RP: YSS Resurgence Resurgence of Yamatai - Mission 4: The Hand That Feeds

Frank would walk back rubbing the back of his head. "Hey Koyama, being a great engineer such as yourself could I trouble you with giving my some repairs to by torso since its leaking fluids.... might just be a hose repair but i need to get that fixed before i head to medical to get a skin job." Frank said trying his best not to sound pushy and remain respectful.

for the first firefight since signing up he was greatful for a great team such as the crew of the resurgence this being said he still feels dejected with how much Sanda has snapped at him and called him a idiot since being here but hes hoping to prove that hes a good person.

Delmira stayed with the group in the hanger though she had set her gatling gun down out of the way. She had her rifle back out and it was in SMG mode as she scanned the group of prisoners. Detained or not one of them could have something hidden as the away team didnt have team to search them before they left the ship. She looked at Koyama and sent a telepathic message to her. ~We didn't have time to search them before we had to evacuate the ship should we do that soon, now?~ The neko questioned.

Koyama's gaze finally shifted from the Countess to Sanda and the others, and following the Elysian's advice spoke: "Good work all, we will have a medical team in coming to check you over. Once this is all over, I will speak to the Shosa on your behalf after your report. He should be pleased you managed to take someone of this rank."

Silently she began adding other odds and ends for rewards for each of them. And how to deal with their attitudes with Thad. But that was a whole other can of worms yet to be thankfully opened.

Then reaching out through her wireless abilities 'spoke' to Poppy: ~' Pink-hei, could you please come to the Shuttle Bay to give our away team a look over? As well as the prisoners?'~

Afterward, and at Mochi's advice continued, ~'Leyton-hei, Hachirobei-hei, would you please come to the Shuttle Bay and handle any effects and or weapons of our prisoners? One may need to assist with our team's armors if required.'~

Her own staff in engineering she readied a few to the task once she received the Captain's decision.

~' Agrippina-hei, we've received 'guests', Kuvexians to be precise. Would you be willing to whip up something to their taste please as needed?'~

Once everyone had orders and requests sent, Koyama finally responded to Mochi, ~' Please do, at the moment I'm awaiting the Shosa's decision on the deck being used. If he agrees, then you have permission. Be thorough, I know you will be able to handle it. My engineers will follow your orders.'~

Especially if what she had seen in the little cabinet of his in the Science Lab had been any indication. But to Frank, the XO and Chief Engineer she gave him a once over and a look of disapproval.

"You will refer to me as Chui, or Ketsurui-chui on duty, Sterling-hei." admonishing the android lightly and without too much bite and brushing off the platitudes. She was on duty after all, and while the woman let them lose the rank off-duty, she wouldn't stand for it while in the uniform.

"I will see to your repairs momentarily." after all, Koyama could not be in every place at once. But she did pull a scanner from her belt, having turned slightly toward the tall android to scan the extent of the damage while waiting. But she did task a technician to run her up a kit as she did so.

As she looked to the screen of her scanner, Del would get her reply, ~'Do so, I have Leyton-hei, Hachirobei-hei, on the way as well to police any items or possible weaponry. They are being treated as POWs and therefore we follow the Star Army's policy.'~ Koyama even sent a copy to Delmira. All of this, of course she relayed to Aoba wanting to keep him up to date.

YSS Resurgence - Shuttle Bay

Thad brought up the rear as the team exited from the shuttle. He knew having captives on board was going to be a new experience for the team. While it was not spoken, he could sense the fear coming from the team when he sat next to the enemy. Granted he did not blame them for having it, since just moments before they were hell bent on killing them. The crew lacked the experience of a many year battle hardened solder. So either out of concern for him or the team around they should learn one important fact. He is the danger and he figured this is why they have been keeping an eye out for him. He knew the truth, behind the honor and respect and following orders was another motive. Mainly that if command thinks they can get just one more inch up that hill to victory by piling up bodies of solders, well that is just how it was. They almost did not come home alive due to the ship they were on almost blowing up. The look the captain gave him before sending him off to the mission was something he could not forget.

Thad let out a sigh as he helped the wounded crew off the ship. He hoped that he was wrong and it was an honest mistake with the crew almost being killed. Though he could not shake those cold eyes. He knew that look all too well, a person who was being guided by ambition. Plus mixed with the fact things these past few days did not make any sense. He read the report the captain filed and it was filled with errors. He never once lied and still did not understand the rapid heavy response he ordered. It was starting to feel like he was being targeted. Though, why all the fuss when generally speaking everything was working out pretty well. Few unexpected issues like Mia getting knocked up but things like this happen on the battlefield. This was just another walk in the park.

None the less he knew it would not hurt to dig a little into this matter. If anything he'd find out why the rush to punish him without any due process. He knew Star Army law enough to know given the infractions against him this should have been a court marshal affair. He'd hope he was just reading into this too much. That in a short few days everything would go back to normal. Though, if he was right, the chance crew would be waking up in an ST tank was very high.

He walked over to Mochi who was dealing with the prisoners. "Excuse me Sir, when you have a moment. I have something I'd like to ask of you." A smile crossed his face, hiding the serious nature of his request.

Having delivered the Countess to Koyama and Iemochi, Sanda stepped back over to where Del was watching the other prisoners. She let her shotgun momentarily dangle from its strap while she took off her helmet. The tight pony tail she had started with was a mess. Sometime in the last few hours she had received a blow to her right temple. Blood had trickled down and smeared on her right cheek opposite her lighting tattoo. It gave her quite the barbarian look which, had she a mirror to see it herself, she would have approved of.

Sanda untied her pony tail and gave her hair a good shake from side to side before tying it back up again. That alone made her feel a lot better. She'd really feel better if she could get out of this Mindy suit. It still felt like she didn't have anything on. She'd take her Daisy, or just regular fatigues anyway. Hair back under control, Sanda set her helmet on the ground and took back up her shotgun to watch the prisoners. She glanced at Del's rifle and smiled. "I thought you said you knew how to use that?" She teased as she rolled her shoulder where Del had shot her.

YSS Resurgence - Shuttle Bay

Mochi couldn't help but smile a little at Koyama, quite impressed by how well she was handling being an XO. To be expected from a princess, he supposed, even an adopted one. The Elysian patted her once on the shoulder to get her attention as he half-turned to leave. "I'll get started mustering up the conversion team." The green-panel offered quietly with a slight lean-in to his fellow officer as to not disrupt her flow.

As the blonde was about to depart the group, Thad's voice and approach gave cause for Mochi to stop, listening to the other man's brief request. He wasn't quite sure what it was regarding, or why he himself was being asked rather than someone in the command staff proper - Thad wasn't under his direct report, after all. However, by the looks and expressions that Mochi could see being tossed at Thad while his back was turned, he couldn't help but feel a bit for the guy. Especially as Thad was smiling despite it all.

