Oh I know I was just going in circles in my tiredness. I apologize if it seemed argumentativeI'm not arguing that Mochi, Vec, Koyoma or anybody should tell yayoi (or any squad leader) how to soldier or what specifically to do with her troops, just even in combat the team lead's job is to advance the mission as laid out by the Officer in charge. because yeah if the officer, bad ass or no, is nitpicking every decision then you're doing it wrong. If it's a road trip, the NCO is the guy driving while the officer is the guy with a map.
no problem I was also probably getting super nit picky about "advise"Oh I know I was just going in circles in my tiredness. I apologize if it seemed argumentative
Tachiko better step up on that leadership thenVoice

I love it!I think we should also have some kind of buddy system.
I mean even beyond that, battle buddies should be SOP. Combatant or non combatant, people shouldn't wander off alone, and they should be reporting where they're going to the person up the chain of command.I think we should also have some kind of buddy system.
I think he's looking for some sort of like standardized chain of command. While I still don't think our currently NCO infantry leadership should have the final say they should have clearly outlined duties.I think it's not bad. Although it will kinda depend on what the plan is. Is it going to be a fight your way to the control room as one group or is going to be like two teams split up to try and find the control room.
Seems alright to me.chain of command proposal is as follows.
Yayoi, Nito Heisho- Squad lead
Cassie, Nito Heisho- Second in command
Sanda, Joto Hei- Fire team lead
Frank, Itto Hei- fireteam lead
We have 2 rangers, 3 infantry and 1 soldier. A 6 man squad that can be broken into two 3 man fire teams or three 2 man fireteams. Yayoi is lead because PC should get priority.
If you are not a infantry, soldier or a ranger your character should defer to one of those 4 characters in a combat zone and its up to one of those 4 to keep the non infantry safe.
Frank being a Itto Hei surprises me.
chain of command is a bit muddy in SARP but im trying to approach this with knowledge i learned from my military buddies. Even though Mochi is actually a bad ass former spec ops dude who can fight. he would still have to defer to Yayoi in a combat situation but he can give her advice and make suggestions because when the shooting starts Mochi is not actually a soldier he's a science officer officially on paper as per MOS.
Right now the team is conducting a force recon to assess the situation on the machine planet. Based on past experience, there's possibly multiple hostile parties on the surface. Also what are or orders for the current missions. What are the mission goals. We are to fix a machine world but how? Do we have special equipment? Do we plug Delmira into it like shes going into the matrix?
Yes, always.I think it's not bad. Although it will kinda depend on what the plan is. Is it going to be a fight your way to the control room as one group or is going to be like two teams split up to try and find the control room.
I think we should also have some kind of buddy system. Like each non-combat is paired with a combat to keep an eye on them. This will help in case someone gets separate we know who should be with them.
Just throwing out some ideas. I'm really more interested in what Wes thinks at this point.
Let's talk more about it in the RP, but you have the chain of command above.I mean even beyond that, battle buddies should be SOP. Combatant or non combatant, people shouldn't wander off alone, and they should be reporting where they're going to the person up the chain of command.
I think he's looking for some sort of like standardized chain of command. While I still don't think our currently NCO infantry leadership should have the final say they should have clearly outlined duties.
Same with mission specialists. They shouldn't just be floating around aimlessly. They should be under the direct command of the Officer in charge, deployed to support combat units, or combat units should be deployed to support them.
In the end, everybody on the ground should understand the goals of the mission, their part in achieving that goal, what sorts of obstacles might prevent them from achieving that goal, who to talk to if things go belly up. And once a chain of command is established, official or ad hoc, it must be respected
whos the leader of the combat unit? The chain of command for the Resurgence is:
