Nana quickly went to work, absently wondering why Misaki wanted her to replace the generators to begin with. It was, more than likely, just for the sake of efficiency and all that, and it was a decision she could agree with. With all her tools spread out around her, Nana could fully immerse herself in her work and not worry too much about what may have gone on outside of the ship's walls.

There was a steady stream of shipboard communications traffic:

"Kaede to bridge: Entropy's Shroud hardware installation is complete. Be advised we will not be able to use it at the same time as the CFS. Kaori and I will now work on a volumetric array. We will be outside of the ship working on the hull using the new Paa-Zem pods, so please let us know if you plan to move the ship."

"Blueberry to bridge: I am installing the Lorath sensors and the telepathic activity scanner."

"Pineapple to bridge: I'm updating the STV to the 1-G-1 version."

"Attention crew: Type 30 Rations are available in the wardroom for anyone hungry for a midnight meal. Only 1 meal is allowed per crew member."

Sighing softly under her breath, Kim advanced to the security booth and asked whomever was in charge if she could view the security recordings of Concourse D, and stated that it was a direct order from Kurusu-Shosa, and vital for the safety of the Star Army of Yamatai, hoping that they would help her in some way.

Kurusu-Shosa? If the security can't help us, what's the next call? ANd if they can't help, something's seriously wrong on this station... Kim called telepathically over to Misaki as she patiently waited for the security staff to get their behinds moving enough to help.

Yaichiro returned, unable to do much else...

"...Gomen, Mistress Shosa..." He said, as he got on the bridge.

"If necessary, I would like to avail myself to buying one of the remaining vessels and entering Nepleslian space myself...I am passable for a Nepleslian, and while I would need Blueberry's help for a disguise since I recently spent time there...at least I have a good reason for cosmetics if caught. I also have a very recent ST backup from today."

Yaichiro said, indicating some of the burns on his face...

"Sorry, Concourse D isn't recorded," the security office told Misaki. "Even if it was, it's a huge place...the best way to find out is probably to go to the people and talk."

Damn it! Shosa, Concourse D isn't even bloody recorded by security. Something's not right here. Kim once more told Misaki as she growled and turned back towards the ship. With this kind of security lapse and no recordings, who knew what would happen to a mere Nitô Hei who went to investigate down there?

I'd say we'd do an armed investigation down there in force. If we send people alone, they might end up like Hanako-Taisa, with no clue as to how or when they'd dissapear, or who'd taken her. The soldier was now making her way back to the Eucharis' bridge to await further orders from the XO, and currently commanding officer.

Cherry simply shook her head with the reply, keeping her well trained neutral expression. And then she turned on her heel, walking back out with mild annoyance brewing in her mind.

"Cherry to Eucharis. Haven't found anything here." She stated simply.

Why isn't SAINT handling this? She shook her heard softly. Maybe the Empire doesn't care for Hanako anymore... She smirked at the thought.

Misaki sent a reply to the Starling:

Return to Pisces for now, lockdown probably won't help do anything but restrict more traffic and cause more problems. We'll see if station security wants to respond to an urgent issue anyway. When you arrive start scanning the ships leaving and anything still docked. If you got a scan of the other vessels that passed you, please forward anything you found out to us.

-Kurusu Shosa

Misaki didn't look pleased at all, she didn't want a repeat of the spaceport on Yamatai and the officers in charge of Pisces might not be as helpful as the authority there. Reluctantly, she opened a line to station command.

Kurusu Misaki Shosa said:
Attention,

My squadron is on an urgent matter of security to recover an officer taken from Yamatai of high importance to the Empire. The perpetrators in question fled to this location, and may be attempting to switch their ships, and may have already left via concourse D. Until such time as we can locate this officer, or where the suspects have escaped to I require your cooperation, and a lockdown of the concourse in question with full cooperation from your security teams in hand searching all vessels.

