided to call her by her first name though. A few moments ago, she had been Kurohoshi-Juni to a lot of them. She could understand Sora calling her by first name, since many doctors used first names to instill a sense of bedside manner with them.

But that had been the first time Nyton had called her by her first name. A part of her couldn't help but wonder what had brought that on, while another part of her chose to ignore it for now. "I'm ready when you are, Ketsurui-Kohosei."