"Very well, Thaddeus-hei. Once the Chui and medical has cleared you, I'll be on our 'prisoner deck'. If you have no other duties, feel free to be an extra set of hands for me and we can talk there." While Mochi, perhaps boldly, had called Koyama by her first name and without an honorific earlier, in front of others he made sure not to. It was a different ruleset for such things between officers who were friends, one which didn't apply in front of other crewmembers.

With that, Seinosuke departed from the others, hoping to at least get his team and materials together before the official go-ahead from Aoba. ~"Euikoshi-hei, Henitot-hei, meet me on Deck 2 as soon as you're able. Bring some toolkits."~ Soon enough, he'd have made his way to the construction zone.

Delmira looked over at Sanda as the ranger waked over to her and smiled under her helmet. "You shouldn't have been standing where i was shooting." she teased the ranger. "But im glad it didn't puncture your armor, unlike you i have hard rounds and thought it was going to cook off right next to my face." The neko looked at Thad and her armored tail swished in annoyance behind her before she looked back at Sanda. "But our job isnt done yet, we need to search the prisoners and i wound like someone reliable and more experienced to help me out."

YSS Resurgence - Shuttle Bay

Sanda snorted at Del's teasing, smile on her face. She also was glad that Del hadn't accidently blown her arm off. Though she had a couple cybernetic replacements it would have taken her out of the fight and Sanda had needed that last fight. It made her feel like a soldier. There had been to much 'down time' lately. Sanda nodded her agreement that their job wasn't done. This was the part of the mission it was easy to relax but they needed to remain sharp. Not just for their own safety and the safety of the ship, but to show that the Star Army was the best fighting force in the galaxy. That their soldiers were well disciplined and effective.

"Leyton and Hachirobei are on there way to help us process the prisoners. They'll log their gear and such and Poppy will get them checked out medically. A couple of them look rather beat up." Sanda said as she continued to watch the prisoners. Most of them had sat down on the deck, either from exhaustion or boredom. A few had remained standing and were either looking around the ship out of curiosity or were talking quietly. Sanda kept a closer eye on these. If the rolls had been reversed, if she was the prisoner, she would be doing the same as them. Looking around, assessing strength and weakness of the guards, possible escape routes. She didn't blame them for that, that was what a soldier did, even if they weren't aware that they were doing it. It became second nature.

"We'll wait for the others." Sanda repeated, "It'll be easier and safer to do with more people." The tall Nepleslian lowered her voice and added almost to herself. "Keep your eyes on those two standing together whispering. If any of them were to try anything those would be the two to start it. I don't think they will, it'd be pretty tough to overpower everyone here but their the ones who are sizing everything up." One of the two looked over towards her and locked eyes. Sanda smiled and nodded slightly. The Kuvie returned the nod, one soldier to another.

YSS Resurgence - Deck 5

Cassie gingerly made her way across the passageway to the armor bay and got out of her damaged suit, leaving it hanging on an armor rack with wisps of smoke still coming out of it. The recently-added armorer Norita was there, too, and some of the Kuvexian soldiers started leaving their chrome gold power armor suits there as well. Poppy spotted Cassie as she came down and asked Cassie to go to the medical lab and wait for her. Then Poppy went in the shuttle bay and gave everyone a quick medical inspection with her vivid green eyes and suave gloved hands.

YSS Resurgence - Bridge

Aoba called Koyama, "Housing the survivors on Deck 2 is acceptable. I would like to get the away team reset as soon as possible as we need to continue our mission. One of the cargo ships has broken off and is heading to planet Darso to discharge its cargo. After that, we will continue to Ahn Rhy. Also be advised there is some mild damage to the ship. We have a hull breach on Deck 3 in the forward storage areas by the bridge and the showers. Pidole is attempting to stabilize the area."

Aoba sent orders to Brax to give the cargo ship a fighter escort to the surface.

Inside the cockpit.

Zanven watched as hit payload hit home, the ship was disabled and the task of stopping the enemy from taking the Away Team and running. He oversaw the team and shuttle being escorted back to the ship and was about to engage the auto pilot to allow him a change to go back on board to see what the hell he caused. He did not have any real friends yet on the ship so he was at least eager to see if they were alright, but after a few rounds of shuttling everything seemed to be settling down. "All is clear out here bridge, the ship is disabled and the cargo ships are once again back on track. Going to resume escort flight path now, also I hope the Away Team made it out ok.. I might have miscalculated the damage capabilities of firing upon the engines." He said before going quiet once more. His SPINE interface was doing calculations and keeping an eye on his back as he flew without a care. As the convoy began to move once more, he noticed the ship, whose identification read as the "Gilded Battery", begin to make its decent to the planet Darso.

He received orders pretty quick to break away and begin escorting the ship to the surface to offload supplies. "Aye-Aye captain, beginning escort mission for GL." He said before pushing forward to catch up with the cargo ship as it was entering the atmosphere of Darso.

Shuttle Bay

Koyama seemed to nod to herself as the Captain spoke over their wireless line. To Mochi, she sent the affirmative to begin and tasked two of her newer engineers to his command. After his pat on the shoulder, feeling a bit more reassured by the fact both Aoba and the Elysian seemed to agree. To Poppy, the First Officer offered an apologetic look.

~' We have medical already on scene to treat the lighter injuries. Cassie will have to be treated in the medbay I believe. The Kuvexians are leaving their armor voluntarily and have thus far been cooperative. I will task another technician to help Pidole-hei. And if needed assist. '~
adding the last to her small update.

Once again to their science officer, Koyama sent a texted warning regarding deck three.

"If I may have your attention," Koyama raised her voice a little so that the Kuvexians could hear her, "Accommodations will be arranged in short order for you all." hands clasped before her, she continued in her business-like manner.

"Any effects you may be carrying on your person will need to be relinquished. While I sympathize that you may carry items precious to your person, culture, or possibly religion it is a necessity for which I apologize."

Pausing long enough to look to the remainder of the power armor team, the Neko took stock of them and back. "We will of course provide nourishment and medical treatment if needed. As for your current status, I have taken note of your cooperation to which I thank you for and ask that you continue to do so with patience and without incident." offering a marginal bow at this.

To Sanda and Yayoi, she made several gestures that amounted to their being reset when possible.

YSS Resurgence - Bridge

"New ships defolding," Kalena announced. "One battleship, 3 cruisers. Friendly. First Fleet. We are being hailed."

"On screen," Aoba nodded.

"This is Taisa Saburo Genji of the YSS Oblivion, NB-S1-404. We have been dispatched due to pirate activity in this star system. Do you require assistance?"

"I apologize for not leaving you any leftovers," Aoba replied with a hint of a smile. "We have just delivered a humanitarian cargo shipment to planet Darso. Now that the cargo is delivered, the ship can return to Nataria. I will leave her in your capable hands and proceed to my next objective."

"Understood Shosa," captain Saburo nodded. "Good luck. Oblivion out."

After the transmission closed, Aoba turned to Gabriela Lively. "Set space fold FTL coordinates for the An Rhy star system. Copy coordinates to Brax's fighter as well so he can follow us. Get our freighter disguise back online again and prepare to jump on my mark."

YSS Resurgence - Power Armor Bay

Yayoi stepped to her power armor bay, and began the check program.

After the prisoners were all secure Sanda headed for the Power armor bay. She needed to get a few things swapped out. Her shield for one thing. The thing had been shot to pieces. Another was her right shoulder hard point. Seems someone who claimed to know how to use a sniper rifle had damaged it.

Thad took his friend up on the offer to swing by the deck were the prisoners would be held. The ship lacked a proper prison so they would need to make one and in a hurry.

Delmira followed Sanda to the power armor bay and would start to remove her armor. She stopped and messaged Mia instead. "Mia did you grab my clothes before I left on the mission I could use them now if your free." She will detach her damaged sholdier peice with the ammunition bin and set it off to the side.

Koyama joined the three women in the Power Armor bay. Tool kit in hand, "Need help?" she asked the them.

Sanda had been trying to remove the damaged section of her shoulder but couldn't reach it. When Koyama came in and asked if anyone needed help she quickly said, "Yes please! I can't reach the back and I don't want to have to take the whole suit off if I don't have to."

The red-haired armorer, Norita, was going around checking all the power armor suits and rushing to replaced damaged components. "Anyone need missiles?" she asked.

Yayoi glanced over, having been lucky, she didn't need assistance with her own Power Armor. She saw that Sanda did though with Koyama offering, she didn't move.

Koyama moved to Sanda, toolbox opening as she looked to Norita, nodding to the woman, and went about the task of removing Mindy's shoulder armor plate from Sanda's suit. When it came loose, the woman grunted a little as she hefted the damaged armor component onto the deck.

"You all chose a rather... interesting loadout." the engineer murmured just loud enough for Sanda, and those Neko in the bay.

"Well, we didn't exactly have anyone making any recommendation. I grabbed what I'm most familar with and what I though would be effective in close combat." Sanda said trying to cock her head around to see what Koyama was doing behind her.

"Yeah I think we all took the best given our lack of boarding action experience." Delmira said. The neko frowned not getting a response from Mia. The catgirl removed her armor and stood there with a distinct lack of clothing. "If you need me i am going to look for my clothes and Mia."

Koyama flicked one of Sanda's ears, "You are a Ranger, improvisation is your bread and butter as they say. But close-quarters fighting, corridors, even bays. Smaller is better. Submachine guns, pistols, shotguns." moving back around, Sanda saw her carrying a new Zesuaium plate to affix to the suit.

"Even a knife would be good." with a curt nod to herself as the plate was hefted into place and the sound of her labor continued. "How did everyone perform?" her voice coming from behind the Ranger, not in her usual stealthy manner.

To Delmira she glanced at her even as her hands worked on the plate to Sanda's suit. "We will run training sims afterward." came the response.

"Hey!" Sanda yelped as her ear was flicked. "I had plenty of options for any situation." Sanda protested. She became more serious when asked how did everyone perform. "We all fought well. But our organization left something to be desired." Sanda chewed her lip a moment. "I think we lacked a head person. You know, someone who was in charge."

Koyama placed a hand on Sanda's armored shoulder, giving it a pat accompanied by the sound of flesh on metal. "We will need to appoint someone. Also. Next time, a weapon for every occasion slows you down. It also presents the enemy with a higher opportunity to detonate it."

The last of her words sounded... amused? "I have fought in close-quarters before. Trust me, less is more. Pick a person, designate them for a given task in a squad."

"I think that Cassie tried her best to lead the team but i do think we should designate a secondary team lead, i only know of one blooded combat vet that is responsible." Delmira said before heading out of the power armor bay to head to her shared quarters and to find Mia.

Sanda snorted, "Easy for you to say. I'm Nepleslian. If I was to leave one of my weapons they would get lonely." She laughed. "I get your point. Less weapons on a mission like that would have helped me move better. And I agree with Del, Cassie did her best, but I think she lacks the confidence in herself to be an efficent team leader."

Koyama raised one of the Ranger's arms, "You are never without weapons." she admonished, "Nepleslian or not." then tapped the side of the woman's head. "That is your greatest. As corny as it sounds." then she shuddered, eyes going haunted for a brief moment and then snapping back.

But she did tilt her head at the mention of Cassie afterward, "I may have to speak with her, or setup another session with our science officer so we can compare and see who would be appropriate for the task."

Mochi wiped down the oil from his dirty hands as the science and engineering team finished up the initial version of the new 'prison deck'. It had taken some time, and a fair amount of fabrication, but it was nothing that they hadn't trained on before. In fact, it was nice to flex those skills on deployment for once, rather than having to pick up a rifle or write a report.

The Kuvexians were now squared away in their newly fortified and 'hardened' quarters, dressed in the classic neon pink POW uniforms, having been checked and searched. Job done, it seemed. "Alright team - let's hand this one over to the infantry." The Elysian officer called to the others, sending a message to Aoba and Koyama - 'Initial construction complete, should be fit for purpose, feel free to start guard rotas.'

As Thad came onto the deck he seen Mochi off in the distance. He looked around and was impressed they managed to turn this area of the ship into a small jail for the guests. A fitting location for our kuvvy captives. He moved closer and when he was within ear shot, he yelled out to Mochi. "Hello friend, I seemed to have missed the fun of rigging the ship." A smile was across his face as he approached.

Mochi turned his head to the sound of the familiar voice and nodded in greeting, throwing the oily rag he had been using into one of the now-empty parts boxes. While the Elysian wasn't quite sure where their relationship ranked on a scale of 'colleague' to 'friend', Mochi didn't mind the greeting. Nobody seemed to be snooping on the interaction, so saluting and such didn't matter much to Mochi in this case.

"Hey, Thaddeus-hei." The blonde tilted his head in curiosity, his messy hair swishing a little with the action. "We're just wrapping up - what did you wanna chat about?" A polite, friendly smile was offered in return while he spoke.

YSS Resurgence - Medical Lab

Frank now bandaged with his internal systems working on repairing the artificial skin Would make his way to medbay to check on Cassie. Once there he would lean up against the wall with fresh bandages of his face and side. "See your still kicking, you gonna do alright?"

"I'm okay, I think I just have a concussion and some burns," Cassie replied from the bed, surrounded by scanning equipment.

"You have bleeding in the brain, lacerations, severe bruising, and two aether burns that fully penetrated your body," Poppy corrected Cassie. "I'm going to give you some nanomachines now that will keep you from having a stroke," the nurse said. "I recommend sitting out this next part of the mission."