Regards,

Kurusu Misaki Shosa
2nd Squadron, First Expeditionary Fleet

"Don't worry, Kage-Shosa. Write me up an operation planning report for what you're suggesting while we try to get some more information. While you're writing it, go get a ration in case we do have to send you out."

The XO keyed the intercom to reach Pineapple. "Report in when you are done with the STV, there are some things from the Asamoya I need you to recover before we leave port."

Another message, "Bridge to Kaede: good work, you'll know when we depart just get as much done as you can safely now while we have the chance, understood?"

"Bridge to Blueberry: Confirmed, report any changes."

"Eucharis to Cherry: Copy. Standby to go with security to the concourse in question."

Taking time to reply to Kim, Misaki glanced over the progress everyone had on the ship. We'll do what we have to, Kurosora-hei. Start asking anyone you find in the concourse about the Danger Dancer, and that cryo-unit. Too many people are there to not have seen anything. Standby to accompany security, I just made an official request.

Hai, Shosa. Was all Kim replied as she sighed, hating that this stupid thing had gotten in the way of their time in Norfrost together, while she turned towards Concourse D to interview anyone she could get a hold of as she made sure her weapons were armed and ready to be used in a moment's notice.

Kim ended up running into a SAINT agent that gave her a data pad with a message to give to Misaki.

SAINT said:
Our agents in Concourse D have determined that Hanako was stored in a cryogenic stasis unit and moved from SS Danger Dancer to SS Smuggler's Pride, which left the station. We have contacted YSS Starling and Starling was able to identify the Smuggler's Pride as one of the ships that passed it into Nepleslia.

We suspect that the IPG may be involved--and that means that they will probably deny any requests to enter Nepleslian space to retrieve her. Our ability to get intelligence in Nepleslia is scarce right now due to new Nepleslian laws, but we can determine that the Smuggler's Pride's destination, going by the ship's heading, is Nepleslia. It should be also noted that the ship isn't being subjected to quarantine procedures like other ships entering Nepleslian space. This probably means the Nepleslian government knows they're coming.

We hope you find this information useful.

Signed,

SAINT Operations, Pisces Station

Meanwhile, Pineapple finished her work on the STV and reported in.

Err... Kurusu-Shosa? You won't believe it, but I just ran into a SAINT opperative... apparently they're in charge of Concourse D... Got a Datapad for you, apparently it's got info on Hanako-Taisa. Kim transmitted mentally to Misaki as she quickly thanked the SAINT operative and raced back to the Eucharis, intent on giving the datapad back to the XO at any cost.

As she entered the ship, she turned directly for the bridge, ignoring anything that might be in her way as he raced for the bridge. As she entered, she ignored protocoll and hurried over to Misaki, and handed her the datapad, panting only slightly from having raced from Concourse D and back to the Eucharis.

"One Datapad, fresh from SAINT, Kurusu-Shosa." Kim said simply before she bowed to Misaki and then to Kage, keeping in mind that they both were her superior officers.

Yaichiro nodded at the soldier...

"If SAINT is here, we may want to ask for those cloaking suits they have in their possession for this mission...what does SAINT say, Mistress Shosa?"

Yaichiro didn't really get an answer, so much as a curse from the XO under her breath as she read the letter. "This is a problem. Blackberry cancel my request to station command. Recall Cherry to the ship please." Swearing again, Misaki looked to the Shosa. "You're welcome to go look for them, but I doubt the SAINT agents will be sticking around for a consult. I can stealth, and infiltrate but it's been some time since one against anything but Mishhu targets." Announcing that made it clear what model she was, but it couldn't be avoided. The problem was hiding the ship..but the systems they were working on could help with that.

A list was sent to Pineapple for immediate transfer from the Asamoya:

-1 MINDY 1H -For Kurusu Shosa
-5 MINDY Standard
-2 Type 28 Nekovalkyrja Burst Automatic Rifles, with 6 additional KZ-BR-100 Battery Pack each
-Spare MINDY Parts, weapons
-Anything else that fits and is useful, use your best judgment

--Kurusu Shosa

"Why would they cause an international incident?" Misaki asked, as she spoke she dispatched a letter to Fleet Com, Taisho Yui.

