Wardroom

"Good morning," Hanako replied to Akemi, looking up from her computer pad. "There is oatmeal and fruit and Ramiro is making more."

As Ramiro found and started to cook the meat, sizzling sounds came from the galley and the smell quickly overtook the rain smell left over from when the window was broken during the crash landing. Although the window had been replaced by the KFY technicians, there were still puddles on the lower level of the wardroom. As the new engines were put into place, the ship lurched and rattled slightly from time to time.

Takeyu received an update from the KFY techs informing him the new engines were hooked up and they were starting to get the armor back on around them. The interiors of the pylons were still scorched and trashed, though.

"I apologize for not volunteering myself sooner. I should have as the most junior and lowest ranking." Akemi quickly headed to the kitchen to help Ramiro. "May I be of any assistance sir?" she asked him. As he cooked Akemi kept a close eye on what he did to ensure no harm would come to him or the crew from his handiwork. When the food was ready to serve she went about setting it out along with the appropriate utensils.

Takeyu let out a low grumble when he read that the pylons hadn't been repaired yet, though hearing that the engines were in place was ok, they were useless with the pylons being trashed. He then sent in a request for an ETA on repairs to both pylons.

"Shosho?" Takeyu turned in his seat momentarily. "New engines are in, but the pylons are still trashed, I'm getting an estimate on when they'll be repaired."

"Thank you, Shosho." Helen spoke, as she took her seat at the table, and began to slice pieces off of an apple, which she ate in rather large chunks. As she listened to Hanako, she nodded lightly, merely listening to the conversation. She really had nothing of value to say on the subject yet, and it left her to merely devour yet another apple, before something did come to mind. "I'd like to check over some logs from the YSS Plumeria. Perhaps, piece together a bigger picture based on data gathered over the years. From what I've seen so far, there is a long trail of breadcrumbs which the First Expeditionary Fleet and SAINT has been following, and we're likely only half way to the loaf, even after the feats of the Miharu's crew."

"Very well," Hanako told Helen. She also nodded in acknowledgement to Takeyu. It was likely the lower parts of the ship were still feeling the aftereffects of all the seawater, too. Outside the window, she caught a glance of a new anti-starship turret being moved into place.

The food smelled good, and the ceremony time was getting close.

"Yes, of course," Ramiro responded. "Can you peel apart the bacon while I do the sausages?" As he cooked, Ramiro glanced over to make sure that the Hei wasn't doing anything wrong.

As the ship shook Ramiro could be heard yelling. "Ow, son of a..." A few minutes later he emerged with two trays, one containing several dozen bacon strips, and other containing equally as many sausage links. "Order's up!" Upon placing the trays down for the crew to access, it could be seen that the sausages were a little dark. "Sorry about the sausages, it seems they burnt a little while I was tending to burns of my own." Ramiro motioned toward his left leg, which could be seen with a wet rag wrapped around his calf. "They couldn't have picked a worse time to attach the engines, just as I was draining the grease."

Reika, last in the line was of course last to finish her medical examination and prepare a mental back-up. Once the task was done, she followed after the others to join them for breakfast. She couldn't remember the last time she actually had a bite to eat.

Wardroom
When the neko operative arrived in the wardroom, she saw that the rest of the crew were just getting started with their morning meal. Some food had been laid out on the table, but not everyone was seated and eating yet.

Reika nodded her head respectfully in greeting toward the officers already seated, "Shôshô, Shosa, Nitô Juni... Good morning to you all." She smiled softly, depositing herself in one of the vacant seats.

Sune looked at the items that Ramiro had brown, the smell of bacon was enticing. But the sight of the sausage brought back memories of the processing facility. Sune found his appetite waning. "Hopefully you did not burn yourself too badly, grease burns can be tricky. You might want to get our medic to check it out." he said to Ramiro. He then pulled out his ICP and moved to the other end of the table. He started a series of queries into the Miharu logs, along with the Eucharis ones, looking for patterns and unexplained behavior.

Before bringing out the oatmeal, Akemi had stirred in some cinnamon and added some blueberries and strawberry chunks to each bowl to give it additional flavor.

When she sat down to have her meal, she took a seat away from the higher ranking members of the crew and ate quietly in an expeditious and refined manner.

Hakujou walked into the wardroom just as Akemi started delivering the oatmeal. She regarded the food for a second before wandering over to a bowl of fruit and collecting a handful, then drifting over to the tableware and collecting herself a small plate. After that, she sat herself down with the others and calmly waited till they were served their grain gruel.

Finished with her meal, Akemi silently waited for the others. After they were done she took their dishes, washed them and stored them away along with any left over food. Then she swiftly headed to her room to put on her stockings, cap and dress coat in preparation for the ceremony.

Wardroom

"Good morning, Reika," Hanako greeted the intelligence specialists. "We are trying to sort through and gain useful information from the logs of the YSS Miharu. I want you to assist Shosa Helen."

