News Stories

In-character news and updates from all over the Star Army universe!
The standard stars, garish colors, barely-dressed women, and heavy metal kicked off the Nepleslian news cast, giving way to the also-standard attractive blonde anchorwoman in white and with a sizable bust. "Today, the Rok'Veru planetary house preliminary elections heated up today as the incumbent from the Rhine district, Walter Runzberg, was arrested by both planetary police and Intelligence Pacification Group officers." The space behind and to the right of the achorwoman's head turned to a photograph of the candidate, surrounded by what appeared to be both campaign staff, several very pudgy, and very scantily-dressed dwarf women who looked somewhat distressed, and police, all in a very nice hotel lobby, which just happened to be...
"Good afternoon folks, we've had quite a day so far." Tom, the nondescript Channel 3 News anchor said at his desk in the studio, staring right into the camera. Next to his desk was a screen mounted on the back wall, which had a picture of the smouldering ruins of a pair of large buildings in the middle of a desert. "Early this morning on Delsauria, there was a massive fuckin' chemical explosion at the Pharmaceutical Company, Halogli." A picture of the ruins came onscreen, "Investigators sent to the scene are baffled as to what caused this, but survivors at the scene keep mentioning: 'Dude with Sideburns'. Experts are still baffled over the identity this 'dude'. Experts then deduced that chemical fumes may have confused the shit out of...
---Matriarchy Associated News Feed ---14:00 UOC Time ---Breaking News, Priority Transmission ---Origin: Nyli III Primary Settlement The news transmission sent by the Lorath Matriarchy Associated News was a priority transmission, causing other entertainment and news related transmissions within the matriarchy and on some UOC channels to switch to the broadcast. When the broadcast was received, the image of a Lorath woman with fair skin and shoulder length ice-blue hair appeared upon the screen. The look on her face was cold, intense, and without much feeling other than what was apparent anger. "We interrupt current transmissions to make an urgent announcement. An assassination attempt has been made upon the Royal Xiaah. At 13:45 this...
It has been confirmed that Nishitama City and its Logistics ship, the Atlas, have begun orbiting and accepting people from the Ketsurui Sanctuary. The city-ship, which can provide homes for 20,000 residents, has been slated to become a living place for former military personnel displaced by the military downsizing, as well as returning POWs of the SMX. The entire crew of the Nishitama consists of former Star Army of Yamatai personnel, honorably discharged after the downsizing of the military forces. While the owner of the ships has maintained ownership of the vessels, near carte blanché has been granted to the Empire in the assignment of living quarters and running of the city's governmental needs. Some homes have been set aside...
The transmission, both audio and video, is very low quality. It shows a rather humanoid-looking Type Four Freespacer, standing in front of a crudely painted gearwheel-sun-moon symbol of the Free State on a metallic wall. "Transmissions continue, despite the massive damage and communication failures suffered by our networks in the last months." It (she?) announces, in a surprisingly humanlike, young female voice. "The fighting is pretty much over in all known sectors, apart from some isolated pockets of pirate and guerrilla warfare targeting Fascist assets without much success." A graph appears at the side of the screen, showing the various Freespacer colonies, Fleets and Motherships and their losses. "The outcome of the genocide is...