Frank shook his head. "Hey dont worry I'll keep everyone safe while you're out of commission. I'm built different after all." Turning his head to look at the scanning gear, he would chuckle. "You get punched in the face and shot in the back and your more banged up than the guy who took a shot to the dome and punctured torso, you keep this up and were gonna have to compare scars some time."

"Maybe next time we're in the shower," Cassie giggled. Then she made an angry cat noise when Poppy injected her with a hypo-spray.

"I'll hold you to that, I gotta go to the power armor bay but ill stop by when I return from the mission try not to have too much fun." he says with a chuckle as he headed out.

YSS Resurgence - Power Armor Bay

"Yayoi, this is Poppy. I have prescribed rest for Cassie, so that makes you the ranking available infantry soldier. I thought you should know," Poppy said over the power armor bay's intercom. In the background of the message they could hear Cassie saying "Don't fuck up!"

Frank entered the power armor bay looking around before rubbing the back of his head. "I'm kinda surprised no ones yelling at me for getting my power armor messed up as bad as it was." He said quietly while heading to meet with the rest of the team.

"I'm only a Nitô Hei," Norita told Frank as she continued to work on repairs to power armor. "I don't get to yell at anyone."

Sanda saw Frank enter the bay. "Well you don't look to badly beaten up. You good to go?"

"I'll live, Mostly just synthetic skin burns, and a busted coolant hose. however the coolant hose was repaired earlier so the synthetic skin should be healing on its own. that said the cybernetic armor should hold till the missions over after that I may need to contact my creator for that to be repaired."

Sanda had no idea what any of that meant so she just nodded and said, "Well I'm glad you're up and about." Sanda turned her attention back to Koyama and lowered her voice. "There was also another indecent with Maximus. I really don't know why the Captain allowed him to join us. He's not trusted by most of the crew and he's completely unprofessional."

"So will Thad be joining us in our next mission as well?" Frank said while looking to see if there was a spare daisy suit he could use.

Koyama wore a frown at the mention of Thad. She had been pondering on what would happen to the man, and now hearing this... Sighing, she walked around to stand in front of Sanda. "Likely we needed another body in the squad. He was busted down to Santo Hei again as far as I am aware," saying it dismissively for the Ranger's benefit. It wasn't much solace but given their current circumstance, it would have to do.

"As for if he will be joining you again, that is to be determined. Sanda-hei's report will clue me in further. If not, I will find a replacement, or offer to go myself if permitted or ordered."

Sanda rolled her shoulder has she pondered Koyama's words. She didn't know that Thad had been demoted. That was something at least. But not enough in her mind. Still it was good to know that Koyama had her back and would step in if needed. "Thank you Ma'am. I'll make sure to write a full report after this is all over."

The ship around them began to sparkle and shimmer with a bright teal glow, and everything went wavy for a moment as a deep thump sounded throughout the ship, and then things went back to normal.

Delmira will walk back into the power armor bay and walk over to her armor. "We jumped so I'm going to assume we are going to be heading out again soon." She said and would start to go over her own suit of power armor for any other obvious damage. "No idea where the hell Mia is or why she isnt responding to my calls. Somewhat worrying given all the shit as of late."

"Pardon me Ketsurui-Chui, do you happen to know if I can barrow some of your tools? If we're going back into battle soon I'm probably gonna need to clean the exposed optics on my face before we go." Frank stated trying to remain professional.

Koyama nodded, gesturing toward the toolbox.

YSS Resurgence - Bridge

"We've arrived in the Ahn Rhy star system, captain," Gabriela announced. "I have a course plotted to planet Valaad."

"Ahead full," Aoba replied. "Kalena, run a passive-only sensor sweep."

"We have unidentified ships, possibly pirates," Kalena said, closely looking over the sensor data. "They're changing course to intercept us."

Inside the cockpit

Zanven escorted the cargo ship down to the spaceport without any issue, given clearance relatively quickly he was asked about the skirmish that happened and Zanven just gave some small answer and told them it was fine. Nothing more needed to report. He did not even land on the planet as the cargo was offloaded quick and efficiently. "Zanven to Resurgence bridge...Cargo offload was successful, and we will be returning to convoy within the next few minutes." He reported in and idled above the spaceport, keeping a passive scan up to ensure that he was not ambushed.

Once back up above the planet and back into the convoy he saw the Yamatai ships that entered while he was away. The YSS Oblivion was impressive and with the threat contained they would likely oversee the formal scuttling of the ship and its resources that floated around. As soon as the convoy was back up and going, he noticed the Resurgence re apply its camouflage and Zanven piloted the Nodachi back up to provide over watch and look official. He then received coordinates for a FTL Jump. He quickly input the coordinates into the piloting computer and the calculations were made so that the jump could be done, the drive began to warm up and as the convoy made its jump he followed closely behind with an intake of breath that was sharp.

The Ahn Rhy Star Sytem...

Coming out of the jump he remembered to exhale as he felt everything return to normal. He maneuvered the Nodachi to catch up with the convoy as he also ran a passive radar sweep. The Resurgence was first to catch the unidentified craft first and he caught them not too soon after as they were in route to Valaad. "Brax to bridge, I see the unidentified ships on course to intercept. Shall I move to provide a speed bump and possibly deter?" Zanven was ready...he was not eager to get into a fight per say...but he had fucked up early on in this mission and he had nothing right now to fall back on...he needed to show he could earn his place still.

YSS Resurgence - Power Armor Bay

Frank would move over to the toolbox taking the required tools before finding a bench and began unwrapping his face. “If you don’t mind me speaking freely Ma’am, I’ve been asked in the past why I don’t Just transfer to a new body if I had to give a proper answer it's mostly out of worry about whether or not it would go off without a hitch. Plus, I like my current body hence why My creator is on speed dial if I need to contract him for more extensive repairs. He knows my operating system best heck he used to work for the people who made me.”

Taking a mechanics rag Frank began wiping the synthetic blood away from the wound letting the gunmetal armored cybernetics show, it's clear that the armor plating coats a more synthetic muscle tissue and bone underneath. Taking up a repair torch he would begin sealing parts of the skull armor to avoid bleeding to ensue. Wiping off the metal every so often and wincing as he works.

“I was designed to feel the initial pain from the past injuries, outside of that I don't feel much. On top of that I was designed to learn and adapt to my situation at least that's what my onboard digital info says. However, my creator tells me I’m more man than machine, but I don’t understand what he means by that as I don’t remember being human. I do recall expiring in a conflict as an android but the memories are quite fuzzy so I can’t remember much.”

Setting aside the repair torch Frank would pick up a set of pliers and fix them to one of the actuators on his jawline. Moving it manually as he gages the damage from the headshot. Satisfied with what he’s discovered he picks up the repair torch and would repair the minor damage to the actuator before testing his jaw again.

“Thank you, Ma’am, for letting me use the tools.” Frank said as he grabbed a clean rag and began cleaning the tools. Once satisfied with his process he would set the tools back in the box and put the rags in the respected receptacle before moving to gear up in the power armor bay.

