Bridge

She nearly cracked up laughing at the idea of her feeling being directed toward Bors. "No it is Murakami Mitsuko..." She didn't finish her sentence, for she started looking over the station she was sitting at. Looking over the sensor data, "Sir... Uhh.... I mean, Ramiro do you think we need to wake the crew? Do I need to get the rest of the PA crews getting prepped?"

Bridge

"I can see spatial distortion waves from faster-than-light drive systems in the system we have designated as HX-24. The signals to not appear to be part of an organized formation nor in a common magnitude. For more details we will have to get closer," the ship's computer answered Ramiro.

The door hissed and Blackberry returned to the bridge with a cup of coffee. She unscrewed the lid and sipped at is as she looked over the the readings nonchalantly. "It appears we have a busy day tomorrow," she commented. "Your shift is over, Ramiro. Go get some rest. You too Misato. With the captain's permission, we will take a better look tomorrow morning."

Bridge

"No need," Ramiro responded to Misato. "We're not heading there in any critical amount of time. Blackberry's right, we'll examine this more in the morning. As for your person, I'll admit she was at the bottom of my guessing list for females. However, same general response. Just don't let it affect your job. With that I'll take my leave. Have a good night Misato, see you in the morning Blackberry, thanks for giving me some alone time on the bridge."

Waving behind him as he walked, Ramiro exited the bridge and headed towards his cabin for some sleep.

Cabin 4

Ramiro entered the cabin, surprised to not see Takeyu in there yet. Shrugging to himself, he quickly got out of his uniform and slipped into his sheets, determined to get some shut eye.

Wardroom - The Next Morning

"Good morning and happy new year. Today's uniform is the duty uniform. All day shift crew, please report to the wardroom," the Shosho announced over the intercom.

Hanako arrived in the wardroom with her hair still damp from the shower and went to see what Mango had made for breakfast. Today's meal was a build-your-own biscuit buffet with Southern-style fluffy biscuits, rounds of scrambled eggs, country ham, bacon, sausage patties, and cheese. There was also several fruit jellies available, some of which were imported. After building a breakfast sandwich and a jelly biscuit Hanako filled a glass of orange juice and sat at the head of the table to await the others.

Next morning

Like Takeyu did pretty much every morning; he got up early and got himself ready for the day, taking a shower and then writing up a brief log on what he had done mostly for his own record keeping.

He had made a quick trip to Engineering and bid Cherry a good morning. He didn't stay for very long though, just to run a quick check on the ships systems before making his way to the Wardroom.

Crew Lounge

Bors briefly dosed on the couch in the crew lounge, trying to catch a few winks after his restless night. Before napping he had gotten ready for the day, taking his shower and putting on his duty uniform before he had decided to try and catch some sleep. When the Hanako's announcement came over the intercom, Bors begrudgingly got up to make his way to the wardroom.

Wardroom

After saying his morning greetings to the Shosho, Bors headed to the breakfast line, putting a few biscuits on his plate as well as some of the imported jelly, finally adding a bit of a sample of each of the meats and some eggs. Sitting down in his usual spot he couldn't decide whether or not to make a sandwich or not, mulling over the idea of it as he sipped on his cup of coffee.

Wardroom

Sune was in his normal routine, he had already gotten up, taken a shower, and returned to his room.

He entered the Wardroom wearing his duty uniform. He looked around at who was present then made his way to the buffet. He made himself a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit. And a second biscuit the he split and put jelly on. Lastly he added a glass of orange juice and made his way to the table. "Good Morning Shosho, Riko-Hei." he said taking his seat to the right of Hanako.

Cabin 5

Whilst it took him a little time too find the showers, Conrad was a rather early bird, quickly able to wake up with a minimum of jawns. Eventually he had gotten some sleep, suitable enough for the day ahead. He put on his duty uniform and went over to the wardroom. He'd probably hear about his interview there.

Wardroom

Conrad entered the wardroom, and took a good slow look around. Not knowing who to address first if any, he'd simply address them all.

''Good morning, everyone.''

Prioritizing more on food then conversation on an empty stomach, Conrad made his way over to the buffet line, hoping to find coffee. He did. Pouring himself a cup when it was his turn, the large man proceeded to pick a variety of all available resources and constructed a marvelous meal. Only a few fruit jellies were saved from the fate of the biscuit, barring nothing otherwise.

