Slightly mollified Kame did just that, and found a place for cover where she could check the perimeter, watch her prisoner, and watch the Shoi's prisoner. Screw the rules, if either one so much at tried attacked, she would busting kneecaps before the day was done.

Noticing that the Shoi was coming back, she frowned slightly that they had not managed to get the last prisoner. She also had no clue what was going on the Aeon or even the name enemy they were facing. Had they transmitted what they found and she just missed it because of com problems? Had they learned something new about the prisoners? What was this new enemy they were facing and what did the away team learn about the bugs?

What she did know now was the Shoi was right that if the last prisoner had escaped they would be getting company soon and not the good kind. She also knew that she should get back the shuttle when the coast was clear and check if she had managed to stun/kill the bug. Assuming, of course, the bugs where organic in nature.

Thus after a while, Kame responded back to the Shoi, "Umm... Sorry Shoi, Mam. Also sorry that is seems the last one got away. It seemed like if the away team is done with the Genus if they are head here. While I scan the perimeter would you mind telling me about what did the away team find?"

Sending the Shoi her scanner data, Kame quickly then added, "Also here is the data I found on my prisoner so you can compare."

For a moment, Trowa had to fight back his Nepleslian instinct before he commented gross insubordination. He checked his tong and said, "Aye aye Sir." It tasted like spoiled whiskey. Having been given his orders, Trowa wasn't going to wait around all day. He double timed it to the Armory. "Miki," Trowa said aloud. "What kind of heavy firepower do you have?"

Upon arrival to the armory*, Kyoka opened the doors and took note of the inventory, whistling slightly.

"Wow, there's a few good things here." She commented, picking up Plasma Scatter Gun and inspecting it for wear. "Looks like there's some explosives too."

Miki replied to Trowa over the speakers, "We have the following items recently acquired in a salvage purchase:

Ke-M2-W2701 Dual Blade Aether Saber Rifle
2 Ke-M2-W2913 Aether/Scalar Submachine Gun
2 Type 30 Accelerated Charged Plasma Scatter Gun

I presume you would consider those heavy firepower. We also were equipped with a supply of explosives to be used to harvest the large crystals on Sairen."

Though aggravated with the whole affair, Trowa had to smile as he looked at the weapon selection. "Very nice." He said as he picked up the other Plasma Scatter Gun. Trowa really liked the feel of it. He slung it over his shoulder and grabbed two boxes of shells for it. He then took a look at some of the exploses. Though not an infantryman, Trowa had always loved weapons and explosives and had done a good bit of study on demolition. He took the 25 yards of Type 31 Detonating cord (T31DC) and picked up the case of Type 31 Plastic Explosive (T31PE). It was heavy stuff. "Probably want to put this in the truck." Trowa commented. He grabbed the box of Type 31 Remote Detonator (T31RD) and tossed them to Arkase. "You should probably hold onto these, Sir."

Eun-Kyung took a moment to cool off, casually reviewing the data packet O'Kutsuu had sent her as she did. When she finally spoke, she was far more collected than before.

“I don't have a lot of information. Oshiro-Heisho will brief me when he gets here, but from what he passed along the Taisa has ordered us to engage a target called 'Intellicus.' I have no word on what the target is, but whatever the case, I would imagine it is behind the Genus and Diligent shoot-downs, the hostile contact Oshiro-Heisho's element had, and the attacks on the Aeon, both the graviton beams and the bomber. As such, I expect this is going to be a serious fight, so I want you to make sure your comms are squared away. You will not be disappearing from the net during combat. Clear?”

Arkase took the Aether Beam-Saber Rifle.

Hello, old friend. He thought, linking it up with his PA.

Then he caught the remote detonators. "Trowa-hei, I had planned to use those explosives, true. But kindly do not throw the things that can trigger them to me."

The Beam-Saber Rifle hung in one hand, the box of detonators precariously balanced in the palm of another.

