NNN Headquarters, Funky City, Nepleslia Rising nonviolent antagonism between certain elements of the Free State and Yamatai recently reached a breaking point when Yamataian officials declared war on the bounty and chartering office known as the Opportunists Social Club after the blacklisting of Yamataian agents over an undisclosed bounty. Political analysts in Nepleslia find the move poorly planned and difficult to implement, due to the substantial number of civilians in Nepleslia and independent systems that they employ, and their integration into the Nepleslian Black market. Having several hundred offices in Nepleslian space alone, the Social Club provides training and employment to a large segment of the population that would...
International Conference Revisited Pisces Station - Today marked an exciting announcement by peaceful Empress Himiko. The Empress is reopening the International Relations Conference in the hopes of easing tensions between the big nations of local space. Elysia, Nepleslia, and also the Abwehran have been invited to attend. The announcement comes on the heels of a very strong treaty between Yamatai and Elysia in which Yamatai has pledged eternal brotherhood and support to the smaller nation of winged people. The Empress is expected to work with Nepleslia to restore good relations, and to try to resolve lingering issues with the United Outer Colonies.
The screen shows two thugs in the grimy lower sections of Funky City, and one suddenly being pulled up by a crane and dropped into a newly built settlement with what appears to be a blue and unsmogged sky, each side being show in a vertical split screen. They both seem to go about their jobs, pulling off heists, robbing stores and outrunning the police, but the one still in Funky City and his pursuers begin to slow down and pant. By the end of the chase, the ones in the more urban setting find themselves in the hospital on respirator machines awaiting cybernetic lung transplants, while the criminal and officer in the colony are sitting on a terrace, enjoying a beer together while being waited on by numerous exotic-looking alien women...
For the first time since the Genocide, Free Space Radio transmits in high quality. The data feed, both video and audio, is clear and hi-res, and the signal is stable. A male-looking Freespacer automata is speaking, evidently from a starship corridor. Behind him, a large window shows a starry field with a purple nebula on the background, and a vast number of chaotic, colorful Freespacer starships of all sizes and shapes, no two of them looking alike. Many are visibly damaged and some are undergoing repairs: the sparks of welders and cutters flash across their hulls every now and then. The anchorman's face is a featureless metallic oval set with two large eyes glowing pale green. He wears a black tuxedo over a white shirt and a silken...
The standard stars, garish colors, barely-dressed women, and heavy metal kicked off the Nepleslian news cast, giving way to the also-standard attractive blonde anchorwoman in white and with a sizable bust. "Today, the Rok'Veru planetary house preliminary elections heated up today as the incumbent from the Rhine district, Walter Runzberg, was arrested by both planetary police and Intelligence Pacification Group officers." The space behind and to the right of the achorwoman's head turned to a photograph of the candidate, surrounded by what appeared to be both campaign staff, several very pudgy, and very scantily-dressed dwarf women who looked somewhat distressed, and police, all in a very nice hotel lobby, which just happened to be...
