Shuttle 1

As the Nekos and Crewmembers sang the Anthem of Yamatai, Bors hummed along to the parts he knew while running threw some last minute checks on his gear. Well at least their pre-combat jitters are gone he thought examining a fresh magazine before sliding it into his weapon, The real test will be to see how they hold up when they start getting shot at, or worse. Images of giant squid like creatures eating the neko infantry raced through his head, causing him to shake his head trying to get the image out, Wouldn’t wish that on anybody, well except for a few people back on Neplesia but that’s about it. Bors thought taking one last puff of his E-cig before putting it away and donning his helmet, which made a reassuring 'click' as it sealed into place.

As soon as Sune gave the word that they would be breaching soon, Bors patted his combat knife for reasurance and stood up, readying himself to move when the order was given.

Shuttle 1

Slipping on her helmet and sealing it, Natsumi quickly checked over her power armor's systems, getting all green indicators as she adjusted to the suits O2 supply.

Next she checked the rifle she had been issues, its ammo clip in place, safety on, spare clips ready when needed. Then last she checked her sidearm. All was ready.

"So this is it then" she said to herself as the shuttle spun about and backed into place near the enemy stations hull.

Misato brought up the AI interface and started to run one last diagnostic, She was not going to repeat all her previous mistakes. As the AI ran through it's numbers and checks she checked the magazine on her weapon and made sure her pistol was still where she strapped it to her lower leg. As the shuttle made its final turn she stood and moved to rear hatch to be the first to debark. Her thumb found a scratch on the grip and she started to rub it with out thinking about it.

Shuttle 2

The soldiers all around Mitsuko began busying themselves as the Warrant Officer spoke up. She was barely able to find room to lift up her helmet and settle it into its proper place. She let out a sigh, closing her eyes behind the visor for a moment, trying to relax. Soon enough she was trying to look busy as well, carefully patting herself down as she checked off a list of everything she'd brought along.

The pace of this mission was just adding to her anxiety. Mitsuko hoped someone was going to spell everything out for her soon. She began another list alongside the first, nervously glancing about the small shuttle as she tried to spot the others from the Eucharis, noting who outranked her so she would have somewhere to turn once things became hectic.

Inside the shuttles, armored bodies clattered together as the shuttles were rocked slightly by the impact of the strike modules against the enemy station’s crusty hull. They could hear a mechanical scraping as the blades rotated. In moments, the way was clear and each shuttle had two side-by-side entrance airlocks leading into The Nest. After a moment of silence, the inner doors of the airlocks hissed and opened to reveal the small interior of the airlock. Each airlock would probably fit about 5 to ten personnel so they would have to go through in small groups unless they wanted to just leave both sides of the airlock open.

In shuttle 1, one of the green infantry Nekovalkyrja looked back towards the Eucharis crew members, silently looking for a signal to open the outer airlock door and face the unknown on the other side.

Shuttle 1

Sune watched the status indicator. "First Squad on my command..... " He called out and hit the control to open the hatchs. "First Squad Deploy..... Second Squad stand up and move to the door, Nayacesen-Shoi, Second Squad is with you." He called out as he stepped out of the door.

As the door opened, the shuttle was quickly flooded by a wall of raw sewage and septic water from the tank they had accidentally cut into. Almost everyone was knocked over by the wave, and even the cockpits were flooded since their doors were open. The nasty water almost instantly rose to about shoulder level and then continued to rise more slowly as more air escaped into the waste tank.

As the flood of liquid poured in, Sune hit the controls on the panel. He overode the controls and switched off the forcefield and retracted the airlock tubes.

Obviously a malfunction in the airlock controls. They should never have opened with that kind of pressure variance. He thought, grateful that everyone had already sealed up.

As quickly as the shuttle had filled the liquid was sucked back out and out into space. Once the flow discontinued from both the tank and the shuttle, he restored the shields and the airlock tubes into position.

Shuttle 1

As the water flowed out, it left a thick sludge of fecal matter on the shuttle's floor and dripping off the team's packs and armor. A water line was left near the ceiling of the shuttle and everything below was soiled with sewage residue.

"The controls are shorted out!" the neko at the helm shouted, banging a fist on the crap covered cockpit console.

Shuttle 1

The sight of the raw sewage made Takeyu shake his head in digust, he was very glad he hadn't had a thing to eat before they started the mission though he wondered if anyone on his squad had. Glad I have a helmet that is blocking the stink.. otherwise I'd probably hurl right now..

Looking down at his armor, seeing the brown sludge and fecal waste on it, he grumbled and sighed. Oh this shit is not going to come out very easily....

Trying to put that matter aside, he turned to his squad. "Second squad, wait until first is out and set up, then we'll deploy behind them. Keep your eyes peeled for enemies, but don't open fire unless ordered to," he gave emphasis on the 'do not fire' part for a moment then turned toward the Neko in the cockpit.

"Any chance you can fix it?" he asked, already feeling he knew the answer, but already coming up with an idea on how to use the shuttle if his feeling was right.

Shuttle 1

"I don't have the spare parts we need," one fo the infantry technicians said, looking over the fried circuity. "It might work if we let it dry out more."

Shuttle 2

As the second shuttle breached the enemy hull nearby, they suffered the same foul fate as the first one, but with less liquid.

The pilot looked to Helen in disbelief...and then wisecracked, "You have got to be shitting me."

Waste Facility

The area outside the shuttle airlocks was a huge cavernous metallic container with rounded sides and filled with a thick layer of sludge and scum and clogged with various garbage. The gravity in the area was pulling in the direction of the hull, which meant the team was basically emerging in the room’s floor and had to climb up a crater-like openings of organic biowaste to get to "ground level," and every footstep only caused more of it to tumble down into the shuttles.