Conrad sat down on the far end from the table (a little distant) to give his feet a little more space, and took a sip of his coffee. Black gold on an early morning to him, he savored it as he proceeded to eat his fortress of nutrients.

Cabin 5

The short night’s rest didn’t bother Egil much. He had gotten enough time to rest back in the academy and had been aching to put his skills to use with a sense of purpose. His roommate seemed to have wandered off, probably in search of the showers. Egil had woken up before the announcement rang through the intercom and had quickly put on the uniform he had hung in one of the lockers. Within a few minutes he was on his way to the wardroom.

Wardroom

“Good morning.” Egil slightly bowed towards the table before moving on to fetch some breakfast. He wasn’t really the type to draw all the attention and introduce himself, besides, this couldn’t be everyone just yet and half of those present had already been introduced. For his breakfast he settled on a ham and cheese sandwich, a biscuit with apricot flavored jelly and a cup of fresh coffee. The amount of choice actually surprise him, he had expected something a bit more average to say the least. Quietly he made his way over to the table and picked out a seat on the side from his superiors, pondering what he’d take a bite out of first.

Wardroom

As more people filtered in and the new crewmen found seats, Hanako took it upon herself to introduce them. "Blueberry and Pineapple have transferred to the YSS Firebird and we are joined by two new crew members, Santô Hei Mashiro Egil and Conrad Hightower. The former is a computer specialist and the tall one is a technician who volunteered for extended training as a cook for secondary specialization. I want you all to think on how we can integrate their skills and work together to get things done more efficiently."

Cabin 4

Ramiro awoke much later than he usually did, only waking up because of Hanako's intercom message. Rubbing his eyes, he sat up and was immediately confused.

"What the..." He started as he looked around the unfamiliar cabin. Rubbing his eyes and blinking very hard a few times, he peered around again before being satisfied that he was fully awake and not dreaming. Getting out of bed he checked the other bunk, and was astonished to see Murakami there. Grabbing his clothes from the floor, he walked out of the cabin and into his own next door.

Cabin 3

Closing the door behind him, he leaned against it and put a hand on his head, feeling for any heat.

"Not sick... Charisma, what happened last night? I remember going to bed, so why did I wake up in Cabin 4?"

"You walked into Cabin 4 and went to bed there."

Ramiro groaned. "Ugh, I must have been exhausted. You didn't think to say anything?"

"You are not restricted from sleeping in other cabins."

"Oh..." Grabbing his Duty Uniform, Ramiro quickly dressed and headed to the Wardroom.

Wardroom

As Ramiro entered, he was not surprised to see much of the crew assembled already. After going and building himself a breakfast, he took a seat at the table and listened to Hanako speak.

Cabin 4

After the announcement, Mitsuko thought she heard someone speaking. "...mmm? Suzume-chan?" She mumbled, rolling over in her bunk. Without her glasses, her eyes seemed to glow in the dark room. "...huh?" Rolling out of bed and turning on the lights, she seemed confused. Had Misato really gotten up before her? Her bed had been slept in, but it was empty now.

After a few moments to clear her head, Murakami began preparing for the day. She still didn't seem very pleased with the new uniform, but she didn't have any choice but to wear it. She'd shower, change, and head to the Wardroom to meet up with the others. The unexpected addition of a giant to the crew would definitely cause her to pause at the entrance...

Cabin 4

Just before going to bed the night before she stopped in the restroom on her way to her cabin. When she entered the cabin she saw there was a body in her bed, her heart jumped until she realized that Mimi-chan was in her own bed. She moved closer and found Ramiro in her bed passed out, whispering "Now you are truly an ass" she lightly chuckled as she grabbed a spare blanket and pillow and laid down next to Mimi's bed, trying not to wake her two roommate.

When she woke up she found herself wrapped up in a blanket under Mimi's bed. She must have rolled under there in her sleep. Getting up she changed into the day's uniform . "Wakey Wakey Eggs and Bacy" She started stretching out her muscles, just because she could sleep anywhere didn't mean she didn't feel it the next morning. After she finished stretching she went to poke her roommate when she realized Mimi was gone already.

Wardroom

As she entered the wardroom she saw the newbies being introduced by the CO. She smiled and bowed to them, before going over and tossing a little bit of everything on her plate. After pouring a mug of coffee she went over and sat down next to Ramiro. "So how'd you sleep Mister?" She said smirking.

