Hey SARP! Halloween is coming up and I'm brainstorming ideas for a Halloween event we can run in October to promote RP and community activity.

In past Octobers, we've done:

• Open RP Trick or Treat threads
• A pumpkin hunt
• Dress up your character (art)

I'd like to do at least the trick or treat threads (one per faction) and the character art thing. But I'm just one guy so I'm asking you all to see what your ideas are.

 

I've got a chance to get some free translation services with the site. So I'm asking you: if the Star Army supported another language, what language would you like to see support for?

The poll only has 10 options because that's the forum's limit, but you're free to insert them as your own suggestion in the replies. Some major languages that are not on there are Arabic, Hindi, and Mandarin.

Note that in the past (circa 2005) we've tried to provide limited support for Spanish and Japanese...

 

The server has been being pesky over the last 3 days and I think it may be because some robots are trying to index the site too hard. As a result, I've added Cloudflare CDN services, which will help cache the site and also protect us from DDOS type attacks. These are free but we can upgrade them later if we need to.

As a result of the above, you will probably notice a significant increase in the page load speeds throughout the site.

 

Okay, so we currently have "Roleplaying/Setting Discussion & Questions" and "Roleplaying Planning & Discussion (OOC & Signups)" which are definitely too long and perhaps confusingly similar. So I'd like to get feedback on the idea of renaming these forums (and any other renaming/reorganizing ideas you might have that might make the forum better).

My proposal is to rename the RP/S SD&Q forum to "Setting Discussion" or perhaps "The Star Army Universe" (although this is already the forum...
