Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

A volumetric window opened in front of the Nepleslian, just between him and the heavy metal container that hid the hemosynth tank within.

Kotori said:
Yes, Nyton?

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Tom smiled.

"Very well then, Taisa. If you need anything done with that Ryusei fighter, just send me the message. I plan on maintaining a volumetric link with the bridge so I won't be too far away."

He bowed.

"Take care, Taisa."

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Kotori smiles warmly to her engineer. "You too, Tom. Thank you for helping to bring us this far."

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

As Kai finally made his way towards the door to actually get his ST done, a familiar head passed by, in the form of a Sprite he had spoken to on several occasions.

"Hey, Yuzuki. What's your current task?" he asked, to gauge whether or not she might be available to talk for at least a little bit. It may have a been a little prying, but, given the mission they were about to undergo, that didn't matter.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Masako's cheeks were became a cherry red when she felt her waist pulled closer to the younger Neko. Ears standing up slightly and eyes widening a touch, the elder Neko swallowed a bit as she looked into Tsuya's eyes. This is getting, she started to think before sighing softly and placing an index finger upon Tsuya's lips.

"Leave it for when we come back alive soldier," Masako replied with a smile. Mentally, the Warrant Officer was surprised she could even formulate such a response.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Tom departed, and after getting his ST backup done, made his way to the subdeck, his home on the Miharu.

"Well, Miharu it seems we're going to be together this time around," Tom said cheerfully. "Looks like we'll be fine, hm?"

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

A little taken aback at the immediate answer Nyton hesitated a second before replying. "Kotori, were you the one who initiated the restoration of Asher." he asked directly. His right hand continued to rest on the container.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Nao had several things to, and it was made worse due to the fact that this mission was going to be suicide for most of the crew; she had to look over power armor components, check which one's were in need of repair or replacement, fix them. She then stand in line for an ST while watching a man parade about naked and make a ruckus. Usually, Nao would have time to gripe to herself about how it sucked to be a sprite, with long hours and hard work with little payoff. 'God. How I treasure each pleasant moment.' she thought to herself. They were rare and few in between, an even more so now that they were getting ready.

With work done for now, Nao had to find even more work. 'Off to find Yuzuki.' she pouted to herself. No matter her complains, she wasn't going to slack off; she took what pride she could in her hard work. When she finally did find the Heisho, she didn't even bother rounding the corner. Yuzuki was having a moment with the Taisa. She wasn't going to interfere. Nao felt a pang of things she didn't quite understand. Perhaps sadness? Loneliness? Maybe even jealously? Either way, the sprite waited until they were done, and tried to report in, only to be beaten by Kai. Irked, she waited behind the blond haired man.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

"Well, however things will go, we'll give it our best," Miharu's AI replied confidently to the engineer.

To Nyton, the volumetric window's text content scrolled up and new words appeared to replace them.

Kotori said:
Yes.

I'm already illegal, so there's not that much harm done in trying to create more experienced soldiers to help out. If we fail, their originals are probably going to suffer from drastically shorter lifespans anyways.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

So. It was another practically suicide mission was it? The last mission, the only mission, Rin had experienced already had stacked odds and now it was this much worse. Essentially a guaranteed death from what the Taisa said, if the sprite had listened right. Now, she even knew what those power armors that she had helped build were for. It was an interesting feeling, having built something that would likely be used by oneself that really wasn't oneself. Any copy made from her would be her, and yet not. Then, after she'd been 'reborn,' she'd just be rushing back off to fight again. She might even run into her own corpse.

When the briefing ended, Rin just headed off to get her ST backup, as ordered, that was it after all.

As she headed through the corridors to the medbay, the lavender-haired sprite shook her head. Rin just headed off to get her ST backup, as ordered, that was it after all. She was a sprite. Her job was to fix things to help people stay alive or to shoot things to help people stay alive. There was no need to get to the depressing depths of philosophy of what her life meant or how it weighed against this mission. Her life was simple, when compared to how hard it must have been for the Taisa, or Tom, or nearly anyone else. She had a job and she going to do what she had to!

