RP: YSS Aeon [Mission 7.5] Aeon Base

Trowa lost no time engaging his CFS and ascending to the Aeon. His flight was not as perfect as it should be due to the damage to his control systems.

Sunflower looked over at where Eun-Kyung had landed. "Give me the pain shot then tend to the Chui. She's priority. I've got a med kit in my armor's pack. I will go ahead and hit myself with the PMS-1 injector while you do." she said.

Marnissa meanwhile was checking the Thaurgons who were brought back. A keening could be heard from the each of the aliens. She did her best to assure them that they would be fine, and then began treating the worst of them.

Trowa did not want to risk the occupants in the hold, so he gave himself one short burst of speed as he neared the entrance of the hold and then shut down the CFS. He landed about halfway up the ramp, which was fine with him. Unfortunately, the additional weight of the armor and the slope put him off balance and he toppled forward. He swore a number of faithful invectives, then opened his helmet. He looked at Sunflower and gave her a thumbs up.

Sunflower watched Trowa and as soon as his feet hit the deck, she activated her comm. "Bridge, Sakura-Hei. All away team members safely onboard." she said as she prepared the PMS-1 hypospray.

"Chui? Works for me," Eiven replied, hitting Sunflower with the pain reliever before loading a second charge and grinning, "If I notice your eyes close, though, I'll have no problems tossing something at you." He then quickly made his way over to Eun-Kyung with the kit and hypospray.

Upon arrival the doctor knocked on the Chui's helmet. "You still awake in there, ma'am?" he called to her, then held up the hypospray, "I have something for you." The man then looked behind him when he heard the loud thud of Trowa hitting the deck. Noticing the thumbs up, however, he sighed with some degree of relief before looking back at his other one-leg-short patient.

Eun-Kyung lifted her head, confused for a moment, and then waved one hand mildly in dismissal.

“I’m stable at present.” Her armor speakers carried her words to the new medical officer. “Your priority is to make sure the Thaurgons are fine, as well as you can. The team and I were armored up and had more protection from the radiation burst. Then get Sakura squared away. Then me. I just forgot I broke my right leg too. As long as I stay put I'll be fine.” She smiled wryly, though it only registered as a twitch of the armored helmet to anyone watching.

She glanced to the side, briefly, catching sight of Trowa. “Heisho, get the ramp closed. I want us buttoned up air-tight on the double,” she called out across comms.

"I'd like a look anyway, Ma'am - if only to administer the nanites" Eiven insisted, " I can monitor them from wherever I go next. That said, my next move would be getting you and Sakura-Hei to the Med Bay, since the Thaurgons seem to be getting cared for by their own medical staff already."

The doctor then turned his head around to make sure Marnissa was still doing alright and that Sunflower was still awake.

Misaki slid in from the passageway and bowed before announcing her arrival, and parsing the ship for a sitrep to see where she could do the most good. Things on the away mission had been more or less smooth aside from coming across a jittery group of their new contacts, all things aside. She worried about Kat some, but was reasonably impressed with her instincts as a soldier, for someone that looked to her at first sight like she could go one way or the other. Power in small packages was not just a Nekovalkryja trait, though.

Cargo Bay

“Go ahead and administer the nanites,” Eun-Kyung said, shaking her head minutely before reaching up to unseal and remove her helmet. She took a deep breath, shook out her hair, and then looked up at the medical officer.

Noting that she had never seen the man before - suggesting that he had either been hiding when she had rejoined the ship’s company or he was a recent arrival - she set about trying to get an idea of the man. As with most such superficial appraisals there wasn’t much to really be known, but she did take note of his apparent age, evidently a touch older than her. She wondered if he was really that old or if the appearance was just an affectation. Either would be a bit surprising given his junior rank. A query to Eternity could have told her more, but she was bit too fatigued to go for that at the moment.

Instead, she merely cocked her head, indicating her slight curiosity but also conveniently clearing an injection site for the nanites.

“Make it quick though,” she said, firmly but kindly. “I am Chui Kim Eun-Kyung, so you may consider this an order, Kohosei: unless Sakura-hei crashes, you are to confirm that the Thaurgons are stable before treating us further. I am not having the aliens I risked my team to save endangered by assuming there is nothing further to worry about.”

Eiven looked back at Eun-Kyung and got the PMS-1 ready with a slight knowing smirk. The Chui was cute, but this seemed to be a common affliction in the Star Army. As old as his face made him look, however, when he looked back up to make the injection, his eyes seemed to look much older.

"So long as you understand that I won't be arguing with the foremost expert on their physiology, ma'am," the doctor replied applying the hypospray with the nanites, "Well, that should take a minute; but if your eyes close, medical SOPs take over." He then gave the operator the appropriate bow with another of his knowing smiles before making his way over to the Thaurgon medic.