Mistress Taisho,

SAINT agents have deducted that Hanako-Taisa's kidnappers boarded as ship that was not stopped to be inspected heading for Nepleslia. I would like authorization to go after her. Yaichiro-Shosa can pass down there if we need, and it seems IPG is involved in this.

Attached is the SAINT report. In short, we want to go to Nepleslia. Trying to ask their government and being denied as the report suggested might be okay, wouldn't it? Then they wouldn't give us much option if we're discovered trying to recover Hanako Taisa. When we get her back they can't get mad at us for being there, or else admit government-sanctioned kidnapping.

I failed her, and would like to redeem myself in the eyes of the clan. Please allow us to go.

-Kurusu Misaki Shosa
2nd Squadron

"They said we're going to Nepleslia, Yaichiro-Shosa. So go find them, and send me that report however we might skirt the Eucharis across the border, and use your ship to land in lieu of one of our shuttles. It would be a good test of new systems, when everything is completed." The officer noted.

"...Understood. Requesting permission for Blueberry to use her skills to disguise my appearance."

To Pisces Station Concourse D

I am interested in purchasing the SS Thunderbolt from you. I'm already at Concourse D and will be available shortly to pick up the ship. Financing is not required, as I will be paying in full when I buy the vessel.

I'd also like to purchase a salvaging liscense for both Yamataian and Nepleslian space.

Mr. Shade
Prospective Salvager

He knew Shadow was the translation of his false family name...well, not so false now that his daughter carried it, but Shade was more acceptable...especially if he always wore the sunglasses he purchased while he was working.

The station seemed to present no issues in selling the Thunderbolt.

OUTSKIRTS OF FUNKY CITY

The SS Smuggler's Pride landed next to another spaceship amidst a cloud of old newpapers in a old parking lot in a run-down slum. From the ship, a heavily-armed middle-aged Nepleslian warrior emerged, making his way across the cracked asphalt toward a poster-covered two-story brick building with a missing roof and a garage door on the front. A handful of men in black power armor stood guard outside.

From the old building, a man with a black fedora, camouflage pants, and a black shirt emerged. The two Nepleslians met in the middle with loud greetings, a hug, and some back-patting before heading back towards the ship to talk.

"I set up a meeting with the IPG tomorrow at noon. They say they will pay us ten million DA, but only after they have the girl. They must really dislike her," the merc explained. "I don't trust the IPG, which is why I came to you for manpower just in case."

"You know we can handle it if things go bad. Just make sure the location and conditions are good. 3 agents from each side will meet, while my men provide security. When the transaction is complete, you give me my cut and leave ASAP."

"Ten percent."

"Right. Don't fuck it up. I don't want to deal with the greens any more than I have to."

"Go get some food first, then maybe Blueberry will be done with her assignment. We still need clearance from fleet to do this anyway." Misaki dismissed Yaichiro to prepare so they would be ready once the new silent running systems were all go and he had his ship. Modifying it to shield sensors from hidden power armour and life form signs could take some time, as well.

Message to Pineapple said:
Thank you for the speedy transfer, get something to eat if you haven't already.

Yaichiro bowed, and then proceeded down to the Wardroom to get a ration for himself...He began to eat it with as much speed as possible while still being polite and maintaining the appearance of an officer...

After a few minutes, Yui called Misaki.

"You have permission for this but you better not get caught. My suggestion is to have the ship go in to recover SS Pods near Nepleslia, then sneak a stealth shuttle out to the planet."

Valen had been cleared from the medbay for active duty. He was happy to finally be able to get up and actually do things now. Now, after collecting his own ration, the Yamataian nibbled on it while trying to find somebody he knew to figure out the situation thus far.