Joining the Miharu's queue for the ST backup, Rin quietly hmph'd to herself at her apparent 'idiocy.' Though a good question did come up from all of this thought. What was she doing for this? She was infantry and a technician. She can't be onboard Miharu and the Gate at the same time. A mental note popped in her head to ask: would a spanner or a LASR be her weapon of choice for the day?

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

"...h-hai, Kurohoshi-juni." Tsuya's own cheeks reddened even further as the woman touched her lips, and she acquiesced by removing her arms, however slow it was. "...promise?"

Yuzuki glanced over her shoulder, pausing a few moments in her movement. She had been moving like she was going somewhere, and the challenge visibly annoyed her. When she spied it was Kai, though, her expression softened a little bit.

"I'm about to get a backup and muster engineering. Why, what do you need? Was there something wrong with your armor?"

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Akiko was working in the kitchen making food when she noticed more sprites run by, grab a quick snack, and then run out. The heightened tension of the crew was beginning to make her nervous. Shizuka was also nervous but not for the same reason. It was because she wanted to participate in the action a little more than just sit around in the galley making meals. It was written all over her face.

"Onee-chan?" Akiko said, looking at her older sister unsure.

"Hm Akiko?" replied Shizuka.

"I'm scared, onee-chan. Are.... are we going to be alright?" she asked.

"Of course we are. Kurohoshi is out there fighting for us. We should do our best to support her and her soldiers." the older neko reassured.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Nyton read the text and nodded. "True, Kotori. Very true. Clever as well. I have to admit I think it is a novel approach. I have known about your presence on this ship and the abilities you possess and yet I have never taken the time to speak to you. I need to know, why do you help us?"

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Masako gave the young Neko a smile before patting her on the cheek. "I promise," she replied. "Now head over to the Armor Bay. It's about time the others started arriving there."

Walking over to the door to the corridor, the small Warrant Officer opened it to check upon Asher. "Okay, head over to the Armor Bay now." Masako stated calmly.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

"Ah- No, I didn't really need anything. I was just waiting for the ST line to die down and wondered if you had a moment. Right now my Armor is fine, though I suppose it wouldn't hurt to know if there was a second set up the same just in case..." The Infantryman trailed off, then mussed with the hair at the back of his head, looking mildly flustered.

"I guess I could just follow you. We both have to wait in line anyway, Ne?"

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Tsuya followed her officer once more, watching the back of her head. She fidgeted as she went. However she expected her little stunt to turn out, it sure hadn't been that way. She made her way to the armor bay with a small smile tugging at her lips.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Yuzuki hesitated, then nodded. She had forgotten about the line, and it would probably be out of hand by now anyway.

"Yea, you're right. I have a moment or two, I think."

Yuzuki closed the distance between the two of them, eventually standing beside Kai, beside one of the tables in the wardroom. She finally tucked the loose orange strands of her hair back behind her ear.

"What's on your mind?"

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Asher had fallen asleep on the door, and had a rude awakening as he nearly fell-backward on Masako. Before he could, though, he stumbled forward and looked back at the two Neko's leaving the Armor Bay. The Yamataian's face was plain as he considered the two of them, mostly because he was just a little groggy.

"Well, uh, alright then, Kuro-Juni." He followed the shorter officer in tow. The Yamataian looked at Tsuya's smile and then put 2, 3, 4, and what he thought was 6 together.

"Y'know, I figure'd you be a lil' further along in a relationship, by now." He said in a half-mocking tone.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

'Now! This is my chance!' Nao thought. She was standing directly behind Kai until the moment he said it was nothing; Nao sidestepped out of his shadow and into Yuzuki's field of vision. She was about to say, "Heisho Yuzuki. I have completed my ST and request further orders." even going so far as to open her mouth, but the Heisho addressed Kai. She would have to wait some more, blushing in embarrassment.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

"Not too much that would be interesting to you; tactics against our supposed enemies, ways to not die, what I'm going to do about my hair since it's getting so long..." Kai said, partially in a joking matter, partially seriously. He walked towards the door to see if he could spot the line they would have to wait in.

"What will you be doing during the mission?" he asked, offhandedly, observing another sprite who seemed to need to talk at Yuzuki.