"Brax, if we start using our active sensors we'll give ourselves away, but you can be our eyes and ears until we emerge from stealth," Aoba replied to the fighter pilot. "Go inspect the ships in the system and let us know what you find. There's some possibility the ships might be pirates and on the side of the people we are helping. So essentially if they look Kuvexian, we're going to sink them, and if they look like Nepleslian Reds or Black Syndicate, we're going to try to talk to them first," the captain explained.

An Rhy System

As the ships turned towards the Ahn Rhy system to make their deliveries, the desert world of Valaad loomed closer. The ships around it seemed to be either Yamataian, Nepleslian, or unregistered independent ships, with a scattering of Kuvexian designs of unknown affiliation. The ships heading towards the Star Army ships were of old but familiar types, which probably meant they were operated by humans.

Kuvvy Dungeon

Thad walked right up to Mochi and started to have a chat with him. "You see, a lot has been going on and things are just different here in Star Army. I was hoping you'd take a moment and walk me through just all that has been happening." He paused for a moment before he continued. "See, back in the old world Mia getting knocked up would just be a normal day. Yet here you are expected to get all serious about it. Which is odd to me since the mission always came first."

He placed his hands behind his head. "I was hoping you could help smooth things over. Otherwise I feel the captain is going to demote me into a janitor role for whatever reason. He already had me locked up and demoted once over all this. Since it was the only thing in the report that made sense." He let out a sigh as he covered the details.

In the cockpit...

Zanven knew the dangers of actively scanning, so when he was offered to be the eyes instead he took charge of the moment and veered away from the original flight path to go investigate. It was nice to have a mission, and he was giving some thought to possibly doing something else in the future...something that would allow him to have boots on the ground as well because this was...he felt entirely disconnected to the crew of the Resurgence. "Aye-Aye captain, Brax heading out." He said as he switched on his active scanners and began to check ships, using the A.I. to transmit ship identification over to the Resurgence. So far, everything was checking out, and each time he was hailed he gave the same rehearsed line. "Zanven Brax of Yamatai...performing an escort for a humanitarian mission. Just keeping my eyes open. If anything...other than me stands out please hail me." He would be cold, sounding more authoritative than what his rank granted him.

An Rhy System...

As the desert world of Valaad loomed in the distance and the ships prepared for their descent he was seeing ships that looked like they were Kuvy, and he attempted to hail the ships as they closed in. He was keeping his options open as he saw that they were closing in, being too curious was just as dangerous as the ones that were eager to blow up ships for the loot. "Zanven Brax of the Yamatai Empire performing an escort for a humanitarian mission...ships approaching please identify yourselves." He sent out the message and repeated it every 2 minutes until he got a response.

Deck 2

"All that's happened?" Mochi echoed back to Thad, furrowing his eyebrows a little, not quite understanding what he meant. As the other man continued, the Taii's expression changed to one of realisation. "Ah. I see." Mochi wiped his cheek, getting rid of a drop of oil that had smeared there. He was silent for a moment or two, considering the request, rubbing his stained hands together to clean them, in thought.

How to approach this delicately. "Getting the girl pregnant isn't the issue, Thad. The Captain believes you broke military law, you know that right?" Mochi raised an eyebrow, wondering how exactly Thad would have already been confined and demoted without knowing what the actual issue had been. "I'm sure you were told what you did wrong before you chose demotion?" The science officer let that hang there for a second or two, trying to jog Thad's memory. That was the process he'd read in officer training.

The Elysian sighed, moving on, "I wasn't on-scene until the end. I think Mia believed you had explosives and would use them." He paused, "I'm not certain on that point, but apparently you didn't surrender immediately when ordered, which was the other issue." Mochi shrugged, "If getting a girl pregnant was a crime, I'd be charged somewhere between twice and five times, I think." The Elysian smirked at the thought and how ridiculous it sounded.

After a moment, he added - "What report? Ah-" Mochi broke off as he looked at his wrist and the time. "Now I'm done here I need to be headed back towards the Bridge, need to check if the science console is manned for the new system." The officer nodded to Thad and turned to leave, "Oh-- It's Captain's ship, so it's usually best to go to him about issues directly, rather than a more junior officer like me. I can't smooth things over for you like that. It's just the two of us here right now, but outside of private conversations there's nothing I can do." The Elysian ruffled his wings and started towards the Bridge, adding under his breath, "Your family should have enough money for a lawyer if you're that concerned."

Deck 2

Thad listened to what Mochi had to say on this matter. It was finally starting to make sense all the crazy that took place. Though he was still confused by the reaction given that a smoke was far from being an explosive. It would seem his way of giving her a ring ended up almost getting him killed. The irony being the fact that is exactly what she was trying to stop. Thad tried his best but still ended up laughing at the matter.

"So let me get this straight. Mia thought I was armed with a bomb and the captain ordered a heavy assault to detain me. Oh, now that is rich." He had to take a moment to caught his breath. "Be honest in that I agreed with not knowing all the facts. Figured it would be better to put this behind me than to put up a fuss." He took a step forward. "Glad getting girls knocked up isn't a crime else we both be in trouble. Plus I am not sure I can stop being frisky with the crew you know what I mean." A grin reached ear to ear after that comment.

"Yeah, if it keeps being an issue I will bring it up to the captain so no worries there. Plus I was doing some research and I came across a memo on a captain Alastair. It would seem he is trying his hand at law and standing up for the little guy within Star Army. He seems to think command has gotten soft and needs more order within the ranks." He paused and moved towards Mochi and put a hand on his shoulder. "Thanks for clearing things up, I shall be more careful when I come up with more wedding ideas for Mia. Don't need the captain ordering the wedding cake to be shot up cause reason. Be a good way of getting the stripper killed." He again let out a good laugh as he removed his hand.

As the Resurgence and the cargo transport got closer to Valaad, the pirate ships joined the Yamataian ships and provided them with a safe escort to the planet, making sure the Kuvexian pirates didn't close on the transports. Resurgence, under the disguise of a transport, was able to reach Valaad after a short while, and they were cleared to land at the starport in Gate City.

Zanven received his credentials from the ships that came near and after a few minutes of talking it seemed like everything was clear. Zanven reached out to the bridge.
"Everything seems clear out here captain, on standbye for now." Zanven said as he felt some of the earlier tension leave his joints. As he watched the ships get their passes and head for the star port he was given the proper clearance as well, but chose to hang back in the air. His fuel and other reserves were still looking just fine.

As the cargo ship landed, Resurgence stayed nearby.

YSS Resurgence - Bridge

"At least someone knows how to greet us," Aoba smiled. "These people know better than to bite the hand that feeds," he added. He called Koyama, "This would be a good time to do one of those survey missions for the Empress," he suggested. "Put together a small away team and have our guys look around and see how this place is doing."

