Tio said with a smile to Melisson's suggestion, motioning to Sky Marshall Davis. "Sky Marshall, would you be willing to elect to cut down the number of delegates you have at the table?"

Elysia has yet to arrive, what is the hold up? If they do not arrive soon we will have to proceed. He whispered to Ayana.

Ayana shrugged again to Tio. She offered the aide a friendly polite smile as she was given her large mug of coffee. "Thank you."

She looked back at the Crown Prince with a soft frown as she whispered back, "I'm not sure what's keeping them." Her eyes looked towards her buzzing data pad, "Oh, it looks like someone else has sent me an e-mail." She reached for her data pad again and quickly read Maysaki's message with a odd expression. "Well... yeah," she muttered softly to herself, she figured it was a good thing to keep in mind when trying to make deals with her. She set the data pad down again.

Armistice, she thought to herself, How in Chiharu's name are we going to do this? She leaned forward, supporting her head with one of her hands as she tried to think through what she could do. She was at a loss as to make everything all better with Nepleslia. There was really only so much that they could really do- apologies, money for damages would only go so far. But really, aside from agreeing to the terms they had discussed in the revised treaty could they do to make it right? Giving them Uesu's head on a platter wasn't something really in their power to do right now, especially not with a Ketsurui Princess and former Empress heading their military- it was simply too much of a conflict of interest.

Judgement looked towards the Sky Marshall, then to the SMX interpreter, and then settled her gaze back upon Tio. Leaning forwards, she would take a deep breath and fold her paws on the table.

"If you are going to require this gentleman to enter the next round of talks without those who would aid him in getting his point across, perhaps it would not be too much to ask that you get rid of the gentleman standing in the shadows behind you, M'Lord?"

She lifted a paw and pointed towards where Creighton was standing.

"You may have forgotten that my people are more in touch with their natural roots, because of this, our senses are much more finely tuned than those like them."

She swept her extended paw to include the Nepleslians, and Melisson.

"I smell the fear on him, as well as the artificial substances that he has taken to further stimulate himself...Or were you hoping that we would not notice, and you would have extra protection for yourself, when you afford none to the rest of us?"

Quirking an eyebrow she would sit back and await the answer to her questions.

Davis looked at Flint and Eddy with a smile and nod. He spoke quietly so as not to draw attention to himself.

"Ah... Flint and Eddy... it appears our guests are slightly alarmed at the attendance of two large ID-SOLS as well as myself. I do not presume to force you from your seats--you were here first, of course--but do you wish to handle the negotiations in my stead? I trust both your capabilities, but please note that you must be extremely civil today."

Tio chewed on the inside of his cheek for a minute, and said out loud. "Mr. Marks if you could deactivate your shroud suit, show our guests you are unarmed and then proceed to the exit." he picked up his mug taking another sip. "Mr. Marks was here as an observer, I assure you he was here for your protection as much as mine;probably more so than the soldier standing outside of that door because he is loyal to me and not some chain of command. He is an employee of my family, and was here at my request. I apologize if that offends you, he will be leaving now."

Lovely, Ayana and I will transmit data via our pads to you. Feel free to go observe with the Senate. He issued to Creighton.

Tio turned his attention to Davis, he was prepared to speak to the man who his mother said was honorable and reasonable, the other two he did not know from a hole in the ground. He noted to Ayana, I am not sure if things will go well at all if Davis gets up from that chair.

Ayana looked at Tio and the Kohanaian oddly. Apparently, she had been completely unaware of the cloaked Mr. Marks. She looked at Tio again and nodded. "We can only hope that Davis will stay. We'll have to try a different approach if those men stay in his place," the senator replied telepathically to the Crown Prince's comment.

She sipped her coffee as she continued her line of thought of what exactly it is that she could really do here.

Eddy grimaced as he watched the events of the discovery of the unknown party. As if yeserdays fiasco of a conference wasn't enough, now Yamatai was doing this. "Any other unexpected surprises, Prince?" Eddy mumbled venomously...but before they could answer, Eddy continued on to answer Davis.

