Hoshi was too tense to eat -- he did take the time to drink a little bit of apple cider.

That done, he slipped into his Power Armor in the Armour Bay.

Systems check... All green. He then waited. He was kitted out, along with a spare two Medkits. He was as ready as he could be for a battle.

Asi opted out of eating all together, concentrating instead on his armor. I can't afford any mistakes. Especially working with people I'm not completely familiar with yet. He activated his armors systems, then proceeded to run diagnostics in the time he had. Deciding that the focus would benefit him more then the slight relaxation of talking to the others, he stayed in his corner, running through the possible scenarios they could encounter once they'd boarded.

Kyoka was in her suit the moment the call was up, quickly booting up a diagnosis on the machine's conditions. Once she found her PA's systems to be satisfactory, She manuvered the Mindy over to where the others were.

"Ready and awaiting, Haruhi-Juni!" She announced with a flourish.

In the short time it took the Aeon to travel through space, Trowa had succeeded in getting himself, and the ship, blown up three times in the sims. Although he was pretty sure that on that third run Eternity had blown him up on purpose. But he had learned a lot in that short time, both in how the ship handled and how the enemy attacked. But now it was time for the real thing.

As soon as the Aeon came back to real space, Trowa did a systems check and switched the ship to run silent. “Aye, Ma’am.” Trowa responded, his fingers hovering over the controls, ready to move as soon as Toranaga-Hei gave him the coordinates.

Upon hearing that the Aeon had entered the combat area; Sachi packed up her stuff. She made her way to the exit of the power armor bay, with a wave to the members in the room, "Guddorakku." she called out. Hopefully the will come back safe, but just in case I should get to medical. Sachi made a quick trip to the wardroom to deposit her baskets and to make sure that the wardroom and galley were secured. After locking all the cabinets, she pulled out an AMES and donned the suit. Looking around the wardroom one last time, she left for the shuttle bay.

Upon entering the shuttle bay she waved to Shina who was preparing the Diligent, "Good Luck Shina-Chan." she called ducking into the Vigilant. She closed the hatches and moved to the cockpit. Josea was sitting at the science panel in an AMES, "Sensors have been calibrated to look for the teleportation pod material signature Nami-Hei." He said as she entered. She smiled, it felt weird having a civilian on the mission, but he was a science person and they needed one on the shuttle. Sachi performed her preflight and once satisfied she sent via intercom. "Vigilant to bridge, ready for launch."

Kim completed her check of the Diligent after attaching the Dageki module. How ironic that we just tested this in a simulation, and now we are going to use it for real. she thought. Kim then configured the passenger compartment for power armors. Once satisfied she made her way to the cockpit. "Diligent to bridge, ready for Away Team boarding." she sent across the intercom.

Eternity chimed in, "Ise-Taii, I have detected two squadrons of NMX ships currently in the system. One is in orbit over the 4th world. The Second is currently heading inbound. From its trajectory, it is highly probable that it is the group we are looking for. Supplying intercept trajectory to Helm."

"Send that trajectory to the squadron, Yamamoo-Hei, maximum speed." Katae said.

Haruhi strode into the armour bay shortly after the announcement came over the ship's speakers. “Suits sealed, final checks! Last chance for questions, concerns and doubts.” With efficient moves she disrobed herself to the necessary extent and swung into her Mindy, the armour closed around her and came to life in short order.

“Form up over here when you're set; make sure you have all your equipment.” She ordered, metal-clad hand pointing to an arbitrary point on the floor that she walked towards.

This is it. thought Trowa. "Aye, aye Ma'am." Trowa entered the trajectory into the computer then turned on some speed. He also removed the firing safeties from the ship's main weapons. "ETA to enemy ships, 5 minutes. Guns are hot, Ma'am. I'll have firing ranges calculated ranges momentarily." Trowa announced as he did a quick calculation, which he had Eternity double check since he was focusing mainly on flying.

Katae smiled at the eager starship operator, "Just remember to hold your fire until I tell you to. We only get one chance to catch them by surprise all four ships in the squadron must target the same place. After that we need to work as a team to fight the others."

Eternity meanwhile provided on the main screen, and Trowa's console a tactical overlay of the NMX ships showing where the most likely location for the reactors to be positioned.

Asi chose to stay silent, nodding in response and getting into position. Here we go... He closed his eyes, thinking hard about what was about to come.

Kyoka bowed and did as she was asked, manuvering her Mindy over to the spot Haruhi pointed to. "All systems go. . ." She mumbled, doing one last diagnostics check on her Armor.

Hoshi fell in beside the new girl. "Hoshi Yukimura, ready."