"Marnissa," the old man called out, closing the distance, "I'm told they may have been exposed to radiation. Is there any imaging or detection equipment you may need?"

Crew Lounge

Kata'nova had casually made her way to the ships crew lounge, and upon stepping inside, was thankful to see that it was nice and dark. She let out a sigh of relief and took her helmet off, and shook her head a bit to let her hair flow out and fall down below her neck line. She walked over to one of the couches and sat down where she stretched her legs out a bit and began to relax.

Hold.

Marnissa said something that the translator unit was unable to translate. Which she was grateful for as it was not something professional. She then turned to Eiven. "Thaurgon physiology is durable, it would really depend on the level of exposure. Until I get through treating the burns and other injuries, I have give them a dose of our radiation treatment. If they received a heavy dose, it will not save them. But it will buy us time to get them to a medical facility where I can treat the exposure. The one that was shocked is the most seriously injured excluding radiation exposure. He's suffered neurological damage. Two of his hearts are not beating, the other four are carrying the load for now."

Trow forced himself to his feet purely out of Nepleslian cussedness. He walked over to the ramp controls and moved the switch to the close position. The ramp lifted into place as the doors closed and locked. "He signaled the bridge and the Chui cargo doors closed." He then removed his helmet and slumped to the floor where he cracked the power armor open. With some wriggling he extricated himself from the armor and leaned against the wall. "Trowa, next time stay on the bridge where you belong." he said berating himself.

Lounge.

Josea walked into the lounge with his ICP and took a seat next to Kata'nova.

"Good job down there on the surface. Did not know that your suit had a translator. That might have helped with us establishing a common one. But I need to ask what you were doing in the Tenba. It looked like you were accessing some sort of controls, that were not visible to the rest of us." He said.

Kata'nova took in a breath and removed the hand that had placed over her eyes. "Jut opu sfbmmz b usbotmbups, bu mfbtu opu jo uif usbejujpobm tfotf, bmm J offe xbt npejgz nz tvjut dpnnvojdbujpot tpguxbsf xjui bu mfbtu tpnf pg xibu J lopx pg zpvs mbohvbhf," she said and waited a few moments for the ships translation software to catch up, all she had been doing was just modifying her suit. "Bt gps xibu J xbt epjoh...." she smiled and pointed at her gauntlet to reveal the recessed keypad, she opened the palm of her hand and tapped the pad with her other hand.

In a moment a small holographic representation of the creatures they had run into appeared several inches above her hand, it was a direct recording of what they had seen on the surface.

Josea smiled as he listened to Kata'nova's response. 'Translation algorithm is working fine as long as we are dealing with non-cultural facets.' he thought. He watched as she gestured to the embedded keypad in her glove. But Josea was a scientist with the SSS, trained in observation. The gestures and movements she was making did not match those on the Tenba. 'So our little Kitsune does not fully trust us. That's fine for now, let her have her little secrets as long as they do not jeopardize the ship or crew.

"Kata'nova, I have a question regarding your craft that crashed. I am working on an idea on how we can try to locate your people faster and get you home. The communications systems of your craft were they standard for your people? If so we can look for similar radio signals and use them to triangulate a position." He said.

Bridge

Katae turned to Misaki. "I'm glad to see that you and your team returned unscathed." She stood up and walked over to her XO, and put her hand on Misaki's shoulder and gave a small smile. "You have the bridge XO. Take us down near with the last team is. Not too close to the Thaurgon settlement lest we provoke them to do something rash. Engineering has some minor repairs to effect due to the EMP pulse from that ship fragment exploding. I am heading down to the cargo hold to see our people and our guests."

Eun-Kyung watched the doctor walk off with a wry grin. She’d never known any sort of medical worker to value any external rules over their own determination of the best treatment for a patient and was amused to see that the Kohosei was very much of the mold in this regard. She looked over at the group of aliens, hoping they were all okay, but she was a little too far away to be able to hear what was said.

For one insane moment, she considered floating herself up and crossing over to the group. For Empress’s sake, girl! the more rational part of her brain snarled. You’ve broken one leg, are missing the other, and have perfectly competent subordinates. Stay put!

She relaxed somewhat, finding the decking to be absurdly comfortable; she wondered if that was shock affecting her senses. Leaning her head back, she glanced over at Trowa. He’d managed to seal up the compartment and now appeared exhausted, so she left him alone. They all deserved a rest, though she expected she’d be immersed in hemosynthesis fluid, hard at work regrowing a leg before too long.

