Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

At the moment of Masako's embarrassment, Asher walked around the corner towards the Armor.y He noticed the two Nekos standing out and waved at them on his way over.

"Hey! Kuro-Juni!" Asher yelled out from the corner, he quickly strolled on over to them. "I heard you got a gun' n'arma' f'm-!" He stopped as he noticed the redness in Masako's face, and the other woman next to her.

"Er... Am I interruptin' somethin'?" Asher asked, backing up a few steps to show he was willing to give space.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

"I - I - " Tsuya stammered as her mind caught up with what her body had done. She stared into Masako's eyes, not managing to finish her sentence, and just as she was going to try again she heard another voice in the hall. At the friendly nickname, she assumed the worse, and her grey cheeks blushed a bruised color just before she let go of Masako and fled down the hall to the armory, on the edge of weeping.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Nyton nodded and saluted back as Asher left the room. He chuckled a bit at the man's actions. "Still as obvious as ever." he muttered under his breath. Placing a hand to his hip he then looked over at Hinoto. "You know Hinoto-san, he was checking you out. Watch out for that one. He always tends to eye the prettiest ones."

"Then again I suppose I cannot blame him. You are one of the most attractive women on this ship after all." Nyton then added, teasingly.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

"I suppose I am," Miyoko replied dryly to Sanjuro's observation. She was supposed to help Sanjuro, but nobody had said she had to be talkative. As he passed her, though, she picked up her own pace, trying to stay even with the medic.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Hinoto beamed in good humor at the compliment. "That is sweet of you, Taii. Thank you. With your permission, I will leave to assist the armor team."

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

And there was Asher.

Masako couldn't help but think his time was absolutely perfect to make this day even more interesting than she thought it would be. "Westwood-hei," she growled and placed her hand upon her forehead for the second time today. To make matters worse, the younger, and obviously more embarrassed Tsuya, had dashed passed the smaller Neko and towards the Armory.

"Westwood-hei. Your timing, like always, suits you." the Warrant Officer stated after a few moments of silence and deep, calming breaths. "Anyway, we're gathering all the armor personnel at the Armor Bays," she stated impassively, even though she wasn't as calm mentally. "I suggest you wait a few moments before entering however," she began before pausing with a sigh.

"On second thought, just keep everyone outside until I call them in," Masako muttered and began to head into the Armory (where Tsuya had apparently fled.) "I'm coming in," she announced loudly as the door opened. Stepping through, she made sure the door was closed before glancing around.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

When Masako came in, Tsuya was standing at attention not far from the entrance, watching Masako come in with an impassive look on her face, though her expressive green eyes still looked deeply unhappy. She nodded when the warrant officer entered.

"Kurohoshi-juni," she said in a flat, emotionless voice. "I am ready for the next briefing."

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

"I suppose you've had a lot of time to sleep, then?" Sanjuro answered back sharply as he continued his pace. As Miyoko started moving forward, Sanjuro also seemed to pick up his pace ever so slightly. "I certainly hope it's not because you've been shirking your duties."

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Clearing her throat lightly into a fist, Masako allowed a gentle smile to cross her lips. "Yamada-hei," she said gently. "Briefing is in the Power Armor Bay next door, not the Armory," the small Warrant Officer corrected as she stepped closer. "Now, care to tell me what that was about?" she asked softly, a pinkish hue still gracing her cheeks at the thought of it all.

Pausing for a moment, Masako seemed to mull over the younger Neko for a moment as she observed Tsuya. "What is worrying you?" the Warrant Officer inquired gently.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

At first, Asher was going to introduce himself to the fine beauty next to Masako. However, that plan was ruined as she slipped past him in what seemed to be embarrassment. Still, confused, he listened to the briefing from his superior, though, only still confused more as he was told to watch the door.

Sheesh. Asher thought, being placed outside, practically as a doorman, while the two women took care of their business inside the door.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Tsuya blanched slightly as she was corrected on the location of the briefing - in her bout of upset-ness she'd barely even realized where she was going.

"I..." she mumbled, her voice returning to its normal, slightly more emotional inflection. "...I am afraid of... losing you, Kurohoshi-juni... I... I am..." She turned away, wincing at the response she imagined herself getting. "...f-fond of you... very much so."

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Yuzuki straightened somewhat awkwardly, searching the Taisa's face for some clue or cue that she could take to understand the meaning of the contact. She didn't dare touch the Taisa. The spot on her cheek where the officer's hand brushed tingled. Though she was confused, it calmed her a little bit.