Wardroom

Mitsuko seemed slightly shocked as Misato walked past her into the Wardroom. "...Suzume-chan? I thought you'd already be here." She followed her in, though, keeping an eye on the new people. Distracted, she filled her plate. "Why didn't you wake me up? Where did you go?"

Sitting down next to her roommate, Murakami just shook her head and started on breakfast. "Mmm, it feels like all I do is eat, lately..."

Wardroom

"I was asleep under your bed on the floor, my bed was... Occupied... As for waking you I tried, but of course you were gone. must have pasted you somewhere." She winked at Mimi, "though I though about crawling into bed with you but you were out and I didn't want to wake you." She smiled and took a bite of food. "Eat while you can, who know where or when your next hot meal might be."

Wardroom

"Occupied? By what? Did you disassemble another weapon in bed, Suzume-chan? I didn't see any bottles there..." She tried to think of what else Misato might have left in her bunk, but was drawing a blank. "You should have just gotten into bed with me, Suzume-chan." She nodded at the suggestion. "It'd be like I was back in basic training again..." Mitsuko giggled at the idea.

She wasn't passing on the food, definitely not. She nodded in agreement with Misato, working on her meal. Better than rations. Or nothing. Or being shot at.

Cabin 2, earlier

Natsumi woke up early, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes as she slowly extracted herself from her warm comfortable bed. She noted that she still had the cabin to herself. Bors must have gotten up much earlier than she had, or not come back to the cabin at all. She shrugged and picked out one of her new type 35 duty uniforms and her personal hygene supplies and headed out for the showers.

Once there she took a nice long shower, enjoying the hot water as she cleaned up. Done, she got into uniform, brushed out her mass of white hair, then returned her exercise outfit and supplies to her cabin before making her way to the wardroom for breakfast.

Wardroom

Arriving, Natsumi bid the Shosho good morning, then joined the others getting food. She happily aquired a plate and filled it with eggs, ham, biscuits and extra sausage and a glass of orange juice before she settled at her usual spot at the table.

She then noticed they had two new people there, one of them impossible to miss with his mountainous height and build.

"Good morning!" She said, greeting them, then quieted down as Hanako announced that Blueberry and Pineapple had been reassigned and introduced their two new crew members.

She decided it was best to get the new crew and picked the tall one, who the Shosho had introduced as Santô Hei Hightower to be first since he seemed to have isolated himself at the far end of the table. Maybe he needed a friend first? She picked up her plate and juice and walked over.

"Hi!" she said cheerfully. "I'm Ittô Hei Yamashiro Natsumi, is it ok if I join you?" she asked and smiled.

Wardroom

"Slept fine," Ramiro said bluntly. "In my own bed, nobody else's." Ramiro continued to shovel food into his mouth. The general thought process was that food prevented talking.

"Eat," he said behind a mouthful of biscuit.

Wardroom

While Sune ate his food, he did what a scientist did best. Observe. He watched the interaction of the crew, of which there was a lot more than the previous day. He particularly was interested in his friend Ramiro. His curiosity was piqued when he saw Misato sit next to him ask how he slept and smirk. Could there be a budding romance? That kind of innocuous comment accompanied by a knowing smirk usually means a shared secret. Seen that byplay before on the Bouken, usually when a pair of crew members had shared a bed and more. Ramiro is rather intently focusing on food and not the young lady. Very out of character for him, he loves to flirt. he thought.

"Ramiro my friend, there is a young woman on the Firebird who would like very much to get to meet you. Her name is Sapphire, she is the Starship Operator of the Firebird. I told her about your skills at the helm, and that you were the best I knew. That if it were not for the fact that it would deprive the Eucharis of the best Operator I knew. I would have requested you for my ship. She expressed a desire to meet or speak with you to talk about flying a starship better." he said to his friend. "With your permission I can give her your digits I believe you said one time. Or you could when off duty meet her via VCE to talk and perhaps teach her some of your tricks."

Wardroom

"Any interesting gossip in the showers this morning?" Hanako asked offhandedly. As the only one on the ship with access to an individual shower, she wasn't privy to the morning conversations in the group shower. "I asked yesterday that you the systems you would like to visit and I was hoping some of you had a chance to discuss that this morning. With the NMX pushed back, we have a more open-ended mission that before. Being an Admiral has its privileges and prerogatives. Speaking of exploration, this morning we'll be visiting the HX-24 system. Apparently there is some starship activity there. If they have a habitable planet I would like you to come up with an away team to go down and talk to people."