When the translation came through, the young Kit placed a finger up against the side of her chin in thought before saying. "Hmmmm...." she was thankful that there were a series of protocols to follow in the event of contact with another race... except this wasn't one of them, no one had ever taught her what to do if she was to be found by another race and they were wanting to bring her back. The adults really don't think there are other races out here... boy are they wrong! she giggled lightly at her own thoughts before clearing her throat. "Sorry, umm, I know the frequency you'd have to track; as I started to track it since we went planetside; I got some hits but ..... hmmm... I don't have the ability to really investigate their locations.. you know since I lack a craft," she sighed and placed both hands behind her head, the Kit was giving off the appearance of being a carefree soul.

"Ah! I know!" Kata'nova beamed as she sat back up and revealed a holographic representation of several planets in their area where signals were coming from, the planets orbited slowly in the palm of her hand and she tagged one with a finger, causing the hologram to zoom it to where only the planet was now visible. "This planet is to the galactic east of us, some distance, but its signal more closely aligns with my own.. I dunno if its from my people or something else..."

Eiven heard the main door close and looked over to watch Trowa slump down. The doctor watched the Nepleslian closely, thankful the fatigue showed that his adrenaline levels should not be covering up any possible problems. He then smirked a little at the Heisho's comment, watched for a few seconds longer, before looking back to Marnissa.

"Well, four out of six is better than zero out of one; but anyone who loses about 35% of their cardiovascular efficiency can't be doing well," the Minkan grimaced, "Did you need that that one tool we discussed earlier? I have one in my bag and can dig it out if needed."

The man then took another look at both Eun-Kyung and Sunflower to make sure neither were getting too comfortable. He was acting on his orders as well as his own concern; however his job was still the welfare of the crew, which had not managed to leave his mind.

"Eternity, warm up hemosynth tubes one and two for me will you? I have two patients whom will require a few hours in them once can I get them to Medical."

Hold

Katae walked into the cargo area and stopped briefly. Looking around at the sea of Thaurgons, with her crew members interspersed. She spotted the new medical officer tending to her crew members. She also noted a Thaurgon talking to Eiven presumed it was of a medical nature. She floated across the hold to avoid stepping on any of their guests and touched down by Eun-Kyung. "Eun-Kyung, that was a very audacious plan, but it worked. Now let's get you out of that armor. The sooner we get you uncanned, the sooner our medical officer can get you into a Hemosynth tube." she said.

Marnissa, "That is true and one of his hearts is beating erratically. I do not have the means to try to stimulate it into a normal rhythm here in this chamber. Except to make an incision and manually massage the heart. But this is not the place for invasive procedures. Yes, I will need access to a laser scalpel to tend to some of the other injures of the others. Although I may need someone to hold the tool. I suspect it was not designed for use by a Thaurgon." she said with a wan smile.

Seeing that Eun-Kyung and Sunflower seemed to still be awake and responsive, Eiven nodded at Marnissa. "Then let's get everyone to our Medical Lab," he replied, figuring they had spent enough time there, "We even have devices for dealing with heart irregularities - though I'm not sure if you know our measurements for electrical potential."

Realizing, also, that Katae had arrived he turned to her next. "Taisa, I believe we are at the limit of what we can do here," he began, "I'd like to get all the injured to Medical, including the Heisho, so that further investigation or treatment can be administered. Also, is there anyone else aboard, aside from Sakura-Hei and myself, whom can operate the medical systems? It is possible that Marnissa and I will have our hands full."

With the Shuttle shut down and everything, Freyja started to pull the top layers off her flight suit. She knew she needed to talk to the CO. She left the shuttle heading for the showers. A hot shower would be a smart move before she meet with the Co.

The hot water poured over her head, she had been standing there for at least five minutes without moving. She was still were stressed over the monsters that were hunting them back on the planet below. they were huge and truly scared her. sighing she reached behind her and turned the water off. She couldn't delay much longer.

Eun-Kyung smiled up at the Taisa. “Thank you, ma’am. This wasn’t quite how I was hoping it would turn out, but I suppose it will do. I just hope they all come through all right.” She glanced over at the Kohosei. Her previous orders to him had been more from thoroughness and paranoia than from well founded concern. Now hearing that the situation was more dire, she felt dread in the pit of her stomach. She didn’t want to have gotten Sakura so hurt for nothing.

"It could have ended far worse. You and your team returned and will recover, and the three Thaurgons you have escaped obliteration." Katae said, then looked towards Eiven. "Yes, Jôtô Hei Nami has training as a nurse. She should be able to assist you." she said to him. Katae mentally requested that Eternity cycle Eun-Kyungs armor. Once the sections opened, she worked on easing the Chui out doing her best to not cause further harm.

Marnissa was treating her fellow Thaurgons using her kit. However she could see that her meager supplies would not last long at this rate. She had some of the Thaurgons who were unharmed lift the wounded for transport. "My patients are ready for transfer, what about yours?" she said to Eiven.

Meanwhile Yani came into the bay and made her way over to Sunflower. She checked on the Neko then opened the armor and helped her get out of the suit. "I have Sakura-Hei." she called out.