"If it isn't too much of a stretch, I think it would be more beneficial for all parties if I stayed, as well as Davis. Nepleslia is a democracy, and the voices of all of her people should be heard," Eddy stirred in his chair a bit, flitting a quick glance to his grimacing brother. "I represent Delsauria, one of the vital production bodies of Nepleslia. Although I mean no discredit to Sky Marshall Davis...I believe I hold her ideals more at heart than he does. I should be here to support him, and he support me, as well as the representatives of the Democratic Imperium's systems...which are currently not present," Can't imagine why... Eddy added sarcastically to himself at the end.

"Admiral Vanderhuge here, however, is only present as a representative of our military power. If you find him too intimidating...which isn't that hard to some, I admit, he can observe from our quarters and still serve his purpose of representing our military. Flint?" Eddy motioned towards his older sibling.

Flint looked flabbergasted for a moment before gruffing a sigh and standing up. The utterly massive ID-SOL shot Eddy a middle finger, jokingly of course, and lumbered towards the exit in humble agreement.

The Yamataian slowly faded into view with his arms crossed over his chest. The mask over his face was the only thing hiding his scowl and gaze. As Creighton slowly became visible there was no sign of weapons or tools on his person, just the suit itself.

This complicates matters, Crown Prince. I will return once this is done. Creighton telepathically sent. He slowly raised his arms and proceeded to walk towards the door. The frustration he was feeling was burning at him, the best he could do was slow his breath as he exited the room. The frustration only began to fuel his sentiments.

Seriously complicates... Creighton thought privately. As he moved beyond the threshold he turned to face the group. And made an apologetic bow. "My apologies, ambassadors." He said with surprising grace. Before he rose from the bow the doors would close and obscure him. Out of sight he rose with a quick move and began to seethe. Damn the Kohanians! Damn them all! He thought as he began to exit the concourse. He had a message to write.

Davis's eyes narrowed slightly at the departure of the masked visitor, before he turned to face the remaining persons with a smile.

"Security you say?" he quipped. "While I appreciate the effort, from yesterday's events, you must know that we have no hesitations supplying our own!"

He chuckled, trying to lighten the mood of the room. Of course the visitor was a spy, but such was the price of coming to another nation's summit.

"With your permission, of course, Prince," he said, motioning to Eddy, not needing to say anything.

"The Yamataian Star Empire has senators to represent diverse regions of their holdings as well," Melisson specified. "Just as Delsauria could be represented, they could represent Nataria, the Samurai Cluster and so on."

She set one elbow on her desk and propped her chin on the back of her hand. "I accept the Prince's presence as a mediator. He might be biased, but I think he can still be objective enough for the job. As far as I am concerned Yamatai has only one person speaking for them and that's her." She pointed Ayana. "I really suggest we stick to only one representant out of fairness and out of a desire to avoid what happened yesterday - otherwise, I would keep my mouth shut."

Another message would soon be delivered to Ayana's data pad.

Sen.Aegis said:
Senator Ayana,

In my people's previous encounter with Melisson, we have found that she is quite sane and reasonable in her negotiations, even taking lengths to be considerate to her hosts. Despite her sanity however, she will not yield to compromise, she knows what she wants, and if she does not get it, she will go to great lengths to get things her way or to make a statement that she should not be trifled with.

Ayana, my best suggestion is to at least consider whatever proposition she puts forward, an outright denial of her wants will simply lead to continued war.

As for the Nepleslians, what little we know of them is this; they may seem to be a barbaric people, however, they have an elaborate system of ethics and morals which are their very own, and it would be in the Empire's best interests to respect their wants and needs, if the Empire does not, I suspect that they will be difficult to console and they would be unwilling to submit to any concessions.

If any other ideas come to my mind, I will be sure to communicate them.

Best of luck,
Aegis

"With all due respect, Melisson, I do not think I was the problem at yesterday's conference," Eddy said. "There was a lot of goading between certain people last time we were here," He spoke, casting a wayward glance to his left, then back to the room. "That is what broke down the procession. As luck would have it, a few of those individuals are not present today. Hopefully now some work can be accomplished, and I would like to remain to make certain Nepleslia is properly represented."