"We'll need, at most, two of these... Trowa-Hei, I want you to handle the explosives. Put that Det-Cord in a pack, along with the rest. Asine-Hei, you'll be performing sniper support. Take one of those rifles and some ammo. Kyoka-Hei, Trowa-Hei, take a spare Styrling Assault Rifle and ammo. Those scatter guns are all well and good, but you also need something that can hit outside of close-quarters. Quickly now, all of you. I'll give you thirty seconds before we all have to bolt. Hurry to the LUT that the Genus has."

He waited ten seconds, then rushed his way to the LUT that he would commandeer. Once it had started, he waited for the rest of the Away Team before driving off to the Crash-Site.

Trowa grabbed a spare Styrling Assault Rifle and ammo like Arkase suggested before loading the explosives into the bed of the LUT. Once they were secure he hopped in beside them and quickly loaded both the Assault Rifle and the scatter gun. The Nepleslian smiled at the sound of the bolt being pulled back and locked into place. He tapped the side of the LUT and shouted over the engine. "Let’s Head'm up! And Move'm out!"

The LUT was in pristine condition, and was actually still secured to the floor by straps when Arkase had come into the area. As he waited for the Away Team to arrive, Hikaru's voice came over the speakers.

"Signal when you are ready to deploy and I will operate the ramp from here on the bridge. The area around the GENUS is currently bug free. I have a VCMAD-S ready for deployment if you want it to provide you with more data as you approach Intellicus. Your call of course."

"Yes Mam, I keep calling at regular intervals just to make sure. In addition, I packed couple of first aid kits, rations, and explosives. If you want, Shoi, I could give you one of first aid kits’ the stretchers to drag your person over here.” Kame briefly thought about taking off her helmet to see if she could pin point the damage to her suits communicators. However, she immediately realized this probably was not a good idea what with the semi-dormant explosive next to her and who knows else. Instead, she worked on better securing the makeshift connection between her Mindy's systems and her Type 29 Communicator.
She also briefly thought about mentioning the need a demolitions expert again to ID the explosive; however, she figured the Shoi was already thinking about it. Instead, Kame went back to scanning perimeter with her rifle and making sure their prisoners did not show any signs of waking up.

Arkase impatiently waited until everyone had gathered into the LUT, and then ordered the drop of the ramp. Once that was accomplished, he was off.

"Nakano-San, go ahead and send the drone now."

Kyoka quickly replied, "Hai!" before making a grab at the Styrling and collecting the ammunition. And that's when she noticed the spare Aether/Scalar gun. She instantly recognized it as superior both to the plasma weapon she had picked up before, and rifle she was ordered to take. She was struck between choosing between them, and finally opted to carry the assault rifle and the scatter gun over each shoulder via carry straps and the SMG in her hands (While observing proper gun safety measures, of course). Stacking two boxes of both of the ammunition required guns on the flat of the Aether smg, she hovered her way to the LUT, then hopped into the bed of the truck and set her various weapons down, then loaded each one respectively as they began to move.

"Sorry, Heisho, I couldn't resist bringing the Aether weapon," She told Arkase, throwing both of the freshly loaded guns back onto her shoulders.

Trowa glance at Kyoka and the extra guns she brought. He laughed out loud when she said that she couldn't decide which to bring so she brought all of them. "Couldn't decide which gun you liked best so you brought them all? Are you sure you’re not part Nepleslian?" Trowa took his assault rifle in hand and looked ahead. He was ready to gun down any sign of trouble.

Over the speakers came Hikaru's voice. "The VCMAD-S is deployed and holding position outside the vehicle bay. Miki will transmit the command codes to you, I configured it for laser communications only to prevent Intellicus from trying to hack it. Its not armed, but I configured it to give you the best sensors possible, it should let you track any of the 'insects' and the possessed."

Having closed her eyes for a long minute, Eun-Kyung left out a plosive sigh into the confines of her helmet. Unfortunately, it did little to help.

“No, O’Kutsuu-Hei. I said we’re staying away from the prisoners, and that would include moving them on stretchers. Seriously, whatever they’re packing hurt a starship. At close range your armor wouldn’t stand much of a chance.”

