Let's rebuild the species guide. Instead of a huge awkward bulleted list on a mostly-empty page, I've been making the species guide into more of a gallery of thumbnails that actually shows what each species looks like. Check it out: https://wiki.stararmy.com/doku.php?id=guide:species

Hey Star Army,

Behind every active faction there's usually a person or small group of people who maintain its articles and basically manage its day-to-day business. This faction manager is the central point of contact for GMs who want to know if their plot ideas make sense in the context of that faction.

Lately due to a personal disagreement much of the site leadership has been involved in a dialogue about what rights a faction manager does or doesn't have, and we've concluded that...

 

I was thinking of making a subforum where we could post deals and freebies we found on sci-fi, gaming, and other geek culture stuff. Many of us on SARP are non-rich people who want to make the most of our funds, or want to have additional income.

Threads could be things like:

• Free eBooks we found on Amazon or other (legal) sites
  
• Sci-fi stuff you're selling on eBay, or found on eBay
• Commission threads where you are selling artwork
• A sticky of free online courses
• "I just...

Instead of having communications forums for each factions, I propose to merge all of them into one IC communication forum, and use thread prefixes to allow users to filter them by type (e.g. Star Army Orders, Nepleslian civilian traffic, etc). We could even add new types of communications. It's not really sustainable to keep adding new subforums every time a new faction is added, especially when the existing ones are uses so little.

Also, I'd like to do with with the IC news forums, too.