"Well, I expected someone to spring the 'we are better so we don't have to' argument; but I expected it from the Elysians and not the Nepleslians." Melisson shrugged, bored. "Whatever. Can we just get the formalities out of the way so we can start? If the Elysians have failed to show up, I expect that's because they did not care to be represented today."

Karael Malach, the Senatorial Legate, entered the room with a quiet apology to her tardiness. She took her seat alone; no one was with her.

"Oh well, there you go," Melisson smiled and gave a little shrug. "The first topic is to determine the wants of each nations in regard to what they would see as the ideal direction for this small corner of the universe. Shall we proceed?"

Ayana nodded as she held her coffee mug idly as she waited for the others to acknowledge that they too were finally ready. She watched the others curiously, wondering who would speak up first.

Ayana waited a couple of moments and when no one volunteered to start she inwardly sighed and stood up.

"Good morning everyone and I would like to thank you all for coming back to us again today. Again, we would like to apologize for the... difficulties caused yesterday." She spoke very politely and bowed deeply to the other representatives.

"Yamatai as a nation would like to refocus our energy and strength to rebuilding our civilian sectors and regain some of our resources that were destroyed over the course of the past several years due to the war with the SMX. To accomplish this, we want to continue to explore uncharted systems and expand our nation to find new resources and habitable worlds.

In order for us to rebuild and expand, we want to down shift our military presence so we can better utilize our resources to build and defend rather then continue to destroy and attack. But we cannot in good conscience do this unless we feel secure as a nation that our neighbors are not going to rise up and attack us.

There is no war outside this station at the moment and there are no guns pointed at anyone's head. So we hope we can come to some sort of agreement between everyone here.

Mistress of Judgment, where are the Kohanians headed? I'd like to hear from you before you get lost in the shuffle of Nepleslia and Elysia."

Slowly, the lioness leaned forward and pressed the pads of her paws against the table, getting to her feet.

"The Kohanians are hoping that by being here at this gathering, that more people will pay attention to us, and the resources that we have to offer. As many of you know, we are not the forerunners of modern warfare. We have no war machines, no great spacecraft. But what we do have, and hope to share with others, is a world unspoiled by outside influence."

Looking around the room, she smiled softly.

"That is not to say that the life you all lead is not a wonderous and special thing, and I do not wish to say that if you were to share with us your knowledge and technology, that you would be corrupting our people and kingdoms. What I am saying is that currently, the Kohanian people, both those like myself, and the Furless Ones, have a lifestyle which focuses on getting in touch with one's inner adventurer. Our world immerses all in the What Used to Be."

"By the end of our meeting here, I would like to secure trade and tourism with those races gathered here, and set down a tentative agreement about what those who visit and set up shops on our soil, are allowed, and not allowed, to do or sell."

Biting her bottom lip with the tips of her fangs, Judgement slowly took the tip of her tail between her paws, and nodded that she had finished, returning to her seat.

Tio quietly took notes as Ayana and then the Lioness spoke. He looked up, looking towards Sky Marshall Davis and the other Nepleslians. He was most interested in what Melisson's words would be, expecting of course a picture of the universe which left his own nation at a disadvantage.

A message would soon appear on the datapads of the Sky Marshall and Eddy Vanderhuge. Even if the pads were on silent, they emitted loud beeps. The beeps were, of course, directed to sound via the SecureNET feed now dumping into them.

IPG.SecureNET said:
Recommending IMMEDIATE WITHDRAWAL FROM CONFERENCE. Yamataian Vessel under the command of Hanako Ketsurui has destroyed deployed, stealthed IPG vessel 2 LY north of P1-10. IPG Operators have been deployed outside the conference room to escort you out, should you choose to leave. They have been instructed to hold fire unless fired upon.

Outside the room, a small troop of men jogged to the entrance of the area, and took up positions outside it, about 20 meters away from the door, watching the crowd around them. They didn't brandish weapons, but a very close look might reveal a flash of gun metal on them. They all displayed IPG badges on their belts or jackets.