The Shosho turned to Takeyu. "You should get started on fixing the pylons after the ceremony," she told him. "Speed is important as we take advantage of the recent NMX losses so the ship needs to be ready." Takeyu got a message back that the KFY techs were focusing on major systems only and were working to get the ship operational by tomorrow morning.

Next, Hanako ate some of the well-done sausage while trying not to think of Mishhuvurthyar more than she had to. Once she was done eating, she stood up from her seat. "We will have to continue this later. I will see you out on the tarmac." With a nod to the crew, Hanako proceeded to the exit and went back to her cabin and got her black frock coat on and carefully picked up her well-maintained sailor cap before flying all the way to the cargo bay level.

The cargo deck was still a disaster. Victory and Pineapple were down here working in the cold with the rear ramp open for light because the lights were all blown out above. The deck was covered in sandy mud and seaweed and smelled like salt and dead fish and there were puddles of standing water. Thankfully, most of the cargo was in sealed starship cargo containers.

Sune took Hanako's statement about the tarmac as a signal to leave the wardroom. He turned off his ICP and made his way to his cabin. He noted the sealed packages still lying in the storage locker and made a mental note to unpack them.

He took out the Service uniform, while not as stylish as the Dress Uniform that was in place when he enlisted, given the weather outside, it would be more practical.

He put on the coat and hat and made his way through the ship. When he reached the cargo bay he took a moment to once again survey the damage that 'friendly' fire had caused. He shook his head, this was not the first time that they had to kill a former ally.

He made is way through the cargo bay, doing is best to avoid stepping in the mud and puddles. One he got to the ramp, looked out at Kyoto, the city to him seemed to be holding its breath. There were signs of activity, but nothing like Kyoto usually was at this time of day.

He walked down the ramp and waited for the crew to arrive.

Being all set to go, Akemi arrived shortly after Sune at the designated location. She too took great care when traversing the cargo bay to avoid sullying her uniform. She didn't think much about what the proceedings would entail. She'd simply find out once they began.

Takeyu nodded. "Aye Ma'am," and continued to monitor the repairs, when he got the message he was about to tell Hanako when he saw her leave and decided to just tell her after the ceremony. He got up from his seat, grabbed a few strips of bacon and nibbled on them for a few before he was done. He double checked his uniform, making certain there were no stains on it from his eating, then placed his cap on.

Then he headed out of the Wardroom and to the cargohold, taking in the sight with a sigh before walking out through the ramp and looking out over the city. "Hope Layven is alright..." he muttered with worry as he stared.

Wardroom

Ramiro nodded to Hanako before picking up the trays of food. "Guys, I'm going to go refrigerate these. If you get hungry later in the day, you know where to find them." He walked back into the kitchen, made some noise as he put the stuff away, and emerged with a handful of bacon on a napkin. As he stuffed his face he rushed towards his cabin to change his pants that now had a grease stain on them.

Outside the Eucharis

Ramiro emerged a minute or two after Sune, in his Service Uniform, placing the cap on his head as he exited the ship.

Outside

Hanako managed to get down the ramp and onto the tarmac behind the Eucharis without slipping on the ice, which was turned out to be more difficult than expected. The heels she was wearing were probably a contributing factor. The Shosho was also struck immediately by the intensity of the cold air and moderate wind that was blowing. She wanted to turn around and go back to her cabin to get the liner for her coat. The dress coats were designed as a uniform in the same way that a suit jacket would be, rather than a winter coat. Without the winter liner, the insulation was minimal. At least the hat felt nice. Hanako tried not to shiver and resolved to keep the ceremony short.

In the distance, they could hear occasional gunshots and overhead, there were Hayabusa starfighters flying low and slowly around the city perimeter looking for leftovers. Parked near the Eucharis were two cranes and several flatbed trucks along with some white and red Fleet Yards shuttles and a CRDM module.

Akemi had a substantially easier time handling the elements. Wearing her standard issue boots made descending the ramp much less tricky. She also happened to take the weather into account and donned her coat with its lining. Her legs and face still felt quite cold, but she did her utmost not to show it. As she waited for the others to gather and Hanako to begin she stood straight at attention. Were those around her to start assuming a formation she would try to fit into it quickly.

Sune walked over to where Hanako chose to stand. He was grateful that he had his coat liner, but his hands and face felt the effects of the temperature. The biting wind and the occasional frozen precipitation stinging his skin was not something he was used to.

He scowled a bit when his cap tried to depart and he adjusted it. Weather... bah... give me a nice environmentally controlled area. he thought, at least this time we have 'proper' clothing unlike after the first trip to Nataria.

Once he was in position he turned to the others, he looked briefly at Hanako. "Lovely weather ma'am for an outdoor ceremony." he said with a hint of sarcasm, and a wink.

He then assumed attention, looked at the gathering crew and "Fall in by rank and seniority." he called out.

"Every warehouse and hangar for miles is full of damaged ships, NMX neko prisoners, or makeshift medical wards," Hanako told Sune. "We will keep it short."

Hanako stood in front of the formation, facing them.
