Yoshiro turned to the target that the APC was firing at and targeted the Ripper that had hit it. "Bastard!" He shouted as he fired a burst of his Aether beam rifle at it and hit it with a burst from his gauss cannon just to make sure that he hurt it. "Are you ok in the APC?" He sent over laser comms. He was concerned about his allies and wanted to make sure that they were ok.

Takamori switched to the rapid pulse mode and brought the rifle back up towards the new attacker. Once sure of a lock, he fired three long bursts.

He just had to say it. No targets in sight. And then one just had to appear. What a wonderful start to his military career.

Arkase grounded himself and then proceeded to use AIES in his aiming. He waited for a lock on the ripper before firing a beam at the hulking construct.

Kyoka responded as quickly as she could, wheeling about and firing without taking a long time to concentrate on the target. It was a larger opponent than the crabs, after all, and accuracy would count for less when quantity is needed.

Saki quickly ran to the Apc to get at least some cover. Standing in the open was dumb idea, especially when they were against Ripper. She brought her Gauss cannon online and changer her Aether beam rifle to Beam mode. You need heavy fire to take down mighty PAs like RIppers. She learned that in last exam on Fort Ready.

She quickly brought up fire control of her AIES and locked on Ripper. She did not want to wast Gauss ammunition. ABSR was energy based but gauss cannon could be out of ammo quite fast if she would fire aimlessly. When AIES gave her lock-on after calculatin for Rippers movement and terrain Saki did not wait one second fired both guns. Long blast from Aether Beam Saber Rifle and three-round burst from her gauss cannon.

The APC took another hit which its shields mitigate the worst of but the armored hull showed the damage from the bolts that got through.

With the combined fire power of the four Mindy's and the twin cannons on top of the APC. The Ripper was effectively torn apart and exploded as its power system ruptured.

Kim rotated the turrets watching carefully on the monitor what the targeting array saw.

"Scope is clear Juni, nothing on thermal, visual or radar. We are clear to proceed to the lock on the Dome." she sent via laser comm.

"Clear!" Saki said via laser-com and started to look around. All enemies was down for now. Luckily she spenkt almost non of her ammo resreves, but there was still a lot in front of the unit. "Sir, I think we should hurry, enemy probably knows about us now. I bet that ripper signaled for others." She commed some more.

Kim resumed her movement of the APC to get as close to the dome as safe. She brought the craft to as stop some fifty meters from the visible airlock.

"This is about a far I want to go Oshiro Juni. If I get any closer I will lose my field of vision and fire. From here I can cover the entrance and keep a look out for anything approaching." she sent via laser.

-----------------------------------------

Ahead of the away team there was a docking ring that could connect to the side of a starship that was twisted and damaged, a portion of it lying separated from the rest. As if a starship had launched without disconnecting from it. Beside that there were two large airlocks, one designated for vehicles and the other for ground teams. The Vehicle airlock had the outer door open.

Saki knelt when APC stopped moving. She used zoom of her suit to look around. Station seemed in quite a bad shape. Saki saw three entrance points. Two airlocks and damaged docking ring. One airlock, the larger on had its doors open. Maybe those crabs and ripper used it. But she would felt vulnerable through the airlock cycle. Docking ring seemed like better choice.

"Sir, three entrance points. Vehicle airlocks, ground team airlocks and we could posibbly get in through that damaged docking ring. We might get through the ring there un-noticed sir." Saki reported to Oshiro and hoped he will have same opinion as her.

Yoshiro checked his scanners to be sure that the area was clear for the moment and moved with the rest of the team. He then scanned the area ahead of them and made sure that none of his weapons were damaged in the fight. Before he moved to do anything else he was stopped and kept his eyes on the area ahead. "So what now?" He whispered over the laser comms. He waited for an answer but he was getting nervous and it showed when he asked the question.

Arkase grimaced at Saki's claim to the title of Doctor Obvious. He didn't say anything other than "Yoshiro-hei, take point. We'll check the docking ring first. Beware of traps."

He would wait for the Hei to take the lead before sliding in at second. Saki was right: if the docking ring were open, it would mean they could probably slip through unnoticed -- if the Mishhuvurthyar hadn't taken precautions about it first. They would need to check for tripwires, laser trips, or motion sensors. Even eyes, for that matter.

The resistance so far had been anything but light, but it hadn't been heavy enough to hint at their presence being too well-known or cared for yet. Maybe some fighting was still going on?

"Roger, Oshiro-Juni." He said and went inside. He scanned the area ahead as he moved slowly checking for traps and such. The scans and such continued as he moved ahead delibrately. "Nothing so far on scanners. Continuing scans." He said quietly.

There were no signs of booby traps in the damaged docking arm, there were more bodies of humans, humans partly transformed and even a couple of crab NMX, all were quite dead.

Towards the end of the docking arm the emergency blast shutters where torn from their mounts and lay upon the floor most likely a result of the twisting and pulling the arm had received. The doors leading into the dome proper were still in place though scored with small arms fire probably from the battle that had taken place in the arm.

"Oshiro-Juni. . ." Kyoka began, examining her surroundings. "Is it at all possible that what we fought before was a 'cleanup crew' and the main force has already evacuated?"

The neko loosened her tight grip on her gun, exhaled, then resumed searching the surroundings. It wouldn't do to have tense nerves in this situation.

Takamori slung the rifle over his back. He had decided the forearm weapons were better for now.

As the others talked, he stayed quiet and on overwatch.

"It definitely possible," Arkase told Kyoka. "Alright. We're going through. Kyoka-Heisho, please take point this time."

Saki held little back and covered their rear. Since Arkase did not order who should defend rear she took it on herself. She held her aether beam saber rifle in steady hand checking her surroundings. "Be careful of booby traps." She said, when she hear that Kyoka will be sent in first.

Kyoka nodded, and with a "Hai, Juni!" she assumed point position. A slight nod of recognition were all that she gave to Saki's words of warning. The Neko used all her suit's scanning and tracking systems as best she could, scrutinizing the building for even the slightest bit of movement.

When the Away Team got to the physical door it was intact despite a number of weapon impacts. The same could not be said for the controls for the door. The panel had been blown out leaving a tangle of wires.

"Is that repairable?" Arkase asked.

His mind was already going over the options. They could blow it up, cut through it, or find another way in. If he could help it, he'd rather just open the door peacefully without having to force his way through.