Koyama had helped repair and rearm the power armor strike team in short order. Having listened to Frank's tale, she had thanked him, and cocked her head as she heard Aoba's 'voice' in her head. Nodding to herself, the Neko first officer ticked off several people. "Pink-hei, Hoshi-hei, Yayoi-hei, and Frank-hei." was her recommendation, then added with an additional query, "Power Armor, Shosa?"

"I wouldn't want to give the wrong impression," Aoba said. "We're here to help, not to invade. A pretty face is more memorable than the MINDY's face-plate."

Koyama gave off the vague impression of a raised eyebrow at the mentions of a pretty face. "Of course, sir. Also, the armors have been repaired and rearmed as per your orders." she hastened to add before sending notice to each of those the woman had suggested in turn.

Mochi, having returned to the Bridge's science position, perked up at the mention of an away team opportunity. Especially one that would be more of a diplomatic endeavor than a combat one. "Hime, if you need additional hands, I'd be happy to join you."

YSS Resurgence - Armor Bay

"Gracias a Dios!" Sanda said as she took off her Mindy suit. She was very relieved to hear that she didn't have to wear the that suit and could put on some honest to goodness clothes. She quickly got dressed and then headed back to her quarters to quickly grab a few other items she might need for a planet-side mission.

"I take it we don't have to suit up, if that's that case I'm going to go find Mia and my clothes." Delmira said and worked on stashing her armor she was working on in its locker.

Koyama promptly poked one of Del's cheeks, "You are welcome to join if you wish." and then to Mochi, she sent, "Please, you are most welcome to join."

The neko's cheeks are soft and full of squish when Koyama pokes Delmira. "i will have to get clothes from my room since Mia isnt responding to my calls before we head out."

Koyama had stared flatly at Demira, shaking her head. "You are Nekovalkyrja." she countered, then gestured to her own body. She wore the bodysuit uniform, "You may project clothing as needed. However, if you wish, go gather your clothing. We will be in the shuttle bay."

Mochi sent a quick message back to Koyama, "What uniform and equipment would you like us to bring? This seems to be quite an interesting opportunity."

Koyama's response to the Elysian as simple: "The Shosa suggested a survey mission for the Empress." she had trusted the man thus far and his judgement, "But I would suggest a sidearm all the same."

"Thats is true but where am i going to conceal one of my pistols?" Delmira asked projecting some clothes.

Elsewhere on the ship
Yayoi walked the halls of the ship, as she thought about the system they were now located at. She heard that they were on a humanitarian mission so the chances of power armor use, was probably low.

YSS Resurgence - Shuttle Bay

Poppy reported to the shuttle bay for the away team, wearing a duty uniform with cargo pants, carrying a backpack full of medical gear, and carrying her pistol on a utility belt. She clipped a plastic bracelet around her wrist that would provide an indicator of radiation exposure.

Sanda soon reported to the shuttle bay as well. She had quickly changed into a fresh uniform and had taken a moment to wash the blood off her face. She also grabbed her camo-cloak had it draped over her shoulders in the off chance she might need to sneak away and do some scouting undetected. She also had her usual assortments of sidearms and blades. She nooded to Poppy and asked how Cassie was doing?

"Cassie is going to be okay, she just took a lot of bad knocks to the head," Poppy told Sanda. "I hate to leave her alone right now, and she hates not going on the away team. It's been 14 years since this planet was nuked by the Mishhu so most of the radioactive fallout is hopefully cleared up."

"Well she needs to recover. She'd be no good to us in her current state. I'm glad she's not in serious condition." Sanda said. She listend to Poppy telling the history of the planet. "Who lives here now?"

"Reds. independents, pirates. People with rough-skinned hands and rap sheets who can't get Yamataian or Nepleslian citizenship," Poppy replied.

"Reds?" Sanda perked up at the mention of Reds.

"Reds are an old Nepleslian faction that used terrorism and war to try to change the regime and unseat the Uesureyan Empire from power in Nepleslia. Their enemies were the greens, who collaborated with the Uesureyans. Eventually the greens led a genocidal war to wipe out the red faction and the survivors fled to Yamataian space where they have the protection of their old enemies, us. Now they mostly do mining jobs no one else will. Rough dudes. Think of a typical Nepleslian, but without all the progress made in the last 40 years," Poppy explained.

"Interesting." Sanda said. In truth, she knew all about the Reds. Her parents had been Red supporters. She and her sister had been sent to Yamatai to be out of the way of the fighting. She had never learned what had happened to her parents. She had always hoped that one day she would find them, or at the very least, find out what happened to them.

"They're into cloning," Poppy added. "They have a roster of people and when one dies, they bring them back. But their ST isn't updated so they don't have their memories. They come back as newbies ready to be recruited."

Sanda nodded her head but said nothing else. Not all the Red faction had been like that. Some just wanted to be left alone to govern themselves how they saw fit. She pushed the thoughts aside and moved to where the others were gathering.

Yayoi silently listened to the conversation around her. She’d heard of the Red Faction, though thought they were disbanded. She knew they should be careful here due to the situation.

Having got an idea of what the mission parameters were from Koyama, Mochi tapped into his experience with similar missions in the past, once to a place where the trees bled red. This, however, seemed far more habitable. The science officer opted for his working uniform, his SiZi and knife on his belt. A backpack filled with goodies and survey equipment was secured to his back. A remote drone circled tightly over the Elysian's head as he reported in. "Good to see you all."

Koyama had adjusted her belt as she approached Sanda, Poppy, and the others. "Cassie needs time. Pushing herself does no one any favors least of all her." her tone mild, "However, Pink-hei, if you wish to remain behind to tend to her, you are released. The choice is yours."

Delmira waked to the shuttle. "Man turns out i should have put some pants on after all." The neko had on a belt with both her pistols holstered she however looked to be in her regular uniform.

"Be mindful of sand then," was Koyama's wry response to Del. "And stray hands."

"All the jokes and comments i can make but your my commanding officer so i wont saying anything at the moment." Delmira said with a smirk

Thad just popped out of nowhere to add to the conversation. "If it helps, I can always be the stand in for Cassie. A little R&R mission would do me some good I think."

Mochi had been following the conversation about the Reds, although it was a bit of a faux pas in his opinion to do so where Nepleslians may hear or be involved in that conversation. It would be like if someone talked about the Elysian wars around him. Uncomfortable. With the surprise arrival of Thad, the science officer would blink incredulously but nod to the other man.

"¡Oh, Dios, no! ¡Por favor no!" Sanda moaned as Thad approached. She looked over at Koyama, hoping that the XO would not let him join.

Yayoi sighed and then placed her right hand gently on Sanda's shoulders in comfort. She knew how Sanda felt about Thad and she thought that Thad's presence might actually cause problems.