Yuzuki wasn't sure exactly why.

A few moments passed before she said; "Hai, Taisa-san."

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Kotori lowered her hand. "Go then, Yuzuki. The others will need your strength."

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Tom saw that the meeting between Yuzuki and Kotori was wrapping up and he quickly made his way to where the two stood before bowing politely to the Taisa.

"Heisho, please muster the technicians in the subdeck for my briefing. Non-infantry ones, of course," he said to Yuzuki before returning his attention to the Taisa.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Masako was silent as she stared at her subordinates back. "Yamada-hei," she began before pausing once more as she reached out to Tsuya's shoulder. "Yamada-san," Masako went on more informally. "Such is the life of a soldier. Everyone on board fears death or the death of their friends and loved ones," she explained. "It is one of the primary driving forces of why we fight. The Taisa may say we are doing this for the Empire and we are, but that is just our reasoning to bring us to the battlefield."

Pausing for a moment, the small Neko moved around Tsuya to face her. "What drives us to fight for survival are our friends and loved ones. I've never told anyone this before, but I was once ambushed by the Mishhu on my way to my first ship assignment. Just one Santo-hei and me, a Nito-hei, against a SMX Destroyer and armor complement. At first, they were just trying to capture us in a trap. But then I saw a little girl on that battlefield. Part of me believes that she was just a trick created by the Mishhu to draw us out, but another part of me believes, both now and then, that the little girl was real and being used as bait." the Warrant Officer told her story in a soft tone. "I tried desperately to save that girl, but when the time came," the small Neko tried to tell the rest, but paused mid-sentence with a grimace.

"Let's just say I couldn't save that girl. But that situation, that first taste of combat, shaped me into what I am today. The defense of the Empire may send me to the battlefield, but my desire to protect my comrades is what drives me while I fight." Again, the young Warrant Officer paused to collect her thoughts, wondering if what she said would mean what she meant to say.

"What I mean to say," she began again with a gentle hand upon Tsuya's cheek. "Is thank you for the sentiment." What else could she say? What else could she do? Turning her back to Tsuya, the Warrant Officer crossed her arms under her breasts. "For a first kiss, it was quite enjoyable," Masako suddenly said in an effort to lighten the mood.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Tsuya's ears flicked at Masako's touch, and she hung her head slightly as she listened, feeling chastened. "...that... is not exactly why I am worried, Kurohoshi-juni... I am... prepared for death, I simply do not... want it. I was... frightened of either of us going away without... that," she finished rather lamely, her ears drooping once more. The touch of the older neko warmed her cheek, and she made a rather small, strangled little sound.

When Masako turned, Tsuya wrapped her arms around the other woman's waist, holding her warmly against herself. "...do you... do you want... more, Kurohoshi-juni?"

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

"Hai," Yuzuki replied immediately, bowing quickly to the two of them and excusing herself.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Tom nodded to Kotori.

"Taisa, could you inform me of the situation involving our technicians? Once we reach our location, shall we run with a freshly-created skeleton crew as before, with our engineering crew engaging in battle with the infantry, will we have a split, or will we all be staying on board Miharu?"

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

"I'll need your technicians here to care for Miharu, Juni," Kotori turned to answer him. "The infantry will take care of the Gate itself. Plus, I don't want to deplete us of all ours sentries in case we are boarded."

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

"Then I shall not hold you up. Let me know if there is anything you need of me. Until then I have something I wish to attend to as well." Nyton said as he stepped out of Hinoto's room. Something that is long overdue I believe. he thought to himself as he began to depart. With the fresh emergence of Asher he felt there was a need to address someone. He knew he should have done this a while ago but now was as good a time as any. Most of the personnel aboard were so busy it was actually the perfect moment.

As quietly and unseen as he could Nyton made his way to the Starboard Storage Bay. He knew the ship was monitoring him so there really was no way to avoid all detection but it was just as well. If Miharu knew where he was going then very likely 'she' would know.

Arriving at the storage room Nyton began to look around and through the supplies until he found the area where the large storage container holding the gravest secret of the experimental ship was located. He ensured the room was empty of any other crew members before making any move towards his goal. Once he knew it was fairly safe he began to move towards the container and boldly put his hand upon the lid. "Kotori, I want to talk to you." he called out.
