RP: 21st Fighter Sq [Mission 3.1] Menace in the dark

The bag moved forward, from Elisto's position he could see that a cord or rope had been tied to it. The other end of the rope went up the conduit that lead to the upper deck. Once the bag made it to the up shaft it was hoisted up. As it went up a clattering sound came from the shaft and an object fell out and hit the conduit floor.

From the shaft while Elisto did not understand a word that was being said, the sentiment was pretty clear. After a moment the sound of the bad being dragged could be heard again and was receding.

Interesting, thought Elisto as he picked up the dropped object and gave it a quick looking over before stashing it on his person, he then looked up and continued following the bag - and it's unsuspecting owner.

As Elisto popped his head up from the shaft he saw the intruder hoist the bag out and then climbed out of the conduit himself. The position of the entrance was down by the far end of the conduit which mean near the front of the ship. A moment later the intruder placed the cover on the conduit.

Elisto pondered as he waited, several things on his mind. I headed to the cargobay and ran into this guy on my way, is he able to intercept telepathy?

With this concern on his mind, he sent a text message to the Taii just to be safe, alerting him to the possibly of that. It might just be that this guy is monitoring crew movements via a tap into the system.

As he waited for a few moments, listening for the noise to recind a bit, he carefully removed the conduit grate and looked around to see where exactly he was in relation to the position of the conduit.

Looking through the grate showed that Elisto was located in the space in front of the crew staterooms. From his vantage point he could see the doors to the six cabins and the storage area at each end. The question now was where was the intruder.

Mmmmm, Elisto muzed and looked around curious after he put the grate back in place. Where is he... he raised his pistol and began to carefully search the staterooms, waiting just long enough in front of each door and listening before cautiously opening each.

After listening at the third door Elisto noticed a smudge on the floor. Upon closer examination it became clear that it was a mark left from the bag being dragged across the floor. It lead to the starboard storage area.

---------------------------------------

Kamato was still angry at the loss of his communications unit. He took the components need for his next step out of the container. The fact that the Jugal had disabled the second explosive was unfortunate. He had not thought that they would be able to restore their power as quickly, so now he had to use his most powerful device.

He picked up the weapon he had acquired earlier. The controls were relatively simple, but it took Kamato several tries before he could hold it properly. It was clear that it was not mean for his hand. But it would serve. Kamato was not about to fail in his duty. If necessary he was quite prepared to die in service to his Ruoka.

Elisto inspected the smuge, giving a clear image for his recorder for later study, he knelt down and placed his hand by it and looked in the direction of the starboard storage area.

He was about to send a message, but he didn't want to tip the man off so instead he thought up of an idea.

Code:
Taii? can the starboard storage area be opened to vacuum?

Elisto sent and carefully approuched the storage area doors, times like these he wish he had those small drones that the Mindys used. Five inches across, would make for a very good means to investigate areas of interest without exposing himself to possible fire. With that thought in his head, and his hand firmly on his pistol, he very carefully opened the door.

The only way would be to vent the entire forward section, the living quarters. But it is possible by reversing the life support in that section.

The doors to the cabins were basic manual doors. As Elisto opened the door about six inches, a series of NSP blasts hit the edge of the door.

Elisto reflexively backed away for the moment, still smelling the burnt metal where the blasts had hit. I guess it was to much to hope that this intruder woud be preoccupied, he said and braced himself for several moment before he burst into the storage area, aimed his pistol in the direction he thought the blasts came from and fired before seeking some form of cover.

Code:
Will do Taii, may need to do that in order to stop this bastard.

The store room was about 18 feet by 18 feet. It was filled with an assortment of containers and shelves. Immediately in the center of the room was a device mounted on a tripod with a blinking display. The bad that Elisto had followed lay against a large plastic box. He could hear some movement on the opposite side of the room.

Elisto crept through the storage area, eyeing the device with worry as he watched it for a moment before continuing his slow and steady pursuit.

Looking around containers slowly, before changing positions. When the sounds got closer, he knew he was within reach of his target.

Kamato listened to the Jugal and slid his A'ka Veltin from its sheath, and stayed still. Poised to strike with deadly speed when his enemy presented itself. But he would give this one a good death, for it had proved to be a worthy opponent.

Elisto stopped for a moment, glancing about his surroundings when he realized that the sound he had heard moments had ceased. Mmm... he backed off for a moment and listened.

He then crept back the way he came for a moment, and raised his pistol before glancing off to his side. Then he looked down onto his belt and realized that he still has his extinguisher on him, it wasn't at full but it could still prove to be useful. With a slight grin on his face he set it down quietly and backed off a few feet before raising his pistol, taking aim at it, then fired.

The blast punched a small hole in the extinguisher, which caused it to do two things. The first is it started venting white vapor, the second was it started to move the cylinder around, with it gradually gathering more speed.

When the cylinder ricocheted off a box the intruder fired the NSP it had at it, and darted to a new position.

Found you, Elisto spun out of his hiding place behind the shelf and aimed it at a blur that he thought was the intruder and fired off a conservative number of shots before seeking cover he then pulled a noticiable piece of metal plate from his belt and hide it in a small area of the shelve. Then ran from his cover toward another crate and fired off a few rounds into the white cloud, then dove behind it.

There was a crash as the other person in the storage room slammed into one of the shelves. Then a spray of NSP weapon fire swept the room, knocking various objects off the shelves in a noisy rain of metal and glass.

Elisto ducked quickly behind crate, narrowly avoiding getting a crew-cut in the process. He then moved around it and fired off a series of shots into the white plume where he had seen the NSP fire just moments before, then quickly moved himself into the plume.

We can exchange fire all we want, but eventually we'll have to get physical, and I want to know what the device is, he eyed it out of the corner of his eye, basically noticable through the plume.

He was hoping to catch the intruder off guard though, he really did want to finish this quick.

The intruder briefly changed target and fired the stolen NSP at the room lighting. Plunging the room into darkness. Then it fired a few more bolts in the direction of Elisto, a bit closer but still not scoring a direct hit.

Elisto felt a sting on his left shoulder but ignored it as he dove into the plume and rolled behind what he felt was a crate. His eyes took awhile to adjust to the darkness, but in the process he looked around his surroundings.

He then grabbed something off the shelve, smiled and tossed it toward the far end of the bay and then looked out to see where the NSP fire would come from.
