Okay, so we currently have "Roleplaying/Setting Discussion & Questions" and "Roleplaying Planning & Discussion (OOC & Signups)" which are definitely too long and perhaps confusingly similar. So I'd like to get feedback on the idea of renaming these forums (and any other renaming/reorganizing ideas you might have that might make the forum better).

My proposal is to rename the RP/S SD&Q forum to "Setting Discussion" or perhaps "The Star Army Universe" (although this is already the forum...

 

I'm planning on working on the wiki tonight. The wiki may be temporarily disabled for editing as I will be working on it and I don't want want any edits made after my backup to be lost. Also the style of the wiki may revert to the Dokuwiki default style for some time.

The goal of tonight's maintenance is:

1. Software updates
2. Experiment with connecting the wiki to the forum's user database (I want your forum login to work on the wiki, so you don't have to make two accounts for Star...

 

The donation levels on the forum (a.k.a. Account Upgrades) are now expanded! In addition to the $10 tier, you can choose from other monthly levels or one-time donations.

Note that Star Army still has no paygated features. The donation options are for supporting the site.

All future donations to Star Army should go through the forums instead of the old donations page, unless you need a special option (then PM me for assistance). This helps me keep track of donators much more...

 

I will be updating the forum immediately after I get home to apply a security update. This will result in a brief downtime (probably less than 20 minutes) around 4:30pm. While the new files are being uploaded and installed, the board will display a message saying that is is being upgraded.

The forum upgrade process consists of:

1. Making backups
2. Uploading new files (once this starts, the forum will be closed)
3. Running the upgrade (after this, the forum will be accessible again)

 

I plan to update the Star Army forums to the newly-released version of XenForo tonight. You can read about XenForo 1.4 here. While the new files are open, the forums will display a message saying they are being upgraded. I don't expect this to take more than 30 minutes and do not anticipate any problems.

The upgrade process consists of:

1. Files backup via SSH
   
2. Database backup via SSH
3. Upload new files via SFTP (once this starts, the forum will be closed)
   
4. Run upgrade via...