To the side were medal rungs leading up to a maintenance catwalk with red lights running over it. There was a thick metal maintenance hatch at the end of the catwalk. In addition, there were large pipes going in and out of the waste tank, with the input one pouring in unclean-looking water. There was no sign of any enemies in the area, although there were some sorts of mutant eel things flapping in the "mud" as they asphyxiated due to either the lack of Oxygen or water.

Ramiro jumped when the sludge all came out, but was glad that he had already sealed his suit. Once the shuttle had been drained he looked over to Helen for orders, but decided time was of essence and that as a Warrant Officer it was responsibility to give orders where there were none.

"All teams, breach! First two squads inside, clear the area of any hostiles and set up temporary security at all exits." Ramiro called out as he waved an arm towards the Nest. Waiting for the first couple of squads to breach through, Ramiro joined in the fray, rushing into the Nest. Once inside, he moved out of the way so more soldiers could come in and then took a knee, shouldering his rifle and doing a passive scan of the area.

A lone battle pod wandered over to the area where the shuttles had breached the hull, looking for the source of the pressure loss in the compartment. As it grew closer, it first spotted the released fluid, but the shuttles were camouflaged with stealth devices and volumetric cloaking devices. It didn't seem to notice them just yet but it came to a halt close by. Its orange sensor eye glowed ominously and could be seen from the cockpit window the enemy tried to figure out what it was dealing with. Meanwhile, the other half of the Century was on its way from the YSS Aurora. The two shuttles were drifting closer to The Nest and would be there in a few moments.

Inside the waste tank, the fifty Nekovalkyrja soldiers scrambled out of the shuttles and took up positions, with each Eucharis crew members getting a five-neko escort team while the remainder of the group was with the Century commander, Juni Signe.

Like the others, Akemi had thankfully put on her helmet before the hatch had opened. She too quickly backed away as the sludge entered the ship, though she wasn't bothered much by it. It was better than immediately meeting enemies. Perhaps entering this way would be especially good for concealing their presence. Hearing Ramiro's order, Akemi decided to be the first to enter with her team. She led the way for her soldiers and also had her AIES perform a passive scan of their surroundings. As she waded through the waste and surveyed the area, she noticed the rungs and made her way to them. She once more decided to go first and climbed them and then walked along the catwalk until she reached the hatch. "There's an exit up here," she reported to Helen and Ramiro as she sent each of them an image of what she was looking at.

As Konoka, grumbling about the shitty state of her thankfully sealed suit, entered the Nest with her escort and the rest of her team, her green eyes widened when they spotted an orange sensor one.

Umm, Shosa? said Konoka, pointing it out panickedly. What is THAT? Is it going to be a problem?

After the wave of shit stabilized out Misato moved out into the Waste Facility looking for an exit. As she looked around she saw the metal rungs leading up, turning to the nearest trooper, "Cover me I'm going up that," pointing, "And try to locate a way out of this craptory. She shouldered her rifle and started up the rungs, all the while keeping an eye at the top and the catwalk.

Shuttle 1

Takeyu sighed and shook his head. "So, no shuttle for us to use later," he commented somewhat disappointingly but kind of figured this could happen.

He then made a motion for second squad to move out behind first, "take up positions along the inside and by the walls, keep your eyes peeled for enemies and report if you spot anything," he ordered and watched as the squad began to exit.

Then he turned into the cockpit and was about to address the pilot, when he saw something faint in the window, though he couldn't quite make it out due to the crud. "What is that.." he pondered curiously as he wiped away from the sludge that was in the way.

Though he still couldn't make it out, he assumed it had to be some kind of a warning light perhaps for the tanks, possibly something to alert personnel to overflow or pressure. Or, the other idea that crossed his mind, was a battle-pod, but he couldn't be certain of either right now. "Take things slow and cautiously," he said to himself but also the pilot.

Waste Facility

Misato and Akemi could see the hatch was a person-sized manually opened heavy steel door with a layer of rust on it. The main lever to open it was on the outside, but there was also a wheel they could turn to open it from inside. One of the infantry troops following Akemi shined her Type 33 NSP's flashlight on the door so they could see it better in the dim waste tank.

Brtunately near the door when the avalanche of waste came in and was knocked off his feet and into one of the Nekos behind him. After the waste subsided,Bors got back to his feet and helped the Neko he had inadvertently knocked down back up by pulling her up by the back of her collar.

Dusting himself off Bors headed for the airlock again, and this time was successful in getting out. As he exited the shuttle, Bors was surprised to see the five Nekos following him. Wish someone would of told me i had a squad... he thought glancing at the green Nekos, might as well make the best of it then.

Glancing around Bors tried to make sense of the situation, though that was quickly solved when he spotted Misato climbing up the metal rungs on the side of the waste facility. "Well looks like we found our exit" He said turning toward the Nekos behind him "You two follow her up, we will provide cover and then follow you up." As the two nekos Bors pointed out climbed up after Misato, Bors tapped the side of his rifle aginst his boot in an attempt to knock some of the loose crap off of it until his eye caught sight of one of the mutant squid creatures flopping in the mud next to him. Bors quickly raised his boot and stomped on the thing, grinding it with his heel until it stopped moving, "First blood goes to Riko" he said jokingly to himself before raising his rifle to cover his two squad mates.

Shuttle 1

"Ugh this is soo gross!" Natsumi said in disgust as she trued to wipe some of the sludge off her once pristine new armor and rifle. She truly hoped they would be hosed down sometime before they had to take their helmets off. If not, she was going to wretch for sure.

When her turn came she moved through the breaching hatch into the waste tank with her contingent of soldiers. It was even worse in the tank and the gravity shift was disorienting at first. She fell in with the rest of the squads as they climbed out to the exit hatch from the tank into the stations interior.