Koyama waved a hand imperiously at Delmira, "Be my guest. The situation is not serious." she countered the other Neko's comment with her own. And then to the Elysian offered a smile, raised an eyebrow at his equipment. "Good that you came, we can always use a science officer's take on the situation. I would like to include some analysis of Valaad's atmospheric readings, radiological levels whatever her Majesty may find useful."

As for Thad, the woman tilted her head, "The Shosa has ordered you to join? Or are you offering?" was her question as Yayoi worked on Sanda.

Mochi smiled pleasantly to Koyama, "Of course, I'm glad to be here, XO. I'll keep quiet and run my instruments unless you'd prefer otherwise." The Elysian winked, his multi-colored wings rustling against the backpack. It would be nice to see how Koyama fared as away team leader and he didn't want to accidentally butt in. However, Mochi would be happy to lend mentorship if she wanted it.

"I seen the call but was not given a direct order. So I guess I am voluntold kind of." Thad replied back. {which character is speaking for those not in the jp?}

Delmira looked at Thad as he walked in and frowned a bit. "Well lets just say i would rather you touch me rather than someone like Thad."

Sanda glanced at behind her at Yayoi and sighed. She nodded to her fellow Ranger, grateful for the support. Having Maximus anywhere near her got her dander up.

The princess rolled her eyes at Delmira, then to Thad she nodded curtly, "If you are volunteering, then you may come. However, you will be watched." with a glance to Mochi she gestured, "Taii, will you be my second in command?"

The only other officer on the away team glanced to its other members, just to check who was participating. By the looks of things, he was the obvious choice for Koyama, unless it would be more beneficial to see how one of their enlisted crew acted in the 2IC position. In fact, that might be quite interesting. Rubbing his chin for a moment, Mochi replied. "I think it might be interesting to have a potential NCO volunteer. I can always step in if the situation requires, Koyama-chui?"

"That sounds like a plan to me. So should I lead in the front so you can check my rear or should I bring up the rear and you look over your shoulder?" Thad asked with a big smirk on his face.

"¡Seriamente! ¿¡Cómo es que este tipo sigue siendo parte del Ejército Estelar!?" Sanda spat out. She turned to Koyama. "Ma'am, I don't think that Maximus-hei has any business being on this mission. He has yet to show any professionalism in as a soldier of the Star Army. Quite frankly, he's a disgrace to the uniform."

"You know what? I think I'm going to wear something, i think the power armor bay has spare bodysuits." Delmira said and turned around.

"Why would she think that?" Poppy scratched her head. CFWEP cans or something?"

Frank joined the others in the shuttle bay wearing a new infantry uniform and gear. With standard rifle on his back. His face was covered with a full-faced helmet. "Sorry, im late team needed to clean up."

"I trust one of my rangers to take the lead," Koyama said in response to Thad's offer. But to Mochi she inclined her head, "Very well," and to Sanda, her look became harder, "Then you are now volunteered as my NCO." and back to Thad she looked up at him, a hand on one of her hips, "You're protection detail. For me." she was giving him a chance, and putting him in the hot seat at the same time by having Sanda act as her second.

Yayoi winced at Sanda’s outburst, but it was what Koyama said next that had her grinning to now end. “Happy Yule’ she whispered into Sanda’s ears. She thought Sanda was capable of being an NCO so she didn’t contest it. She wanted to let Sanda have her change.

Thad looked at the crew fighting over him joining or not. He was a little confuse by his question if they were going to watch his back or the other way around. It didn't matter to him either way. Though being on protection duty seemed like a nice change of pace. "You got it."

Sanda's mouth kept opening and closing for a moment, as if her mouth still worked but her brain wasn't. Finally she got traction again and she just stared at Koyama, waiting for the other shoe to drop. When it didn't Sanda stood up straighter. "Yes Ma'am. Thank you Ma'am." She was shocked really. Her outburst should have gotten her a reprimand. She would make sure that Koyama's faith in her was justified.

Delmira returned to the hanger soon after tugging at a bodysuit she put before overlaying a set of casual clothes over it. The neko looked at Sanda and then the others. "What happened while i was gone?"

Koyama sent a brief text to Mochi, 'Well?' was the question. Of which it was clear. She had just set Thad up for redemption and put him at the mercy of Sanda, while also giving Sanda the chance to prove herself.

Mochi sent a return message to Koyama. "Good choice putting Thad somewhere he can regain trust from the others. I think Sanda was out of line - Thad already paid his penance and we all need to move on. She's not an SNCO yet, staffing and discipline isn't to comment on."

Zanven hovered near the hangar bay, wanting to be sure to escort the away team to the LZ, he was not expecting opposition here and there were now orders for the away team to go down and survey the area for the Empire. He might get to land if he had orders to do so, he did patch the comms to the hangar as he decided to ask how the away team was.
"Hey you guys, I promise not to blow up any ships this time around, how are we all feeling?" He said as he was just at this point...bored.

"Doing okay," Poppy replied to Zanven. "Everything look okay out there?"

"So far everything looks fine since we received another escort party. The other cargo ships have landed and so far I am just thinking about how I may have been able to disable that ship with a little more precision...how many POW's did we take on?" He replied back in a calm tone.

Thad reached up and rubbed the back of his head. "Welp, looks like your the boss Sanda. Congrats and may you lead us well."

Frank would watch the crew for a bit before asking. "Look I know I'm the new guy but can someone tell me why you all have a hatred for Thad?"

"Lets just say he was really stupid on multiple accounts and some of us even are in a relationship with him which also makes it worse." She will look at Thad "Wait wait you mean to say that Sanda is our official squad lead?"

"Really? the guy has a face only a mother could love." Frank said leaning back in his seat.

Koyama then looked to Sanda again, gesturing, "Well?" while she was in command, this as Sanda's chance to shine, and it was clear the Neko wanted to get on with it. And to forestall the Ranger from blurting anything out on the android's question.

Sanda ignored Thad's congrats. If she had really been in charge she would have ordered Thad to remain behind. But Koyama had already give him an assignment. As long as she didn't have to deal with him. She nodded to Koyama. "Yes Ma'am."

Mochi quietly observed the others, supporting Koyama as she required. Flexing his telepathy was good practice. The only input he gave outside of that was a withering look to Sanda, whom he saw potential in but at times like this was too hot headed for her own good. Perhaps his expression towards her might pep her in the right direction.

Koyama returned a text to the Elysian, 'I see potential in her. By putting Thaddeaus as my guard, it gives him a chance to prove himself. Not only to me but to his peers. Sanda-hei included. I wish to see how she handles the power given to her.'

The XO wanted to see if the Nepleslian Ranger would abuse her power or not. The implications were there. Thad was her guard, Sanda was her NCO, but she was in command. It was a test.

Mochi sent a quick telepathic reply, "I agree entirely with the choices. I'd do the same in your position. A good NCO pulls the team together, it'll be interesting to see how Sanda does with NCO duties with a team she may have personal issues with."