Everything read out green across the board -- his Armor was ready. He was as ready as he could be, and with Asine in sight (alive and breathing as he was,) he was comforted with the thought nobody he knew was lost in the earlier fighting.

The 7th Squadron lead by the Aeon closed in on the NMX Warships, maintaining their silent running mode until they were in optimum firing position to inflict maximum damage in the first salvo.

Katae watched the tactical display, showing the point at which the ship would be able to bring all its anti-starship weapons to bear. There are still a dozen ways this entire mission can go south. If these are not the right ships, or if they get off a distress call. Or worse if other NMX just happen to jump into the system while we are engaging them. she thought.

Katae turned to Eun-Kyung, "Kim-Shoi Kohosei, notify the Away team that the need to get aboard the Diligent NOW. Also prepare the T31 EWS to jam all but our squadron communications channels when we drop out silent running. We do not need that squadron to call in for reinforcements. Secure all blast shutters as soon as Haruhi-Juni reports her team is on-board."

As the squadron continue to close on the tactical display, it showed as each weapon system was within firing range. When the last of the systems was showing within range Katae ordered. "All ships fire at the target coordinates."

Behind the eye patch Trowa's cybernetic eye glowed red, showing his excitement. But he took a steadying breath and looked over the display that Eternity had brought up for him. Picking the most likely spot, Trowa got a target lock and waited for the order to fire.

After what seemed like an eternity, the Taii gave the order to fire. "To the NMX, with love. From your friends aboard the mighty Aeon." Trowa said as he hit the firing control. The Aeon shook has the main weapon array fired a beam of scalar interference pulses. The forward view screen, even with its automatic light dimmer, was so bright Trowa had to close his real eye.

“Aye, ma’am,” said Eun-Kyung, already lifting up her handset. ”Away Team to the Diligent. Away Team to the Diligent. Diligent, standby to lift as soon as Away Team is aboard. That is all.” Finished, she directed her attention to her main display, reconfigured to show the Type 31 EWS’s main interface. Even though she knew the Aeon was already firing, she took the time to double check that the squadron channels would be left open. Assured that they were, she hit the key to execute the EWS program and watched her display explode with rapidly shifting figures. She threw the EWS interface to a secondary display and pulled back up the standard systems overview. “ECM and ECCM active, ma’am. Probes and decoys are ready to fire.” Leaving the system to run its course for the moment, she leaned back, keeping her hand near the physical button that would lock down the blast shutters.

“You all heard the lady, everyone aboard,” Haruhi motioned toward the Diligent nearby, “Time to find out what service is all about.” The armourer took up the rear as the enlisted proceeded to board the shuttle.

“Briefing once were aboard and sealed, I don't want to have to keep repeating myself so make sure your brains are turned on and you're paying attention to what I say 110%”

Katae watched from her station as the four ships of the 7th squadron hammered the first NMX Destroyer in a devastating assault. It was with satisfaction that she watched the unsuspecting ship go into an uncontrolled tumble its primary systems crippled by the onslaught. Okay, that was the easy one, from here it gets trickier. she thought.

Katae barked out the following orders. "Okay, Kim-Shoi Kohosei modulate CFS battle configuration. Yamamoo-Hei engage the STL drives Aeon and Integrity will engage the the second warship. Succubus and Ouroboros engage the third one.

Even as the forces of the 7th Squadron prepared to engage their next targets the enemy ships opened their Battlepod bays and started launching them.

"Heavy Quad Anti-Mecha Cannons to automatic, concentrate on the ship let the cannons deal with the pods for now," She said.

Hoshi boarded the shuttle quickly, picked out a spot, and readied himself to receive the briefing soon to come.

The battle had started, likely enough. The young medic imagined lances of light tearing ships apart, could hear the sound of shrieking metal and the instantaneous death of explosive decompression, feel the pain barely registering in an alien's -- or Yamataian's -- mind before the Void overwhelmed all thought.

With an unseen shudder, the Medic awaited his orders and ran another systems' check.

Tsubei was in only moments after Hoshi, double checking her weapons as she leaned against the wall. This is it. . . She thought, feeling a little nervous. The real deal.

When Trowa could see again he realized that there wasn't much left to see. The NMX ship they had targeted was out of the fight. But Trowa didn't have time to celebrate. The Taii was issuing new orders. "Aye, aye Ma'am." Trowa acknowledged as he engaged the STL drives. He brought the ship around and pointed it towards the second warship.

"Eternity," Trowa said as he flew the Aeon towards the second NMX ship. "Give me a target lock and send the target to Integrity." The NMX battle pods worried Trowa some, but he trusted that the Aeon's auto cannons would keep them off him.