While speaking, she glanced at her prisoner, wondering what to do after the Heisho’s element arrived. Getting any reliable intel from the Yamataians might be difficult, as would be securing them indefinitely. She guessed they’d simply have to douse them to the gills with anesthesia, but if it came to it, she’d order their limbs… removed - if only as a last resort. Thoughts of the Heisho back in her head, she fired up her comm again.

Code:
Oshiro-Heisho,

Please advise me of your disposition, ETA, and direction of approach if possible. I’d prefer to avoid any possibility of blue-on-blue.

Kim Eun-Kyung Shoi

"Hai, mam." Kame replied hoping that the other members of the away team would indeed get here soon. Hopefully they would also have a demolitions expert to deal with their possibly explosive situation.

Code:
I'm already here, Ma'am.
Arkase replied.

In a few moments he maneuvered the LUT up to Eun-Kyung's position, stopping short several meters. He got out, promptly bowed to the XO and explained the situation with Intellicus. Once done, he bowed again and waited for her reaction.

Eun-Kyung was silent for a little while as she pondered everything the Heisho had told her. She'd felt a brief pang of guilt when he mentioned that Shina-Hei was dead, but trying to sort out their tactical situation did wonders for clearing her head.

“That would explain these Yamataians we made contact with. My examination of the female that... that Shina-Hei took back to the Aeon did reveal a metal something, I guess one of these devices, on her spinal column. Of course, there was no sign of explosives on the medical scans, but now that we know what to look for O'Kutsuu-Hei has detected traces in her prisoner.”

She paused again, glancing at the LUT and other members of the Away Team.

“So what were you considering for our next step, Heisho? We have two functioning P3000 units, on my armor and O'Kutsuu-Hei's, I have some explosives, and I see you've kitted yourselves out nicely. But beyond our resources, what sort of order of battle are we facing? Just Yamataians and these bugs? Do we have any way to rescue them, or otherwise gain some intel from these prisoners?”

"Nakano-San from the Genus is lending us a VCMAD-S drone. It's waiting for our signal to fly over where Intellicus should be.

If you'd allow me to speculate... I'm guessing anywhere around Sixty to Seventy unarmored Yamataian hostiles, armed with light weaponry, as well as these bugs and whatever other tricks Intellicus has -- we know it has equipment capable of attacking ships in orbit, so I expect automated weapons emplacements. Likely mobile.

I don't expect to find all of the Yamataians in one place: They'll likely be spread out. But I suppose it's best to assume that they're all very close by.

My plan was to rush a heavily armed team -- including myself -- in the LUT at the facility while another team stayed back, tying up enemy forces trying to stop the first team from destroying Intellicus summarily.

If Intellicus is what's controlling everything, once it's down everything else will go down -- either the Yamataians will die or will have their own free will again. If they're still hostile, at least they'll be without direction.

That's my guess and my plan.

Eun-Kyung Shoi, you're in charge now. We're ready to do whatever needs to be done -- and save the Aeon."

Arkase, finally finished, bowed once more to the XO and then quietly waited for her orders.

Eun-Kyung winced upon hearing how the Heisho addressed her. Another time, she might have let it go, at least until later, but after blowing her gasket at O'Kutsuu earlier her sense of fairness demanded that she say something, at least.

That would be Kim Eun-Kyung, Heisho,” she sent telepathically and as mildly as she could make it, there being no sense in publicly undermining the otherwise perfectly squared-away Oshiro.

Almost immediately after, she started speaking again on the team net.

“Let's not kid ourselves. I may be in command, but I'm a bridge officer by training and inclination. I can handle myself in a firefight, but that's a long way from being an infantry specialist. So yes, I think you ought to lead the assault element. And take the other infantrymen with you; Im'Inao-Hei, Tsubei-Hei, and perhaps O'Kutsuu-Hei, for any demolitions,” she said, turning to face each team member as she spoke.

“I think Yamamoto-Hei and Gustav-Juni had better stay back with me as the QRF. Unless you have any objections or other suggestions. And that goes for the rest of you as well. This is a sticky situation, and now is not the time to hold back.”