"Hey Frank, your mother did say I had a pretty face!" Thad yelled out.

"So your over a hundred years and somehow can talk to dead people now too? classy Thad." frank said with a mildly board tone. "scratch that i see now why he can get on your alls nerves."

Sanda turned to the rest of the team. "Let's stow the ideal talk for now and get these crates unloaded!" Sanda glanced at Yayoi and nodded to her. "Blade," Calling her by her callsign in the field. "Take a casual look around the area." Yayoi would understand the implications. To the rest of them. "The rest of you will start unloading the crates. After we have them unloaded we'll take a look around the area."

Yayoi saluted Sanda and nodded her head. “Yes, ma’am,” she replied as Sanda gave her her orders. She indeed understood the implications. She felt proud of Sanda and excited to see how she performed her duties. She glanced to the others before proceeding with what she was asked to do.

Blade? That was a fancy callsign. Mochi been stuck with the name of a dessert, but it had grown on him since Eden had first coined it during his first posting. The Elysian caught Yayoi saluting Sanda and swiftly shook his head so that she could see it, his eyes wide. Hopefully she would catch his meaning. Wrong move.

Yayoi caught the look Mochi gave her, and quickly lowered her hands as she tried to keep the embarrassment from her face.

Zanven did leave the comm channel open as he communicated with the bridge. "Brax to Bridge, the Away team has still not come out yet, and my legs are feeling a little tired, it is all the same to you, may I go ahead and take that permission to land and help with the unloading...they may need it." He asked as he was looking for a place at the spaceport to land the gunship.

"Zanven, this is the captain, you are welcome to land and join the others but I doubt the logistics people need help uploading," Aoba replied over the channel.

"Aye- Aye, captain. I will land and get my legs stretched out and take a look around...never mind..." He says as he caught sight of the rather brash action a local was taking...When you gotta go..."I will just make sure I don't uh...let the locals mistake my ship for a urinal." He said as he landed at a pad that was unoccupied. Once on the landing pad and everything decompressed, he shut the motor functions of the Nodachi down before stepping out as some of the locals eyed the ship he kept his helmet on for the time being. The A.I. of the Nodachi was giving him live readouts as he stepped away and locked the damn thing.

As Zanven circled the starport he caught a glimpse of a mutant dude taking a dump on the edges of it. This place wasn't the classiest...

"Yes Ma'am." Delmira headed over and start to help unload crates.

Thad also followed the order to help unload the crates. And in perfect fashion which Thad always did, removed his shirt so it would not get it dirty.

"Please go back," one of the cargo ship's NCOs told Delmira and Thad. Forklift after forklift went by behind him, moving dozens and dozens of the mystery containers into a warehouse nearby. "We don't need any assistance." From the looks of it, the cargo ship's crew had quite a few orange panels.

"Aye Ma'am" Frank stated as he helped unload the crates "Excuse me ma'am I'd like to request that once were done here we have a arm-wrestling contest between me and Thad."

Sanda glanced at Frank and shook her head. "You can do whatever you want when you're off duty but I would recommend staying as far away as Maximus as possible. Right now we have a job to do."

Thad listened to the order of going back and to get a forklift. He had already turned his attention and missed the part about not needing help. Which he felt a little silly since it would be way faster and he could show off his mad driving skills too.

Koyama looked to Mochi, "Did you research Valaad at all?" she asked as Sanda barked out her orders and saw people jumping to see them through. While she herself stepped down the ramp past the forklifts, waiting for the Taii to join her.

Mochi, not exactly finding manual labor fitting for his position at this very moment, was all too happy to join Koyama at her request. His drone buzzed lightly a number of inches above them. "Aye, I did. Quite a storied history. It'll be interesting to do a proper survey." The Elysian cupped his hands together behind his back in an at-ease position as he watched the crates move. "I take it you read the records too?"

Zanven walked over and chuckled as he looked at the away team starting to offload the crates. "Need a hand?" He would ask before grabbing a few of the top load crates to move them over to a support vehicle.

At this point the crew of the cargo ship started physically pushing the Resurgence's crew away from the crates. "I said get lost!" the NCO repeated herself. "Are you fucking deaf?"

Mochi couldn't help but chuckle a bit at the logistics NCOs beating back the overenthusiastic away team. One of the rules you learned quickly after a while was don't mess with people's MOS'. Delegation to experts is usually the easiest path. Even when sometimes it feels easier to get stuck in or command them to step aside.

"Ya know, sometimes in this fucking helmet I can be, but I heard you that time." He said as he walked away after setting the crates he had carried down and with a sigh he would go over to the crew.

Frank pointed at Sanda, and said to the cargo people. "she told us to, sorry bout that." before nodding and walking away from the cargo.

Sanda realized that she might have made a mistake by telling the team to help unload. She had misunderstood what exactly they were suppose to be doing. She moved over to Koyama and asked quietly, "Ma'am, What exactly should we be doing now?" She need some direction if she was going to be an acting NCO.

Aoba's voice came over the communications net. "Away team, this is the captain, I've just got a call from the other ship's captain and she's asked us not to get involved with her ship's unloading operations due to operational secrecy. She also says she, quote, 'doesn't want a bunch of gunship jockeys in her well-oiled logistics machine.' Also...I asked you to do a survey of Valaad. Aoba out."

"I think...I am the only gunship jockey here...none of you all look like the type to fly the Nodachi." Zanven pointed at Thad and jokingly said before giving the burly bastard a well deserved joke of a shove. "Jesus you are built like a brick shit house...What happened after I left." He asked Thad in a quiet tone.

Delmira had backed away the frist time but by the second time she went over to Thad. "Hey if anyone is going to hit him its me." She said and will lead Thad away from the crates as best she could.

Koyama nodded thoughtfully, "Mmm," she tapped the side of her head. She had downloaded them. Her hands were clasped behind her back as the NCOs yelled for the rest of the crew to step the fuck off, the first officer already adding to her checks and balances of the situation.

"Not exactly the place for those like us. But, an order is an order," however difficult. But to Aoba she responded, "We are on it, Shosa." with a brief glance to Sanda, eyes growing large. She was waiting. "Our Science Officer is kitted for survey, one of our rangers is scouting ahead as we speak."

Mochi nodded in understanding to Koyama, then gently added, "I was curious to see how long it took for us to get back on-mission, but it seems the Captain has seen to that."

As the crates got delivered to the warehouse, a lot of heavily armed military-looking dudes crowded around the building to provide security. There were even a few tanks, mostly older models like the BW-6.

Thad took the hint and started to walk away from the crates. He'd find another time to give a look into what cargo they had delivered.

Koyama glanced to Sanda, "We survey. Our Taii has his equipment, you have sent Yayoi-hei ahead. We gather information, criminal elements, demographics, geological, atmospheric samples. Information, information, information."

"This is your chance, Sanda," she dropped the woman's rank.
